Krist is a hood rich battle rapper tied to the Infamous DP for more than his raps while Moanie is a doctor and the sister of a member of his crew’s rival, the Bedford Boys. Their paths should’ve never crossed, but the night they met, fireworks ignited. She sees the man past his past and he didn’t know he needed her until his eyes landed on her. Love this raw doesn’t come easy, especially when the streets are still whispering. While fate is tested, one thing still remains, from the cradle to the grave, some blooms only grow in the dark.
So far, out of the series, this is my favorite book. I love an instant love relationship. There was no drama, no fallout between the two. Just unadulterated love. Mo's cousin, on the other hand, deserved that work. I thought Saz was going to be a problem, but Krist nipped that in the bud quickly. Poor Jru, I felt so bad for the kid. It was a good thing Krist was there to assist him.
Definitely not a bad read but felt like something was missing. In terms of a novella (which is what it is) it’s an enjoyable story. Honestly just felt like it should’ve been more dramatic based on the affiliations. The fact that nothing came of that was an issue for me but it may not bother someone else.
(2.75⭐️) I thought there was going to be more tension and gang shenanigans given that the synopsis speaks of a Romeo/Juliet type situation almost. But it was pretty low tension/low angst. There were some drama filled moments but for the most part this was just a basic love story.
As I was placing this on my TBR list- I saw the page count and decided to go ahead and read it.
Quick read but so enjoyable! ——
Plot/storyline: MMC battle rapper and FMC medical doctor. Chemistry: instant and the banter was my type of vibe. FMC is so politely egotistical😏😎 Spice: not that type of read but the spice scene did have spice 🫣🤭 Pacing: amazing Drama: moderate. I pushed the stir forward without overshadowing it
—— Sidenote: Another Favorite microtrope- when the main characters have a job in healthcare.

“pen game 🔏✅” moment:
Novellas are very tricky to write/read because there is a balance the author must find between giving the readers a complete story while working within a specific word count.
This author did that well. Although I would love to read more from this couple and the side characters- the story felt complete and left off in a good spot.
Nothing missing. Nothing lacking. The readers are just left longing for more…

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend this read!
I definitely want to go back and read the rest in the series.
Also, shoutout to the author who continually has some amazing visuals for her books
Hmmm, I’m confused again 🧐⁉️ There was never a threat or conflict (in this series) between Krist as a DP affiliate or any other mentioned rival D-Ville gang ⁉️ Actually, this story without the implication of gang activity, was just another urban rapid romance. … Moanie & Krist were just two single adults that met in a club, they vibed, dated & eventually agree to be mutually branded. Personally, an extremely ridiculous requests 🥴⁉️…NINJA 🤬NO‼️ but that’s a me response 🤭🤷🏾♀️‼️Otherwise, “Krist & Moanie (D-Ville Projects) - Book 3” was an entertaining & endearing love story. However, the D-Ville contention between rival gangs, nope, nada, nonexistent! Don’t believe the D-Ville hype branded undeliverable. Unfortunately, though who knew the true rivalry was internal. Blood ain’t always thicker than water 🤷🏾♀️‼️
Kennedy you stay writing these masterpieces! The pen is undefeated forreal! Now on to my babies, because this is definitely my favorite from the DP series. Krist and Moanie, were everything 🙌🏾 I ate this up from his flows to how he came behind Moanie, and how she was ten toes riding for him. I'm glad they Bedford beef wasn't really prominent and you focused more on building their relationship. I'm glad her cousin got dog walked forreal she was scandalous over someone who never belonged to her.
I enjoyed the story as a love story, but the only thing that connected it to D-Ville was where Krist lived and actually mentioning DP so while the first two books felt connected this one didn’t. It’s almost like Krist didn’t even know any of the other members which was kind of a bummer. It would have been cool if they were at one of his battles just to keep it connected but…. This story was still good.
This was really good! I loved how Krist loved on Moanie, he didn’t play about his honey bun. Moanie was just what he needed, had that man in love love ❤️ and she was ten toes down for her man. Alley was trash! My only issue was besides the mention of DP and Krist living in the same building as Suleem and Kassir this one didn’t have the connection that the first two had. It’s really not an issues more of an expectation lol but still really good read.
D-Ville book 3 is about a rapper who falls for a doctor associated with his rival gang (where have I read that plot 🤔). They don't care about what outsiders say, they gonna love each other anyway. I will say Krist had Moanie's back and that was enjoyable to read. I did enjoy the karma that found Moanie's cousin after she tried to come for Moanie. I took half a star away for the ending. I felt like the book just ended without being wrapped up properly.
The storyline was good however the flow was a little bit off, in my opinion. It just didn’t seem to have a direction I was under impression It might be a hood story, but it was more like a love story and a hood. It was really good. it just didn’t flow well for me. The two main characters was very lovable and I’m glad that they found each other and he was very protective over her. I can see another book One update for these two.
Book 3 was so cute. I think they're my favorite couple so far. I love a good hood love story and I was drawn in from chapter one. Krista & Moanie made a nice couple. She was already feeling him before they met so I'm glad they hooked up. Alley was foul but she got what she deserved. So.metimes it be your own family hating on you. i like how Krista handled that. This was really good story.
I really enjoyed this book. It was short and straight to the point. Krist and Moanie were two different sets but neither cared. All they wanted to do was be together and stay out of the way.
I loved them for each other. Krist was laid-back and so was Moanie. They just fit.
Great job as always. I fell in love with the way Krist & Moanie started from the very beginning. Their love story was straight and to the point. I was so happy that Krist knew what he wanted from the beginning and didn’t play no games behind his Honey Bun🤭😍. Alley played herself, and Sazzy tried it…Teehee😒😆
This was an ok read. I loved moanie and krist. I wish there was a little more action in the book. It was definitely different from what I expected but I loved that it wasn’t like the other books
Moanie was just living her grown life. Rival beef be darn. She fell for the man who respected and encouraged her to live her best life. I was here for pages 1-94. Light drama and a lot of love.
Man this cute novella gave me all the feels. Moanie didn’t have to do much of nothing for underground rapper Krist to get her attention. They took the time to get to know each other and it just flourished from there. They were so cute together.
Krist was solid. I'm glad Jru finally opened up to his brother about his situation. Happy Moanie saw her cousin Alley true colors. Krist made sure nobody touched his honey bun
I enjoyed this ride and the way Krist did not play about Moanie. They both were locked in and played no games about each other. Moanie’s cousin was BEYOND foul, I have no words regarding her behavior. Sometimes your family be some of your biggest enemies.
Loved this. Loved Krist's energy. How he stood up for his brother. His lyricism and how he ain't play bout nothing. Moanie was exactly what he needed and he was what she needed for sure. I loved their connection. I enjoyed this a bunch.
This was a great story with a great ending. I'm glad they found love with each other because they deserved love like the next person. Her cousin had to learn the hard way but she deserved that beat down.
This was a nice easy read!!!…I enjoyed how Krist and Moanie allowed their connection to flow!!!… I was not shocked that cousin was angry enough to want to hurt Moanie!!!…
They were so cute!!! That dang cousin smh. I thought it would be her brother trying to stop their motion smh. But aht aht, I need a little bit more miss mamas.
This was a cute and quick read. It's definitely more of a "happy for now" instead of a HEA. Definitely still worth the read if you want something quick and entertaining.
I was an okay read for me. The most action was when Krist paid Lexie to beat down Alley for trying to set Moanie up. A epilogue would have made it better in my opinion .
