Evie Quinn is a survivor, but she's tired of being a pawn in everyone else's game.
She never asked to be the heir to the fae throne, a walking, otherworldly bridge for the gods, or the hottest bachelorette in the supernatural realms. But here she is—dodging dozens of random marriage proposals and doing her best to keep Caelan from committing paranormal genocide.
Everyone wants a piece of Evie these days. The Council's patience has worn off, and they're ready to marry her off to the highest bidder. The gods want to use her for their own gain, and Caelan is growing ever frustrated with her attempts to keep things between them paused. But Evie still isn't ready to be a queen or a bride or a bridge, or anything forcing her to give up her autonomy.
But time has run out, and with Evie's inner monster dangerously unstable, her only hope might be to do the one thing no one expects—finally taking control of her world-shaking power, her fate, and most important of all, her heart.

This series went such a disappointing route. The author clearly has a fetish for toxic men who use, abuse, lie to, betray, and harm women. I truly don't get it.
Caelan needs to be gone out of Evie's life for good. He's screwed up in hundreds of ways. Enough is enough. No real partner, and certainly no mate, would behave that way.
I'm so disappointed in this series. I wanted them to break up once this book ended, and for her to end up with Rowan. He's an actual good guy and would be good for her.
I don't know if I'll finish the series. I read the previews for the next books and seeing her end up with Caelan is just yuck. And it makes me angry. We don't make amazing FMC martyrs to horrible men. We don't want to read about that. There's no real HEA with someone like that.
I've read other books by this author, and it's definitely a thing they do regularly. I won't be reading any other series by them.
If it’s not one thing… Things are going well for Evie personally, magically and professionally until they’re not. There’s new drama or the same ongoing drama with the shifter lords depending on your perspective. When that gets out of hand Evie’s dad appears and drops an info bomb that just might crack her life to pieces. Between that and an unexpected for that no one sees coming Evie is neck deep in trouble in no time. It’s always something. Game on indeed. This story and this series keeps you guessing. There is never a dull moment and just when you think you have a handle on things surprise twist. I don’t know what’s next for Evie but man do people need to stop trying to manipulate her already and that includes Caelan. He needs a reality check stat! Very excited for the next book!!
Every time Evie’s life seems to be getting better something happens to turn her world upside down. With constant turmoil and lies Evie has to navigate carefully to figure out who she can trust and who she should trust.
Shifting Resolve basically undoes all the forward movement of the preceding novel for the characters in terms of their relationships.
And this was to be expected given the twisted plots and various natures of the characters involved with the main character of Evie Quinn.
With her growing powers exposed, during the climatic events with the Life Tree, multiple threats and challenges are leveled against her. And her un-acknowledged partner, lord of shifters, Caelan as well.
There’s so many complex storylines woven into the narrative to keep track of. Various Lords with their own agendas, Evie’s father and mother whose hidden secrets and paths for Evie are also unknown.
Those secrets the reader has been told and know they are explosive in their own ways, are elements that have storylines that haven’t been factored in yet. It’s labyrinthine structure that makes this series so gripping and compelling.
That’s the case here where stress and anxiety are the common theme, secrets are key, and everyone is trying to control Evie and claim a part of her . When she doesn’t want to be claimed or controlled.
And everyone around her has an hidden or not so secret agenda.
It’s high action, high suspense, high mystery and it ends in a cliffhanger of sorts. But one that the reader honestly will expecting. Because we saw it coming.
I love the characters and this very layered, complex story. And I’m rooting for Evie and her small group of friends.
Highly recommended and I can’t wait for the next one in this series.
So well written and beautifully executed.

Shifter Lords series: Shift of Heart #1 Shift of Morals #2 Power Shift #3 Shifting Winds #4 Shifting Resolve #5 Shift of Rule #6 Shift of the Wild #7
I absolutely loved this book and I love this series! When Shift of Resolve begins Evie and friends are really in a nice, happy place. As the story begins, things have calmed down after the dramatic conclusion of the previous book, and you really wish Evie could stay in that happy peaceful place for a lot longer. Unfortunately, the political scheming of those around her keep dragging her out of the simple life that she so wants. Shifter Lords, Gods, unwanted marriage proposals, it’s all just a little too much for poor Evie to handle and you can’t blame Evie with where she is by the Epilogue.
I really like Evie, and I love her found family of Moira, Tess, and Ash. Moira really shines in this book and I liked that we learned a smidge more about her. The shenanigans she and Evie got into were the highlight of this book for me and I have to say, my favorite line was probably “Moira was right...(spoiler)” it definitely cracked me up! I have been a fan of Caelan for several books, but in this book, there were a couple of events that seemed a little out of character for the people involved, Caelan included, so I’m looking forward to the next book to see what’s really going on. There was definitely a lot going on in this book, mayhem, mischief, mystery, and my only real complaint is that I read it too quickly and now am stuck impatiently waiting for the next book in the series!
Episode 5 in the life & times of the Little Shop of Florals gang starts out fairly tame with our FMC & MMC enjoying their time together. Things quickly change. New characters & new challenges face the gang. A new chimera, the return of a swan shifter, & other shenanigans abound. I enjoyed the chapters with perspectives of different characters. Evie learns a few big things and has some new challenges to face. Her relationships with her family are growing & changing. We get deeper with her friends and love life as well. I can't wait to see what happens in episode 6!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ugh. I just finished this book and I’m so very aggravated with all the characters. LOL! I won’t say why but will say they, or at least most of them, are just so wrapped around with plots, schemes, and just so much more you can’t believe a word out of anyone’s mouth. However, even if I’m aggravated, I sure did love this. It’s filled with non-stop action, engaging scenes, wonderful writing, and I can’t wait to read the next book so I can just be aggravated all over again. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Gotta be honest, not a huge fan of Caelan - I want her to give Rowan a shot. I feel like this installment was really setting up the next installment as not a lot happened during this book other than new information coming to light.
I didn’t like at the end how Evie immediately regard her confrontation and took blame as if she self sabotage when I feel like she was justified for being upset that people were lying to her and keeping very important information to themselves.

Though this is the fifth book in the series it was still a good read, I don’t often find that to be the case and usually quit a series around the third book. Now the very long wait for book six…
I’m always happy when a new book in the series is released. Things get really complicated for them all in this fifth book of the series. It will keep you guessing and leaves you eagerly awaiting the next book.
This was the fifth book in this series and it did not disappoint. So many intriguing issues turn up. Evie find out some disturbing news and some more dangerous people after her Chimera bloodline.
Just when you think things are going great…….. BAM everything gets turned on its head. There’s action, mischief and mayhem and twists and turns to keep you guessing and with new challenges to face, our characters have a lot on their plate. Looking forward to the next book!
