I have reached my breaking point. And now I will not, cannot be stopped. With the Soul Eater on the verge of god status, it's time for me to take a final stand, even if it means losing everything I love. Even if it means losing my life.I've got plenty of power on my side, and some I didn't know I could count on in the first place. But it's nothing compared to the army of the undead the Soul Eater is building up. And time is running out.

They say that good always triumphs over evil. I hope that's true. Because the odds aren't in our favor, and the fate of the world is in our hands.

* Fight Evil * Become Evil * Sacrifice * Everything *

"No one’s place in this world is guaranteed. Not everyone is going to get a happy ending. But life isn’t about how it ends. It’s about the moments between. It’s about the small things. The way our loved ones laugh. The sight of a butterfly in the sunlight after a year or two in the darkness."

I really don't know what to say about this series. I thought the concept and execution of the first book was so interesting, but the ongoing plot in the rest of the books got increasingly murky and unsatisfying. This final book was very slow, the showdown was anticlimactic, and the book didn't even really tie up all of the loose ends established in the series. I thought that Cyrus' character was completely misused in this book--I got to the point where I really just didn't understand the point of his continual reappearances and, while I always wanted a HEA for Nathan and Carrie, I thought that the ending was rushed and not well explained or even well earned--I'm not going to go into more so it isn't spoiled for other readers. I'm just kinda relieved that the series is over and bummed that it didn't live up to the first book. I'm not sure I'm going to read the series previewed at the end of the book.

Rating: 2.5 stars I would have to really struggle to find myself rating this book any higher than this.

All Soul’s Night is the Last book in the Blood Ties series by Jennifer Armintrout. Some won’t be happy with my review, while others who have also suffered along with me through this series to get to the end, will agree with most of what I’m saying. Hopefully ::grin::

So, in summary of the books events since most of it was background noise for what really happens in the end, here is your run down.

Carrie & Nathan find themselves in Chicago after running away from Jacob Seymour, the Soul Eater megalomaniac who wants to become a God, and thus make the world his hunting ground for his vampire followers. Nathan is still upset with Carrie after she slept with Cyrus. Cyrus was later killed by his father the Soul Eater. Nathan tires of having to prove that he actually does love her. After Nathan gets a stunning phone call, which Carrie tries to tell him it’s a trap, he speeds back to Grand Rapids and you can guess what happens next.

Max and Bella are in Italy trying to find a way for Max to fit in with Bella’s pack lead by her father Julian. Bella is still pregnant with the baby she and Max created after he was given a potion to drink by Dahlia. Said megalomaniac really wants the baby; badly. Max is struggling to understand how being a Lupin is any different from being a vampire, or a werewolf. Julian then decides to get rid of Max, by sending him to Chicago so that he can die fighting the Soul Eater and another suitor, preferably one that is a born werewolf, who can step in and raise the baby as his own. That was Julian’s last mistake as pack leader.

Ziggy is alive and a vampire. Oh wait, you would have already known this if you read the previous book Ashes to Ashes! ::head slap:: what was I thinking! He was made into a vampire by the ever present Soul Eater. Of course, Ziggy feels he has no choice but to lure Nathan into a trap since Jacob is in his head 24/7 telling him what to do. Ziggy believes the BS that the SE was selling by saying he wouldn’t hurt Nathan. Yes, and at no point during this book, or series was Carrie not annoying enough to make you want to smack your head against the table several times until you pass out from blood rushing to your skull! He also blames Carrie for failing to protect him while they were both under Cyrus's roof.

The VVEM, or Voluntary Vampire Extinction Movement, is basically nonexistent after the Oracle tore through their headquarters and killed anyone who got in the way. Those who did survive, have no means to contact the other members since they don’t keep records! ::eyeroll:: No worries though, the Oracle is dead and stays that way! ::applause:: The only problem is, those who did survive can’t be used to help bring down the Soul Eater. Ah, well, no worries. Our heroes and heroine will find a way out of this mess.

Nathan is taken after a battle with Dahlia and her zombie like creatures back to the SE’s ranch, where she plays Silence of the Lambs on his body. Ok, seriously, Dahlia is one of the creepiest characters you will find in any series. She is seriously off the reservation when it comes to her sanity and her deviousness as well.

Surprise! Cyrus is not dead after all! As I said before, none of the main players in this series really stay dead. Cyrus has been dead, and brought back to life so many times now you have to wonder WTH Jennifer was thinking. I don’t understand the point either. I mean, he ends up being the last soul necessary to complete the Soul Eater’s ritual, but his story ends with him screaming Carrie’s name while watching her die.

Carrie creates Golem like creatures, one of which stabs Bill, a new character who was Max’s blood supplier, in the heart. Ziggy in a desperate move, turns Bill, but his heart has been damaged. Carrie does a crazy in home heart transplant, which, seriously, you expect readers to actually believe that after all the time away from being a doctor that she can just pick up the tools, and begin again? Riiiiggggghhhhhhttttt

*Here is where I will get a bunch of comments and disagreements.*
Ziggy and Bill find themselves utterly, madly, and deeply in love. ::gagging:: I had to agree with Max's point of view at this point. I don't care what the hell you do, or do it with, as long as I don't have to watch or hear it happening.

Carrie kills Dahlia by drinking her blood and sucking in her soul. Creepy! So, now she has the devious bitch in her body and finds that she has the ability to kill the Soul Eater all on her own. ::sigh::

Max turns all furry after leaving Carrie, Nathan, Bill, and Ziggy to their own battles. Later, he returns home to Bella to tell her that she needs to accept that he is a vampire, as well as a werewolf. Again, what was the point of having Max in this end story at all if he's not going to be there at the end? Ziggy plays more of a role in what evenutally happens than he does.

In the end, the Soul Eater is killed; Cyrus survives his ordeal but nobody seems to care since he doesn't get his happy ending; Carrie dies in a blaze of glory after inhalling the Soul Eater into her body; Nathan kills Carrie by stabbing her heart, then takes his own life by staking himself because he doesn’t want to live without her. The End.

No really that’s the end.

Seriously what more did you want me to say?

Ok, so, that wasn't the actual ending, ending to the series...............

In a twisted and completely stupid move, Nathan is brought back to life by Ziggy and Bill who completely adore each other even without the sire/youngling link they share. Then 6 months after that, Carrie is brought back to life by Nathan. And…..they are both human. And...they live happily ever after to make babies, and get married, and in 20 years of more if they so choose, they can have Ziggy turn them back into vampires.....OR......Cyrus will return and profess his undying love for Carrie and bite her again and steal her away from Nathan who will remain human. Yeah, that's what I thought as well.

I really enojyed this book. This whole series was something I actually got into a lot. The only thing that disapointed me was that this is the last book of the series. I really wish we heard for from the characters, I fould Cyrus wasn't finished. I felt I could read more of his story and more of the rest of the characters stories. But all in all I really enjoyed the series...I just hoped for more books. Which isn't bad. I don't not like how the author ended it, I just hoped for more is all. I found the ending really good i just hate seeing a series I just started to like finish. That usually happens when I just start gettin into a great series.
In the first installment of the Blood Ties series, Carrie is working at the mourge at the hospital and is turned into a vampire. She then meets Nate and his son Ziggy. She is helped in the process of being turned into a vampire by Nate, and then they fall for eachother.
Cyrus is the character(vampire) who turns Carrie at the morgue that night and she finds herself always comming back to him in each installment, even if it's not something she wants.
In this book(the final book) the Soul Eater on the verge of god status. Carrie is pushed to limits she didn't think she'd ever have to be pushed to. And she finds she might loose more than she would want to give up. There's a lot of action in this book and I found myself of the edge of my self for some parts. Old friends reappear, including some dead ones(:)). This book really shows how it is pretty hard to make a vampire stay dead for long.

Synopsis:
I have reached my breaking point. And now I will not, cannot be stopped. With the Soul Eater on the verge of god status, it's time for me to take a final stand, even if it means losing everything I love. Even if it means losing my life.

I've got plenty of power on my side, and some I didn't know I could count on in the first place. But it's nothing compared to the army of the undead the Soul Eater is building up. And time is running out.

They say that good always triumphs over evil. I hope that's true. Because the odds aren't in our favor, and the fate of the world is in our hands.

I really enjoyed this series, and hope that others will as well. I am looking forward to Jennifer's new series Lightworld/Darkworld. :)

WTF. Seriously. WHAT IN THE HEL WAS THAT?! The ending was the worst thing ever. After 4 books of VAMPIRE VAMPIRE VAMPIRE they turn out HUMAN in the end?! Argh!! Most of the time during this book I was shaking my head in disgust or wanting to stab Carrie. I found her even more annoying. Every character's sexual past was almost insestuous. Out of all of the people in the world did they all have to sleep with each other. For instance Ziggy slept with Bill, Cyrus, and Jacob (father of Cyrus) - Ziggy sired Bill, Jacob sired Ziggy and Cyrus. Nate was sired by Jacob and slept with Cyrus and Carrie who was his fledgling. Cyrus was sired by Jacob and then with Carrie later. He slept with EVERYONE. I swear, there might have been two people he didn't sleep with. It was freaking ridiculous.

And sadly, I think the only character I ended up liking in the end was Cyrus. He was pretty likeable in the fact that he didn't care if he was a total a-hole since he knew it was what people were expecting. My heart broke for him in book 2 when he lost his only love because Carrie was such a moron. All of the other characters got a say in the epilogue thing except Cyrus. If there was a series about Cyrus I think I would absolutely adore it. I love things from his perspective and he's just an awesome dude.

Carrie just drives me crazy like you wouldn't believe. She does not deserve Cyrus at all. After 4 books of a love triangle (sometimes more of a love octagon) she just comes to the conclusion, "oh, by the way, I don't love you, my brain is stupid." It was not believable after 3 books of constant Carrie/Cyrus stuff.

One thing I did not like about this installment in the series was Max and Bella. They were both really awesome characters that I enjoyed until this book. This book they were all lovey dovey and so sappy I was tempted to skip over any parts where they talked to each other. Bella was this awesome, strong character who just turned into wimpy wilty lady waiting for her man. It was a real disappointment.

I wish so much that I could have loved this series more. I really liked the tone and the vampire properties, but I just was not rooting for Carrie and Nate (or the constant "just kidding, I'm not dead" thing). All of their problems were just instantly solved in the end by them becoming human. Lame.

Veramente a effetto!

In this book it's not only good against evil, it's also the good guys wondering how evil they are capable to become to defeat the Soul Eater.

Ziggy's coming back, totally changed by his sire's wickedness, now an adult person, darker than ever, and making you wondering at every single page who's side is he going to be, and yet knowing it from the beginning was awesome.
Carrie, becoming more powerful, dangerous and decided than she's ever been, being capable of things no one could expect from her, for one single reason: Nathan.
Nathan, scared not only about his sure fate but about Carrie's, suffering for her more than he ever did when Marianne was dying, not knowing if he'll be able to survive to her sure death. As touchy as always.
And of course, our beloved Max, who's internal fight between his two natures while fighting his way back home has a place in this dark disclosure for the series. Vampires Carrie and Nathan are taking a breather before the final battle to stop the cunning Soul-Eater whose powers grow with each vampire soul he 'drinks, a battle that they are ill equiped to fight. After withholding his love for three books, Nathan is finally ready to love Carrie, but Carrie is now the one holding herself apart. Frustrated Nathan runs out of patience, calling Carrie on her pettiness and selfishness, forcing a little introspection on Carrie who at long last sees the cost others have paid for her selfinterest. Unfortunately this revelation comes a bit late and Carrie may loose Nathan for good when he willingly walks into a trap baited with his foster son Ziggy - the son who died in Nathan's arms but who is somehow `alive' but tied to Soul-Eater through the fledgling/sire blood tie. Believing his sire's lies, Ziggy delivers Nathan into torture and certain death -- Nathan is intended to be the sacrifice that will fuel the Soul-Eater's transformation into a dark god. Given Armintrout's willingness to sacrifice her characters in previous stories, I was definitely on the edge of my seat for a good portion of the book wondering if Nathan was going to survive the torture that make Armintrout's books fall on the `Horror' side of urban fantasy/ paranormal romance.

The magical Dalia who continues to revel in her depravity plays her evil part with glee but pregnant werewolf Bella is mostly on the sidelines. And even though the main thrust of preparing for the battle against the Soul-Eater lies with Carrie, dual natured vampire/werewolf hybrid Max who has his own struggles, Ziggy with his divided loyalties, and newcomer to the series Bill an ex-Marine blood supplier -- the only human amid all the vamps but whose acceptance may help to win Ziggy back his soul -- also play important roles. I could rave on about the character development
SPOILER:
at the end carrie tells nathan to kill her after she kills the soul eateer because she doesnt want to be harming any more people. She already has dahlia in her head after sucking her soul and killing her, and now she found out shes a soul eater too! so she will stand up to anything to save her loved ones and friends... turns out, nathan and carrie are humans in the end and they live happily ever after( so does max and bella-a.k.a warewolves/max is lupin) and (ziggy and billy- both vampire lovers / soul mates).!!.

Carrie and Co are back with this last instalment of the Blood Ties Series. When Carries beloved Nathan is kidnapped by his supposedly dead son and took to Jacob the Soul Eater, Carries life dramatically changes for the worst when she rescues him. With the dreaded ritual coming up to make Jacob a god, Dahila locked in Carries head and Carrie receiving her magic power, things are pretty crazy. Will they stop Jacob in time? Or will they be too late?

(Please be aware that this review may contain spoilers before reading further.)

This book was surprisingly better than the last two, but still wasn’t great. Due to my dislike of the series and main character, nothing could make me give it a higher rating.

Carrie did improve as a heroine however, though the amount of power she gained was ridiculous. She became more powerful than the Soul Eater himself. The whole thing could have been over with pretty early on when she rescued Nathan, but it was dragged on, and when the end battle finally came, it was definitely anticlimactic. What happened after that I should have seen coming. I guess it worked, though bringing people back from the dead seemed a little too easy.

Cyrus returning once again was silly. Human, vampire, dead, human, vampire, dead, human, vampire. Leave the man alone and let the character live or die in peace! Seriously, doing that to a character is just cruel.

I liked the new man Bill, but his whole relationship with Ziggy was a bit off. Being a thirty-something man and perving after someone as young as Ziggy was just a bit creepy to me. It also didn’t make sense. Bill disliked vampires and the first thing Ziggy did to him was bite him. Did he find that hot and ignored his dislike? God knows.

And yes, Ziggy is obviously back, surprise surprise! But he is a likeable character.

Max and Bella also turned up and were so deeply in love, even though Bella didn't play a big part. In this, we get to see Max turning into his wolf form, which was a treat! Actually, having a whole werewolf army attacking the vampires was a treat. There is nothing more epic than a vampire / werewolf war. I tend to always side with the wolves.

As always, I favoured Nathan. I have liked him since the start, even when he couldn't admit his love for Carrie. Some characters you just instantly get attached to and this happened to me. Bad things always happened to him, but he always pulled through.

All in all, an annoying, yet mildly entertaining series with a happily-ever-after.

I was actually rather disappointed in this book. I have been following this series from the beginning and I feel I have taken every twist and turn with Jennifer Armintrout-- even the ones I wasn't ready for...(ie. Ziggy and Bill's relationship....) but I feel like the wrap up for the book was terrible. I don't know if Armintrout got sick of her characters and needed to wrap up the book in such a way as there can be no sequel or what. What was the point of introducing Bill in the series at this point was he just a convenient love interest for Ziggy so everyone could live happily ever after. There is no mention of Dahlia and whether she is really gone, we have no idea what the prophecy involving Max and Bella's child-- the Sword entails and the death of the Soul Eater is anticlimactic. After killing the Soul Eater Armintrout should have ended the book. Instead we learn-- almost in passing--the chapter is so casual, that Ziggy and Bill have brought Nathan and Carrie back to life and that they choose to stay human, and get married and make babies....A lovely, Disney worthy happy ending to be sure and well deserved for the two vampires who have given their lives to save mankind but, huh? Dahlia's magical notebook is suddenly easier to decipher? This is quite a feat and we can't expand on this? I feel cheated. This book had great potential that was not actualized.

You would recommend this book to? People who love sex and gore.
Which is practically why this book completely grew on me over night. I really didn't like the ending... it was too fairy tale. I was really getting into the darkness of it. I mean the whole story has been sort of fucked up and not fairy tale, except for the amount of fantasy, but this is a vampire novel, so it works. Those who have read it will know that the gore in this was very different.. in fact.. it was pretty disgusting, but I LOVED that the author took us there. I mean, that's not something I read about every day, yaknow? It was great.

Pro
We got to see a lot more of Ziggy. He was great. To see his sexuality out in the open and his woes and strengths was definitely fun to read, plus Bill was just awesome.

Cons
They made Cyrus out into a little bitch.. sure he's literally been through hell, and hey I might be a little drone-y after all of that but still. It was almost just a little bit sad.

Either way.. I'm interesting in reading what Jennifer will be out with next.. hopefully it's just as gorey and fun!

It's been a while since I read a fantasy book. I'd read the three books of the series years ago and didn't read this one because it wasn't publish in Portugal.

I didn't remember much, basically almost nothing from the other books but it wasn't a problem, because I was absorbed in the story and in the characters.

It was an entertaining and easy to read plot and with an end that I wasn't expecting, but I liked it.

I think I would have liked this series, but the third of this series wasn’t available to me from any library in the area, and jumping to the 4th book wasn’t as satisfying as I want it to be.

This book got a bit weird with Cyrus coming back to life again - this storyline was just a bit much for me. Overall I did enjoy the series. They were easy reads and the story was well written (most of the time).

The Soul Eater is about to become a god. The Oracle took out the vampire headquarters and no help is coming from that quarter. It is down to a ragtag team consisting of Carrie Ames, a baby vampire, Nathan, a vampire with a connection to the soul eater, Max, a vampire-werewolf hybrid, and Cyrus, who is once again human. What a merry band of misfits to go against a god.

Overall, I am not particularly fond of the end to this series. In fact there are a few parts to this ending I outright dislike. All Souls' Night is a lot of buildup after two previous books worth of buildup, all for a bunch of horrible things to happen in the end. It was also super emotional in the beginning, before we reached a point where everything just leveled off and I felt like I was just waiting for the end to happen.

In a lot of ways, the end really just felt too easy, as well. All this planning, all these loopholes and sidesteps and drawing things out. And then it just ends. Just like that. I just really don't believe Armintrout knew how to end this series. I feel like she wrote a standalone, and the author pushed her to make it into a series because that would be the only way they would publish it. So she had to come up with something, and then drew out the story further and further....and just didn't really know how to end it. She had a general idea of the way she wanted things to go, but the execution fell flat.

There are certain special series, where I genuinely hope the main characters have a happy life together at the end. They have done their bits, they have lived their hell, and now it is time to rest.

This was not one of those stories.

I fucking despised Carrie and Nathan. These two are absolutely horrible people. They have fucked each other over again and again and again throughout the course of this entire series. They are both incredibly selfish people, trying to bend the other to their will. They have nothing in common except the flimsy circumstances that have brought the together. They really don't even seem to like each other.

There is a fight in the beginning of this book that I really feel really shows the contempt these two have for each other. It is long, but it is worth reading.

Nathan: My son is alive. And I'm going to go get him.
Carrie: Don't be stupid! Nathan, how much time has gone by? Why didn't he contact you before now? You know that if you go to him, you're going to end up dead. You're not thinking!
Nathan: No, I'm not thinking about you! You're pissed off because for a moment, my focus isn't on you. I've been Carrie-centric nonstop since the first night we met! How much longer do you expect me to hang on to you while you punish me?
Carrie: Punish you? Why am I punishing you?
Nathan: I don't know! But ever since you came to Chicago with Max you've done nothing but punish me. I'm sorry, okay? Does that end this asinine vendetta you've had against me? I'm sorry that I couldn't love you at first sight and give up my memories of my wife and give up my love for my son. I'm sorry I couldn't get myself together for you on your time!
Carrie: That's not what this is about! What have I done to you?
Nathan: You slept with Cyrus! I'm not an idiot, and I can read your mind. You slept with Cyrus while I was possessed, then you left for Chicago because you thought we needed time apart. And when I came back, ready to tell you that, yes, I love you and I want to be with you, you ran off and you fucking sired him!
Carrie: I didn't have a choice!
Nathan: You did it because you wanted to. You get so lost and so desperate when the focus of someone else's life shifts from you, and you'll do anything to get it back. If you're constantly pulling me in two directions, begging me to be with you, pushing me away, then you've got your captive audience. Now, I've helped you when no one else could. I helped you through your change. I helped you when you turned your back on e to go to Cyrus, and it cost me my son. I even helped you mourn his murderer. I've never asked for anything in return from you, but I'm damned sure you wouldn't give it, even if I did. So I'm taking. I'm taking my focus off of you, to go and get my son and bring him here where he will be safe, with me. You can be as jealous as you want. You can hate me. But I'm not giving you anything else.

That above is the fight to end all fights. That is a fight relationships die in a fiery hellscape during. This is a fight that makes both parties realise they hate the other. This book's ending was so bad because this relationship didn't implode in a pile of realisations. This is not a story where we get a happily ever after, but that is the kind of ending we got anyway.

So I'm upset. And that fight is amazing.

I really loved this book. Sure, the ending was a bit idyllic, but the rest of the book retained its dark atmosphere.

Cyrus... How I love and hate you. I hated you in the first book, but then in "Possession", I fell in love with you. I saw that you had a softer, human side. When you died in the previous book, I was so sad. Yeah, it's silly, but he's one of my favourite characters.

The Dahlia/Carrie-aspect was very interesting. I was very glad when Dahlia got what she deserved. Or maybe I'm just a bit strange... xD

I actually cried when it ended. The ending paragraph(s) was really beautiful and it's one of my favourite book quotes.

Blood Ties has been a well-written, dark vampire-series. I am really glad that i discovered it! Sure, it's a bit too sexual for my tastes, but it's easy enough to ignore and focus on the story line. Well done, Jennifer!

A slow, uneven read that finally picked up some steam with the last fifty pages or so.

What investment I'd found in the characters of Carrie, Nathan and Cyrus disappeared with this installment. Max and Bella seemed to be nothing more than add-on characters this time. Sort of an "Oh yeah, they're in the story too, I should write something about them as well." moment for Ms. Armintrout.

The one bright spot in this book was the introduction of Bill and his involvement with the other characters. I feel that Ms. Armintrout took a small risk with his introduction and interaction with other characters, one that ultimately paid off in the end.

I'm all for happy endings, but sometimes life (even for vampires) doesn't always end up so happy. Sometimes one can feel more of an impact if one is shocked by the ending rather than being treated to what seems to be a formulaic, somewhat trite ending instead.

All in all, the Blood Ties series is a worthwhile read.

I am so glad this book is the final in the series. I only read it because I had to know how it ended. This seires just wasn't the greatest for me. How many times can Cyrus die and come back to life? I feel like I was watching Days of Our Lives.

(Im a spoiler(and 'spoiler' is just an understatement)!!..Beware)

Begins immediately following the events of ASHES TO ASHES, with Carrie and Nathan hiding from the Soul Eater and his many servants. While hiding in Max’s home in Chicago, both vampires are unexpectedly attacked by Max’s blood supplier, Bill. An unlikely human ally, Bill is forced to join Carrie and Nathan on their journey home when Nathan receives a phone call from his human son, Ziggy. Presumed dead after participating in an unsuccessful attack on the Soul Eater, Ziggy cannot possibly be human anymore; although Nathan is fully aware that Ziggy now a vampire sired by one of the most vicious vampires to ever exist, Nathan cannot resist his son’s request. With his relationship with Carrie reaching the boiling point, Nathan leaves her behind, but Carrie follows knowing it is her turn to save him. An ocean away, Max has stayed by Bella’s side, despite the confusion of now being a lupin. When Bella’s father and pack leader sends Max on an impossible mission, he knows that he will never be accepted by the pack. Determined to succeed when he is expected to fail, Max heads to America to destroy the Soul Eater. Torn between his dual natures, Max doesn’t know how he can fight with the werewolves and the vampires without having to choose sides. With the Soul Eater becoming more powerful each day and the tension growing higher by the minute, all of the characters from the BLOOD TIES series are ready for war.

So. The end of the series.

omg. so much going on......yet the big battle takes 10 mins of reading - if that.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟SPOILER ALERT 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

I have to say anti climatic......

it would have been sooooo much better if they could STOP BRINGING PEOPLE BACK TO LIFE!!!! It kinda takes the whole dying thing shock out of the equation.

First Cyrus died. Resurrected as human. Turned vamp by Carrie. Killed. Resurrected. Turned vamp.

Then it was Ziggy turn to come back from the dead. I have to admit that one surprised me and I'm glad he did.

Carrie turns out to be a soul eater. Sigh. So as she kills the original Soul Eater, Nathan who couldn't fight kills her by stabbing her heart that Cyrus removed earlier in the series....then kills himself.

And surprise.....he and Carrie get brought back to life as humans to live HEA.

Ziggy is in a relationship with newcomer Bill and it's actually a sweet relationship and he does deserve happiness after the crap he went thru.

Meanwhile Max - now a lupin - a vampire/werewolf hybrid leaves the comfort of his vamp friends to be with Bella and her pack.

Not 100% sure what happened with Cyrus. As far as we know he's still a vamp.....

Like I said ....pretty anti climatic. ...if it didn't keep bringing them back to life it may have held more water but that small fact hovered over every death and when it does happen after the first couple of times you mentally sigh and go "really? Again?"

The last few pages are pretty much telling us to enjoy the small things in life. You never know what's round the corner etc which is a lovely sentiment but.....

I feel unfulfilled...? I think that might ve the term.
There were times through the series I really pushed myself to keep reading and when you feel like that at the end...it's a little disappointing.

Sorry Ms Armintrout -your writing skills are great, and you describe situations, characters, items etc exceptionally well which helps with the imagination. I just wish the ending and the whole resurrection thing wasn't over played.

This is a great 4 book series and super fast read. I loved it! I held a candle for Ziggy actually having been turned, and was pleased with that result. I wish he could have returned sooner. There are a couple stupid things, like the whole why do you have a gun thing? Just dumb, and the in book 3 the whole "Oh Bella and Nathan are sleeping together" drama was super transparent. I didnt even believe that for a second and it felt lazy. I did like that she almost slept with Max that was fun. The romance between Ziggy and Bill was beautifully descriptive. The Henry Golum was obviously gonna kill all the humans, another lazy obvious moment from author... I was disapointed the way things ended with cyrus, there really wasnt even any closure there... They acted like they never loved each other and were a mistake which was bullshit. Seemed like the writer didnt know how to wrap that up so Cyrus watched her die and then thats it? I have a lot of great things I can say about theses books so 5 stars, but I wanted my final review to show where the author could have done things different. I do wish I could ask her some questions, like do she always plan to bring Ziggy back or was she just using him as a solution for story line. Considering she specifically wrote they never saw the body, I want to say she kept it open ended for 'plots sake' lol. Although I hope she cares about her characters like I do and decided his fate from the begining. Thanks again to the author, I hope my review doesnt come off too critical since I really loved the books! The description and creativity is really awesome and I'm totally down to re-read this series again! But First, I gotta read some other stuff by her! Woohoo! Read on!

This is the final installment in the Blood Ties series by Jennifer Armintrout. I can honestly say I’m happy that my reread is done! I didn’t realize that I would take so long to reread this series. Don’t get me wrong, I did love this reread! I just took too damn long.

As this is the final book in the series, I’m not going to go into detail about this book as it would spoil anything that happens the the three books before it.

Just know this is the perfect ending for this series. Carrie drove me a bit crazy going through the books but I can overlook that as I love all the other side characters.

This last book is filled with violence and love. That’s all I’m really going to say about it! Definitely one of my favorite books in this series.

5/5 stars

Ok, so I read the 4 books in the series because I wanted to know how it ended. I have to admit the books were ok, but not more than that. There was a lot of crude sex and an annoying and dislikable head character and yet I couldn't stop myself from wanting to continue reading. There were some really good, new ideas around vampires I did like. I also got fond of some other characters like Max and Ziggy. So, I'm not saying don't read the books, just saying don't get your hopes up too high. It's just a nice way of passing some time.

I was disappointed with this book. I thought the first book was so interesting that I was ecstatic to find out there was more than just one. (Yes, I thought there was one book for years!)

I absolutely hated this book.

I was very unhappy by how many times she brought people back from the dead. This whole book felt incredibly forced like she was grasping at straws to make the "perfect happy ending". When in reality this is my least favorite of the series. I give this a 1.5 in total.

Hea

Nathan and Carrie finally free to truly live and love. Can't help wishing Cyrus could have found happiness and love too. I've been pulling for Cyrus the last three books. Excellent series!
