Wilder: A Forced Proximity, Opposites Attract MM Motorcycle Club Romance

Rate this book
A dark MM motorcycle club gay romance featuring a protective biker, a deaf hero, opposites who shouldn’t work, and a love defined through hurt, comfort, and found family.

If he’s only supposed to be a distraction, why can’t he let him go?

Wilder’s life has been torn apart by betrayal. For thirteen years, his family kept a secret that shattered his trust and left him questioning everything. It’s not something he knows how to forgive, but fortunately, he’s easily distracted. Emmett challenges him, and he finds himself drawn to much more than the man’s body, and when Emmett needs protection, he’s the first to volunteer.

Barely out of an abusive relationship with an ex that won’t leave him alone, Emmett isn’t the least bit prepared for Wilder or the way the man makes his pulse race. Wilder is funny, fierce, and unexpectedly gentle. He knows a man like Wilder could easily break him, but when Wilder touches him, the world stops spinning and everything seems to make sense again. He wants more, even if he knows it’s just temporary.

Emmett is a distraction Wilder knows he can’t afford. Not with the club under siege. With escalating attacks, it’s clear someone wants to burn everything the Kings have built to the ground. Except the real target might not be the club at all…

Ana Night is a writer of suspenseful gay romance. She’s an avid reader who has loved the written word since she discovered it. When she was a kid, she never went anywhere without a notebook. She was always writing, be it in the backseat of the car, between classes in school, or by the pool on vacations.

Ana is a self-proclaimed expert in hugging, people climbing and especially ugly dancing. When she’s not writing, you can find her with her nose buried in a book, singing and dancing, watching her favorite TV shows, or creating book covers.

Ana lives in Denmark where she spends most of her time running from her ninja kitty—that one goes for the ankles—and getting lost in the woods with her horse.

It took me some time to get into this book.

I did really enjoy the big tough biker and sweet artist pairing, and how much they were drawn to each other, despite believing it can’t go anywhere. Both these men have been hurt in different ways and find themselves again with each other’s help.

Emmett’s immediately loveable – such a good heart, fiery and loyal – but it did take me a minute to warm up to Wilder. Fair play to him though, he did immediately adjust his attitude after Emmett dresses him down for his initial reaction towards the artist’s deafness, and this was a massive plus for him.

I couldn’t get enough of the softer side that Emmett draws out of Wilder. I was particularly in love with how much Wilder appreciates Emmett’s body and his “soft and squishy” bits. How could I not melt over how Emmett feels when Wilder looks at him?

Wilder never thought he’d settle down or fall in love, but he absolutely cannot help his feelings towards the other man.

I will say that at times the third person narrative didn’t agree with me and in those moments, I wished that this was written in the first person. I think that would have made the emotion hit even harder for me.

I’ll also add – and I absolutely appreciate this is on me so haven’t taken this into account when deciding on a rating – I did feel a bit disadvantaged by not reading the previous two books in the series and wish I had before reading this one. I think I’d have had an richer experience if I’d have fully known all the dynamics between the bikers.

Fave quotes

“I’m soft and squishy.” “And what exactly makes you think I don’t want soft and squishy?”

“I love the way you look. I love that I can grab onto you. I love that you’ re real. That you’re open and honest with me.”

“He’s not worth it. He’s not worth a single thought in my head. I’m done letting the insecurities he fed lead my life.”

“I don’t think anyone’s ever said my name like that before.” “Like what?” “Like you’re divine? Like I can’t get enough of you? Of your body?”

“You know, you came here a broken kid with too many scars no one could see, and still, you protected everyone. You were always the buffer. The one to put things right.”

Emmett was the part of him that had been missing his whole life. The part he’ d searched for but never found. Until Emmett. Until he’d looked at him with those brilliant blue eyes and taught him there was more to life. There was more to love.

“I love him. Wilder is my home. He’s where I want to be.”

“Never change. Not for anything or anyone. I love you just as you are.”

oh yeah

This was good. Now I don’t read the other books because some of them are just not my jam, but I didn’t feel confused or lost. The author did a good job in clueing us into knowing the relationship between the side characters and the MCs. I loved this family. I love how this motor cycle club actually does good. In the would we are living in today I wish there were more motor cycle clubs like this. The taking the trash out. I loved how these two finally let their walls down and let each other In. I love the family setting. Found family is everything. I know the writer said she was taking a break but when she comes back I’d be interested in a few others stories.

This book delivers everything I want in a romance with danger at its edges: wounded characters, slow‑burn trust, and a bond that feels both fragile and fierce. Wilder is a man living in the wreckage of a betrayal that reshaped his entire life. His anger, his confusion, and his struggle to reconnect with the people around him feel raw and real. What makes him so compelling is the contrast—he’s tough, sharp‑tongued, and battle‑ready, yet when it comes to Emmett, there’s a gentleness he can’t hide. Emmett, meanwhile, is still healing from an abusive relationship, and the book treats his trauma with care. His fear, his hesitation, and the way he slowly lets himself trust again are beautifully written. Watching him rediscover desire—and safety—in Wilder’s presence is one of the story’s most rewarding arcs. Their chemistry is electric. It’s not just physical attraction; it’s two damaged men recognizing something in each other that feels like home. Their moments together are tender, tense, and deeply satisfying. This story blends emotional depth, heat, and action with remarkable balance. If you love romances where broken pieces fit together, protective instincts run deep, and danger lurks just outside the door, this book is absolutely worth the read.

What a beautiful story. I know this is book three but this is my first time reading Ana’s work. I loved Wilder and Emmett.

Emmett was the only person who could capture Wilder’s heart. Everyone knew Wilder wasn’t the relationship type but that was because he never found someone who would make him want it all.

He made Wilder feel like he was worth sticking around for. After everything he went through, he needed someone like Emmett to brighten his life.

Emmet never thought that being commissioned to paint a mural would get him the love of his life. After being abused by his ex, the last thing Emmett thought was that he would find love with the most unexpected man.

Wilder saw his insecurities and vulnerability without making him feel bad about himself. He loved everything about Emmett that his ex made him self conscious about. He saw him and wanted him as is.

Wilder was gone the moment he looked into Emmett’s eyes. He knew he could never let him go.

I love this mc world Ana has written.

Wilder is a great addition.
I loved Emmett and Wilder , and enjoyed their story.
It is emotional, learning to trust again , sweet, dangerous , mystery, dark romance. Great characters.
There are some unanswered things from an underlying story in this series. I can’t wait for the next book.

It wasn't bad but it dragged in parts. When I feel a book is too long it is bc I find it boring. The close nit family element I always love
