Kireth is an immortal, a mischief-maker, carved from stone and given life by the goddess. Faela, a poor peasant woman with a dying farm, summons him to help fix it. Though Kireth is bound to complete one hundred tasks for her, he will interpret them how he pleases—even if it means causing trouble.
But there’s more going on at Faela’s farm than a simple girl trying to maintain it alone and failing. The crops are withering, the fences breaking, the house falling apart, and not even Kireth knows why.
As he starts to fall for the sad girl with the fierce heart, he decides to pursue the truth, even though the answer might tear them apart.
This is a steamy monster romance novella with a fairytale vibe about a troublemaking immortal with a capricious nature, and the steadfast farm girl who wins his temperamental heart. There will be bargains with gods and consequences from the past, with a guaranteed HEA.
Lyonne Riley writes super steamy monster romance, fantasy romance, and sci-fi romance. She lives in the middle of nowhere with her spouse and two dogs, writing spicy fairy tales.
Sweet, funny and bit of mischief romance book. I've read from the author before and I always really enjoy her writing. This one was not one of my favorite and one of my lowest out of 7 I think. Fun concept about gods and asking from help and the challenges that come with that.
This was a pretty sweet story with someone learning to love. Kireth was a god of mischief, and as such, was a little shit. He was contract bound to Faela for 100 tasks and she was desperate to fix her dying farm. They had several difficult moments, but became a good couple who would do literally anything for each other.
Spice: 4/5
Triggers: discussion of past gruesome death of parent, death and death motif, death of farm animals, alcohol use, power imbalance between MCs, isolation
I love love loved this story, I think it has to be among my favorites from Lyonne Riley! The characters are so wonderful, the romance is so sweet, and the mischief maker himself Kireth is SO funny. The trials these two faced for their perfect happy ending had me on the edge of my seat!

You REIKA really need to read and find out. This book is well written the characters have chemistry and the emotions are front and center. Love it! Totally recommend🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🌟💖🔥🌟🔥💖🔥🌟💖🔥
This was such a delightful little story. Faela is a farm girl whose mother died of a curse that has struck her farm as well. She doesn’t know of the curse and goes into the woods to seek out a god to help her bring her farm back to life and help with chores to get things running smoothly again. The god she seeks out will help with 100 tasks before he leaves you back on your own again, however, he is a trickster who deciphers your tasks however he sees fit. This causes some trouble early on, but eventually feelings develops between the two and the tricks aren’t as many. However, when Faela learns of why the curse happened to her farm, and more importantly her mother, in the first place, will she be able to forgive Kireth? And what happens to him in her anger and hurt? But most importantly, what will happen when Faela’s 100 tasks are up and an immortal god must go back to his temple? It’s kinda predictable what happens in the end but I’m not mad about it. It could have gone a couple different ways and I’m happy with how things ended. This was a quick easy read between books, but a spicy fun time and I enjoyed every page.
This book was everything I could have ever wanted!
There was trauma, emotional growth, slow burn romance, trickster fun, and some smoking hot spice. It takes you on an emotional journey starting with tragedy and loss, and ends with love.
I adore Kireth and his trickster nature, and how he is totally willing to subvert the rules so he can stay long after what should have been 100 tasks. He is so sweet, and there are lots of cozy moments between the two of them. Faela was just trying to survive when the world keeps throwing more and more bad stuff at her every day. The HEA was so satisfying, and a perfect new beginning for them.
Overall this was a fantastic quick read, and it was so hard to put it down!
This is an enchanting standalone paranormal romance!
Human FMC Faela needs help repairing her dilapidated farm, so she summons MMC Kireth, a demon/immortal. She’s allowed to assign him 100 tasks, but as a mischievous god, he finds ways to twist her words if she isn’t careful. Soon, he realizes he may not want to cause her so much mischief after all, and that there might be something more between them.
I really enjoyed this delightful quick fun read. It blends humor and levity with heartfelt moments, plus a dash of spice. I hope to see more stories like it from Riley in the future.
Spice: 4/5 Plot: 4.5/5 Writing: 4.5/5 My Enjoyment: 4.5/5
Listen, I was going into this for a cute little good time with a mischievous, horned immortal. I really did not anticipate my whole heart being in it, but here we are. Honestly I cried at a few different points through this book 🥺 (and I won’t apologize for that).
If you like mischievous gods, angst, and the consequences of your own actions coming back to bite you then you’ll probably love this. Oh and we get a HEA (thank the gods).
Also the spice was yummy. I don’t typically like an inexperienced FMC, but this was done so right! 🥰😭🤌🏼
Kireth was such a little trouble maker. I loved how playful he was even when he was causing havoc. He never did anything too bad, so it was easy to like him through the whole book. Faela was so patient even when things went astray. She understood exactly what she got herself into and she used every mischievous deed to help her do better on the next. As they started to learn each other, the friendship came to be. They are the perfect complement for each other. This really was such a sweet read. Short and cute.
This was an excellent novella! I had a great time. The gods are almost all forgotten, and one mortal woman needs the help of one of the last ones. Once summoned, he gives her 100 tasks before he must leave again. However, this mortal woman intrigues him and he finds himself falling for her.
Lyonne Riley is excellent at writing spicy, heart felt novellas, and this one was no different! I absolutely loved Kireth and Faela. But I especially loved Faela's determination and her kind heart.
☆my farm girl ☆god x human ☆fated ones ☆primal scene ☆slow-burn
This was totally different than I was expecting! This was a very short, easy and predictable read. A human girl makes a last-ditch effort to save her dying farm by calling on an immortal to complete 100 tasks for her - but he’s a trickster and gets to interpret the tasks however he wants. It was a cute enough story but I wished for more chemistry and development between the characters!
Short and sweet. I've been reading novellas lately and I'm coming to enjoy a well written story that I can read during my lunch break but still get a full experience from. Lyonne seems to write these specifically for me, spicy but still cozy feeling. I can't wait to keep working through her catalogue.
New release days for Lyonne Riley books are always good days! This is a pleasant MMC & FMC combo, mashing together an innocent desperate young woman with an experienced immortal.
A pretty good, fun little romp following a farm girl with a cursed farm and a minor god demon. This was smutty and fluffy and sweet and perfect if you need a pallet cleanser. My only gripe is it's mostly sex, we barely get to see them bond and fall in love and I did want to see a lot more of that.
Oh how I loved this! The idea of a woman trying to save her farm from a curse unknown and the mischief making god she summons to help? I’m sat. I loved the dynamic between Faela and Kireth. So fun to see them grow. Loved it!
I love all of Lyonne Rileys books. But this one. This one is adore! The writing is superb amd the story is beautiful and heart wrenching. The love, fun, pain, and sacrifice in the story are truly heartfelt.
👀Tropes: Dual POV Monster Romance with a human and trickster god. There's trouble making, he falls first, and magic.
☠️CW: Sexual Content, Off screen Death of Parent, Death/Eating of Farm Animals, Alcohol
🪢Kinks: Off page group scene, light breeding, light anal
📚Read Method: Kindle eBook
✨My Thoughts: I had so much fun reading this book! The plot is intriguing, the spice is spicy, and the characters are lovable. I don't find them relatable, but that's fine because Lyonne writes a wonderful story about Kireth, a trickster/mischief-maker, and Faela, a poor peasant human. There's some shenanigans, some magic, some spicy times, and most importantly, he starts to fall for this sad girl with a fierce heart. Absolutely love this story, and will be reading it again.
