Last December, I read my first Kristen Bailey book, We Three Kings, after randomly discovering it on Hoopla, and it quickly became one of my favorite holiday stories of all time. In Big Nick Energy, Kay bumps into her college ex and decides to give things another try, convinced fate has brought them back together. Not long after reconnecting with old Nick, she finds herself tangled in a Christmas tree netting machine while visiting her best friend Lucy at work. The person who rescues her from this festive disaster is Lucy’s boss, new Nick, who is the polar opposite of her ex.

I found that Kay’s sense of humor is quite similar to mine, so I was able to connect with her easily for the most part. We spend a fair amount of time in her head, which I did not mind, but her inner thoughts often blurred with actual conversations. At times, this made it confusing to tell what was thought versus what was actually said out loud. I listened to the audiobook, so maybe it is easier to distinguish between the two in print.

At times, Kay saw what she wanted to see and often overlooked red flags that were quite obvious. While it took her a bit of time to figure things out, I knew exactly who I would have chosen from the start. I’m a sucker for good side characters, and Kay’s nana, her library co-workers, and her hilarious best friend Lucy were excellent additions to the story. Another holiday hit which I highly recommend.

After a much-needed months-long break from rom-coms I was ready for some light-hearted fun again and Kristen Bailey brought just the 'Christmas in October' cheer I was hoping for!

The book opens in 2018 with Kay Redman being dumped during the Christmas season by her long-time college boyfriend Nick. It may sound sad, but how the event unfolds during a festive pub quiz night is one of the funniest in the book!

Three years later, while helping her Nana with an enormous 10 ft. Christmas tree that was kindly donated to her but couldn’t possibly fit in her home, Kay calls the slightly gruff man who donated it to her, whose name is … you guessed it … Nick. He doesn’t make a good first impression.

These Nick fellows are batting zero so far.

Jump to December 2025 and Kay, who writes children’s books on the side while working as a librarian, is being encouraged to get out there and have fun again by her agent Davinia. When she bumps into now successful ex Nick at an outdoor London market and sparks seem to rekindle, she takes it as a sign that maybe fate is bringing them together again.

Fate is a funny thing though, and soon Kay encounters - in person this time - Christmas tree farmer/part-time Santa Nick who starts helping her with a book drive at nursing homes and schools allowing her to see a different, nicer side of him.

Hmmm … maybe these Nicks aren’t so bad after all.

Both guys seem to care about Kay … what’s a girl to do? Well, Kay’s hilarious bestie Lucy, co-workers Helen and Olga and especially her beloved spunky Nana, whose battle with Alzheimer’s hasn’t dimmed her ability to speak her mind, ALL have strong opinions on the issue! What do they think and which Nick will Kay pick?

Lucy, Helen, Olga and Nana aren’t the only one with strong opinions, and let’s just say that I’m pleased with Kay’s choice. What I’m also SO pleased with is how the events leading to the choice played out. There was no high drama, no hysterics and bad feelings … just a calm, adult realization with proper communication. What?? Two grown adults communicating like grown humans? Thank you Kristen Bailey for showing it can be done!

This was an immersion read with my Kindle and the audio wonderfully narrated by Harrie Dobby whose voice is so lovely to listen to. Though the euphemism being played on in the title is spicy, this is clean, mild spice with the doors closed. If you want a light-hearted, sweet holiday romance with likeable characters, fun banter, and all the “feel goods”, this is a perfect choice. My one and only complaint is I wanted more story for one of the Nicks. I’ll let you figure out which!

★★★★ ½

Thanks to Storm Publishing, NetGalley and author Kristen Bailey for the digital ARC and audio to honestly review. It’s publishing on October 21, 2025.

Two Nicks and one woman - what a dilemma! Big Nick Energy proved to be a captivating and interesting holiday romance. Big Nick Energy Kay was dumped by ex-boyfriend Nick in a very public way. They meet years later at a Christmas market, and she wonders if this could possibly be their second chance. Later that day, she goes to meet her friend at a Christmas Tree farm and finds herself tangled in tree netting and is saved by another Nick (farmer Nick).

What's a girl to do????

Her ex-Nick has big plans for his future and is a businessman. Farmer Nick plays Santa Claus, supports local charities, and delivers books to children's hospitals. As the jingle bells are ringing and people are rocking around the Christmas tree, Kay will need to decide who she will be kissing under the mistletoe.

With romance books it is all about the journey and this was an intriguing, fun, and entertaining one. I enjoyed how the characters were likeable, felt realistic, and were witty. I know who I would choose but for Kay, it took some time.

If you are looking for a charming and entertaining romance book that takes place during the Christmas holiday, this book might be just what you are looking for! Big Nick Energy proved to be a fast and charming book which had me rooting for one Nick and hoping for the best for the other!

Thank you to Storm Publishing and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

Eight years ago, Kay Redman was dumped by her college boyfriend, Nick, at a bar where everyone and their grandma was watching. But she’s quickly moved on from it. Working as a librarian and an author of books for children, Kay has her own life and wouldn’t mind a little romance to make the holidays a bit more fun. She just didn’t think it would take form as her ex, who wears suits, has money, and is clearly interested in her again. But it’s Christmas, so she thinks, why not? It’s only for fun.

That is until she meets a hot and grumpy Santa at a Christmas tree farm who helps her out when she gets tangled in the net. And the funny thing is his name is also Nick. Kay tries not to overthink about whatever curveballs the universe is throwing at her, but as time goes on and she spends more time with both Nicks, she quickly realizes that life isn’t as simple as she hoped and that she’s going to have to make a decision about which Nick she wants to be with.

Well, well, well. Here we are, once again at the disappointment section on aisle 7. I was hoping I wouldn’t end up here so soon, but there is no denying the fact that this book disappointed me. 😭

At first, it started out great. I was laughing, grinning, and having a grand ol’ time with Kay, her funny friends and Nana, and the odd predicament she found herself in. The jokes and innuendos were funny until they weren’t, Kay’s friends seemed to have more sense than she did, and I really liked grumpy Nick over finance bro Nick and I’d take him any day, even though all of these people lacked depth and character growth. But hey, that’s just me. 😉

But as time went on, I grew extremely frustrated with our main character. Let me explain. Kay constantly compared Santa Nick to Finance Bro Nick AS IF THEY WERE A THING! Girl, you guys didn’t even establish if you were friends! Why are you saying it’s nice that your ex–YOUR EX, mind you–treats you right, gets you gifts, and takes you on romantic dates when Santa Nick couldn’t even give you a nice smile when you aren’t even dating him? I mean, what do you expect? Don’t be unfair. Give Nick 2 some slack. You make a complete fool of yourself at his workplace while you are drunk, always have your mind stuck in the gutter, and try to joke around with him and expect to give you some banter when it’s clearly not his forte. If you don’t expect people to mold you to their liking, then don’t expect people to mold themselves to your liking. It’s that simple. It’s obvious your ex is different to the new guy, and if you’re asking me, it should’ve been obvious from the beginning that Finance Bro Nick is not and never will be right for you. There were so many red flags blatantly waving in her face, but she chose to ignore them because he has money, looks good in suits, is good in bed, and because “he’s familiar and comfortable.” Really? What about his personality, his character, or his heart? Get out of your comfort zone and actually think if you’d want to waste more years of your life with him.

I’d cut her some slack if this was their first go and she was completely and utterly charmed by his smiles and romantic gestures, but she dated him for a year and, believe it or not, honey, but people change and so do your memories. Turns out, not everything is great or romantic in relationships because that’s life and people are people. Her friends tried to warn her, but that entered through one ear and went straight out the other. Fooled you once, shame on him. Fooled you twice, shame on you.

Besides my annoyance with that, the story wasn’t very Christmassy. Sure, you’ve got Santa, elves, presents, snow, and all that jazz, but it lacked the warmth, comfort, and magic that good stories usually portray in a Christmas story. Maybe it got lost in all the sex jokes and comparisons because I couldn’t find it anywhere. 🤷‍♀

I know I’m sounding harsh, and I’m sorry if it comes across that way. But time is something you can’t take back and this book was a waste of my time since I didn’t grow fond of the characters, didn’t care about the romance, and now I feel like Ebenezer Scrooge instead of Buddy the Elf. But just because I didn’t like this book doesn’t mean you won’t. There are good reviews for this book and I’m glad there are others out there who enjoyed it. Clearly, I am not one of them.

Now I’m going to drown my sorrows with eggnog, cookies, and a cheery Christmas movie because I need it after this. 😅

Thank you Netgalley and Storm Publishing for an ARC of this book!

If you're not knew here you know sometimes my ADHD makes my book choices for me. If you're new here, hi, I sometimes let my ADHD make book decisions for me 👋🏼.. It definitely keeps things interesting. Now, I'm not going to poll the class but, most could probably surmise why the squirrel side of my brain was drawn here (hint: I love a good pun).. usually I don't really read contemporary romance. I don't hate it but I'm just not particularly drawn to it. However the squirrel side of my brain did a good job with this one. It was super cute and I loved that it did follow a Christmas theme.. I feel like a lot of the holiday reads I've read thus far for 2025 have lacked the "holiday" aspect.. This one however is definitely worth an add to the Holiday TBR! The overall vibe is super cute and cozy, the humourous one-liners are plentiful, and again, thankfully it does bring all the Christmas "feels". Big Nick Energy is the perfect read for a chilly day, by a fire, with a warm beverage of choice.

Until next time,

Sometimes we all need a little romance. Read big nick energy delivered that in spades. In addition to being super cute, it was also funny and the characters were so adorable that I wanted to squish them and hug them for a very long time. I love empathetic characters that really see one another, and raising each other up. When it’s also fun to read, it creates a cozy feeling that makes you feel good about the world.

Well done, Bailey!

I really enjoyed this London-set festive romcom. It felt grounded in modern British life, but also had plenty of Christmassy sparkle and cheer. 🎄🎅💖 Love triangles can be a tricky plot trope (I often end up feeling sorry for the rejected suitor), but this was a warm-hearted story. The main character, Kay, was lovely and easy to root for. Looking forward to whatever Kristen Bailey writes next.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy.

Ho ho HOLY chaos! ✨🎄

This was a fun, festive, slightly unhinged holiday rom-com... and I was here for it! ☕🎁 Messy characters, sharp banter, small-town drama, and Christmas chaos galore. 😄🎄

I won’t lie... I was a bit confused at first, and one Nick definitely stole the spotlight more than the other. 👀❤️ But once it found its footing? Cute, cozy, and surprisingly heartfelt.

Perfect for reading under twinkle lights with hot chocolate in hand. 🧣☕

Would absolutely recommend if you want festive fun without taking things too seriously. 🎅📚✨

Oh this was such a funny romcom! Our FMC Kay was so freaking funny and honestly a little weird but in the best way. There was very clearly a “good” Nick and I was screaming at Kay the entire time to get it together with the right Nick.

Overall the humor, and the holiday vibes all landed perfectly and that ending was absolutely adorable. Now I just need the audiobook in my life.

♥️ What to Expect
• Holiday romcom
• Finance Nick
• Farmer Nick
• Librarian FMC
• Christmas tree meet cute

This book did nothing for me! I didn’t enjoy the writing (it was a struggle to get past the first 50%), there were too many sexual innuendos and jokes that I didn’t appreciate, because it got repetitive and tiring, and the overall story fell flat to me.

This is about Kay and her two Nicks. Nick #1 is someone she dated in the past but broke her heart. He’s back and it seems like he’s changed and she decides to give him a second chance. I didn’t like this Nick because he had so many red flags and often said things that rubbed me the wrong way. Nick #2 is someone who’s helping Kay with this library thing she’s got going on. He’s grumpy and their first interaction is not the best, but the more she knows him, the more she sees how kind he is. The type of person that’s always ready to help and that you can count on. I liked this Nick a lot, he’s great. But I didn’t care for any of them, I didn’t connect with the characters and, in my opinion, they lack depth.

The romance was such a joke because there’s no depth to these characters relationships and I didn’t feel any chemistry between Kay and the Nicks. The love triangle didn’t bother me because it’s not a big thing up until the end of the book, when Kay is having trouble deciphering her complicated feelings.

I didn’t like the pacing of the story, there were so many scenes that felt like fillers and added nothing to the story. I also felt like the book went on for too long and seemed way longer than it is.

Overall, it’s a pretty mediocre book. I did enjoy some things in the second half, but not enough to make me see this book in a positive light. It’s one of those stories I’ll quickly forget.

Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the e-arc

Kristen Bailey is quickly becoming my favorite Christmas author. Each year, I devour her Christmas books, and this one was no different. Big Nick Energy focuses on librarian and author, Kay Redman. When she runs into her ex-boyfriend, Nick, after 8 years, Kay believes it is a second chance to be with her first love. But after an incident involving a tree-netting machine, Kay meets another Nick entirely. As Christmas quickly approaches, Kay starts to have feelings for both Nicks. Will Kay choose a familiar love or something new altogether?

Big Nick Energy is a hilarious romantic comedy that will put you in the Christmas spirit. I loved Kay as the main character. The situations that Kay got into had me cracking up, and I loved the Chemistry with her and each of the Nicks. Although this book is definitely a comedy, there are plenty of emotional moments that made me love this book even more. If you are looking for a fun holiday rom-com, I would highly recommend this book.

Big Nick Energy is out October 20th.

This was such a fun and cozy Christmas audiobook! It did take me a little while to really get into the story, the beginning felt a bit slow but once things picked up, I was completely invested.

Kay’s situation with two Nicks made for such an entertaining, festive love triangle, full of funny moments and holiday charm. I really enjoyed the Christmassy atmosphere, the quirky side characters, and the sweet message about finding what (and who) truly makes you happy.

Listening Speed: 2X
Narrator: Harrie Dobby
Feedback: This was my first audiobook narrated by Harrie Dobby, and I absolutely loved it! I might be a little biased because I love a good UK accent, but she did such a wonderful job, warm, expressive, and so easy to listen to.

Overall, a great pick if you’re in the mood for something light, romantic, and full of festive spirit. 🎄✨🎧

Big Nick Energy by Kristen Bailey
Contemporary holiday romance.
Kay runs into her ex-boyfriend Nick at a London Christmas market and surprisingly feels a zing of attraction. He’s single now and there are enough sparks that she thinks it might time for a second try at a relationship. Then she meets another Nick at his family Christmas tree farm and there are sparks between them as well.
Kay alternates between Nicks and tries to decide where her future might be. Old Nick with a successful career and more than a little debonair or new Nick with his down to earth attitude and sweetness.
What will her future be.

🎧 I listened to an audiobook narrated by Harrie Dobby who did a wonderful performance. There are multiple distinct voices for Kay, Nick, and Nick. Emotions are heard clearly as the story progresses.
I did slow down the listening speed a bit (to 1.5) to more clearly understand the dialog with a British accent.

So many Nicks, Nicholas and St Nicks. It was amusing as each coincidence popped up.
Old Nick is suave for sure and brings influential advantages but new Nick is adorable and sweet and thoughtful.
Cute holiday romance. Glad the true colors are revealed.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley and Dreamscape media.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

I've read 3 books from Kristen Bailey set at Christmas time now, and she never fails to get me in the holiday spirit. In this story we have Kay who becomes caught up between two Nicks during the festive period. We have old Nick, an old flame who reappears to sweep her off her feet into the fancy world of champagne work dos and romantic dinners. And then we have New Nick, the Christmas tree farmer with the large chaotic family who's also a massive grump. It's pretty obvious from the get go who the reader is supposed to root for, and honestly I was absolutely fine with taking that route.

Kay is full of the joy of the season, working as a librarian and looking after her Nana with dementia, and it was really delightful to see her relationship with her work colleagues, who are desperate to set her up, but also with her Nana. It adds a touch of humanity to the story and really puts it above a normal fluffy romance for me. Don't get me wrong this doesn't get heavy with the content, it's firmly in the Christmas rom com vibes, but that extra touch and development for the characters really made this more appealing to me. The chemistry between Kay and new Nick was great too and I also liked the little nod to Kristen Bailey's summer romance Hot to Go by bringing in Lucy and (briefly) her sister Beth. I'd love for Lucy to get her own book - she's a blast, with the most random jobs. She's absolutely prime picking for a grumpy/sunshine romance of her own.

I do think I was a little let down by the ending of this though. The epilogue, sent only a year in the future, takes things a little too quickly for my liking and I honestly could have done without it.

Perfect Christmas rom com, some fun characters and lots of chemistry. Kristen Bailey so far has never let me down for Christmas romances.

A fun and festive holiday love triangle.

The premise of this story is simple:
There is one girl, Kay. And, there are two Nicks.
One Nick is Kay’s ex boyfriend, a fancy man in finance- who once broke her heart in a pub, but is looking for a second chance.
The other Nick is Santa-dressing farmer, who comes off a bit rude at first but woos her through lots of christmasy adventure.
Which Nick will she choose to give her heart to?

I liked this, actually a lot more than I thought I would!
The synopsis wasn’t really speaking to me at first, but I decided to take a chance on it because I saw so many people were loving it. And I found myself pleasantly surprised.

Kay is quite a likable main character.. She was mature, and what I would call “well-balanced”.
Fun, but not over-the-top and unrealistic.
I also liked her for her love and dedication to her grandmother, who was battling dementia.
It was both an emotional and sweet addition to the story.

As for the love triangle: I am going to say what probably very few people are saying:
I was rooting for Ex boyfriend Nick!
Sure, I know he wasn’t as fun, energetic and festive, but still.
I just didn’t vibe as much with farmer Nick, and I don’t know why.

The writing style of this was exactly what I like to see in a Christmas romance.
Very simple, and easy.
It reads quickly and doesn’t drag out, making it a great light read.
I know a lot of people are Kristen Bailey fans, and I can see why.

A librarian and two Nicks who couldn’t possibly be more different! New Nick is a grump who makes his own furniture and Old Nick is a finance bro who she dated and got dumped by years ago.

I was vibing so hard with this in the beginning! I couldn’t put it down. Then Old Nick came back and was just as bad as he was the first time?? And why was she entertaining both of these dudes for so long when neither one of them seemed to really like her 🫣 Even with that, I was still highly entertained so I kept reading and the whole last 30% was just disappointing. I didn’t end up liking or connecting with any of these characters, I didn’t understand any of their decisions, and the constant sexual thoughts about simple words from the FMC was…something. I enjoy a good giggle over a double entendre but every single word? I have two teens who don’t even do that lol. This ended up being a bummer unfortunately!

Thank you so much to Netgalley, Kristen Bailey, and Storm Publishing for providing this free E-ARC. This published on October 28th. This is my honest review!

Got the audiobook for review.

I enjoyed the book, it was sweet, a little funny and liked the Christmas vibes. But it wasn't a 4 star or more kind of read. While it wasn't a long book it felt long. But I enjoyed how it all ended and how it manged to still feel wholesome even if the slight messy plot.

This was so cute! It gave me hallmark vibes, and I'm 100% here for it. The funny moments truly had me laughing out loud. So many Nicks and so little time! It was beautiful watching her find out which Nick was best for and seeing her revelation of everything. It gave me all of the feels and the Christmas spirit! I also loved her Nana. She was literally so spunky and such a sweet soul! I absolutely LOVED this read. The perfect winter/Christmas read! I do not say this alot but THIS AUTHOR is now going on my auto-buy list. She has a remarkable way to tell a story. it's like chatting with your best friend next to a fire and having a cozy blanket wrapped around you. Such a warm and beautiful way with words!

ARC 5 Stars!!

Was I planning on reading a Christmas book in September? No. Did this put me in the hohoholiday spirit? YES ☃️

This book follows Kay and her Nick’s. Nick, the old flame who she shares a complicated past with but has recently found his way back into her life. And Nick, the local grumpy Christmas tree farmer who plays Santa at the farm who saves her from a hilarious accident with some tree netting.

This is hands down 🙇🏻‍♀️ one of the BEST Christmas books I’ve ever read. Here’s why:

The love triangle!!! They aren’t for everyone, but gosh dangit I love a good love triangle and this one kept things angsty and I didn’t really know who was going to end up together until about 75% through. I personally loathe insta love, and thankfully the love triangle trope made these characters slowly develop feelings and really spend time with each other before the final couple was revealed.

The secondary characters, specifically Lucy!!! Give me a book about Lucy because she was HILARIOUS! I loved all her commentary and I found myself laughing out loud countless times. Also she is such a sweet loyal friend :,)

Nana! Kay and her nana have such a beautiful relationship. The discussion of dementia and aging was very sad but real. Their bond is something all grandparents and grandkids wish to have. It reminded me of my relationship with my grandmother, so the personal connection made this book extra special.

Overall I was so happy with who Kay ended up with at the end. She chose the Nick that raised her up and supported her when she needed to believe in herself more.
Spice scale: this was a 1 chili pepper

MY VERY FIRST ARC!!! I'm so grateful to Kristen Bailey and NetGalley for picking me!

I didn't expect to be diving into a UK Holiday read in September but here we are and I loved it!

I think this book was infused with insane amounts of swoon-worthy, romcom primed Second Hand Cringe🤣

The Amount of Shenanigans that Kay would get into was just hysterical and felt very UK humor.

This was such a heartwarming holiday read!

I liked the love triangle aspect and how it gave the characters time to develop their feelings rather than rushing into romance. Without spoiling things... she does fall for Nick...

The family relationships were touching, especially Kay’s bond with her nana, which added a lot of heart. Nana is the best!

Thank you again to NetGalley for providing me the eARC of "Big Nick Energy" in exchange for my hoenst review!

i'm reading this out of season BUT at least i enjoyed it a lot more than the other KB book i'd read previously, so that's an improvement

other improvements i found: this one was actually FUNNY. not funny as in it had me laughing out loud, but funny as in it made me crack a smile or exhale harder through my nose. the dialogue was better, and i actually cared about the characters. there was certainly a struggle to choose which of the nicks to root for, and that's a sign of a strong love triangle for me.

however, i couldn't really get into the vibes. the book was entertaining, but i feel like i would've enjoyed it a lot more if i'd read it during christmas.

thanks to netgalley and the publisher for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review

Kristen Bailey writes the most hilarious Christmas shenanigans! I genuinely laughed out loud while reading this. And what a fun surprise with the unexpected character cameos from Five Gold Rings and We Three Kings, two of my very favourite Christmas reads!

Kay is thrilled about getting a second chance with her ex, Nick, when they reunite at a Christmas market. But complications arise when she connects with another man at a tree farm, also named Nick. Torn between polished, practical finance Nick and slightly grumpy, rugged farmer Nick, Kay finds herself juggling two very different romances as Christmas approaches.

It’s completely obvious who the endgame Nick will be, but despite the predictability, I still enjoyed seeing Kay come to that slow realization herself. And the right Nick was so sweet, caring, and dependable. In both the big moments and subtle moments, he was always there.

I really loved the little details outside the romance too, like the library setting, Kay’s supportive, hilarious friend group, and her relationship with her Nana, who’s dealing with dementia. At its heart, it’s a story about finding the type of love that lifts you up, and I enjoyed it so much!

(heat level: 1 very brief, mild open-door scene, innuendo throughout)

Kay is in such a dilemma. And what a dilemma to be in...two swoon-worthy men want to date her, both named Nick and making gestures to show that they care. Which Nick could be her Forever Nick? The old Nick, her first love who is wining and dining her and great in the bedroom? Or the new Nick, the sexy Santa that helped her after the netting disaster and when her car broke down?

As with all Kristen Bailey books, Big Nick Energy provides laugh out loud moments and heart warming romance. Rom-coms done right! I think I'm older than Kristen Bailey's target audience but I love reading her books.

Hilarious and full of adorable moments, this book sleighed me...

See what I did there?

This is the cutest little christmas book starring librarian and author Kay Redman. She stumbles into Nick, her ex, and is considering rekindling her past. Then, one of the silliest meet cutes ever happens.
Kay finds herself entrapt in a christmas tree netting machine and is saved by yet another NICK... this one a burly farmer who makes furniture with his bare hands.

And so the battle of the Nicks begins.
Kristen Bailey can write comedy and there's a little spice, but were not talking 5 pepper chilli, more like the spicy zing of a hot toddy after a cold day of sledding.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the chance to read prior to publication on Octover 21st.

3.5⭐️ A fun, easy read with plenty of LOL moments. I loved the Christmas theme, but the ending felt a bit rushed. I found myself wishing for more depth and drama instead of everything wrapping up so perfectly. Still, it’s a cute holiday story and definitely relatable if you’ve ever had a past relationship that keeps popping up.

A cutesy Christmas romance set in London and the surrounding towns, Big Nick Energy follows a woman torn between two Nicks in a festive love triangle. It’s light, funny, and packed with holiday charm, but it didn’t quite blow me away. The romance is closed-door and sweet, but the story never fully grabbed me or stood out from other holiday reads. The audiobook narrator was fine, though her character voices blended together a bit. Overall, a perfectly pleasant seasonal read, just not a standout.
