TRUTH HAS A PRICE

An independent newspaper covering the stories the majors ignore.

A team of idealistic young reporters on a crusade to expose the truth.

A cynical editor who knows truth doesn't pay the bills.

Researching a series of linked articles on prostitution in Perth and its impact on the city, the team begins to investigate the shadowy underworld of high-class escorts, massage parlours and illegal street trade.

Rachel poses undercover to infiltrate an exclusive escort service while Caroline searches for a woman fleeing from a vicious pimp, and Nate finds himself caught up in the violent life of a young street-walker.

As the team penetrates deeper into this industry of exploitation and vice, they discover a world of secrets and deceit operating just out of plain sight - a world hidden in the homeless shelters, back streets and cheap hotels of the city.

But when their investigation threatens to expose corruption in high places and vested interests in allowing the sex trade to flourish, it becomes clear that there are powerful forces who will go to any lengths to hide the truth.

And that truth can be dangerous.

City of Industry is the second in a new series of crime thrillers set in Perth, Western Australia, by JT Viner, author of the Detective Tony Packer novels and the Amazon #1, Home to Ravens.

Perfect for fans of JD Kirk, Ian Rankin, Jack Gatland, JM Dalgliesh, Patricia Cornwell and other crime thrillers.

The new Perth Reporter book is even better than the first one. A few different storylines start moving in surprising directions and the characters really start to come alive now that they are developing more.

There are a few really tense scenes and a twist that was totally unexpected.

This is shaping up to be a really excellent series.

A really great follow-up to the first Perth Reporter story.

I love the characters that make up this new team and it’s great to see strong female leads moving the story along.

JT is once again shining a light on the darker parts of Perth with a story about prostitution, violence and organised crime.

Gripping read and brilliant finish. Can’t wait to read the next in the series.
