Shiloh Anderson fell in love with Ronin Drake when he was only fourteen years old. Unfortunately, the twenty-year-old alpha wasn’t too pleased to have a young omega following him around like a lovesick puppy. After Shiloh’s young, tender heart is broken—coupled with memories of his parents’ very nasty divorce—he realizes that relationships are simply more trouble than they’re worth.
Nearly a decade passes without Shiloh seeing Ronin again. When they end up on a South Pacific cruise together, Shiloh’s no longer the one doing the chasing. While his inner fourteen-year-old is cheering, Shiloh’s not the easy target he’d once been.
When the pair end up shipwrecked together on a deserted island, avoiding one another is no longer possible. They have to work together to survive while awaiting rescue. As the days pass, they edge closer and closer to danger.
All they can do is pray help comes before Shiloh’s heat does.

When Shiloh is 14, he goes to his friend's (Sage) family Christmas party and meets Sage's cousin, 20 year old Ronin, and immediately has a huge crush on Ronin. Ronin is old enough to realize that Shiloh is his fated mate. But because of their ages, Ronin has to avoid actually doing anything. So after that, he avoids family holidays as much as possible.
The story begins with a Christmas party they both attend when Shiloh is 16. Ronin's father realizes what the problem is, and helps Ronin avoid Shiloh after that. They figure Ronin only has to avoid him for 2 more years, till he's 18.
But they don't see each other again until seven years later. Shiloh is a PhD student on summer vacation with his friends, including Sage, on a cruise to the Bahamas. Ronin's on the same cruise, because his family company wants to buy the cruise line. Shiloh tries to avoid talking to Ronin because he knows Ronin was annoyed by his crush all those years ago. Unfortunately, Sage is weirdly excited by the idea of his cousin and Shiloh fucking on this cruise. Sage really pushes it, until Shiloh argues with him, and Sage promises to shut up about it.
Ronin asks the group to meet him for dinner, and Shiloh's friends pretend to be too busy or whatever, so that just Shiloh and Ronin end up at dinner together. Ronin tells Shiloh right away that he always did feel a connection with him, but ghosted him for the last 7 years so Shiloh could go to college and get his education. I don't know how being a couple would stop Shiloh from getting an education, but Ronin is convinced it was really important not to date Shiloh while he was at University. When Shiloh went all the way through a PhD program, Ronin just kept thinking he needed to wait and wait and wait. And Shiloh is ok with it, I guess, because he asks to leave the restaurant and go have sex with Ronin right away.
Then the ship sails into a tropical storm and they get shipwrecked, but they're already a couple by then. So that's it, I guess, there's really no conflict.

When omega Shiloh was 14 years old, he developed a crush on alpha Ronin, the older adult brother of his friend. When he made a pass at Ronin, Ronin soundly rejected him despite secretly sensing that he was his true mate. Ronin decided to stay away from Shiloh for the next ten years, first giving him a chance to mature and, then, to finish his advanced college degrees. Shiloh never lost his feelings for Ronin, but he covered them up, as he always thought Ronin's rejection meant he wasn't attracted to him.
Now, they've unexpectedly wound up together on the same south Pacific cruise. Both now mature adults, there is no stopping nature taking its course, except for the major storm bearing down on the ship.
