When love burns brighter than fear...

Widow
Single-Mother

After losing my husband to the dangers of his first-responder career, I made myself a never again would I open my heart to someone who risked everything for strangers. Needing a fresh start, my daughter Rosa and I escaped to the coastal haven of Midnight Cove with my sister, determined to build a life away from the knowing looks.

But fate has other plans.

There we meet Gunnar, a devastatingly handsome firefighter with gentle hands and a protective streak a mile wide. He sees straight through the walls I've built around my heart and makes it his mission to show me that some risks are worth taking. With every stolen glance and tender touch, he's proving that the right man doesn't just heal your wounds, he sets your soul on fire.

I thought the best part of my life was behind me. Gunnar is about to show me it's just beginning.

Sometimes the greatest rescue isn't from flames—it's from a life half-lived.

Another great blue-collar story from Laramie Briscoe. This time around we have Gunner who's a firefighter anf loves his job, but lately he's feeling a bit lonely. But that all changes one afternoon when he meets Amy and her little girl. The spark is instant. But with her past, he knows he needs to move slow if he wants a future with her.

When Amy lets her walls down for the first time since her husband passed, she finds a love so powerful she doesn't want to turn her back on it. Together they start navigating life and soon they know what they have comes once in a lifetime.

This story was short, sweet and sexy in all the right places. and I can not wait to see how much of a fight his sister. will make before accepting love the second time around.

Oh my gosh, this is a cute and quick firefighter romance that had me swooning!! Gunnar is a firefighter and Amy is a single mom of Rosa. She gets injured and Gunnar finds them and helps them get to safety. Amy and Rosa, as a thank you to Gunnar brings cookies to his fire station. He gives them a tour and invite them to stay for dinner. Is he being too pushy and forward with the girls after everything they’ve been through? Can he break through Amy‘s walls?

This is book two in The Midnight Cove series and it is Gunnar and Amy’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Amy is a widow and single mom after her husband who was a police officer died so now Amy needed a fresh start so she decided to move to Midnight Cove which is where her sister Eve lived so that with Amy’s daughter Rosa they could now start a new life and Amy vowed never to get involved with a man that risked his life ever again so she put up her walls as high as she could and concentrated on her daughter Rosa but what she definitely wasn’t expecting was to meet Gunnar who eventually changed everything in her life. Gunnar is a firefighter who is caring, protective and would help anyone but what he wanted more than anything was a wife and family but he hadn’t met that person yet, while out running on the beach he heard a cry for help and being the type of person that he is he stepped forward and that is how he met Amy and Rosa not knowing that this meeting would change his life completely. Amy was so guarded but with Gunnar’s patience and understanding they started to talk and then spent time together which brought them all closer together and even though Amy and Gunnar are so perfect together and for each other and the attraction and chemistry starts to get even stronger but with the other situation that is surrounding them will they eventually have a chance of becoming a family and have a future together which is what they want after everything that had happened. I loved how Gunnar was with Rosa and showed her so much care and love and how he also managed to make Amy feel important and understood how she felt which is what was the most important thing in there relationship. This is one of the most beautiful second chance romance that I have read in a long time and I read it in one sitting because the story pulled you in and kept my attention throughout as it was so addictive. I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

Gunnar and Amy’s story is charming and sweet with a bit of spice and angst. They meet when Amy’s daughter Rosa is injured in a fall and Gunnar, a firefighter, steps up to help. They meet again at the fire station, when Rosa and Amy bring cookies as a way to say thank you for the help, and Gunnar shows them around. He is drawn to both mother and daughter and hopes to get to know them better. With his siblings and friends all paired up and having kids of their own, he has hoped that the universe or Fate would bring someone into his life with whom he could build a future and hopefully an family of his own . He thinks that Amy, who is a widow, is that someone and little Rosa is a wonderful bonus.

Amy is very attracted to the charming, kind and handsome Gunnar, but is just a bit wary of starting a relationship with him. Her late husband was also a first responder, and the thought of dating someone who has so much stress and danger in their job on a daily basis scares her. She finds herself unable to shut Gunnar out of her life, even if it just going to be friendship between them. Yet, the feelings she has for Gunnar quickly become much deeper than friendship and he makes it clear that he feels the same. His easy rapport with little Rosa is all she could have asked for in any man coming into their lives. Can love conquer her fears and doubts about their future?

These wonderful characters touched my heart and made it impossible to not want a very happily ever after for them. This tender romance has my full recommendation.

I loved this short, small town romance. Amy’s story broke my heart right from the start. A widow and single mom, she’s determined to protect her and her little girl from any more heartbreak. Moving in with her twin sister gave them a chance to rebuild, but Amy’s walls are high. Gunnar is a firefighter whose steady, caring nature and deep desire for a family completely change the course of Amy and Rosa’s lives.

Their first meeting, Gunnar rushes to help when Rosa is hurt, and from that moment, there’s an unshakable pull between all three of them. Gunnar has patient, quiet strength as he slowly earns Amy’s trust while showing genuine love and care for Rosa. The chemistry between Amy and Gunnar simmers beneath every interaction, and watching Amy’s guarded heart begin to open is nothing short of beautiful.

This is a story of healing, trust, and second chances for the main characters, but Rosa steals the show. Her presence adds so much warmth. She’s the glue that makes this family feel real.

With just the right balance of sweetness, angst, and a hint of spice, this book pulls you in and won’t let go. It’s heartfelt, hopeful, and the kind of romance that makes you believe in fate. I devoured this story in one sitting!

This is the second book in this impressive series, and this is Amy and Gunner’s story.
Amy is a window and single mom to Rosa, and she moves with her sister to Midnight Cove for a fresh story, and Gunner is a protective and charming firefighter. After losing her husband who was a first responder, Amy has built walls around her heart. Gunner is running on the beach when he comes across Amy and Rosa, and he comes to their rescue. Gunner sees through the walls Amy has, and he is determined to convince her to give them a chance.
This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, loss, grief, determination, heartbreak, taking chances, humour, witty banter, healing, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, sweet, touching, and heartwarming, addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This was an enjoyable and emotional read. I loved that Gunnar recognized that Amy and Rosa needed to heal and let Amy set the pace.

Amy demonstrated the strength of someone who has overcome tremendous challenges. As a widow and a single Mom, she has learned to rely on few people. Gunnar reaches her by recognizing he will not replace her late husband as Rosa’s Dad but can support them differently.

These characters are well developed and multi dimensional. The world building is so vivid, the fire felt real. Most of all, this story conveyed the camaraderie and support of a firehouse family.

I hope there will be more stories about the other members of the team.

Save me (The Midnight Cove Series Book 2) is small-town quick read about trusting the timing of events in your life and having the patience to believe everything happens for a reason.

Widowed single mom Amy is finally settling into a new normal after the death of her first responder husband. A chance meeting puts them in each other’s orbit. Amy has walls around her heart and her Daughter’s. She’s a widow and struggling. Determined to make it on her own. Gunner wants more in his life than firefighting and living alone but doesn’t know how.

One day, Amy yells for help along the cove when her daughter, Rosa is injured. Firefighter Gunner, runs to help. It’s what he does. He takes care of them both and waits as the EMTs arrive. He’s struck by her bravery and beauty but doesn’t get her name.

When Amy and Rosa bring cookies as a thank you, Gunner gives Rosa a tour, and asks them to stay for dinner. He worries that he’s too pushy but he can’t deny his feelings. Can her tear down Amy’s walls and be what she and Rosa need?

Gunnar is a firefighter, wanting to find the one woman in his life. Amy is a widow and single mom protecting her heart and her daughter. He husband was a first responder and she definitely wants to stay away from that type of dangerous career.

Gunnar and Amy meet when her baby girl, Rosa has an accident. Gunnar is immediately attracted but fails to get her name. They encounter each other again when Amy and Rosa stop by the firehouse with treats. Can Gunnar break through Amy's walls?

I loved watching Gunnar and Amy grow their relationship and I really loved how Gunnar was with Rosa. Rosa definitely stole the show.

This is book 2 in the Midnight Cover series and the firefighters in town. Gunnar saves Amy and Rosa and can’t get them out of his mind. Amy’s past made her swear to never date someone risking their life to save others again. The pull and connection is strong can she get past her fears for their future.

Gunnar and Amy’s story is a short feel good HEA. These stories are wonderful to just sit down for an evening relax and enjoy their story through the pages. Sometimes the Sweet less complex story is just what you need. This series continues to be amazing. Can’t wait for Mark.

This was a charming little book, and I loved the characters in it. I know, I know is instalove between the main protagonists, and the story is rushed a little bit, but I’ve found myself swooned by little things, gestures, moments, and – although I’ve known nothing can go really wrong and nobody will get really hurt in it - I got invested in the rush of the final chapters. Apart from the rushed story, the characters were lifelike, the children sweet, and there were some genuinely touching moments.
If you want to read a sweet romance, to escape from reality, this book it’s for you.

The universe brought Gunner and Amy together. Gunner feels the loneliness with all his friends coupling up. Amy is a single mother/widow just trying to make a life for herself and her daughter. Gunner falls in love with the duo quickly. It takes an accident for Amy to confront her feelings for Gunner. This is a story of opening your heart to receive your soulmate. I love how Gunner embraced a friendship with Rosa along with Amy. I am glad that Amy lowered her walls to allow herself to fall in love again. This was a fast read with the pages turning quickly.

Not wanting get her heart broken after the death of her husband, Amy moves with her sister and she meets firefighter Gunnar.

Gunnar was very much a protective guy but also had his issues though for the most part a positive guy. But meeting Amy he wants her and wants to show her he is worth the risk.

They are so good together. Very compatible and with a rare chemistry.

So well done. I enjoy this author's books very much. So well written and characters I really enjoyed. Fantastic book!.

This is the second book in the Midnight Cove series and it is just as amazing as the first book. This book is Amy and Gunnar's. Amy has closed off her heart for fear of getting hurt again. Gunnar is a firefighter and he jumps in to help when Amy's daughter, Rosa falls. There is a strong connection between these two. I absolutely loved their store from beginning to end. I would highly recommend you pick up not only this book but the first book in the series. You will not be disappointed. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Save Me is a beautiful novella with a sweet and heartfelt love story and the most adorable little girl. Gunner and Amy are magical together, and Amy’s daughter Rosa is so precious. I loved their story from start to finish—getting to know these characters and their histories, and watching them connect and burn up the pages, is absolutely engrossing. Author Laramie Briscoe is brilliant with her world building, alpha-protective cuddly guys, and resilient and brave leading ladies. Loved this one!

Gunner, Amy and Rosa are an amazing set of characters. Gunner the firefighter who feels like life isn't going his way. Feels a bit lonely. Amy the widow/single mother who is piecing her life back together. Her focus is Rosa, her 7 yr old daughter, cute and curious little girl.
The way Gunner and Amy felt the spark and were open to pursuing a relationship, which really brought them happiness. Seeing their love blossom was a joy. The consideration they had for Rosa and her feelings, made me admire Amy, as a mom.

Gunner, Amy and Rosa are wonderful together and make a great little family.

Save Me was a cute, quick romance about fire fighter Gunnar and single mom, Amy. They meet when Amy’s young daughter, Rosa, injures herself and Gunnar finds them and gets her help. As a thank you, Amy and her daughter bring homemade cookies to the fire station Gunnar works at and this is the beginning of their happily ever after. This is book 2 in the series but can definitely be read on its own. I’ve had a terrible, sad week so reading a sweet romance was the perfect thing, I just wished this book was longer. I didn’t want it to end!

This was such a cute story. Gunner was waiting for this happy ever after, after seeing his family and friends finding theirs. Amy ran away from home after her husband past away, searching for a quiet life with her daughter. These two meet when she needs help with her daughter by chance. And that was all it took, one look one act of nice. These two were super cute together, both just wanted a happy family and life, and they found it with each other.

If I had one word to describe this book, it would be wholesome. Amy is trigger happy to get into another relationship (especially with a civil servant) after her 1st husband who was a police officer died. She’s not just protecting her heart, but her daughter Rosa as well. Gunner is a firefighter and he is so very patient and kind. New relationships can be scary but these two are figuring it out together
