When life becomes impossible, all that’s left is to fight back.
Even when it costs you everything.
Fox Addams had a simple life, living in a quiet apartment and working as a construction supervisor in Boston. Then he met her. She came with a son and a lot of old baggage. Before he realized what a bad idea it was, she had moved them into his apartment.
He could handle the baggage because her son was worth all of the drama. Except, she’s becoming more contentious by the day. How much more can he take before he has to escape? And can he save a small boy in the coming storm?
Bailey has stood on the sidelines most of her life. Not much was left when you had a sister who sucked up all the energy in the room. She also knows the damage the woman can cause if you cross her. That’s why Bailey has been keeping her friendship with her sister’s boyfriend, Fox, a secret.
The farther her sister spirals out of control, the more he’s come to rely on her for help. With a killer on the loose taking his sister’s attention, an overbearing construction client, an escalating violent relationship, and a newfound family in town, she may be his only chance to ride out the storm.
Avery Samson grew up on a ranch outside of a small west Texas town. Since she could remember, she’s had her face stuck in a book. High School graduation found her leaving ranch life for the big city.
After living all over the state of Texas, she now finds herself back on one of the family ranches near Dallas with her husband surrounded by cattle. A lot of them. They’re everywhere! When not traveling or reading, she spends her time writing.
Avery would love for you to follow her. She’s everywhere (just like those damn cows.)
I inhaled this book as quickly as I did the previous four books in the series. I love how Samson builds on each character with each novel. Even though there are elements of the supernatural, they don't overpower the stories.
In 'Unbearable' Knox and Memphis (and their brother-in-law Dex) track down more half-siblings and discover Dover and her twin brother Fox. While this novel centers on Fox and his erratic girlfriend Brooke, there's a lot of movement with Dover which nicely sets up the next novel.
Things get complicated when Fox gets swept up in a case that Dover is investigating. Adding fuel to the fire is Bailey, Brooke's sister who Fox can't stop thinking about.
This was a fast-paced read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Dover is a detective in the Boston Police Department. She is trying to capture a serial killer who leaves male bodies on school grounds with a medallion around his neck. Her brother Fox has a girlfriend with a little boy Ethan. Over time, Fox prefers his sister after the girlfriend becomes impossible to please. To complicate matters, two brothers show up claiming to be related to Fox and Dover. The brothers have supernatural powers that help in the investigation. This has a lot of love and crimes to solve. Ethan is a delight. Great story that keeps you guessing.
FOX, BROOKE, AND BAILEY – (A CHILD MEANS EVERYTHING)
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.
This story is touching as it involves a child used as a pawn in a diabolical mother’s plans to assist in murder. Ethan is the innocent child and Fox, Brooke’s boyfriend, and Bailey, Ethan’s aunt, are trying to do what’s best for Ethan and Fox. This story shares a cheating and true love. It also reintroduces Knox, Memphis, and Dex. I love this series and am glad to see it coming back. I hope there are other siblings to read about.
This is a fast paced read that pulled me in right from the start. I really enjoyed Fox and Bailey's story. Things are pretty complicated for Fox as his long lost brothers come into the picture to help with his sister's investigation. There's lots of danger and mystery. I really enjoyed this installment in the Inhuman Protectors series and can't wait for Dover's story!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
His life is going to change big time when they come into his life. She has been on the outside and she has maxed friends with her sister boyfriend. Her sister is going downhill fast and life is getting very complicated. See just where it will all lead I received an advance copy from hidden gems and a powerful read
This is the fifth book in the Inhuman Protectors series. This is an interesting story with elements of the supernatural. It held my interest from start to finish. I enjoyed Fox and Bailey’s story.
A must read book! Detailed, intense, well written, storyline with exciting twists and turns throughout. Characters were relatable. I enjoyed following them on their journey. Read in one sitting because it was that good.
A quick and easy read with slight supernatural vibes as Fox Addams finds himself torn between two women, the one he lives with who’s growing more and more erratic by the day and her sister, the woman he should be with, something he’s coming to realise more and more but in staying with her sister he’s protecting an innocent child.
Unbearable was the fifth book in the Inhuman Protectors series but it was the first one I’ve read so while I enjoyed this story I do believe I’d have liked it more if I had read the previous books first for more background on Fox’s new found family who shared his and his sister’s uncanny abilities. I loved the underlying plot involving a serial killer and the connection with Fox via his sister, the detective investigating the case, but I felt the romance element wasn’t really central to the overall story and if anything Unbearable was more setting the scene for Fox’s sister’s Dover and Sean’s upcoming story as it continues the serial killer plot.
On a side note I know a lot of people don’t like the idea of cheating in a romance, but here Fox’s relationship with his live in partner was more a case of him tolerating her to provide a safe place for her son which was how he had met her sister as they worked together to protect him.
