Few spoilers below.
Sometimes I wonder if MH has a real issue with women, given that her recent book releases have had FMCs who have endured so much suffering in their lives. I really thought it would stop in her newer books, but nope, this one just had to go through another round of hell. Not only from her family but also from the MMC (although I get that he was unaware). Still, the point stands. Somehow it seems she prefers writing women who endure an excessive amount of hardship and abuse. And tbh, it always left a sour taste.
I probably should've stopped when the mistreatment of every man in Yuki’s (22) vicinity had become too much. I can hardly breathe every time I witness her reaction toward her father's men and Augusto (32). She doesn't deserve any of this. But stubborn me pushed through. I wanted her to get strong, and she eventually did. I also wanted to know how the MMC would "grovel" for what he had done. Ngl, I was surprised that I ended up appreciating his efforts.
This was a slow burn but also kind of fast at the same time. Fast in a way that Yuki fully trusted and fell for Augusto in less than two months. Well, he fell first, while it took a while for her to catch up. I can't blame her for taking her time. She didn't know if he was a good guy or if he was just trying to lower her defenses. Anyway, she eventually realized that he wasn't just putting on a show and actually cared for real.
Slowburn in the sense that nothing intimate happened until the 68% mark, I think? I didn't know if their steamy times were good, though. I skipped all of those. I couldn't be bothered by them, especially knowing the FMC is a freaking virgin. I hated that with passion. But to each their own.
But yeah, moving past that, I loved how Sam and Franco welcomed Yuki into their family. These two are my favorite couple in the first generation, so I'm really happy to see them as in-laws in this book. Yuki deserved this life after the hell she went through, and I'm glad she found a family that really cares and looks after her. I'm really happy that she got to reconnect with her brother, and it's good to see her abusers finally facing some consequences, even if it felt a bit anticlimactic.
And although it took me a while to warm up to Augusto, I feel like he somehow redeemed himself in this story. He did his best to earn her trust and forgiveness, and I feel the sincerity in his words and actions. He stood by her side, offering support and providing the time and space she needed to adjust to his presence. He never pressured her into anything, choosing instead to match her pace.
Anyway, I was really surprised that I actually liked it, even though the first half was pretty heavy with all the mistreatment and abuse Yuki went through. The second half really picked up and, imo, substantially made up for the rough start of this book.
I'm really curious about the other characters and their own stories. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Note on the torture:
Yuki was pretending to be her brother. She was forced to do such stuff since she was 11, and every 3 months they inject her with fillers to make her look "manly." There was an incident that happened at the start of the book that leads to Augusto's brother getting shot by Yuki's guard. They did their research and found out she’s actually the "son" of the Yakuza's head. So they kidnapped her to get their revenge. Augusto and his friend, Enzo, tortured her for days. They didn't know she was a woman. She hid it so well, thinking things could've gotten worse for her if they found out her real identity.
These torture scenes were fade-to-black, and they resulted in Yuki's getting four broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, a hairline fracture in her jaw, and missing teeth. The beating had been too much, to the point that she struggled to breathe anymore, so she had to remove her chest bindings. This is how they discovered her gender, which led to her quick release. Augusto and Enzo felt guilty for what they did because torturing a woman was never part of their rules.
If you can move past that and are willing to see how he made up for this, maybe you could enjoy this book. 🤷♀️

Hay libros en los que nuestra protagonista sufre de todo un poco y luego... zas, todo mágicamente se supera. Éste es uno de esos libros, pero en esta ocasión no me lo he creído. Hay veces en que los temas fuertes y sensibles necesitan tratarse con más profundidad y no solucionarlo en la página siguiente.
Por lo demás, de momento me gusta más la primera generación, aunque por supuesto seguiré leyendo, con Michelle a veces tengo altibajos y quizás el próximo sea más de mi gusto.

I have to say Yuki had a hard life she never got to experience life as a girl/woman because her abusive father made her dress as a boy and be undercover as her brother for years. like made her bind her chest, get fillers, all the works so she looks like him. which is sad because once the drama happens with Augusto and the family shes is tortured for a misunderstanding on her part. she never spoke out when Augusto did burtal things. until she finally couldn't take it anymore.
it resulted in Augusto feeling guilty for his actions and sick to his stomach. but they'll still would have killed her they just dont torture woman. 🤷🏻♀️
but not they are forced to be married to show alliance between the families so she has to learn to be a woman, wife all that. Augusto is sweet to her patient also, he makes sure that she understands he doesn't wanna force her and he'll give her a good life.
we see the couple grow together. there's still drama and moments with side characters I see whos next!!
Low angst, no ow/no om, no cheating, slight secondary character, drama, sexy time, virgin gal and no manwhore

4.5🌟!
What an awesome book! I was craving some mafia romance and this book hit all the spot.
Have to say, it was so wholesome to see all the big bad mafia heroes as parents.
Augusto the hero, is the son Franco and Samantha from previous series. I’d say he is the most sweetest mafia hero until you touch his family, then he becomes this unhinged, brutal leader.
I haven’t read a book before where the heroine is hiding as a man so it was a very refreshing concept for me.
I loved LOVED that the Yuki was Japanese. She was sweet, innocent and courageous. She was also so broken after a lifetime of abuse from her father. It was really good to see her blooming with the Vitales. Augusto was so patient with her.
Secondary characters were amazing, I hope Ryo gets his own book. I’m also very intrigued about Christian and Sienna. Can’t wait to read their story next.
The whole clan together was so much fun. Epilogue was cute.
No OW drama.

Guys, unfortunate news: he's actually not better than his father 😔 (Franco Vitale on top⬆ (of me)).
But, I mean the bar was high so this isn't really that big of a problem.
I liked this a lot and I was pleasantly surprised cause Michelle's last few books have been kinda flopping for me. Augusto was great (maybe not at the beginning but he did redeem himself). And Yuki godamn can that woman catch a break lmao😭 Honestly I'm just glad she's finally good and had a happy ending cause wtf was her life. I liked them; they were cute together.
Also, I really liked the appearances from the first gen and how they were subtile clues to them (How Augusto hates fish and that was the only thing his father wouldn't eat in Craving Danger: like father like son ig). And Samantha was such a good mother I LOVE HERRR + I NEED Christiano and Sienna's book like rn cause what do you mean they were dating and now she hates him??? what happened?? I NEED TO KNOW GIVE IT TO ME RNNNN

This book had potential but ultimately fell short of what I was hoping for. While the premise of an arranged marriage with dark themes sounded promising, the execution left me wanting more.
The main character’s backstory is undeniably tragic, and the author deserves credit for tackling heavy subject matter. However, I struggled with how quickly certain things were glossed over or resolved. The trauma she experienced deserved more depth and nuance in its exploration. At times, it felt like the story moved on before truly sitting with the weight of what happened.
me. While the male lead has his moments of being supportive and patient, I never fully connected with their relationship. The chemistry felt more told than shown, and their progression from strangers to lovers lacked the emotional punch I was craving.

I’ve looked like a boy since the age of eleven so I can impersonate my brother, Ryo.
“I’ll find you!” Ryo yells as he disappears from my view. “Yuki! I’ll find you again.”
He was the only person who showed me any kind of love before he was ripped away from me.
Yuki my strong girl was ripped from her brother at the age of eleven by their father, the head of the Yakuza. The only thought that kept her going was the possibility of being reunited with her brother. Flash forward 11 years, some hotheaded Yakuza members and Augusto Vitale is now seeking revenge against ”Ryo Tanaka”. What Augusto fails to realize in time is that the man he caught isn’t a man at all. Wanting to repent for his sins and to save the abused woman from yet another hell, he agrees to an arranged marriage.
I would recommend checking tw’s before diving into this one because Yuki’s life is rough and seeing her on page get even more broken down(not by mmc) was not pleasant in any way. I don’t know why MH has a hard on for almost all of her fmc’s to be traumatized but it is what it is I guess.
I do have a few complaints but this was actually a pretty pleasant surprise, considering my dislike (and in one case even hatred) for the 3/5 books prior in this series.

More pages, substance and actually getting to see Yuki and Augusto bloom together, see them fall in love, would have raised the bar a lot. As it is, it felt a bit rushed, especially considering Yuki’s past.
And I do of course have to mention my extreme dislike for Michelle’s returning appearance of ”virgin” fmc’s and not at all virgin mmc’s. Also for the love of whatever you believe in please I’m so tired of I don’t even know…….either the woman are pint sized or the men have dicks the size of two OLD coke cans stacked on each other ”it doesn’t fit” please shut uuuuuuuuuppp
I loved seeing Yuki find her place with Samantha and Franco(Augusto’s parents)!! Augusto is a decent H, he actually had me smiling a few times. Would read but not buy.

He was the only person who showed me any kind of love before he was ripped away from me.
Yuki my strong girl was ripped from her brother at the age of eleven by their father, the head of the Yakuza. The only thought that kept her going was the possibility of being reunited with her brother. Flash forward 11 years, some hotheaded Yakuza members and Augusto Vitale is now seeking revenge against ”Ryo Tanaka”. What Augusto fails to realize in time is that the man he caught isn’t a man at all. Wanting to repent for his sins and to save the abused woman from yet another hell, he agrees to an arranged marriage.
I would recommend checking tw’s before diving into this one because Yuki’s life is rough and seeing her on page get even more broken down(not by mmc) was not pleasant in any way. I don’t know why MH has a hard on for almost all of her fmc’s to be traumatized but it is what it is I guess.

This was a cozy mafia romance — very much Michelle Heard–style cozy, as always. The mafia element is clearly present and important to the plot, but the story focuses more on emotional connection and protection than on violence or revenge.
The book is emotionally heavy in places, especially because of Yuki’s trauma tied to her father. Those moments add depth and weight without making the story overwhelming. Yuki’s healing journey is handled gently, which fits the overall tone of the book.
Yuki and Augusto had an easy, natural connection. I really liked how their relationship developed through trust, patience, and emotional safety. Watching Augusto balance his mafia responsibilities with genuine care and protectiveness toward Yuki was one of the strongest parts of the story.
The tension comes from both mafia stakes and personal trauma, and the balance between them works well. You feel the danger, but it never overshadows the comfort of the romance.

After finishing Craving Revenge, I needed a whole day to process what I had just read, as it was an intensely emotional rollercoaster.
Augusto’s trip to Japan was driven by one goal: to confront and eliminate the man who put his brother in the hospital. este libro estaba yendo lento (como tenía que ser) hasta que se casan porque pasó de 0 a 1000 en cuestión de nada. no entiendo cómo se enamoraron si casi no convivieron. no me gustó que ella rechazara y no volviera la sacar la idea de un psicólogo DESPUES DE TODO POR LO QUE PASÓ. No entiendo cómo superó tan normal y, en cierta medida, rápido lo que le hizo el Augusto. o sea, al principio el pánico y todo esto estuvo bien, pero después de casarse pum! se desvaneció y no hubo profundidad.
y ese es uno de mis problemas con MH. yo siento que ella por el supuesto dark romance siempre pone temas muy serios y horribles pero no les da profundidad y los pasa muy rápido, y así no funciona, no me terminó de creer nada.
debo admitir que hace mucho una escena (en este caso todas) sexuales no me daban cringe y un poquito de asco hasta que leí las de aquí.
siento que Yuki fue una mezcla rara de mujer que ha sufrido mil traumas y a la vez sigue siendo una niña (recordemos que no pudo vivir su vida) y todo es muy nuevo para ella, por lo tanto su "amor" con el Augusto me pareció más de niña que se enamora de su crush. por parte de él, en ningún momento la considero como una potencial esposa, solo hizo todo el supuesto "grovel" (que para mí no fue grovel en absoluto) porque su conciencia no le permitía seguir así. siento que lo que hizo fue muy minino porque si hubieran sido otras circunstancias, lo más probable es que también hubiera tratado de hacer que Yuki se sintiera como en casa y hubiera hecho todo esos regalos y demás. pensaba que el grovel iba a ser diferente.
en fin, siento curiosidad por el otro libro y vamos a ver cuando salgan, pero fe no tengo.

Книги цієї авторки настільки легко і круто заходять — не дивлячись на те що, розвиток подій в принципі завжди має схожість: вона дівчина в біді, а він її рятує та стає одержимим нею. Але мені ніколи не набридне це читати, до того ж авторка зажди додає якихось деталей чи чогось цікавого, і має ідеальний баланс мафії та любовної лінії 🙃
В даному випадку ми маємо дівчину Юкі, яка є дочкою голови «Якудзи» (японська мафія) і змушена бути двійником свого брата. І тут в прямому сенсі авторка написала, що її не одноразово змушували робити косметологічні втручання - а саме кололи філери, щоб добитися більшої схожості до чоловічої зовнішності.
І коли одного разу між кланом «Якудзи» та «Коза Ностри» стався конфлікт, Юкі викрали і допитували - ніхто не міг уявити що за цим одягом і зовнішністю ховається жінка.. І це були не найгірші випробування для неї, адже після цього полону та побиття - батько вирішив влаштувати для Юкі договірний шлюб з її найбільшим страхом, з тим хто віддавав накази за її побиття — Аугусто Вітале капо «Коза Ностри».
Якщо події які сталися в минулому вона змогла ще якось пережити, то шлюб з монстром здається неможливою місією.
Мені книга сподобалась, розвиток сюжету був динамічний та цікавий. Головні герої були добре прописані і емоційні, що для мене є важливим. Один мінус, я просто неможу вкласти в голові собі картинку зі зовнішністю головної героїні - після стількох пережитих уколів в лице, авторка описує її як богиню краси👀
Любовна лінія була доволі ніжна та розвивалась повільно, а ось сцени сексу були дуже гарячі🔥
Ще один плюс це зустріти героїв з попередніх книг, але вже в ролі батьків🥹

Estoy sensible y me la pase llorando con este libro 😭. Ame a Yuki y Augusto 🫶🏻.
Lo primero que voy a decir es que se tomen las advertencias en serio porque lo que le pasa a Yuki en su vida es algo horrible y triste. Ella paso años siendo obligada a hacerse pasar por un hombre (su hermano) y desde pequeña sufrió mucho maltrato de parte de su padre y su mano derecha quienes la obligaban a pasar por mucha violencia para hacer bien su papel pero también lo hacían porque eran malos y no le importaba el bienestar de Yuki y le hicieron tanto daño que casi ni sabía como ser mujer y nunca desarrollo su personalidad 😭.
Augusto me dió mucha pena la verdad porque en el mundo de Michelle sabemos que ellos lo dan todo por su familia y que cuando les hacen daño a los suyos toman venganza y en este caso el no sabía lo que estaba pasando con Yuki y mucho menos que ella era mujer. Cuando el decidió casarse con ella para darle una vida lejos de la violencia y tratarla con amor tuve miedo porque ella realmente le tenía terror a el después de los tres días que estuvo encerrada pero las cosas con el tiempo cambiaron y el fue muy paciente con ella a la hora de "enseñarle" lo que estaba bien y mal, cosa que la ayudo mucho porque al inicio ella cría que debía de hacer todo bien para no ser golpeada y el le demostró que solo quería su seguridad y felicidad.... Y con el tiempo su amor ❤️😭. ME GUSTO MUCHO EL LIBRO 🫶🏻

Estuvo entretenido, el inicio está un tanto fuerte pero es una buena historia, pero siento que la historia está desarrollada muy rápida, no me gustó como ese cambio después de que Yuki se va a NY, creo que la historia la forzaron para que todo pase muy rápido y tener un final feliz.
Todo la historia quería meterme al libro y abrazar mucho a Yuki. 😭
Prefiero mil veces el libro de Franco y Samantha, espero que los otros libros de la segunda generación me gusten más.

Craving Revenge aka KDrama for Cosa Nostra?
Michelle Heard second gen çıkaracağını açıkladığında en çok sevindiğim kitap bu olmuştu. Craving Danger takıntımı bilen bilir. Arada beni bol bol RS’ den çıkarmıştır. En çok da Franco & Samantha’ nın ebeveynliği dolayısıyla onları tekrar göreceğim için çıldırmıştım, tam da beklediğim gibi olmuş, üçüzleri harika 👏🏻 Rina Kent’ in second gen saçmalığından sonra (JEremy & Cecily hariç) ikinci jenerasyon okumak bana zor geliyor.
Neyse, Michelle Heard son serisinin garabetliğinden sonra eski çizgisine geri dönmüş görünüyor, Augusto (32) aynı babası gibi ☺️ Ama neden kadınlara bu kadar acı çektiriyor yazar asla anlamıyorum.Bu sefer de Yuki (22), çocukluğundan beri abisinin yerine adeta bir dublör olarak yetiştirilmiş, bir gün klüpte kadının tekine (aslında hayranlıkla) bakar ve olaylar gelişir.
Yani kitabın tropelarına bakınca ay bu kadar şeyi nası 200 sayfada denk getirmiş oldum ama neyse kendi içinde bir mantık çerçevesine oturdu gibi gibi ☺️Yuki’ nin yaşadıkları hem manen hem bedenen çok ağır geldi.🥹
Christiano ile Augusto’ nun kız kardeşinin kitabının da merak ettim.. Reverse Age Gap MH daha önce yazdıysa da ben hatırlayamadım. Çok şükür yazar hızlı çalışıyor da seneden 5-6 kitapla coşuyoruz. Ama su sayfa olayını azıcık artırsa da bi işe yarasa..

Michelle Heard is back with her newest Mafia Romance, Craving Revenge.
Although it is the start to the second generation spinoff, it is book 6 in Kings of Mafia series.
This interconnected Standalone follows the story of Augusto Vitale, son of Franco and Samantha Vitale from book 2 Craving Danger. And the FMC Yuki Tanaka, daughter to the head of Yakuza, through their dual perspectives.
I loved the different take to the story of Augusto and Yuki, seeing as it was unexpected and somewhat unique, having me even more intrigued as the story played out.
It was quite the action-packed narrative, considering how early on the thrills began, something I also wasn’t expecting, but very much liked and enjoyed.
It made the set up of this story differ, by changing up the typical layout you would expect in a Mafia book. At least it did for me.
Although there had been times I could see where the storyline was heading, but nonetheless it didn’t stop me from finding Craving Revenge to be a well written, satisfying read.
My heart truly broke for Yuki, but that was to be expected when you learn about all the suffering she faced and endured, causing her brokenness from not only being teared down bit by bit and piece by piece constantly. As well as her traumatic past that is divulged along the way.
Her journey was quite an emotional one filled with so much abuse both mentally and physical, leading to a lot of pain, hurt, misery, torment that just never seemed to end given the continuation of the path she ventured upon. At least until Augusto intervened. That it had you constantly feeling sorry for her.
Augusto was truly his mother Samantha’s son, outside of the Mafia.
The way he was towards Yuki, doing everything in his power to help her to assimilate to her new life, while repenting for his mistakes that he did to her.
I really loved seeing the pieces of Augusto and Samantha’s mother-son relationship, it truly was heart warming.
The love they shared and how they were there for one another. And how easily Augusto could go to her for anything, opening up completely, it was beautiful to see.
The relationship development between Augusto and Yuki may have started off rocky with many bumps, but eventually it paved the way to being beautiful, heartfelt and heartwarming through the Slow Burn. That turned out to be very much worth the wait IMO.
From it being established, to slowly blossoming over a well drawn out period of time given the paced out small and slow steps, it allowed for realism.
Seeing it being laid out by being able to learn every little thing in between as it grew for both Yuki and Augusto. Especially Yuki given all that she had faced, endured and suffered through, it only made sense for it to be built piece by piece with taking it slow.
And so when Augusto and Yuki’s relationship made head way, it felt all the more real and authentic.
Having all the secondary characters in the form of first and second generation was great to see.
It added more feels from not only the found family aspect, given the tightness of the group with the relationships shared and how they were there for one another.
But also from seeing an update into the first generation of how far they had come since their own stories, while simultaneously learning about who the second generation are, how they fit into the story and series. As well as little bits and pieces of what to expect in the rest of the books yet to come in the series.
With Craving Revenge being the start to the second generation, Queen of Mafia Romance managed to kick things off with a bang in the form of Augusto and Yuki’s story.
Delivering the right mix of action-packed thrills, suspense and drama, alongside a super emotionally charged Mafia Romance that had you in all the feels. Particularly due to the pain and heartache that was the beginning of Augusto and Yuki’s relationship. Eventually leading to a comforting and heartwarming HEA for the two in this well written, enjoyable read.
And that epilogue, it was simultaneously chefs kiss and the cherry on top of the cake from the look we were given of Augusto and Yuki’s future.
I am looking forward to the next book Forceful God, which will have us following Christiano and Sienna’s story. As well as the rest of the series to come.

Although it is the start to the second generation spinoff, it is book 6 in Kings of Mafia series.
This interconnected Standalone follows the story of Augusto Vitale, son of Franco and Samantha Vitale from book 2 Craving Danger. And the FMC Yuki Tanaka, daughter to the head of Yakuza, through their dual perspectives.
I loved the different take to the story of Augusto and Yuki, seeing as it was unexpected and somewhat unique, having me even more intrigued as the story played out.
It was quite the action-packed narrative, considering how early on the thrills began, something I also wasn’t expecting, but very much liked and enjoyed.
It made the set up of this story differ, by changing up the typical layout you would expect in a Mafia book. At least it did for me.

This book was a combination of the parents + books from Michelle's first saga, and I simply DEVOURED it. I love it when we have that mafia man, older than you, tattooed and mysterious, who becomes obsessed and wants to protect you.
Augusto Vitale was that man, a worthy son of his father Franco.

I didn’t know if I wanted more of the torture session or less 🤔 (yes I am twisted like that) The whole dark part of the book is completed before 30%
The book is globally Augusto grovelling and praising Yuki.
There are no more big action after Augusto realised she is a woman.
But shit the amount of degradation and pain Yuki had to go through…
I still enjoyed it but found the initial idea so good that I wanted more.

OMG, this book had me bawling from the very first chapter. Yuki is genuinely one of the best FMCs in Michelle’s entire world. Her character is layered, resilient, and written with so much heart.
I’m keeping this short to avoid spoiling anything, but I have to say: the way Michelle crafted Yuki’s journey was beautiful. Her past didn’t hold her back from trying again, from hoping again and watching her give Augusto a chance, even after everything she’s been through, was so powerful. ❤️
And Augusto? I loved seeing him work for it. His growth, his effort, his devotion… it all made their story hit even harder.💕
Please, please read the trigger warnings before diving in, because this book does not shy away from heavy emotions. But that’s exactly why Michelle’s mafia universe remains one of the best out there. The plot, the writing, and the raw emotions take you on an unforgettable, breathtaking ride.
