Unbelievably, I loved Dylan more than Troy! As a character Dylan had all the faults and vices Troy had but he also had a humour and lovable, soft side.
I had to drop the fifth star only because I felt this plot was a little slow to start for Dylan and Raven. I think we hit around 40% and Dylan was leaving town when I was desperate for something to really ramp up the heat between them. I know they had to take things slow for Raven and it was totally worth the wait. I felt Ravens fear that Dylan would reject her and Harper but when they were together, they were perfect.
I think my heart broke a little for Raven in this book and I think it was a very sensitive topic that was very brave of S.Kline to write. How much research went into the recovery of a rape victim I don't know, but that said, Raven's emotions felt very real to me.
I thought Troy (the book, not the character) was full of mob action but Dylan blew that out of the water. At times there was so much action my head was spinning.
I felt I got to know the 'family' better in this book and felt less confused with which character was which and how they were related. I warmed to Ethan a lot more so I'm hyped to read his story next!
I was a little disappointed we didn't get to hear anything about Sean even though so much time passed, enough to see the first death in the family, yet Sean was kind of left in limbo.
But on the whole this series has TOTALLY gripped me. I want to read about ALL the characters stories, including Addie & Sean. It's fair to say this author can't write fast enough to quench my thirst for the family. Another fantastic read! Bring on the next one!

My first thoughts after reading Dylan..OMG OMG OMG!!! Serous book hangover after this book. After reading S. Kline's first book Troy I didn't think she could do better than that. Then came Dylan and BAM! Grand Slam!! This book had everything Troy had and more!
Dylan is the kind of bad boy every girl wants to have in her life. He's tough, he's loyal, he's caring, he's trustworthy, he's hot as hell and when it comes to his "family" and those he cares about, he will protect them with his last breath. And he wants to protect Raven. Raven the dark haired beauty catches his eye and embeds herself into his memory. He can't get her off of his mind,so when the opportunity to finally see her again arrives he is more than happy. But Raven is broken. Having lived a life that no young girl should have to live, with a mother who's addiction consumes her, Raven is interested in the extremely attractive Dylan but is afraid to let herself become involved with him. Can Dylan with his calm patient way, soothe the pain of Raven's painful past? Can he mend the broken Raven and make he his in every way. And, will Raven accept who and what Dylan is when she find out about his "family"?

Dylan picks up where Troy leaves off, giving you more of Troy and the rest of the Fianna Fail family as well as their "business", closing some doors and opening a whole lot more. To say that I anxiously await the next book in the series is an understatement. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I highly recommend this author and her Fianna Fail: Soldiers of Destiny series!

This is the second book in the Fianna Fail: Soldiers of Destiny series. I would recommend reading Troy first because the story starts with Troy and continues through Dylan.

Dylan is a hot ladies man, loyal and the main drug dealer for The Fianna Fail organization. The only women he thought he would love is his mom until his attention is caught by a dark haired beauty.

Raven has had a painful and tragic life. Suffering abuse by her step father that her drug addict mom knew about but Raven is strong. She is just biding her time till she is eighteen.

Dylan was able to show his softer side with Raven by helping her overcome her fears of a sexual relationship by giving her control when they first made love.

Can Dylan accept Raven's baggage?
Can Raven accept Dylan's profession?

Dylan grabbed my attention from the very first chapter keeping me interested and on the edge of my seat till the very last word. This was a great book and I truly enjoyed reading it. I'm looking forward to reading Ethan's story next.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Sorry to offend but HOLY F@ING $HIT BALLS!!!! I was just recently recommended to read this author's books and O.M.G. they are just unbelievably excellent. Dylan picks up after Troy ends and BAM! let's get right into who he wants....and who let's him know she won't be sleeping with him. Has Dylan met his match with Raven? Can each of them trust the other to stick around if the truth is revealed about their lives and lifestyles? The hunt also continues for Callie and OMG the suspense had me dreading each new paragraph. Danger is lurking....who is at risk? You know something bad is going to happen, but to who? So many feelings are stirred up in this story.Kudos to S. Kline on a brilliant book #2. You can't pass this one up. If you liked Troy....Dylan is even better!

DEVASTATING BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY! It has taken me a few days after finishing to be able to properly articulate what I wanted to say about this book. I was so excited to read this book after loving Troy, book 1 in the series, so much. I do have to say that I was a little worried that this book would not live up to the hype I had built up but it went well beyond what even I could imagine.
This book picks up where Troy ended, so you really can’t read this series out of order, or else you really won’t get the effect of the background story that underpins this book.

Dylan knows what he is. He is a drug runner for the Fianna Fail. He is living large with easy women, easy cash and respect that cannot be bought. He is loyal to the family and loves what he does. Even after watching his best friend find the love of his life and settle down, he has no intentions on following suit.

“I can’t imagine every loving someone the way they clearly love each other.”

What he does not expect is to be knocked for six by one glimpse of Raven across a crowded party.

“..I know this girl is nothing like the girls I...toss away. This girl won’t settle for being disposable. It’s a shame, because I can’t see myself ever wanting more...”

Raven is not interested in his advances or status or what it means for her to be with him and shoots him down. In reality, Raven is not interested in any man. She is hiding secrets that no-one can know about. Even though it is destroying her soul, she cannot let others see what is haunting her every waking moment. She does what she can to survive her circumstance without spreading the poison.

“It’s my own world of beauty that can’t be penetrated by the demon that invades my life of a daily basis.”

It is apparent after only meeting once that Dylan and Raven both have a profound effect on each other and are drawn to each other like moths to a flame. Both Dylan and Raven’s realise their feelings are foreign to anything that they have experienced before.

“I’ve never experienced this before, and my body and mind are at war with each other” ~Raven
“I need to get control of this violent need to protect Raven that’s raging through me. It’ll properly scare the hell out of her. Hell, it scares the hell out of me.” ~Dylan

Without giving too much of the plot away – a major life event happens that blows the lid on all the secrets which have been hidden and lurking beneath the surface for far too long. Once the lies have been exposed, life changes drastically for both Dylan and Raven. There was a twist that took my breath away and I could not help but feel the raw emotions for all the characters involved. Both are forced to confront issues which have been put on the backburner. If they want to give their relationship a go they have to move past what has previously held them back and rely on each other’s strength to get them through. Can their relationship be strong enough to survive the oncoming storm or will their demons engulf them completely?

Dylan grew into his role of lover and protector of Raven. Once he admitted that he was beyond sunk by Raven, there was no stopping him. He came out in all his alpha, dominant, protective glory. He knew what he wanted and was willing and able to adapt for his girl.

“Raven has no idea the amount of power she holds over me already. F!@#, even I didn’t really want to think about what all I would do for her...”

For me, Raven was the epitome of a strong and selfless female character. That she was willing to do and sacrifice anything so that those around her do not have to suffer unnecessarily underpins her throughout this book.

If I had to sum this book up to a couple of words to convince you, I would say that this book made me FEEL.

S Kline took me on an emotional journey that devastated me, had me on the edge of my seat in suspense, had me smiling and had me fanning myself. She made me live the emotional journey of the characters as if it was my own and had me invested in the story from the very first page. But please take note of her warning for this book, as it really may contain triggers for some readers.

It is a mixture of emotion, action and romance bundled into explosive books. I recommended this book to ALL smutty romance lovers who don’t mind a side of grittiness with their story.

“Life is about letting go, trusting and realizing that even if you get screwed over, you learn from it. Life is about more than playing safe. I don’t want someone I can live with. I want someone I can’t live without.”

This is book two in this series. This book has content that may offend some people. There is rape, violence, drugs, sex, and romance. This is Dylan’s story. He is Troy’s best friend and his job in the organization is running drugs. He lives a little more simply than the others. He lives in an apartment above a store. He bought his mother a house near the beach. He has been taking care of her since her accident; he hired a live in nurse for her and visits her often. He has never been in a relationship, has just has one night stands. It’s easier that way; he doesn’t have to explain anything. Then he meets Raven. She is his buddy Ethan’s girlfriend’s cousin. He wants to see again and there is something different about her that he just can’t put his finger on. Raven is attracted to Dylan too but she has her own secrets that are worse than his. She can’t let herself be interested in him. Raven’s home life is horrible and she doesn’t tell anyone about it. She is afraid of what people with think of her and how they will treat her once they learn the truth so she keeps it to herself. Raven’s life is about to change in more ways than one. Dylan is going to help her like she thought no one ever would. Raven brings out this protective instinct in Dylan that he has never felt before. This story was great, I actually liked it a little more than the first one. Dylan is so laid back and calm it was great to see the way he accepted Raven. They had their fair share of things to work through because of her past but he didn’t let he down once. He made sure she knew how he felt about her and that to him her past didn’t make him see her differently. Raven has been through so much it was great to see her get a happily ever after in the end, she really deserved it. You get to learn a little more about Troy and Kaci’s story as well, also more about Ethan and his girl. I am excited to read the next book in the series when it comes out. The characters have me hooked and I can’t wait to read more about them. There is this fierce loyalty between them. They are learning that things may need to change now that they are having families and are still in the organization. I am curious to see how the handle things in the future. They live in a dangerous world and want nothing more than to protect what they love most.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

Book 2 contines a little after book, Kaci is pregnant Troy is a happie chappie and its nusiness as usual for Fianna Fáil.

Dylan catches sight of Raven at a party and is totally and utterly smitten. Raven, however, needs to stay away from Dylan. She is hiding secrets, and is in a situation that no one wants to be in. When Dylan discovers what that is, its stunning in its hatred, its anger. Not to Raven, FOR Raven. No one ever stood up FOR Raven before, not even her mother. Dylan never felt the need to stand up for anyone before, other than Fianna Fáil.

It didn't seem as long as Troy, but Amazon says Troy is 256 pages and this one 255 pages. So they are the same lenghts. But Dylan's story packs quiet a punch. It comes with an over 18 tag, and should also carry a trigger warning. Underage Rape, abuse and drug use all appear in this book and it makes for hard reading. Difficult, rather than badly written, because the writing is amazing. It had me crying for Raven in the first quarter, cheering for her in the second and third quarter and crying for them both in the final quarter.

It has plenty of action, both in and out of the bedroom, although, now writing that, it makes me think there wasn't much actual bedroom action. What there is kept me page turning till the end and I read this book in a single sitting.

Its written from both Dylan and Raven's POV, in the first person, but it didn't bother me here. It also has some from Ethan and Trisha, Raven's cousin, and leads nicely into the next book.

It is as good as, but different to Troy, and I can't quite put my finger on why. Maybe its becasue Raven isn't Fianna Fáil, she is outside of all that in the beginning. I dunno. BUT it's still an awesome book, and I look forward to Ethan's book. He and Trisha had quite a bit to say here, so their book is going to be another good one!

Dylan, hot, sexy, ripped and family of the Fianna Fail mafia… Dylan is the drug runner……

Young but has a heart of gold loves him mum beyond life. She is the one and only women he thought he would ever love until he meets Raven. His mum was injured in a serious car accident when Dylan was just a boy, his Aunty came to take care of him and his mum until he turned 18 then he was gone and never looked back!!

Raven very young and very broken she has had a bad start in life. Her mother is a drug addict and watches her husband rape and abuse Raven, but Raven is strong and will do whatever she needs to do for Harper her sister? Well that’s what you think!!

Raven is very broken can’t stand to be touched by a man until Dylan comes along……

Can Dylan heal Ravens broken soul?

Can Dylan deal with all the baggage that comes along with Raven?

We also get to see a little bit of Troy and Kaci from book #1 who we love which is great…..

There are so many twists and turn in this book. There were tears, parts where we didn’t want to keep reading because we were scared of what was coming up next. There were scandals, pregnancy’s, births, deaths heart-break and heart ache beyond repair but we loved every minute of it and couldn’t put it down til the end……

We love S. Kline’s writing style and the way she can take you to that place and make you feel what they’re feeling and hurt when they hurt. You find yourself so captivated by the book you don’t know what’s going on around you!

Thank you for another amazing book we can’t wait to see what’s up next!!

description

I'm not quite sure I took a real breath for at least the 20% of this installment of the Fianna Fáil's series. There was so much going on in such a short period of time. A lot of "outside" things were being dealt with and it just seemed like the boys never stopped running from one sticky situation to the next...and I loved it.

We meet Dylan in Troy's book and I just loved him. With his easy smile and humor, he makes tough times not seem as bad. But don't let the easy going, smiley face wearing facade fool you, this boy is fierce and loyal. He also has a bit of a reputation with the ladies, until a dark haired girl sticks up for herself at a party.

Raven's story is tragic. Her mother is douche bag, her step-father is a nasty, nasty man. I hate them for her. She didn't ask for her life to suck but it does, and she is quietly biding her time taking the cruelty until she can finally leave. She doesn't know how to be loved or accept kindness because she has never really had it before. And she surely doesn't know what to do with Dylan.

These two fall quickly for each other, but Dylan leads a life that Raven wants no part of. With threats surrounding the Fianna Fáil boys and constant struggle can Dylan even be the type of man that she deserves? I really enjoyed their journey and I am completely addicted to this series. I can't wait for the next installment because there are things that are not settled and another certain someone who needs to work his life out.

~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~

Man, this book was very difficult to put down. Once I started it, I needed to finish it. When you start reading this, you are automatically sucked in, and you don't want the book to end. You need more of Dylan. You need more of Raven. But more importantly, you need more of the family that will do anything to protect their own.

This is the first book that I had read in the series. I should have read Troy first, I don't think you have too, but jut to get some good background on what is going on. It gives you a little synopsis, but this is a continuation story. I am going to go back and purchase Troy.

Dylan, in my opinion, is a book about finding that one thing that you just can't live without. In this case, Dylan can't live without this Angel that he sees at a party. But will she accept him for who he is, and what he does.

Raven is damaged. She has secrets that she doesn't want anyone to know about. She never wants to go home, and she will never love. She is beyond damaged.

S. Kline is a fantastic writer. I know that when I read her books I will get a great story. I have never been disappointed in her books. You won't either!!

In this instalment of the Fianna Fáil series we have Dylan's story. It picks up around 9 months afar the first book finishes. So far, I think I like Dylan the best. He is the group's comedian and tries to keep things light and easy all the time. He falls for a petite brunette that has had it tough growing up. He is not looking for love, and neither is Raven for that matter, but they both know that there is something special between them. Things don't run smoothly with working for the mob and coming from a shitty background. They know it won't be an easy road in this relationship, but will it work out?

Again this book has some tough issues that are brought forward so be warned, it is not all roses - but neither is real life. More action is developing with the problems the mob has, and Dylan, Troy and the other mob brothers are put into a spin a few times.

I enjoyed the humor and tender moments between Dylan and Raven. I am also excited for the next books release.

I received a copy for an honest review.

oooh! I like this one a lot more than Troy.
It's darker, right from the get go, my interest was peeked instantly. I am a massive fan of dark, edgy reads. This ticked those boxes.
but it also has a hell of a lot of love in it.
Dylan is a messed up loveable rogue. Badass, beautiful and bloody brilliant!
Raven is so strong, yet broken. Such a wonderful lead female.
Another reason I liked this more than Troy; we get a better sense of all the characters. Both Ethan and Sean's stories have started to evolve, the Fianna Fail is coming to life, we see more of the outside world and as for Addie...well, that will be interesting!!
I am sooooo looking forward to Ethan's story! I've got a feeling it's going to darker and dirtier and be my favourite!

This is book 2 in the series and its Dylan's story.
What a story it is but to be honest it's Ravens story that pulled my heart apart. My heart was thumping so loud reading this. I was hoping for a happy ending. However this story is action packed and we get to read about the other characters we met in book one.

I rarely put my progress up on goodreads but I just had to with this book. As much as I loved book one this book was brilliant. More angsty and to me more emotional. I need Ethan's story now... Pretty please.

Oh Dylan, you gorgeous man hunk.

In Troy's book, Dylan comes off as the joker, someone that doesn't take things seriously, but in this book, we see another side of Dylan, and it makes you fall in love with him.

This second book is definitely a lot darker then the first book, a lot more happening.

And Poor Raven, this book deals with a lot of emotions, and disturbing topics, but that are very much a part of everyday life for some. So its not an easy read. So be warned.

I say again...WHY DID I WAIT THIS LONG TO READ THESE TWO BOOKS. i am looking forward to Ethan's book.

Finished in one sitting

This is just what I needed to get me out of my book funk. I loved Troy and now I love Dylan just as much. I felt captured from the moment I started it. It has been a while where I could sit down and read a book entirely in one day. If you have be read Troy you need to do so before reading about Dylan. I am interested to see what happens after all the events in this story have taken place. Bring on Ethan.

~*~ Obsessed by Books arc given in exchange for an honest review ~*~

"This is completely f@cking perfect. I glance around the table and I'm filled with the deepest sense of belonging that rocks me to the inner most depths of my tortured soul...This is my family. It's not traditional, but it's mine, and I will do everything in my power to protect what's mine. Down to my last breath."

And Dylan really would sacrifice himself for anyone he loves. He is the humorous yet dependable right hand man of Fianna Fail, a drug runner and a soldier of destiny. He is relied upon to protect his Family, providing back up for Ethan, Troy and Sean. With his own messed up childhood he places his rank within the organisation as a priority as they are the only family he has ever had. He is Troy's best friend and everyone respects him. He lightens the grimness of some of the scenes and at times it's easy to forget the part he plays. His boxer shorts had me smiling throughout a scene where they were in jeopardy of becoming toast! This story is cleverly written to intertwine drama, danger, suspense and humour into one lovingly crafted story. It follows on directly from Troy, book one in this series, and I totally recommend reading them in order.

Fiannna Fail owns Palms, Florida. They are an organised crime family that owns the police, runs drugs and whores and everything in between. Troy, Ethan and Dylan are the next in line for the throne of the empire and have been raised in the brutality and expectation of taking over from a young age. Each of them honed and trained in killing, subterfuge and stealth. In this novel we learn just how well these men work together as a unit to take out all threats to their Family. Hunting down the threat and seeking retribution for the death of Troy's mother the boys continue to track down the perpetrator...

The ongoing plot is developed well and has a tantalizing blend of tension, suspense to make the cat and mouse game played totally enthralling. Add to this a chance meeting of a broken Angel and you have Dylan's story. He falls from the moment he sees her...something catches his awareness and his heart is taken. Having watched his best friend
become pussy whipped Dylan is fast to know what is happening to him.

Raven, who is Trisha's cousin, convinced to go to a party where she crosses paths with D. The way she instantly responds to him terrifies and confuses her as she is living a nightmare yet Dylan manages to stir a deep longing inside her. Thrown together by the meddling Trisha who is unaware of the daily torment Raven suffers, life drastically changed course as Ravens mother ODs. The scabs are ripped mercilessly away to leave open wounds but can Dylan help to heal her?

Can this broken Angel be saved by a tarnished anti hero? Are the threats to the Family too great to overcome? Not everyone will survive and there will be blood...lots of it. I am not ashamed to admit I had tears rolling down my cheek reading the horror of Raven's life and the events that had shaped her. She instantly became a favourite character when she punched a man in her introductory scene! She is sassy and a fighter. A true match to Dylan's fun loving yet honorable character. This book had me smiling, chewing my nails and peaking out from under my duvet...

Another 5 gut wrenching star read.

Let me just say that I was such a big fan of Troy (the first book to the Fianna Fail: Soldier's of Destiny series) and of the author S. Kline; so for my personal pleasure, I was saving reading my advanced copy for when I was ready to be blown away. To my frustration, I kept started it to then be pulled away by daily life, but I righted that wrong and started last night. I could not put it down until I was done, even when wee hours came around. The loss of sleep was so worth it! I thought all day about what I wanted to write about Dylan Trent and Raven Vendell's story, and the intensity that was experienced while reading it: such passion, compassion and the unconditional love between all the characters, no just the two main characters, but then to get so grossly angry and situations that no person should go through, especially an adolescent. Being a mother, I wanted to reach in the book myself and right some horrid wrongs. This is an intense read, did I mention that?

The story comes down to this: you will be drawn into the story, swept away with their need, and enamored with these characters, because Kline has crafted an intensely thrilling, and well crafted story of the Irish Mafia: Fianna Fail. All the Danger, intrigue, failures and successes are vividly portrayed, and breath taking.

Dylan and Raven's story is so heart breaking and warming at the same time, but keep your hankie free because your heart strings will be yanked hard. Raven, a girl so broken that she does not view herself as worthy of Dylan's affection and that she is complete irreparably broken. Dylan, a broken boy himself from previous life experiences, learns to work through the pain, and to use it to be stronger. Coming upon this beautiful woman, is like walking into a wall for Dylan, could she be his ONE? This not normal for Dylan, the one night stand aficionado, this will shake him to his core. He needs to, no strike that, he craves to: love her, protect her, and to right the wrongs for her. Overall, he wants to keep her, but she is so stifled by her life experiences that she may not accept his eagerness to love her. Can Dylan work through his incessant need to protect her, but still keep his Fianna Fail a secret? Can Dylan compromise and give her what she needs? Will Raven be open to allowing someone else to help shoulder the heavy weight of life with her, to open up on her own secrets and torments? I sincerely beseech you, do not miss out on a great love story, and enjoy Dylan, my new favorite book boyfriend!

There were three quotes that burned into me, the need to share them, but I will give you two:
Dylan to Raven: "Not all angels are innocent. Some are just as broken as we are, but their faith is strong, and I may not know everything about you, yet, but I know you're strong."

Raven to her cousin Trisha: "...How can I let myself fall for him if I'm keeping something like that between us? Life is about letting go, trusting and realize that even you get screwed over, you learn from it. Life is about more than playing it safe. I don't want to find someone I can live with, I want to find someone I can't live without."

*Gifted for an honest review* 4 stars

I was eager to get my hands on this after reading and reviewing the first in the series Troy. He features heavily in this book along with the rest of the “family” and I liked that very much. The characters are all inter connected and it makes for a better read in my opinion. As Troy’s story continues we are thrust into the bad boy Dylan’s life as he tries to make his way through his own life. Whilst he doesn’t necessarily re-evaluate he most certainly finds a girl that has him questioning his man whore ways. Initially scoffing at Troy and how “pussy whipped” he is, he finds himself in the same boat.
There’s a lot going on in this book as it continues from where they last left off. Looking for Callie, who shot Troy in the chest. She’s still on the run and the family is still trying to track her down. Raven and Dylan have a chance meeting at a party, somewhere she doesn’t feel comfortable. I have to say that Raven’s story is extremely heart breaking and pathetically tragic. You get an instant connection with her character through sympathy yet also anger at what she has had to endure. Throw into the mix little Harper and you are instantly rooting for them. I did feel however they got into their groove a little too quick, then again an author runs the risk of losing a reader in the middle by drawing out a story too slowly. So perhaps it was just right.
I enjoyed Dylan more than Troy but I had a sneaky suspicion I would. Series of books tend to go from strength to strength as an author gets more immersed in the story, this was no exception. And for a second book this one had a bit of bite. It was hard to read in places and I have to admit I had quite the lump in the throat a few times. There were parts that just had you feeling so much, deep moments that a reader absolutely connects with. There seemed to be less mob story in this and I felt a little disappointed in that. I thought I had a few chunks of story missing especially when it came to Shaun and Ardon, but on reflection this isn’t their story and as Dylan wasn’t there I understand why it felt that way. There were some interesting sub plots thrown in, such as Dylan’s mother and her nurse Jane. I liked that angle and it just served to prove that Dylan really is all about family.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and again I am eagerly awaiting the next, which would be Ethan’s story. I would say that in order to properly enjoy this you should read Troy. Highly recommended as with the last.

Dylan is the second book in the Fianna Fail: Soldiers of Destiny and I found this story much easier to follow than book one. Probably due to the fact in book one we meet so many of the Irish Mafia family (Fianna Fail) that it did confuse me somewhat. Having said that I did enjoy book one but loved this to the extreme as I already understood the characters and how the family dynamics were. I knew this story would have Dylan's romance story but with the backdrop of Mafia action & suspense - S Kline did not disappoint at all.

The first book being Troy I only gave 3 Hearts but Dylan earned the full 5 Hearts - could not put this down. You do need to read Troy before you pick up Dylan as you will not understand some characters and there is storylines that commence in Troy and get resolved/continued in Dylan.

This story is for Dylan as he finds his lady love in Raven, fair warning it is quite an emotional and also harrowing start to this book to explain Raven's life. The first few chapters of this book gripped me by my throat and along with the character I tried not to wretch with horror and absolute pain. The author has written about a quite sensitive subject really well in that I have had other books touch this and I have put them down and really struggled to continue, not with this book at all. S Kline covered about every emotion with care & compassion but also gave the character extreme strength in that I felt as a reader I was there with Raven during every step of her recovery and acceptance of affection.

We are taken on "family" business, have suspense and some violent scenes thrown in that had me on the edge of my seat. I am now eager to read about Ethan and Trisha as I think their story is actually probably going to be quite emotional.

A really heart warming side story to this book was the love of Raven and Harper's Uncle Jim, their cousin Trisha and also Dylan's relationship with his mum.

S Kline gives us characters that really show two sides of humanity, there is no apologising for the crime family that is Fianne Fail but then I love a good romance that also includes the dark side of living life.

I received a review copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

In Book Two of the Fianna Fail series, we meet Dylan, best friend to Troy from the first book. The drama from the previous story continues as the Fianna Fail continue their search for those who have threatened the safety of their close-knit family unit. In the middle of it all, Dylan meets Raven, a young woman with a tragic story of her own. His past and hers place them in potential conflict, yet they remain undeniably drawn together.

I read this one on the heels of reading the first instalment, Troy, and found myself much more engaged with this story.
First of all, I found Dylan to be a more likeable character. He has more opportunity to show humanity in the way he interacts with the other characters, including his dealings with his sick mother. HIs relationship with his love interest is also easier to engage with on an emotional level. Although there are multiple references to casual sexual encounters and drug use which are seemingly very commonplace within the culture of the setting, it was a little less blatant and confronting which made it easier to focus on the story progression, as well as the characters themselves.

Raven, the female interest for Dylan is certainly a sympathetic character and I enjoyed how we got to know more about her background and the story which has led her here. It is easy to believe the chemistry between these two.
Finally, the story continues its momentum from start to finish, and definitely kept me turning page after page. As events begin to unravel, the emotions between these two are more believable, and I definitely felt more connected with Dylan and Raven than I had expected.
Look forward to checking out Ethan’s story in the next instalment!

4.5 for me! Wow! I really, really liked the first book in this series but I liked this book even more! This book does have rape in it, so if it's a trigger for you, please be aware that it's in there.

This book has it all - love, money, drugs, sex, whores (men and women), kidnapping, with a little torture thrown in there. It also has humor that had me barking out a laugh unexpectedly quite a few times and other times it had tears in my eyes. The author just pulls the emotion out of you.

This book starts right up where Troy ended. The author does a wonderful job keeping us updated with the whole family. You get to see all of the characters again and it's literally just like a continuation of the first book.

Dylan shows us that he loves his mom and takes care of her. He is always trying to bring a smile to her face. Raven, the woman that has captured his heart has been through more than any woman should and she still stands strong. You see her strength in many instances. Dylan and Raven both have secrets from each other but they are stronger by sharing them with the other.

I would have liked to see more of Dylan and Raven dating than I did but it was still a great story.

I honestly wanted to have Ethan's book to start right after I was finished with this one.

Please do not read Dylan until you have read Troy (Book #1) as it picks up where Troy finished and there are numerous characters that appear in Dylan that you first meet in Troy.

Dylan is darker, more suspenseful, more edgy and a very much more intense book than Troy and the intensity is picked up when we learn what has happened to Raven.

Dylan sees Raven at a party and decides he must have her…all of her and so the cat and mouse games begin with Rave rejecting Dylan’s advances. Things take a turn when Dylan learns what happened to Raven and he instantly has clouded vision due to what she went through and her experience is a really horrific story.

When Raven finds out what Dylan does for the Fianna Fail, you will be left wondering if she will continue to resist his advances even more or will the chemistry these two have, be enough for her to overlook it.

I love reading stories with a darker side and Dylan delivered on every aspect.

I received an ARC of Dylan from author in exchange for an honest review!

This book is much darker and has more sexual abuse than book one did. Just to let readers know. It is intense and makes you want to hit things.

5 Stars!!!

This book continues a little bit after book 1 (Troy) ended.

Kaci is pregnant Troy is happily married to her and its business as usual for Fianna Fáil

Dylan sees a beautiful girl at a party and very much likes what he sees. He is going to do whatever it takes to get this girl.

The girl at the party that has Dylan so smitten is Raven, she is at the party with Tricia and is her cousin.

To say that Raven has been through hell is an understatement, when Dylan finds out everything that she has been through he sees red.

When Raven finds out what Dylan does will she be able to have a relationship with him.

Read to find out!

I absolutely love this series and look forward to reading more!

The Booktique were sent this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a much darker read than the first in the series (Troy), and it touches on a very sensitive subject which was written VERY well. I really enjoyed this book.

Dylan is a likable main character who is everything a good book alpha should be, but it was Raven who pulled me into the story, her strength and love after all she had been through was inspiring and I adored her character throughout.

The last part of this book is by far the point where I just couldn't stop reading, it is action packed full of drama and suspense which just makes it such a brilliant read.

No spoilers, but I really enjoyed reading this and I am looking forward to Ethans story.

5*

Oh how I fell head over heels for Dylan. Yes I know he does some shady business, but the man has a heart of gold. He loves his family and friends and has a wicked sense of humor. He also has a talent with the naughty talk. When he least expects it, Raven comes into his life and brings love with her. My heart broke for all that she suffered with no one to protect her. She comes to him a bit skittish, but so needing for someone to love and take care of her. That is so Dylan. And when she reveals the secret she has been keeping for years, he stands by her and loves all of her. I so loved that moment when he responds to her revelation. It made me love him even more.

The author did so well in bringing Raven's story out on the pages. I also love that we got to read more of Troy and Kaci's story. I am looking forward to reading more.

I give Dylan 5 hearts!

omg omg Dylan Trent holy amazeballs. this sexy bad ass was the man of my dreams last night. I have to say I want Dylan over Troy.

major book hangover with this story. I just like every other woman in the world wants this bad boy. he's adorable loving caring and oh so charming. He loves his Mama and his disfunctional family. then he meets Raven, an 18 year with a troubled past. will she let him and get close. she has no choice since he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. even tho she is broken, he still wants her.

her secrets are dark, they have a long road ahead of them. will they open up to each other. you will have to read.
