Letting go has never been so fun…or so dangerous.

The last thing Sasha needs is court-mandated anger management therapy, but it’s either that or spend thirty days in jail. When vandals trashed her family’s food truck, her first reaction was to fight, and now she’s paying the price. But when she shows up for her first counseling session, the nerdy administrative assistant there is anything but professional.

Cameron is pretty sure you can’t die from overwork, but he might be close. He’s struggling to function through burnout, and if he can’t pull himself together, he won’t graduate on time, much less get his dream job at The Well Space. To make things worse, he falls asleep in the office and wakes up to find a tattooed, dark-haired woman standing over him.

Sasha agrees not to tell Cameron’s boss about his poor job performance…as long as he does her one little favor. Roped into working at Sasha’s food truck over spring break, Cameron finds attraction blazing to life between them.

The more Sasha shows Cameron how to have fun, the less he feels like doing the sensible thing. But when Sasha puts herself in danger again, Cameron will have to take the leap and trust his feelings over logic.

Nice ending to this series centered around a mental health counseling practice.

Admin assistant and grad student Cameron is working on his dissertation which is due in a matter of weeks, and necessary for him to be able to provide talk therapy services, hopefully in same the practice in which he’s currently working. When he’s caught fast asleep by a court-ordered anger management client, he’s both intrigued by the brunette bombshell, and worried that his employer will find his behavior unacceptable. He readily agrees to help the scrappy Sasha in return for her silence.

After long mornings prepping for her father’s food truck, Sasha spends her work days teaching self-defense and martial arts classes to women, then returns to help serve knishes and bialys. When she tossed a vandal through a plate glass storefront after repeated defacing and vandalism of the food truck, she’s charged rather than the vandal, and ordered to pay restitution and attend anger management training. She decides to rope the charming but nerdy Cameron into helping take some pressure off her weary father.

Cameron quickly becomes dear to Sasha in many ways: his tireless work ethic, and his genuine regard for her in particular, but Sasha has never done a long term relationship, and is certain it won’t work.

With their agendas at cross purposes, they embark on a friends plus situation, but Cameron wants much more. Can they work through their challenges and make space for each other? Will Cameron’s workload burnout cost him both his advanced degree and his promotion?

This was my favorite book in the series, and the author has become a stronger writer with each subsequent novella.

I received an advance reader copy from the author and booksirens, and I’m sharing my honest review.

I love this little series so much and I’m so happy to have read Cameron’s story. He’s been such a hardworking side character and to read more about him and see him in his element but also outside of it and having fun with Sasha - it was perfect! Opposites definitely attract and this story is proof. There was chemistry from the start and I love the balance the main characters offered one another. It all felt so natural and the HEA for Cameron and The Well Space, ughhhh, I’m obsessed.

This wasn’t my favorite of the series, I really think book 2 was the best one. I liked the MMC and the FMC but I do wish there was more development especially of the FMC. A lot of that seemed to happen off page whereas the MMC’s character development seemed to happen on page. It was ok, just not my favorite of the series.

ARC from author, review is all mine.

"Over Work"

(The Well Space, book 3)

by S. M. Levine

Tropes:
❤️‍🔥Slow Burn
❤️friends to lovers
💥opposites attract
💗nerd (him) / jock (her)

It follows the story of Cameron, a 29 workaholic-near-burnout man (how many of us will feel connected to him...) and Sasha, a fierce tattooed young woman who is on probation for using martial arts to defend her father's food truck.

Cameron's last relationship was 7 years ago and Sasha only uses man for her physical needs and no emotions attached. Opposites in everything.

And then they meet in Cameron's most down moment of his entire life and Sasha helps him realize that life is so much more than just work. And together they change into better ones.

I think the most important lesson we must think about when reading this book is: love. Love can conquer everything; we just have to keep our minds and our hearts open to it.

Thank you to the author for this ARC.

some my favorite quotes:

Today was even a special day, in theory. His birthday. But it didn't matter. Work came first, always.

People who let their emotions rule them had more messes to clean up.

She was even more vibrant than he'd remembered, every part of her somehow more bright than her surroundings.

Something about Sasha tugged at him and wouldn't let go.

Her curves belonged in a museum.

The whole world was in her eyes, a world far more vivid and alive than the dull version he'd been existing in.

It was ridiculous that he wanted to smell the books, run his hand over the covers.

It had been fun kissing her. In a terrifying, life altering way.

She wanted him, more than she'd ever wanted to try with anyone else.

He was too different from her, but also somehow her perfect complement. Frighteningly perfect.

Over Work is the 4th book in The Wellness Center series. We learn about Cameron and his stress. Cameron is in grad school, working hard to finish his final project so that he can officially begin his job as a counselor with Ben and Vanessa at The Wellness Center. Cameron is working so hard that he's lost sight of everything else, including his own self-care. One night he is staying late at the office and finds himself asleep at another counselor's desk.

Sasha, tattooed and not what Cameron typically goes for in a partner is standing across the desk from him waking him up. She thinks that he is the counselor she is mandated to see and quickly learned that he's not. Cameron is so worried about getting caught sleeping there that he begs her not to say anything.

Their relationship progresses that embarrassing moment. As the two spend more time together, they start to realize they may have feelings for one another. However, Cameron has not had a serious relationship for years and Sasha to just use for what she needs and then lets them go. But there is something truly special between the two of them.

Their days together are filled with fun and stress and some...making out. But when things take a turn, neither of them really knows how to handle it. It is sort of a long way to their HEA, but hang in there because they get it.

Story: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

“Over Work” by S.M. Levine is a tender, emotionally charged romance that explores burnout, anger, and the quiet power of connection. Sasha, with a volatile streak, and Cameron, a sleep-deprived admin assistant teetering on the edge of collapse. Their paths cross through court-mandated therapy, and what begins as a reluctant alliance slowly deepens into something more intimate.

The portrayal of emotional exhaustion is strikingly real. Cameron’s burnout isn’t romanticized—it’s messy, painful, and deeply relatable. Sasha, meanwhile, is all sharp edges and fierce loyalty, her anger masking deeper wounds. Their dynamic is built on tension and trust, with moments of humor and vulnerability that feel earned rather than forced.

The writing is witty and warm, with dialogue that crackles and introspection that hits hard. It’s a story about showing up—imperfectly, honestly—and finding love in the middle of the mess.

I was kindly provided with this book (censorship is BS and I hate it but here we are!)

Tropes include; opposites attract, black cat X golden retriever, nerd X jock, friends to lovers, “workplace” romance kind of, therapy talk.
Smut was 2.5/5 on the spice scale and its a HEA in a series of interconnected standalones.

Cameron is our MMC, dealing with MAJOR burnout, struggling to cope with everything. Life is spiralling for him and he can’t make it stop.. until one woman throws a wrench in the works and shows him all he missed. He was so sweet, so naive but man I really loved that about him!

Sasha is our FMC, she’s got anger issues and she’s hostile to everyone. Life dealt her shit and I felt the shit hand she’d been given but to see her work through it and come out the other side was amazing.

Such a beautifully written book. S.M. Levine has a way of perfectly capturing the voices of the characters, especially their ages.

Despite being the 4th book in the series, nothing is repetitive. Every couple thus far has had their own unique challenges, voices and dialogue. Which is hard to find an author able to write so many books in a series and not end up copying the earlier books.

Cameron is just such a sweetheart. He really just gives his all to everything he loves, so it was amazing to see him find someone who can do the same for him.

Can't wait to see what Levine does next!!!

A fun but touching romance featuring characters that might be a little too relatable haha. Nerdy Cameron and intense Sasha are the perfect complements to each other, and they balance each other out so well. This is a delightful read with an important underlying message. A great conclusion to the Well Space series, and definitely worth reading.

S.M. Levine has a knack for writing perfectly imperfect people who find love, and her latest, "Over Work," is no exception. This final book in The Well Space Series introduces Cameron, a workaholic nearing burnout, and Sasha, who arrives at his office for court-mandated anger management therapy.
Levine’s skill lies in making you intensely care about these characters. The story moves beyond romance to focus on genuine growth and change. "Over Work" was my favorite in the series because Cameron’s journey deeply resonated with me—a much-needed reminder to stop working ourselves to death and start finding joy.
