He fell from the stars.

Now she’s falling for him.

Raven did not sign up for this saving-the-world crap.

But after unlocking a galactic map, surviving an attack from the deadly robotic Enil, and kissing her alien coworker, she’s officially on the run—with the fate of planets possibly lodged in her brain.

Now the Enil are hunting her. So is the government. And, because the universe has a sense of humor, Raven’s stuck in close quarters with the undercover alien who’s determined to keep things strictly professional.

Which would be fine…except, as Raven and Sky race to stay ahead of their enemies and track down his elusive partner, Bast, the unresolved tension between them crackles hotter than Sky’s spark powers.

She’s not sure what’s more evil robots from outer space, the star map and what it’s doing to her, or the way she keeps falling into Sky’s orbit.

The bad news? It’s definitely aliens.

The worse news? She’s falling for one of them.

The mission continues in the tension-packed second book of the It’s Definitely Not Aliens trilogy. Expect more banter, more aliens, more danger, and finally, some open-door spice. Perfect for fans of The X-Files, Roswell, and sci-fi romance with a little extraterrestrial angst,Starfalling takes readers on a road trip full of intergalactic action, emotion, and DeYesso’s signature slow-burn heat…this time with explosive payoff.

Starfalling delivered exactly what I hoped for after loving the first book, nonstop action, fantastic humor, great tension, and characters that keep you completely invested.

One of my absolute favorite things about this series is the FMC’s inner dialogue. It is sharp, dry, and genuinely hilarious. I found myself smiling constantly while reading because her thoughts are just so relatable and entertaining. Elle DeYesso balances humor with danger beautifully, making this an incredibly fun ride from start to finish.

And YES the romantic payoff we’ve been waiting for finally happens! The chemistry builds naturally, and when these two finally get together, it is deeply satisfying. The slow burn progression makes the relationship feel earned, which I always appreciate.

The story picks up with the same high energy as book one it is full of chases, tension, alien chaos, and just enough spice to raise the stakes without overpowering the plot. There’s a great mix of banter, adventure, and emotional moments that kept the pages turning.

I also love how accessible this sci-fi romance feels. Even readers who don’t typically reach for sci-fi may find themselves pulled in by the humor, romance, and fast pacing. I highly recommend this one! Thanks to rattle the stars PR for the gifted arc.

First and foremost big thank you to Elle and RTS for the arc of Starfalling, book two in the “It’s Definitely Not Aliens” series 👽

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, though I did think it was much more slow paced than the first one, with the entire book based on them being on the run for a few days. There was some slight repetition in terms of the running away storyline, but all in all that wasn’t an issue for me because we did get to learn more about Rae and Sky and see their tension build and more of their character shine through! The romance was also such a slow burn though, you’re killing me Elle 🖤

I actually really loved seeing how both Rae and Sky each cracked under pressure in various ways, because it was such a great way to showcase their humanity and imperfections. Bast is not at all what I expected him to be! I was expecting a slightly older little tech geek but he was anything but! I loved his and Sky’s personality contrast, and the super antagonistic vibe that he brought to the trio ✨

I’m excited to see what comes next and how Amelia is going to come into play. I’m secretly hoping we might get some Bast x Amelia crossover, maybe even in a separate series 👀 but anyway, I’m absolutely buzzing for book three and seeing how the entire story pans out. Keeping my fingers crossed for that happily ever after 🤞🏻

Tropes & themes:
* Coworkers
* Evil k!ller alien robots
* Forced proximity
* One-bed
* Protective alien MMC
* Star-crossed lovers

This book was so much fun! Bast was the perfect edition to their duo, bringing in more fun, sassy banter and a new perspective on the mission. Bast joining the storyline also helped answer a bunch of the questions I had at the end of book one; about the mission and their civilization. I loved the relationship building while Sky and Raven were driving across the country. The slow burn finally sped up a bit and we got some freaky, fun extraterrestrial x human action. The descriptive language in the book is perfect, making it easy to picture everything, right down to the Enil’s mech suits and Bast’s swampy home. As time goes on, Raven’s condition worsens, like the Helix is harming her and Sky is terrified. The ending of the book is perfect. While the fate of her brain and Pladia are still up in the air, the trio have gained some information and made a plan which includes bringing in a fourth person. I can’t wait to find out how the next addition fits into the team and what Bast has to say!
The chapter titles are super fun. Some of my favourites include Chapter 4: Hi, we’ve been trying to reach you about your missing spaceship, Chapter 7: Do you need some aloe with that slow burn? And Chapter 20: Well, well, well if it isn’t the consequences of my actions.
Some memorable quotes from the book include: “The real villain here was terrible cosmic timing”, “…because now that I’d experienced that with him, how was I ever supposed to move on?”, and “And just like that, we were back to alien crises.”

Starfalling is the second book in the It's Definitely Not Aliens series. From the first page to the very last, this is an action-packed narrative that provides a nerve-wracking, adrenaline-spiking, heart-tugging plot. From the road trip, to meeting up with Bast, to revelations, to roadside battles, this story keeps on giving. Rae continues to internally monologue her way through her epic fails, anxieties and very real human emotions; she is one of the most relatable FMCs I have read in a long time. Sky continues to prove that protective doesn't need to mean he is an alpha-hole; his calm, controlled, logical approach and exceptional emotional intelligence makes me fall in love with him even more. The slow burn is excrutiatingly, tantalisingly dragged out and I could feel Rae's frustrations as on more than one occasion her fantasies were nearly realised. When the spice finally landed? Oh my, it was the most vanilla-spiced, opendoor, sexy-consent-given scene. This wasn't intimacy for the sake of it; this was intimacy to develop connections, progress relationships, complicate the complex, explore emotions and desires. The complications caused by Rae's desire to contact her family, and the repercussions of her actions raised the stakes, immersing me fully in the emotions felt by all the characters. I was so immersed in this story I couldn't put it down. The ending has again left me with more questions and I am desperate to know what happens in the final instalment of this series.

Starfalling picks up right where the first book left off. The story continues with the same familiar elements, danger, action, survival, tough choices and it’s clearly written to keep readers hooked.

The writing style remains consistent with book one, filled with humour that lightens the tension and keeps the tone engaging. There’s also a nice build up of spice, the chemistry between the characters is well established and woven naturally into the story, adding another layer of interest.

I did struggle to maintain my interest at times. The plot felt repetitive, with much of the book revolving around running, fighting, and escaping (things the characters have been doing since the first book). While there’s plenty of dialogue and interaction, by the time I finished, it felt like the story hadn’t really moved forward. No major revelations occur, and the characters remain just as clueless as they were at the end of book one, which makes the overall progression feel stagnant.

Overall, Starfalling is an entertaining and easy read with strong humour and chemistry. It’s a treat for readers who enjoy sci-fi adventures and are invested in the series.

Starfalling by Elle DeYesso is a fantastic sequel to the It's Definitely Not Aliens series! I really wasn't sure what the second installment would bring us, but the action and character development turned up a notch!

Raven makes mistakes, which I find refreshing, and Sky opens up more. While their relationship develops over a relatively short time-frame, I think it ebbs and flows naturally. The stakes are raised, disaster strikes, and grand theft auto may be the least of their worries!

If you are looking for a great time with a unique romance with equal parts comedy and action, don't miss this series! Such an easy 5 stars for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was just as good at the first one. I love the Area 51 references all over again.

Their was quiet a lot of action too I really enjoyed the motorcycle chase chapter had me on the edge of my seat.

Sky and Ravens love evolved so much from book to book I loved reading it, I also loved how Sassy Raven was she really made the story in my opinion.

The ending to the whole story was enough to bring a tear to my eye I was sappy on multiple occasions.

all and all a very good read I had a very hard time putting it down. cant wait to see what's next!

Elle DeYesso has done it again!!!
I am obsessed with this series. I had a blast reading all of Rae's dry-ironic thoughts throughout the story. Her inner dialogue is so freaking funny. I choked on my coffee at one point. The spice definitely picks up in this one, but Elle still gives us some slow burn to enjoy. I love how naturally the spice progresses as Rae and Sky become closer. There is enough tension and action to keep you reading. I love Bast (though Sky still has my heart) and I'm really hoping him and Amelia gets together in the 3rd one. She would rock his world and bring him down a peg or two. Banter? Snark? Danger? Two hot aliens? What else could you want?
My only complaint is that I can't immediately start the 3rd one.
Thank you so much for letting me read this ARC!!!

.. and I didn't think my love for this series could get any more intense! I am absolutely obsessed. 👽🛸

This book starts off pretty much right where the first one left off. The drama and intensity are immediately there, as Rae's situation is pretty dire. We instantly get some more outstanding, cinematic action pieces with the (really cool!) antagonists of the series- there's running, there's fighting, there's explosions- and we're off from there! The story kicks off in high gear, and right from the first chapter, I couldn't put it down. (Staying up till 3am reading really messed up my sleep schedule.. but hey! A reader's gotta do what a reader's gotta do..)

This one feels more dramatic than the first, because some shit is truly hitting the fan- as usually happens in any good sequel. The stakes are higher- both physically and emotionally. But the novel retains it's sense of humor from Rae's amazingly witty and charming inner dialogue. Some moments are laugh-out-loud funny, and some moments actually make you wail - no, I mean this literally - I actually said "NOOO" out loud while reading. There are serious scenes that really hit you in the feels.

Rae continues to be an excellent main character. She's funny and real. Rae's struggles are very realistic in this novel.. she's had a LOT thrown at her in a very little amount of time and handles it as any human would. She's stressed, she's worried, she's scared - and to top it all off, she's falling in love, which is terrifying! Her struggles are refreshing. No Mary-Sue characters here. Her character develops well throughout the novel.

Speaking of developing! Oh man we get so much development from Sky in this one! Sky.. Oh Sky, the love of my life. He is amazing. You really get to know the quiet bartender from another planet in these pages. Sky and Rae's relationship develops really well, too. (There are a couple of spiiicccy scenes- so prepare yourself. 🔥🥵) I really appreciate the lack of insta-love in here. The relationship between the two of them takes it's time with a slow burn, which I very much prefer in romantic storylines. That said, as mentioned previously, they do absolutely get to spend some.. alone time together (finally!) in this one. Those spicy scenes were really well written, too, I must say. The spice in this novel is more emotionally-invested than I've usually read and it's really nice, actually. Sky is 100% a top five book boyfriend for me.

We also meet a new character- Bast. I have a sneaky suspicion that he will end up being a favorite of many. He's snarky. He's tough. He's sexy. He's got a motorcycle.. and a spaceship. I was immediately into him (NO love triangle though- Thank Goodness.) I can't wait to get more of him in the third novel.

One thing I was especially happy about.. the science fiction elements in this story get more scifi-y in this one, which is awesome. We see more alien tech and we see more of how it's affecting Rae. We hear more about other planets! (Did I mention there's a spaceship? Maybe more than one?)
We see more of the Enil, which honestly have to be one of the most exceptionally original antagonists I've ever read about. They're so creepy.. and cool. Any action scenes between them and our MCs are just written SO well though, very vivid. I see this whole novel playing out in my head like a movie. You can't help it with the skillful way the author writes.

If you can't tell by this rave review- this is 1000% a 5/5 novel for me. It's fast-paced. It's absolutely hilarious (be sure to read the chapter title headings- they're a riot). It's romantic and heartfelt. The characters are so REAL, and it's written so freaking well - Elle is a true wordsmith. I loved it even more than the first. I was a Beta/ARC reader for this as well as the first and I'm already on Elle's butt to give me the third novel already (plllleeeaaaassse 😩) because I genuinely cannot wait to get my hands on more of this story and see how it wraps up!

Eeeeeps, one of my most anticipated reads in 2026 was here and it did not disappoint!!! First of all, thank you to the amazingly talented & one and only Elle for putting me out of my misery by sending me an e-ARC; you were a real life saver, no kidding. Secondly, where did I even begin? This book picked up right where it was left off in book 1, Stardusted: a scifi romcom, and just like the previous story, Rae and Sky were on the run once again, being chased by the scariest supernatural abomination I'd ever read about (a.k.a. the Enil, which made me shake uncontrollably in my boots simply by hearing it), and in the meanwhile, on a sole mission to find Sky's alien partner, Bast.

What drew me in most about this sequel was definitely the new discovery of Rae's mysterious glowing hand and the background story of Sky, oh, and let's not forget the newly joined alien member, Bast. Seriously, Bast was hands-down the most unhinged character I'd ever met and I lowkey wanted to befriend him in reality. His nicknames for Rae were killing me and I found myself constantly looking forward to his rather untimely appearance. #iykyk *giggling*

As for Sky and Rae's romantic development, guys, we were FINALLY getting some juicy parts and their romance was eventually MOVING FORWARD! If you had read Stardusted, you'd know how painfully slowly the romance between them was burning. Thankfully, with Rae's persistent obsession over Sky and Sky's unfriend-like affection toward her, I was so relieved that their relationship was getting somewhere. Of course, that said, they did not get to *that* point until 80% of this book so...yeah, the struggle was real and the sexual tension during the road trip was off the charts, all in true Elle fashion.

Lastly, Starfalling also left us with a cliffhanger but this time, the ending was truly explosive, in my opinion. I was utterly shocked speechless when learning about Rae's new transformation/revelation and so ready for the final installment in this series to see what Sky and Bast's hometown, Pladia, looked like! Besides, I also had a feeling that Bast would probably end up getting stuck with Rae's who-sent-sixty-messages-to-make-sure-she-was-not-abducted-by-aliens best friend, Amelia, in his very own spin-off series so ahhh! Stay tuned for all the goodies and before then, please go pick up this series!!

***Massive thanks to the author for generously abducting me with hot aliens with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.***

Starfalling picks up right from where the events of Stardusted left off. I have to admit, after reading Stardusted, I had high hopes for this book, and started it as soon as I’d finished the first book! DeYesso did not disappoint. I read the entirety of the book in one sitting, and because I started it straight away, the mementom of the story didn’t drop and it fitted together really well.

I’ve seen a couple of reviews that have mentioned that the storyline can be a little repetitive. However, I think that is completely intentional on DeYesso’s part. The repetitivity lets us as readers see and feel the monotony and constant fear that Raven and Sky are experiencing. This, in turn, makes the decisions made in the book by Raven make more sense. Yes, it’s a STUPID decision and she really shouldn’t have done it. BUT, it also heightens her panic and fear. Of course she’s scared, she’s being chased across America by the Men in Black and killer aliens… I think I’d make stupid decisions as well.

That being said, if she even DARES to betray Sky again, I’m going to have to jump into the book and kick her ass! How dare she make our boy sad! 😂

The relationship between Raven and Sky continues at a rate that doesn’t seem forced or rushed. They clearly have very strong feelings for one another, and even when trying to fight them, they still end up culminating to a couple of spicy scenes which were really well written. I like that they don’t just jump straight into bed with each other. The slow burn in the lead up really amped up the tension, so that when it finally happened, we were 100% ready for it!

Bast is a really good edition to the team. Although he seems a bit arrogant and unbearable to Raven to begin with, I really feel that they’re going to become best friends. The banter between them is perfect and he seems to understand her intentions as they get to know each other a bit more. He’s like an annoying brother to her. I’d absolutely love it if he fell for Raven’s best friend Amelia!

When I say that so much goes wrong in this book, I’m not lying. These characters cannot seem to catch a break. They run from one catastrophe to another like they’re trying to win a gold medal in f*ck ups! Even when the meet up with Bast, they only have a little time before they have to start running again.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book. The characters were consistent and continued to be lovable and believable. I also enjoyed the general pacing of the book. The only downside is the long wait I’ll have until book 3… I need it out like yesterday!!

Gas station coffees made just right, alien murder bots, tension and yearning; OH MY! 🤖👽🔥
Remember how we talked about having maybe feelings for that too handsome bartender that actually turned out to be a silver surfer best alien boy? COOL ME TOO; so let's beam back up, earthlings!🛸

Our best sweet girl Raven went from worrying about missing a midterm and how to act in front of her work crush *in roger the aliens Ricky Spanish voice again* Sky Acosta: to abetting grand theft auto, nursing an intergalactic headache from the interstellar Google maps downloaded to her brain, taking a "scenic" road trip in said thefted vehicles to Sky's Pladian friend/brother/pain in our ass who can maybe take out that pesky seizure causing map while also navigating the *will we won't we* tension revolving around her and the undercover alien object of her crush she finds herself on the road with😮‍💨
Between running from uglier Decepticon-esque killer robots (I know right they're already ugly so like WOW), gas station janitor closet hide and seek from the MIB, stolen vehicles on the run and precocious encounters in quiet, musty motels, Raven can barely keep her head on straight. She makes some big mistakes. She's a human. With human feelings. And some of those feelings mean she's really scared sometimes and maybe doesn't make the best choices but like we said she is human after all. And she's finding out just how human (and very NOT human) Sky can truly be and that maybe this might just be more Intergalactic love story then just a crush❤️‍🔥 but he's leaving as soon as they get that star map so it can't possibly work out
Unlllleeeeessssss... But that's gonna be the next book's problem 😉

The tension is building, it's BREAKING. AND THOSE DAMN ROBOTS WON'T GO AWAY AND CAN PEOPLE STOP KNOCKING ON THEIR DOOR FOR THE LOVE OF PLADIA🗣️

Elle, you really did it again. I loved it even more then the first one!👾 Seriously, I am already so ready for Book 3! I just know it's gonna be out of this world 👽

This book did not disappoint! The story kicked off right where Stardusted ended, and is filled with page turning action and adventure. My eyes were glued to the pages, and I had the hardest time putting this book down once I started reading (who needs sleep anyways?). Rae is as hilarious as ever, and boy does she have some of the BEST awkward moments. I can't tell you how many times I laughed out loud while reading! I love her so much.♥️

"Sky and I were out here like some kind of extraterrestrial Bonnie and Clyde. Except not dating. And Bonnie and Clyde robbed banks. And they’d died. I was really trying to survive all this."

Ugh, I am OBSESSED with Rae and Sky together. Their tension is off the charts, and the way their feelings (and hormones) grow naturally during their journey is everything I could ever want in a romance. They are both so sweet, quirky, and genuine. The spicy scenes were beautifully written; every touch was relevant to the plot, and furthered both their physical and emotional connection (and you won't be disappointed by the amount of steamy desire between these two 🔥).

There are so many new alien related mysteries added in this book! I did not see the plot twist at the end coming; I am so interested in what it all means. The way the ending sets the scene for the third book in this series is also really well done, and I am so excited to see how Rae and Sky's story ends!

Thank you for sharing an ARC with me Elle & Rattle the Stars PR! My nerdy little heart has loved every minute of this series.

P.S. - this series is giving me so much nostalgia, I need to have a Roswell marathon stat (the original TV show, of course). The Liz/Max vibes between Rae and Sky are on point! And I'm feeling a potential Michael/Maria vibe coming in book 3! (Bast?! Yes, no?! I need to know 🫣)

Book Title: Stardusted: A Sci-Fi Romcom (It's Definitely Not Aliens)
Author: Ell DeYesso
Genre: Sci-FI/Rom-Com
Publication Date: Feb 12, 2026
Format Reviewed: Kindle ARC
Overall Rating:
★★★★★
Spice Level:
(Rate 1–5 peppers, where 1 = Mild/No Spice and 5 = Extremely Spicy)
Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️
Summary (No Spoilers):
This book picks up right where Stardusted leaves off. This story is super entertaining, fast paced, introduces a new alien character who I loved to pieces because of his sarcasm and fun nicknames for Rae (FMC). The main characters develop more in this sequel, and eventually hit the ONE BED TROPE (#IYKYK). Sky (MMC) has alllll the green flags while Rae (FMC) is a bit more flawed. BUT...considering the extraterrestrial shenanigans going on, she def gets a pass. Also...those Enil can suck it because grrr! This book ends in a cliffhanger but the author does a fantastic job of setting things up for the next book. I can't wait to read more about my fav alien romance duo, Sky and Rae!

What I Loved:
- The book titles (again) had me in stitches!
- Character development was soooo good!
- Plot still feels refreshing, new, is fast paced, and very entertaining!

What Could Be Improved:
- I wouldn't change anything!

Spice Breakdown:
The yearning takes front stage here, but there is a little bit of open door spice that fits in perfect with the storyline!

Who Should Read This Book:
I think because of how this book crosses into several genres, it would honestly appeal to a wide audience!

Final Thoughts:
Perfect book to get out of a reading slump. Funny, witty, has depth to it, and now this FL girl is searching swamp barns for secret alien hideouts!

Would I Read More by This Author? YES YES YES!

Vibes: Slow burn, forced proximity, protective MMC, Found family, alien romance

Starfalling is the second book in the series It's Definitely Not Aliens. And the book it is🔥

First off, let’s talk about Rae and Sky. The slow burn in this series has been torture (in a good way), and watching their relationship actually move forward in this book felt so earned. It’s not just about the spice, though there is spice and it is🔥🔥, it’s more about the genuine emotional connection and how they both navigate all their trauma together. Sky continues to be the green-flag alien boyfriend of our dreams, protective but never overbearing.

The plot picks up right where we left off, throwing us immediately into high-stakes action. We’re back on the run from the Enil (who are still terrifying, by the way), but this time we get a road trip dynamic that adds so much fun to the tension.

And finally Bast is here and oh my god, what a character he is! 😂❤️ He’s snarky, antagonistic vibe balances out Sky and Rae perfectly. And his habit of giving nicknames is just awesome😂 He is the kind of person (alien👀) who can make a person laugh even when they are in a war. The bantering between Rae and Bast is on another level.

This book delivers on everything: action, humor, and some serious romantic payoff. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger that will leave you screaming for answers, but the ride is absolutely worth it. If you need a sci-fi rom-com that doesn't take itself too seriously but still packs an emotional punch, pick this up immediately!

Starfalling is a out of this world masterpiece. You know it’s going to be good when it literally starts off with “I was about to get naked with an alien.” To start things off our fabulous alien book boyfriend and Rae defeat some Enil and steal a car. Had me hooked from page one. We all get our answers as to what happened in Roswell so many years ago.
Their epic roadtrip has all we would want banter, fighting aliens, spicy scenes, and not one but two alien hotties. Sky is still our favorite protective mmc yet much to my liking isn’t an overbearing jerk about it. He caring and torn between his home and his girl. Rae is still our favorite overthinking, loving, smart FMC. She has some great one liners in this one and you can feel her emotions come alive more as you turn the pages. She goes through a lot of issues due to the map and other alien tech issues. That first meeting with Bast epic and had me yelling at him to come back later(if you know you know). His nicknames and banter are sarcastic and endearing at the same time. He may just earn himself book boyfriend status. The spice is spicy and very welcomed. Some absolutely delicious fight scenes, yearning, spice, banter, aliens, tech, destruction and all around extraordinary story that takes you on a ride you’ll never forget. Elle(author) out did herself with this one. The writing is beautiful and the words flow perfectly. Do yourself a favor and take a roadtrip with our favorite alien!

This is an ARC read

This is a scifi-romance potentially a Romantasci. Either way this is like 300 pages of talking about ufo’s aliens, the galaxy, and interpersonal drama. Make sure that’s something you’re into before reading this story

This is book two in the series and unfortunately you CANNOT chaos read this. Book two picks up right where book one left off.

You know what that means, read trip! This is also exactly what this book is. One giant road trip with shitty motels and bad food. It’s wonderful!

Oh! There is also, FINALY, spice in this damn story. It’s kind of fun. Like if you were interested in in alien romances with spice this would be a great beginner for you 😏I personally could’ve used more spice because I wanted almost two whole books for this

We also meet a new character in this second book. A side character named Bast, who happens to also be an alien. We like him. He gives rugged, engineer, with motorcycles. He’s also a smart ass who loves to push buttons. We can’t wait to make him ours 😍

There is battling with the Enil this story, however it’s not nearly as often as in book one. With good reason. They’re trying to hide in book two, so obviously when they fight the Enil it’s because they’ve sucked at hiding.

The pacing for me on this book felt a little faster than book one. It also felt shorter, but I am not sure if that’s true or not. The angst Rae has is still present and the 90’s Roswell TV show vibes are still there.

It’s literally like I just picked up book one and kept reading. The author is amazing. Of course, like book one there’s a cliffhanger 😒and now we are impatiently waiting for book three.

You’ll love this story. Go read it!

Oh my goodness!! 😲

Sky and Raven are back at it again!

The bad aliens attacked, the hot alien blushed, the human glowed and panicked and . . . the spice SPICED! 🥵 Cross country road trips are stressful on a good day so its no wonder that with evil mech suit aliens and secret government agencies after you, letting off steam with your hot alien bartender is bound to happen.

This book had so many emotional ups and downs that you will eat it up. They both have to learn to trust each other while figuring out their feelings in the now and what that might mean in the future. I loved this book even more than the first book if thats possible, and the story isn't even over! I need more of Sky and Raven but I also NEED to know every interaction that is going to happen between Bast and Amelia! 😉

Elle- Thank you so much for including me on your street team. It was an honor to be able to read your story and experience a world you created. Raven embodies the strong woman we all want to be even though we all freak out every once and a while. It's also great to know that I'm not the only one that has an inner monologue that is goofy and slightly unhinged. 🙂 Sky is an all around green flag with the added bonus of blushing. He is caring and wholly understanding. I can't wait for release day so everyone else can experience these two amazing characters. Whatever happens next can't come soon enough. ❤️👽❤️

Starfalling completely swept me up from the first page and didn’t let me breathe until the last. It’s fast, chaotic, emotional, and packed with action in a way that makes you feel like you’re right there on the road trip, in the middle of the roadside battles, unraveling revelations alongside the characters. Rae continues to be one of the most relatable FMCs I’ve read in ages, with her spiraling inner monologues, epic awkward moments, anxieties, and very human reactions to everything happening around her. She feels real in a way that makes every decision hit harder. Sky just keeps raising the bar as a love interest too, proving that protective doesn’t have to mean controlling or domineering. His calm logic, emotional intelligence, and steady presence make the slow burn almost unbearable in the best way. The tension drags out so deliciously that I felt Rae’s frustration in my bones, and when the intimacy finally happens, it feels earned, tender, and deeply connected rather than just thrown in for shock value. The emotional stakes climb even higher when Rae reaches toward her family, and the consequences ripple through everyone in a way that made the story feel even more immersive. I couldn’t put this down, and that ending left me staring at the page needing the final book immediately.

Starfalling takes everything that worked in Stardusted and launches it into orbit. This sequel leans harder into the action, raising the stakes from small-town mystery to full-blown interstellar danger — and it’s such a satisfying escalation.

Raven continues to be such a relatable, grounded protagonist, even as the chaos around her intensifies. Whether she’s facing deadly threats or grappling with feelings she doesn’t fully understand, her reactions feel real. That balance of wit, anxiety, and determination keeps the story emotionally anchored, even when the plot goes cosmic.

And the tension? Absolutely crackling. The slow burn between Raven and Sky deepens here in the best way. Forced proximity, lingering glances, unresolved trust issues — it all builds into something charged and addictive. The romantic stakes rise alongside the physical ones, and it makes every shared moment feel loaded.

The pacing is quicker, the danger feels sharper, and the world expands in ways that make the story feel bigger without losing its character-driven heart. If you loved the humour, banter, and romantic tension of book one, Starfalling delivers more — more action, more emotion, and more reasons to stay invested.

✨ A fast-paced, tension-filled sequel that proves the stars aren’t the only things falling.

Rae and Sky are on the run not only from killer robots but also from the government. Just when they thought they got away from the danger, it catches up to them.

They are going to meet Bast, who turns out to be a bit of a smart ass and has all these nicknames for Rae,he’s the tech genius and he’s going to help to try to decipher the map that’s stored in the palm of Rae’s hand and ultimately for Sky and Bast to find a way home 🪐

💫Rae still can’t get over that Sky is an alien because he’s still human to her, he’s still her Sky, the bartender she still has a huge crush on. Sky wishes that Rae wasn’t in danger and he will do anything to protect her to make sure she survives this.

💫All Rae wants is for her life to go back to normal but after all she’s been through, things will never be the same. No matter what happens, no matter if her time with Sky is short and he’d be leaving she’d rather have the memories than the regrets.

💫Throughout the story we see the attraction building between them, the more Rae gets to know Sky the more she’s falling for him and eventually they give into the burning desire they have for one another because with all the danger they are in, they are living for the moment.

"I feel human... I feel more human than Pladian these days."

4.5 stars

Holy alien babies, Elle really turned up the heat and upped the stakes for this sequel! As much as I enjoyed the first book in this series, I really loved this second act. As Sky and Rae continued to outrun the Enil and License 16, the forbidden yearning between them skyrocketed and slowly blossomed into something neither wanted to acknowledge. The sexual tension between them was a sweet slow burn, but let me just say that Sky is definitely book boyfriend material. I really enjoyed Rae's snarkiness and vulnerability as she struggled to navigate her new reality and her undeniable attraction to an undercover alien. She wasn't perfect, but both Rae and Sky learned to forgive each other as their relationship grew. I thought the pace of this story was perfect as we learned so many new things, and I cannot wait for the next book to see how this story ends🖤

Tropes: alien rom-com, forbidden love, hero with a secret, heroine-in-danger, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, only one bed, evil alien robots, mutual pining, slow burn, STEAMY🔥

ARC Review - I received a copy of this book in advance in exchange for my honest review.

I’m utterly speechless. Elle has yet again knocked it out of the park for me. I have been turning over in my head the different ways to write this review. And I feel like it’s difficult to do so without spoiling too much, but I’ll do my best.

This second book was so much more than I anticipated. It’s emotionally deeper, there’s more tension, and even higher stakes than before.

I knew there was going to be more intimacy between Rae and Sky, but for them to get to that point… there was so so much! And everything after? Ugh. So many emotions. Mistakes were made. So messy… So HUMAN.

Don’t even get me started on Bast. He’s so much fun. I absolutely love his dynamic with the two of them. Prepare yourself for some good laughs.

I cannot get over one of the last scenes (which was so beautifully written) and I absolutely cannot wait to read more and find out what happens next.

I’m so invested in this story and on fully on board for book 3.

Do yourself a huge favor and read this series. Please.

Starfalling by Elle Deyesso absolutely launched me into orbit and then refused to let me land. This is the kind of sci-fi romance that starts soft and sparkly and slowly tightens its grip until suddenly the fate of entire worlds is on the line.

We get a human FMC who absolutely did not sign up to be the chosen one, a fiercely protective alien MMC who is all instinct and loyalty, and a slow-burn romance that simmers before cracking the door open to just the right amount of spice 🌌🔥 Forced proximity with a road trip adventure is always a yes for me, and the rising stakes made every chapter feel bigger than the last.

What really sold this for me was the balance. Romance, action, emotional beats, and cosmic danger all woven together without one overpowering the other. By the end, I was fully invested, slightly stressed, and already needing the next book (in the works)

If you love protective MMCs, accidental destiny, and romance written among the stars, this one is an easy five-star read 💫

Starfalling picks up with Sky and Raven on the run, escaping their pursuers and heading across the country to meet up with Bast—Sky’s partner and a brilliant tech specialist. Between alien threats and determined human forces hunting them down, the tension never lets up. I was so completely invested in where this story was headed that I devoured the book in a single day and now the wait for the final installment will be unbearable.

Sky remains the absolute sweetheart MMC of the series—a walking green flag, just as Raven describes him. His unwavering kindness and loyalty were such a grounding force amid the chaos. Raven, on the other hand, completely shattered my heart. Her pain and fear while living life on the run felt raw and deeply emotional, and I couldn’t help but feel how hard it was to be radio silent for so long.

Bring on book three! I’m officially on pins and needles, I’ll be counting the days when I get a date for book three to find out how this incredible series concludes.

After fleeing from an attack by one species of alien, Raven Barrister finds herself on a road trip from the Midwest to Florida with the bartender from work that she's been crushing on for months (who just so happens to be a different species of alien). Why? So his brother can hopefully figure out how to get the alien tech out of her body that she accidentally absorbed during the attack.

So they're dodging mysterious government agents and more evil aliens, and committing grand theft auto to keep them off their trail while the tech inside her keeps making Rae have splitting headaches, weird dreams and other concerning symptoms.

The action and angst is almost nonstop in Starfalling as Rae and Skye travel to meet up with Bast. And the slow burn romance keeps heating up as well. Bast is a snarky bad-boy type (though I'm pretty certain he's got a soft, gooey center under all his snarky armor). And Skye keeps being the greenest flag book boyfriend ever.

I can't wait for book 3! Thank you, Elle DeYesso for the opportunity to advance read. ❤️

Starfalling absolutely consumed me. From the first chapter, it throws you right back into the chaos, and I loved every second of it. The pacing is fast, the stakes are high, and the emotional weight? Heavy in the best way.

Rae continues to be one of my favorite FMCs. She’s messy, anxious, funny without trying to be, and so painfully real. Her inner thoughts feel authentic, and every choice she makes carries real consequences. You feel her growth.

And Sky. The slow burn between Rae and Sky is exquisite. The tension builds so naturally, and when things finally shift between them, it feels earned. Nothing is rushed. Nothing feels forced. Just longing, connection, and chemistry that simmers until it can’t anymore.

I also loved how the alien mysteries deepen in this book. Just when you think you understand what’s happening, the story pivots and raises the stakes again. That ending? I need the next book immediately.

If you love sci-fi romance with emotional depth, protective but not controlling love interests, road trip chaos, and a slow burn that actually burn this is for you.

🌶🌶

👽Broody men (boys?)(aliens?)
♥️Twice the spice as book 1
💥Twice the action as book 1

This book starts up right where the first one left off so be sure to read in order.

This was so much more than book 1 for me. The slow burn was definitely not as slow as book 1. There is more tension and more desire and more spice. There is more action. Mistakes were made.

"WELL, WELL, WELL. IF IT ISN’T THE CONSEQUENCES OF MY ACTIONS"

Now we must suffer those consequences, get out of this mess, and maybe even.. get home?

“The very same one who sent sixty unanswered text messages? She sounds real stable, Biscuit.”

Bast is hilarious. He reminds me of my brother. Calling me everything in the book except my name. 😅 That is how you know you've been accepted.

I'm so invested in this series that I NEED book 3. Like yesterday. 😁

Thank you to the author and publisher for the ARC of this book. All thoughts and feelings are my own.

Starfalling was the perfect sequel to Stardusted. I’m Starfalling you follow Raven and Sky on their journey as they try to escape the Enil and License 16 and try to get to Sky’s partner Bast so they can all figure out what to do next.

Starfalling was such a great mixture of romance, action and freaking aliens! You get to meet Sky’s partner Bast who is that friend, who we love dearly and is a great friend but kind of just an asshole. We all have one, or had one at some point in time. You get A LOT of action with the Enil encounters. Elle again was amazing at describing them so it so easy to picture what these crazy robotic/alien type beings look like.
There is a smoldery hot slow burn throughout the fist book into the second and boy is the slow burn with every smoldery second. Their banter?! Hilarious! Raven is sassy and I love her so much. I loved this book. It held my attention throughout the whole thing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Starfalling was such a fun ride and a really enjoyable blend of sci-fi adventure and slow-burn connection. Elle DeYesso creates a vibrant, imaginative backdrop that makes the world feel big and exciting while still keeping the focus on the characters.

The highlight for me was the banter and chemistry. The dialogue has so much personality, and the tension builds in a way that keeps you invested without feeling rushed. I loved watching the relationship unfold piece by piece, with plenty of yearning and emotional payoff along the way.

The pacing worked well overall, and while there were moments I wanted just a bit more depth or time with certain elements, it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the journey. It’s the kind of story that’s easy to fall into and hard to put down.

If you love sci-fi romance with heart, humor, and a satisfying slow burn, this one is definitely worth checking out.

4 stars: banter, space vibes, and a connection that keeps you reading.✨🚀
