If you like the TV show Supernatural you are going to like this. This is basically just Jo fanfic with both Sam and Dean - Which I love because I personally adore Jo and I shipped her with both of the brothers. It wasn't anything horribly special but it definitely did feel like just reading episodes of Supernatural which was fun!

I genuinely cannot say enough good things about this book. As a supernatural fan, I struggle to find books that truly hit the mark when it comes to using the show as reference for characters or plot. This one absolutely blew me out of the water. The entire book really did give early seasons of the show. The characters were also explained so well, I love the flirty aspect Mia added to the dynamic. The plot is great, it kept me intrigued the entire time and the spice was spicyyyy! I am flabbergasted by the way the first book ended, definitely has me wanting more and I can’t wait for the release of the next book!

As a fan of Supernatural, I was very happy to see that this book carried the same vibes as the show! Niko (Dean) and Luca (Sam) were very similar to the characters they are inspired by, and I ate this up!! Mia was raised with the boys after her parents died and was raised a hunter like them. She has been in love with both of them forever but never actually expected them to reciprocate. They love her but made a promise to their father to never get romantically involved with her in order to keep things from getting messy, and they spend this whole book fighting against that promise until their f*** it moment. Spice was minimal for a why choose, but since the duet is not completed yet, we have time for more spice (yay!). And of course, since this is Supernatural-coded, the ending will not stay that way, and someone will get resurrected. If you aren't familiar with Supernatural, then the ending would be devastating. But if you are, then it is just a regular Tuesday. I can't wait for the next one; October 31st couldn't come sooner!

It's a really good book to pass the time and immerse yourself again in the early seasons of Supernatural.

BUT I do have one comment: don't expect complete accuracy with the series. I mean, they mention it at the beginning of the book, but I feel like there are some instances where the male protagonists' personalities go a bit off-topic. I mean, what do you mean by Niko (Dean) doesn't defend and clings to his dad as if their family relationship wasn't hanging by a thread (because it does) and Luca (Sam) is the one who does it instead. They're small details, but they make a big difference. At least for me.

I’m actually genuinely sorry to give a one star review but I did not enjoy this book at all. 🫣

I had to take SEVERAL breaks to do literally anything else because I was so bored.

The characters were written decently but the plot was just so boring. Which doesn’t make sense because it was written to be like any of the Supernatural episodes and those are not boring in the slightest.

I was so excited too 😭

If you are a fan of Supernatural the TV series then you'll probably like this. Instead of Sam and Dean, you have Luca and Niko and a FMC in a why choose situation.
