A thousand zombies on screen mean nothing. One in your home means everything.
Anna Sanders is a writer and a recluse who hasn’t stepped outside her house in years. Her quiet, orderly life shatters the night her despised neighbor, Mr. Holloway, appears at her door—burning with a strange fever. His skin is searing hot. His movements are no longer human. And he is terribly, impossibly hungry.
By opening the door, Anna lets chaos inside—and turns the coming night into pure hell.
One Dead Thing is not the zombie story you’re used to. No hordes. No easy kills. Just one woman, one house, and one dead thing that cannot be stopped.
A claustrophobic, slow-burn psychological horror that shows the raw truth of what it means to face the living dead.

Anna Sanders, an agoraphobic writer, has built a sanctuary of safety in her home. One night, her neighbor turns up at her door, asking for help after a laboratory accident. Against her better judgement, Anna lets him in—trapping her in her sanctuary with a horror that has a hunger for more than she can imagine.
This short story is a perfect Halloween season read! Reading it evoked a sense of claustrophobia and dread that just kept building until the end, and the ending wrapped up the short in a chilling and unexpected way!
I was gifted a free copy of One Dead Thing direct from the author, and want to thank Dean Harrow for giving me the opportunity to read and review this release!
A powerful and intense read! Dean keeps us on the edge of the seat in this short thriller about Anna, an agoraphobic who is trapped inside her house with a zombie. The action is great, and the suspense keeps you turning the pages. And poor Whisper. Can't wait to read more from him in the future.
