That feeling you get skating across the ice, legs burning, adrenaline pumping. It’s unmatched. Much like my current stats.

Hockey has always been my sole focus, getting to the playoffs, winning the Stanley Cup—that’s my number one goal.

I won’t let the fact that I’ve just been traded to a new team derail my future. Nor will the daughter of the so-called King of Canada, aka my new boss. Aliyah, the gorgeous, feisty brunette who’s just been assigned as my official “babysitter.”

Although, when your trapped in a room with a temptation like her, there’s only so much restraint one man can have.

I probably should have listened to the rumors about the owner of the Vancouver Knights being Canada’s most ruthless and feared mob boss. Because when he finds out what I’ve done with his daughter, it’s not just my career on the chopping block.

It’s my neck.

Both, I’m willing to risk. For her. To save her.

Aliyah

When your whole life is mapped out for you, choices aren’t a freedom you’re granted.

You do whatever it is you’re told to do.

So, when my father tells me he needs me to watch over one of his new recruits, even though spending all of my free time with a cocky-ass hockey player is the last thing I want to be doing, I agree.

Why?

Because nobody says no to Jacob Monroe and lives to tell the tale. Not even me.

I mean, how hard can it be? It’s one guy. A hockey player.

Liam King. An athlete with a physique carved out of stone, and a smirk that not only melts my panties off but sets my whole body on fire.

An inferno I can’t help but give in to and a desire I can’t help but feed.

He’s not part of the plan. He’s temporary. Dropping in and passing by. I just need to get my heart to understand that I can’t keep him.

No matter how much I might want to.

Such a disappointment for me. The hero was first introduced as a total big manwhor3 hockey player and when he already met the heroine, there’s no spark between them and not even for the hero himself to the heroine… Which is a big disappointment for me. And after they meet, the heroine goes away but after few minutes the hero is already have someone else he wants to fvck cause the woman flirts with him so easily. He even got so hard for that woman and planning on fvcking her so bad…. NOT A GREAT START FOR THIS BOOK WHICH IS SUPER ANNOYING 😭😭🥵🥵 LIKE WHAT THE FVCK 🥵🥵

I hate a romance book that starts like that especially from hockey players. And it starts with the hero being such a big manwhor3 argh I don’t like that veryyyyy much 😓😓😓 I wish i can write differently but nope. This is the true and you can read it for yourself…

AND NOT ONLY THAT. BUT THE HEROINE GOT SOOO JEALOUS AT FIRST AND TOO MUCH FOR THE HERO WITH THAT WOMAN!!!! The worst part is that she feels the attraction first and her body likes the hero first and even more for the hero, NOT THE HERO HIMSELF!!!!! LIKE WHAT THE ACTUAL MOTHERFVCKING FUCK IS THIS????!!! EVEN IN THE BEGINNING IT GAVE ME A HEADACHE 😳🥵😓😓😓

The heroine have the nerve to really be so jealous over any woman who came close or even talked to the hero even just a waitress. And this is only the beginning of the book! LIKE I WANT THIS TO BE THE HERO WHO IS LIKE THAT!!!! NOT THE HEROINE!!! LIKE WHAT A DUMB WOMAN!!!

The hero flirts not only with one woman when he first saw the heroine and the next day he saw the heroine again, BUT MORE THAN TWICE IN TWO DAYS HE FLIRTS WITH ANOTHER WOMAN IN FRONT OF HER. HOW THIS IS A FVCKING ROMANCE?! DAMN IF A MAN DO THIS TO ME IN TWO DAYS I WILL CLEARLY FOR SURE RUN AWAY AND NEVER EVER LOOK BACK. Like how this is even okay?! This is actually a walking red flag man. RED FLAG MAN!!!! He even told the heroine to introduce him to her friends so he can give them a personal show… Which i believe he will and he meant it because he is such a big manwhor3 in the beginning 😩 The third day, at night his brother came and they went out. At first he told his brother that he can’t bring girls around anymore but then still sit next to the girls with his brother.

Sorry but when I continued reading this book, it was starting to get pretty good and romantic and sweet actually… But because of the first scenes was like that, it just completely made my mind really doesn’t feel the romance anymore. Like everything is just dries out and annoying. Especially the heroine is a complete doormat from the beginning, the heroine is the main pursue and not the hero which is super annoying. It made the whole romance for me just really sucks and not great anymore. I don’t know why but my mind just completely dry out from the romance that is already happening in the book 😒😒 Next time probably don’t start with a huge manwhor3 and doormat heroine so it won’t really ruin the whole romance… Yup that first scenes really completely ruins the whole story for me.

I know the hero is a athlete and athletes do wild things… which is so hard to find a great romance with a hockey player who is totally safe from the beginning and not a manwhor3. That sh*t is hard to find. So it’s quite disappointing when the author writes a huge manwhor3 like this and it shows so much in the beginning… I thought it would safer cause the author doesn’t really write about the heroes being a manwhor3. But when the author writes this one is like that, it made me want to be careful reading her future books especially with new series like this… This is a new series and it already started like this 😢😢😢 Sorry but this book is just not for me…

Hopefully the next book won’t be like that. If it does, I’m still gonna be honest about it like what i write in the first book…

Thank you to Kylie Kent for sending me an ARC of Break Out for review.

*List of triggers at the end for anyone that might need them. If you don't have triggers I recommend potentially not reading these as they could spoil some plots within the story.

When I tell you I received this ARC 5.27am on Friday morning, started it at midnight and literally read it in one sitting (didn't even move to pee) and finished 5.20am Saturday morning. I'm not sure I've ever had an ARC have a 24 hour turn around before. I could not put this down!

We follow Liam and Aliyah. Liam is an NHL player that was fired from his previous team for beating the ever loving crap out of his coach, but has also made a name for himself in the tabloids as a party boy and loose cannon. Aliyah's dad, owner of the Vancouver Knights and head of the Monroe mafia family, takes Liam on thinking he could be their answer to finally winning the Stanley Cup. However, he recruits Aliyah to babysit Liam and turn his rep around. Lia's been giving a warning from her dad to keep it professional with Liam, as well as one of her three brothers who's also captain of the team.

Cue a very steamy, very addictive story of these two characters changing and growing with each other, as well as within the family. Lots of hockey, lots of steamy sex scenes and a whole lot of banter as well as trauma.

I adored this. I intended to read it over the weekend, 50 or so pages at a time and once I started I just couldn't stop. It would appear I truly love the babysitting a grown ass man who can't make good decisions to save his life trope, and I'm entirely here for it. I was slightly worried going into this that the sports romance combined with mafia romance might not gel well, but they were both done so well. This story isn't just a steamy romance, there are quite a few dark moments, and I truly love their dark pasts weaved into the plot. The writing was really good and I'm so intrigued to read more from Kylie. Especially continue this series which will come out next year.

All the tropes are in here, enemies-to-lovers, forbidden romance, close proximity, sports romance, mafia romance, MMC with an ego, FMC confident but also has HUGE self doubt, mental health rep, he falls first.

A well deserved 5 stars. Any book that can have me reading it all through the night, in one sitting, have me laughing, blushing and sobbing in 298 pages, 100% deserves 5 stars. I truly loved this.

*Triggers: Physical (not sexual) harm against a child (flashbacks), cheating (not our MC's), violence on and off the ice, PTSD, childhood trauma.

first off i wanted to say thank you for the arc, because even if this one wasn’t for me, im sure other will like it!

3.5 because the cliches were just TOO much for meeeee 😭🫣

✔️manwhore hero who needs a babysitter and the babysitter whose father owns the hockey team the H is on and is also head of the Canadian mafia……
✔️the “foodgasm” scene where the heroine eats a burger and sounds like she’s having sex and that gets the hero hard.
✔️the sexy pj’s she “forgot” she was wearing when she left in a hurry to yell at the hero for being out.
✔️the overprotective brothers who think their sister is a virgin and no one can ever touch her
✔️mommy issues

even though there is no on page sex with ow we are CONSTANLY reminded of how big of a player he is…… he was tested days before moving teams, on the first night he is there he meets the h (not knowing she’s his babysitter) and instantly asks her to bone. then he has to get his apartment fumigated for spiders and the h sees him at a hotel with a “blonde bimbo” and he’s getting hard listening to the ow talk about how she’s going to blow him so well he’ll ask for seconds 😐😐😐😐😐 like 1) can we stop with the double standard of it being okay for the man to be the whore, but the woman he chooses is a bimbo or just a hole to fuck if she’s not the h???? and 2) the hero talks about how many other women he’s been with, made upset, taken to his bed in his other city before he got there. we get it….you get around. but then he says that he’s so horny because he hasn’t sex since he got there…………TWO WEEKS AGO. and his brother brings four girls over to his apartment even though the H doesn’t do anything, he obviously gets around SO MUCH that his brother thinks it’s okay to just bring a hoard of women unannounced to his place.

honestly, i don’t even mind TOO MUCH if he’s a whore before he meets the h, but i think it would have bothered me less if he was maybe a little ashamed of it or didn’t talk about it every other sentence 😐

the mafia part in the last 10% had me hooked but then it just ended…..so i’m thinking the next book is more mafia themed and if it’s Gray’s book, i’ll probably read it because i’m so interested to see what happens 🫢

also wtf happens with the H’s mom??? it felt like she just randomly went away after being a total bitch. i needed more closer. his background wasn’t explored as in depth as i wished it was.

I really liked this book! It‘s one of these perfect Kylie Kent books with the right amount of drama, smut and banter. It is easy to read and I had a good time.
Aliyah and Liam have great tension and their banter was so funny. I laughed a lot and was glued to my kindle. Both are passionate and sassy. I liked the fact Liam was brave enough to face Aliyahs dad, it shows that he really loves her. In general they‘re a good couple and I liked them together.
The plot is interesting and most of the time light and funny. Both characters have childhood trauma so there are some triggers but I wouldn‘t describe this book as a darkromance.
Overall this was an amazing read!

This was different

Fun fact, I almost was gearing to give this book 4 stars, but then the ending hit and it went down to three stars.

This was a new twist for me. It was kind of interesting with the whole mafia and hockey sports theme. Her brothers made me laugh even her father. I kind of felt though the FMC was a little cavalier about her trauma. I don’t know, but it was just oh well it was a part of
life that happened in the past type of thing and that’s why she is how she is, end of story. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I can’t quite put my finger on it.

Now the ending, the last 10% of this book was totally bizarre. Once again, we run into an author that just throws a bunch of crap at you, rushes and calls it the end. There was absolutely zero closure. Which, to be honest, left me with no desire to continue with this series.

ARC REVIEW

I’m a little late on the review but I did it lol. I love the push and pull between Aliyah & Liam. Liam’s playful personality was the best detail added to his character against Aliyah’s personality. Overall, the storyline was well written but the ending ended super fast. Like I got to the last page and was like WHAT!??? Guess I’ll have to wait for the next book to find out what I’m looking for.

Hockey romance mixed with a splash of mafia/dark romance!

This is book 1 of Vancouver Knights and I can already see myself reading the rest of the books when they come out. We follow the story of Aliyah and Liam. Aliyah's father is the owner of the Vancouver Knights and a "businessman" (hint, it's some not so legal business). When the team adds Liam as a new player, he wants Aliyah to act as his "babysitter" to help recoup Liam's naughty boy image. Forced to spend time together, Liam quickly becomes infatuated with Aliyah and pretty relentless in his pursuit of her. Although she also feels attracted to him, she resists because of his reputation and the worry of what her over protective father and three older brothers might do. While I personally wouldn't want a guy to be as forward as Liam as, it is a fun back and forth dynamic between them and the chemistry is hot hot hot. The last 10%ish is when the mafia side really comes in and the action picks up in addition to the hockey side of things and I can tell it might be more prevalent in future books.

Finally - there are some pretty dark themes/TW in this book you might want to check before reading: violence, guns, fighting, child abuse (physical and emotional)

I received an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion :)

I received this book as an ARC and when I got it in my email I was very excited to read another of Kylie's books.
*My review does NOT contain outright spoilers*

The book follows Aliyah who is 24 and Liam 20s. Both characters have a traumatic past in some shape or form and this book is about overcoming those obstacles and making room for each other.

The book opens up with Aliyahs dad forcing her to babysit the newest player on their team in order for him to stay out of trouble. Obviously this is not the ideal situation for her but does as she's asked. She meets Liam in his apartment and Liam instantly tries to charm her into having a shower with him and she shuts that down real quick. Liam doesn't understand this new sense of jealousy and why he can't get her out of his head and Aliyah feels like he's only continuing to get her because he's never been told no and sees her as a challenge. She also knows that she can't enter into anything with him as her family would literally off him so she tries her best to remain professional even though she's dying to be with him. After about a month of tension they finally get together and from then on Liam is no longer taking no for an answer nor does he back off when she pushes him away he will fight for the both of them until she's ready to admit that this thing is end game material.

Although this book says its mafia I would say it's mafia light as there was little talk about the business but this book is set up to go more in depth with that side of the business once we get the brothers books since Aliyah is not part of that side of things minus one scene where they were on lock down we get a brief telling of what caused the lockdown but there is no talks about the events during lockdown. What it does have is a lot of scare tactic towards both MCs one to deter her from dating and the other to make him run away from their sister.

Overall a good start of a series, Aliyah and Liams story is wrapped up in a nice little bow BUT the story is left on a cliffy so if you do decide to read the series it'll probably be best to read in order to get the full benefit of the series story line.

-Dual first person POV
-Insta lust
-Traumatic background for both characters involving parental figures so read the triggers if you have any.
- mafia adjacent with future books diving deeper into that world
-hockey

Thank you to Kylie Kent and the author's team for sending me the arc in exchange for a review, and happy release day!

rating: 3.5 stars !!!

I enjoyed this book and what I believe to be a really easy breazy read. This book had two of my favourite genre's, which is ice hockey and mafia. I was curious to how the author was going to play this out throughout the book when I first read but I thought she did a great job.

I thought that the banter between Lia and Liam was really good. I thought that the development from the two characters was also great. I liked that they both were able to bond over their trauma with their mothers and that they almost learned to rely on one another in their most vulnerable moments. I was also loving the dynamic between Lia's family — I always love a mafia family that you can feel the love from. I liked that her dad was one of the first people to accept Liam as also being part of their family, despite being from outside.

Very interested in the following book that will be about Lia's brother Grayson and Kathryn, his long lost love who may or may not have had his child? 👀

Thank you again !

2.5 ⭐️ and I’m trying to be generous as I did finish this book in 1 sitting but it didn’t meet my expectations, even though I was excited because it’s a hockey romance x mafia.

Kylie, my girl, we must first start off with proper hockey lingo because this is not football. They do not play in stadiums, and they don’t take the puck to the “end zone”. It’s arenas and offensive/attacking zone. It’s not hard if you’re trying to write a sports romance to do a simple google search.

The whole mafia card could’ve been played into better. Same with the Championship game. It lacked a lot of the thrill and information.

The main characters didn’t seem to have any romantic connection. He was a manwhore who all of a sudden turned into a Saint after spending one day with his adult babysitter, whom tried to act like she wasn’t attracted to him. Other than lust, these 2 didn’t have any kind of meaningful connection. Instalove isn’t something I’m into.

Will I still try out the other books in the series? Yep.

Pretty insufferable to read, but managed to push through to the end. This book suffers from not explaining why Liam (MMC, hockey superstar who just got acquired by Vancouver) and Aliyah (MFC, daughter of the owner of the Vancouver Knights) are uniquely in love with each other. Besides repetitive trite mentions about how hot they are, there is little evidence of why we should swoon for Liam (his main tactic seems to be to pester Aliyah crudely until she finally agrees to sleep with him).

The ending felt very rushed, given the alleged magnitude of the decision that Liam has to make. He must choose between his two loves, hockey or protecting the girl, and the speed with which he chooses undermines how much he's supposed to be driven by either. The resolution and HEA gets wrapped up in a matter of paragraphs, when it could have been drawn out to be at least a little bit thrilling.

So yeah, if you want hockey player MMC's, or mafia books there's better out there.

It’s not giving mafia like I think it was meant to give mafia. None of the relationships feel genuine. The FMC is a daddy never tells me no type who isn’t committed to that bit enough to make of feel real. Maybe I will try a again some day but not today

Desire at first sight but they both hide it, well her more than him. Mafia family and hockey. Forbidden love. Possessive.

Recap:
Aliyah is the daughter and youngest child of Jacob Monroe the owner of the NHL Knights hockey team, also father of 3 boys, one being Grayson Monroe, the top NHL enforcer (on and off the ice) and captain of the Knights, and Jason is the leader of the mafia or as they call it “business.” She might be a princess to her family but she is far from a damsel, she was torched and abused by her mother for years without anyone’s knowledge, so she has a lot of trauma and scars from the abuse. She loves hockey and when her dad tells her he needs her to watch the newest signed player for the knights so he doesn’t get into any trouble and bring negative attention to the team, her dad wants the cup! Liam is a playboy and top NHL player who just fucked yo his career by punching his coach on national tv. What no one knows is he walked in on him fucking his mom who is married, she always fucks shit up for him so he is over it, esp when his coach talks shit in front of people. First thing he sees when he walks into his new apt is Lia waiting to tell him hi things are going to be on this team. After he realizes he’s definitely going to push her buttons and damn she’s gorgeous, he goes to shower and dreams of her, while she waits, then he hears a scream and runs out in all his glory to a spider under the couch which he somehow kills with his hockey stick after getting to touch her a little when they were scared. She freaks due to being so attracted to him but knowing that can’t happen or her dad will kill him. The first few nights she is forced to get him from bars or clubs and she is pissed, he likes her mad side and the fire in her eyes when she’s pissed at him. After she keeps turning him down, even if she wants to bone him bad, he keeps showing different soft sides but she doesn’t think she’s loveable and pushes him away with each advance. I’ve time he wears he walks down and they kiss twice. He wants all of her but those walls go back up and other than little moments he just tries to make her job easier and focus on hockey and doing his job for the team. When they both go out to the same club with friends and teammates she drinks a little too much her brother gets mad and he volunteered to take her home. In her anger for him being over protective they have another moment and she crashes at his house. He is woken up in the middle of the night to Lia screaming from a nightmare of her mother trying to kill her. He holds her and stays with her through the night but she is scared to tell him the truth. She keeps pushing him away but then she gives in and they claim
One another but have to keep it secret for him not to be killed by her family. When her dad finds out and reveals he has cameras watching her house and all, duh he’s not stupid is he’s a mafia don, but he’s happy as long as she is, but promises nothing about her brothers and they work through some of her trauma and she learns he killed her for hurting her he never loved her but Lia he does, she’s his baby girl. Liam knows he will protect her with everything and her father trusts him but Gray is a little mad being he is his team mate, but he will get over it eventually. When the family is attacked they go into lock down, but this time she has to go into the safe room. She was locked in there by her mom a lot when her dad was gone so she has a panic attack but Liam is able to help her through it and calm her down until they are rescued. They have fallen for one another and even if they can’t say it they feel it. When the team is in the final game for the Stanley cup Liam is asked by Jacob to throw the game. He has been sent multiple threats in Aliyah’s life and he has found them in time and can’t risk her. He agrees and before the game he tells her he loves her and she does back. Even though he tried the Knights win the cup and Liam freaks out and runs to save Lia but when they are outside running to her car someone in a mask goes to shoot her, but Liam jumps in front and he is shit 2 times. He is saved and in the hospital and Lia is there by his side, even when his mom, who he is not talking to still, esp after insulting Aliyah last time, she is rude again not taking blame for her actions. Liam wakes up at
The perfect time and tells her off, he asks Aliyah to marry him and she accepts as long as he doesn’t again not in the hospital. The family accepts him for her and the live HEA.

✨ARC Review✨

I have been hooked on Kylie’s books since I picked you the first book in the merge series, and since then Kylie has never failed to disappoint, and this book is no exception.. I was absolutely HOOKED from the very first chapter.

I love how Kylie mixes the mafia and sports element in this book! This story follows Aliyah and Liam and basically Aliyahs father has recruited Liam for their hockey team but has assigned his daughter to keep an eye on Liam due to his unfavourable extra curricular activities.

Let’s just say Liam is a goner from the moment he lays eyes on Aliyah and he doesn’t stop pursuing her to she is finally his. I absolutely loved the building tension and forbidden aspect between this couple because when Aliyah finally gave in.. phew it was deliciously hot 🥵 Kylie really does know how to write those spicy moments👀

Aliyah has nightmares and low self esteem due to issues in her past but I ADORED how Liam constantly lifted her and supported her😭

Tropes:
- Hockey/Mafia Romance
- Forbidden Romance
- Reverse Grumpy Sunshine
- He falls first and hard
- Forced Proximity

We saw little teasers of the next book which will be Graysons and I cannot wait to read more of this series👀

Thank you so much to the author for providing this e-arc for my honest thoughts✨

Break Out has all the ingredients for a great hockey romance. There's a mix of forbidden and danger, a reverse grumpy sunshine and loveable hero that sets his sights on his woman and becomes a goner along with a hockey storyline at the forefront. Aliyah is the knights owner's daughter and new babysitter to pr nightmare Liam. Liam finds himself on a short leash with his new team and fighting a heavy attraction to his off limits babysitter. Both characters have more than meets the eyes along with deeply emotional threads that connect them.

Aliyah is definitely a mafia hockey princess with a lot of love surrounding her. I love her whole family's support after she experienced some serious trauma as a child. I appreciated that she obviously still struggles with the aftermath and her very real false messages about her worth. That felt true and relatable. Liam may have been a playboy but he's tied up in Aliyah. I adored the bond he and his brother share and the way they play off one another. He's a dirty talker full of heart and skill on the ice. The reverse grumpy sunshine felt like a great fit for these characters and made an intriguing dynamic that kept Liam pursuing Lia. I'm definitely interested in the rest of Lia's brothers stories and will continue to read more!

Well who would have thought the Queen of dark mafia romance could flip the switch and write an amazing hockey dark mafia romance??? Kylie Kent did and let me say this one did not disappoint! Kylie Kent is a one click author for me and to say I devoured this book would be an understatement! My two favorite genres, hockey and dark mafia just had a baby!!
We meet Aliyah and Liam when she is assigned as the new hockey bad boy’s babysitter. Their first interaction had me cracking up! From there we learn so much about their lives prior to them meeting. Two people who are broken by their crappy mothers and find a safe place in each other.
Aliyah’s brothers and father are pivotal in this story and add a deeper connection as their love progresses. Liam is that cinnamon roll hero we all adore but don’t mistake his adoration of Aliyah as weakness! This man would walk through fire to get his girl! Aliyah is a heroine who lives life on her terms and gets what she wants! I love Kylie’s bad ass FMC’s!
This is book one in the Vancouver Knights series. I cannot wait to read Gray’s story! As always Kylie Kent brought the steam, the sass, the brokenness, and the dark mafia themes that make her the absolute best at her job!!! 🥵🥵🥵🥵

What a perfect idea to mix mafia and sport romance

The couple was great. So much banter and innuendo. Then the grief from the past to overshadow every decision. I was very invested in the story snd thd couple. Also gäbe my heart away for future stories already. For the mafia part.... It was strong in the relationship of Aliyah and her family but short cut for the rest of the story. Not sure yet if that made me live the story more or less believe in the roles of the brothers and father. Also I didn't get a good picture of Liams 's mother and her intention. Not sure this will be a topic for another book in the series. But with a bug smile and a wonderful time listening, this story gave me all the feels I wanted. Look forward TK pick up more.

Thank you Kylie Kent for this ARC of Break Out. The story between Aliyah and Liam is so dynamic and based on realism that you are always wondering what is going to happen to them next! Liam is such a cute guy in this and I love how authentic his feelings are toward Aliyah it is love at first sight in my opinion, but the relationship is raw and real. I love how this story is also intertwined with all of her other novels and I cannot wait to see what happens next in this series. I love how she connects all of her books. Aliyah and Liam are two separate people will they break out of their shells to love each other? Will Liam love Aliyah more than the game? You won't regret reading this book it's so authentic and real that you want to know how their love story lasts. ❤️ an awesome book highly recommend it!

Good start to a series I can’t wait to see how it goes.

Hockey and mafia shouldn’t work but it does in this book.

Liam and Aliyah may seek an odd pair but once they’re forced to be together - she becomes his “babysitter - sparks fly. He does insert his foot quite a bit in the beginning but once you dive in, you realize he has a heart and a lot more going for him. And he will steal your heart when he’s the hero Aliyah needs. She has some demons herself and it is heartbreaking. Glad the perp of her nightmares is missing . Lol.

Steam galore and some characters I can’t wait to read about.

* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

This was a great darker hockey romance. I loved the bits of the mafia world mixed in. It was also nice to see the grumpy sunshine trope reversed where she was the grumpy one. Liam was such a sweet golden retriever type and I loved how he fell so hard for Aliyah. The steam was sizzling also 🔥

Definitely looking forward to the rest in this series!

Hockey romance? Love. Mafia romance? Love. Hockey mafia romance? Yes please! I loved Liam and how he was the quintessential playboy UNTIL he saw Aliyah and then said yup her, I only want her. Love me a man who falls fast and hard! I really enjoyed the family dynamics and side characters. Any scene with one of her brothers was my favorite which makes me excited for the rest of the series. I do feel like the ending was a bit rushed. We got a brand new threat in the last 10% and after everything came to a head it was all wrapped up immediately and off page. I enjoyed the ending but wish it had been explored a little more and we had a bit more tension rather than an “Oh no! Oh okay it’s all fine now.” Overall though loved the book. Kylie never disappoints and if you’ve liked her previous books you’ll love this one as well!

I can´t stop thinking about this book, it was amazing.
The way that she combined hockey and mafia was incredible.
Aliyah and Liam were everything. We have forced proximity, he falls first and hard, forbidden romance.
She never misses with any book.
I can´t wait to read Grayson´s book.

Thanks to Kylie Kent for the ARC.

Hockey romance with a little mafia mixed in… thank you give me 14 more. I downloaded this book because I wanted to read the 2nd book in the series. However I really enjoyed this story. I’m a sucker for a bad boy MMC who falls first! Looking forward to reading Grays book next.

Thank you so much for the ARC Kylie.

I really enjoyed this book! The banter. The fact there are text messages. The alpha hole behaviour, the chase it’s all so good.

But I felt like the ending was rushed. I wanted more. I wanted more information on who did what they did at the end, i wanted to know why they did it.

Overall though this book got me out of a slump and Liam is 100% book husband material

DNF @ page 78. I really tried, but this writing style just isn't for me.
