The Toxic Consort #2

The Vampire King’s Discarded Consort

Rate this book
For a better reading experience, please read book 1, The Vampire Prince's Toxic Consort, before reading this book.

The first human royal consort, Lucius Rosenfield, thinks he has found his happily ever after with his husband, Vampire King Dorian. However, his happiness only lasts for several months.

After Lucius’s treacherous secret mission is exposed by an enemy, the royal consort falls from grace, loses his husband’s love and respect, and is imprisoned for a year, waiting to be divorced and executed.

Just when Lucius thinks things can’t possibly get worse, he wakes up one day to find himself branded as a slave. Stripped of royal privileges, he begins to witness the true horror and cruelty of a world where humans are dominated and used as livestock firsthand.

With help from a werewolf friend, Lucius narrowly escapes a fate worse than death and leaves Eternia. But as someone who has been “defiled” by vampires, he finds no welcome, consolation, or even safety back home, either.

Will he ever see Dorian again? Will Dorian ever forgive his betrayal? And can love prevail in a world filled with hatred, pain, and remorse, when another war looms between humanity and vampires?

I’m an introvert with a black hole for a brain. I live in the middle of the woods, work a stressful and unstable artist day job, and try to find my sanctuary in the different worlds I create at night.

I never really got past my angsty phase, so readers will find tons of angst in my stories, but rest assured, they will also land on a happy ending eventually, should they choose to jump on this ride with me. My stories are usually MM romance, mature, intense, and sometimes, very thematically dark. My writing genres range across fantasy, romance, sci-fi, and thriller.

OMG.

So much angst!

I still love Lucius more than every other character! He just deserves better — a better family, a better situation, a better partner… everything!

And FINALLY someone who wants him for who he is, for how he is, and has nothing to do with his holy brother — ANTON!! I just… ship them a little, lol. But I get it — Lucius is like my child, and if he wants to be with Dorian, fiiiiineeee, I guess. You do you, baby. Si eso te hace feliz. ❤️

This book felt so short! Or maybe I just devoured it in one day because I had to know what would happen next. So addictive!

And that final chapter — the title of the chapter itself… I’m so excited to see a fully unleashed, boss energy-moment REVENGE final book. I like my favorite characters grey — almost black, anyway.

D Y I N G to have the next and final book in my hands!!

I just didn’t give it a higher rating because I didn’t like that Lucius hesitated so much. I mean… the vampires are gross, the humans too — he literally didn’t have a chance to survive so many times and survived just by pure luck (and Asmodian doing, of course), but he still hesitated! I’m sure in the next book we’ll see why he hesitated, and we’ll all regret a little the choices he made. But come on, he literally didn’t have another choice. This could’ve happened sooner! I get it, though — the last chapter made it worth it. I was just a little frustrated. In every chapter I was like: DRINK THE BLOOD! lol

Outstanding!!!

Wonderful read! Unfortunately I did not realize that all 3 books were not out yet but could not stop myself from continuing to end of book 2. The story building alone was worth it, but the edge of your seat intrigue and the love between the MC was what kept me from putting the book down. The good people found amongst the horrible characters makes you want to believe in the good in others and also reminds you of the atrocities that are committed in the name of religion and so called survival of “all”. Am so looking forward to book3. Keep up the good work!!!

Great read, massive vocabulary, very intriguing story and characters.

Love it! I like reading something that gives me new words to discover. Not to mention a story that grabs you and keeps you interested until you plow through both books and are disappointed that the third one is not out yet!

Short one huh

This book skipped around with time a lot. The writing was improved from the first book. I spent less time critiquing the writing this time and enjoyed the story much more. The gore was, as with the last book, very very well written.

I will be reading the next book when it comes out. Already pre-ordered itA

I loved this story and I love Lu. Still the same problem with the narration but at least it was least confusing than the first one

I want the next part now and this just released so I’m cooked

Julian continues to suffer but remains strong. Again I’ve enjoyed the overall storyline and the world building is excellent. I need an exceptionally happy ending please
