Driven To Die

Rate this book
As the rain pounded against the windshield, Detective Inspector Nell James knew something was off about the 911 call. But what she and her partner, Vince Camillo, find at the scene of a suspicious heart attack is beyond anything they could have imagined.

Disenfranchised pathologist Dr. Martin Hilleman has returned to Hadleigh, quintessential small town Ontario and his boyhood home, hoping for a new beginning. But a blackout, a gruesome discovery, and a high-profile case involving local car mogul Dean "The Car" Mann, give him no time to settle in.

When antifreeze is found in Dean’s system, focus turns to his new wife, Jenny, who has a suspicious track record of dead husbands. As Martin delves deeper into Dean's death, he teams up with Nell and Vince to uncover a web of deceit and corruption tied to Dean's dealership. The list of motives and suspects soon multiplies.

But when a second round of poisonings hits close to home, the case takes a dangerous turn. Can Martin, Nell, and Vince solve the case before more lives are lost? Or will Hadleigh's most prominent citizens continue to fall victim to a deadly plot?

Pretty Good

Not a bad book, but I knew what was going on half way through. It was too predictable and at the beginning it was flipping between too many points of view for me.

I felt like "Driven to Die" was a bit repetitive. I had a hard time staying engaged because of it. I did NOT see that ending coming though. It definitely surprised me! Overall, not a bad book.

I won this book from a Goodreads Giveaway. I would like to thank them as well as the author from the chance to read this book.
