You’re not about to play with a Virgo! That’s the sentence that sums up Mekole Ciara Henderson. Life sent her a tick, but it must have forgotten that she is the boom. Her bomb went off and destroyed the intended, but unfortunately, she couldn’t escape some of the shrapnel that resulted from it. If f*ck it up and leave was a person!
Will a relocation allow her virgoism to thrive, or will it clash with the Cancer man in the corner? The shrapnel in her heart is deep, but the Virgo in her is deeper. Will she be too much to handle or just enough for the man who, unbeknownst to him, is about to experience a whole lot of Virgo Type Sh*t?

We start this thing grieving right along with Mecole, but things quickly take a turn. Ole baby back whale came through in a clutch, spilling all the tea chile. Learning that Mecole was related to Fiona, told me all that I needed to know, so I was not surprised in the least with what she may do. Damn, Faheeta really? 👀😤🤬 That's alright though, cause Mecole just unleashed her crazy and took care of all that light weight. 🤷🏿♀️ Then the intricacies of keeping the story alive afterward, was wild! 🤯
Moving to South Carolina was needed for Mecole to reset. However, soon after getting there she is introduced to a fine ass man, who matches her crazy. TJ knew that Mecole would be a handful, but he was up for the challenge. These two were a mess! A hilarious mess at that! 🤣 I loved the friend community that they built, and how they all took care of each other. Enjoyed this! 👍🏿👍🏿
Mekole was funny. James and Faheeta did her wrong. Then for TorTela to know her daughter was doing her best friend wrong, she could of told her not to do what she did? T.j he loved hard. Meek needed T.j and vice versa
I love a gun toting hot headed woman and an aggressive man. It wasn’t as swooney as i would have liked but i think that’s what you call Virgo shit lol.
Everybody crazy lol. But if you’re related to Fiona, you crazy. If you work for the Christianson Enterprise, you crazy. Any book with Mega nem is a 5 star automatically. Whew Mecole got wrapped up with a Carolina man. They’ll get ya.
This girl is on fire 🔥! This was an entertaining read. Mel Dau opens this book on her good BS! Let's talk about these names cause really, lol!
Faheeta, TorTela and baby Pepper? Come on! Then how foul was this chick?
"The fact that you named me Pepper’s godmother, let me fall in love with her, and you knew she was my man’s daughter."
The FMC unhinged and girl power was refreshing and in full force: Fiona, Ruth and the crew. Giving Mekole a soft place to land after the betrayal she suffered at the hands of her ex- best and ex-boyfriend.
Now, Tumnus aka JT had me laughing out loud at his crazy and will have me looking at "Bet" differently 🤣 from now on.
“T.J., I told you that I would see you tomorrow.”
“Mekole, when you told me dat, it was before midnight. Babe, e afta three in da morning. It’s tomorrow.”
That man was going to do what he was going to do.
And.... I just caught the "BLP Signs of Love Book 1" .... so I am assuming this is the beginning of BLP Series zodiac themed series 🤞🏾
This book is an absolute gem! I went in with sky-high expectations for a tale brimming with humor, love, and family shenanigans, and let me tell you, it delivered! Mega and Ruth were the comedic duo we didn’t know we needed, while Mekole proved she’s a force to be reckoned with. Fiona’s lively spirit lit up every page, making even the dull moments sparkle. The chemistry between TJ and Mekole was electric, with TJ expertly respecting Mekole’s need for space while still being her rock. Mekole was the star of the show—her delightful chaos peaked when she turned to Mega for some divine intervention during her meltdown. And those names? Faheeta, TorTela, and baby Pepper? Absolute brilliance! Watching Mekole tackle her heartbreak with the fierce support of her friends Fiona and Ruth was nothing short of empowering. And let’s not forget Tumnus, aka JT, who had me rolling with laughter, especially with his hilarious take on time. I’m itching to dive deeper into each couple’s drama!
This was a great start to this series. The way I cackled for most of this book had me sometimes questioning my own sanity at the things I found funny. TJ was not about to play games with Mekole and claimed her as his pretty much from first sight. These two matched each others crazy and I was here for it. I also loved that some of my favorite characters made an appearance throughout the book as well. I knew as soon as Fiona came on the scene, it was going to be plenty of foolishness and shenanigans.
The characters names that Mel has been on lately have been keeping me laughing and this story was no exception. The way I laughed so hard at Taco Shell, her real name, and her Mama's name and nicknames, I'm surprised I didn't wake up my house last night.
This was a well written and fun story. Highly recommend!
I just loved, loved, loved this book. When I found out that Mekole was connected to one of the people in the friend group, I knew it was going to be a great book. Once TJ met Mekole, he didn't waste any time putting a claim on her. I loved how they took their time getting to know one another's quirks even after their quick coming together. They were definitely made for each other. I was so happy that Mekole was able to finally get her heart's desire in the end after the hardship she went through with her ex and so-called best friend. I was glad that the friend group were featured so heavily in the book because each of them brought something to TJ and Mekole's relationship. They had me cracking up laughing soooo many times. I truly missed them and hopefully, the author will keep bringing them back again and again. Great job as usual Mel Dau!!
Miss Arthur just has a way with making a well-rounded book full of passion full of action some twist here some turns there and a bunch Is crazy comedy s***.... There is never a dumb moment the way her brain works is f****** phenomenal.
This book gave me so much with the main characters and just knowing that the FMC is related to Fiona makes this even more funny. The way that Mekole and TJ gravitate towards one another makes the best unhinged couple, They are a favorite they are a favorite. I will never get over the nicknames that you gave her ex best friend... Taco shell had me dying literally in stitches. In the fact of the matter that all of the names resembled Food but spelled different had me cackling. Tj is my type of man tell me I'm yours without asking, I mean put his foot down and knew what he wanted.
Welcome back & déjà vu (to the recurring characters) for their bizarre banter & antics of the Christianson crew members & Christianson Enterprises family & friends‼️The moment Mekole extended salutations to cousin Fiona & her husband Croy, 🤦🏾♀️hello to a new krazyland venture & scooched in as requested not to miss anything 👀🤩‼️…If nothing else, “Virgo Type Sh*t (BLP Signs of Love - Book -1)” would guarantee maniacal entertainment, mad scientist hilarious, disturbing technical, rudimentary accuracy with tactical elimination professional services, vindictive retaliation & sadistical logic. These are Christensen affiliations, duh🤷🏾♀️🤭‼️Nevertheless, great job expanding, incorporating new & old characters into the Mel Dau universe of literary artistry. 👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽👏🏼. VTS was 🔥‼️
Question? Why in the entire hell is Mega so damn crazy? I damn near lost my life laughing at that fool. Mega is so out of control and Ruth is right there with him. To know what I'm speaking about, you must read the book.
As always, Melvin's Daughter doesn't disappoint. Her characters are so well-written. They are like people that you know.
T.J. and Mekole were perfect for each other. Low-key unhinged and crazy as hell. Their crazy turns them on with no apology. I love that for them. The chemistry was instant and burned brightly.
I enjoyed this book so much. Mel started the series off with a bang. Anytime the crew is together, you best believe a time will be had. 10 stars 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Mel!!!! You have outdone yourself once again! The loss that Mekole had to experience didn’t do nothing but make her even stronger! I still wanna see how she hung them folks up alone. She was beyond smart!!! No once can take that from her. Tumnus was HIM! He gave reassurance, assertiveness, understanding & was able to provide in ALL aspects. I love how he loved her through panic! Bringing Mega & Ruth back was truly God sent!!! Not only was he funny but he was the direct line to God in this situation. He & Ruth definitely interceded!!! The fact that you made her cousin with my fav Fiona makes this even better! Time for me to get back into my studies cause the facts she laid was 🤯
Love this book As a September Virgo.. We have similarities like August Virgo We are loyal love hard, the only difference with us September Virgos We really don’t think about what we do, We just do it well.with Accuracy.feel energy we are the problem solver think strategically, we don’t tell what we do. Our intelligence, we think 10 steps ahead September personality is a no nonsense / Little psychotic fun twist ,We have nonchalant don’t care personality when We dismiss we don’t think about it. We move forward August Virgos, they like to think about things after it’s all said and done ..Virgos. We are the truth will always prevail, we are unforgettable of the zodiac.
Mel did her thing on this book. I was engaged all the way through. She even mentioned Quasim III. Mel knows she loves Jahquel J books. I am happy how Mekole was able to learn to love again. She went through hurt from the closest people to her. Mekole is crazy like the rest of the family, but she found her circle of people. T.J. was the perfect person to help her heal and show her how it really feels to be loved. It takes a strong person to be there for you and show you that he/she is there for you. I look forward to reading more about them in other books. Mel, your pen game is amazing.
The BLP ladies have announced a new series and of course Mel Dau had to start it off with my favorite family as the introduction is to more family members.
Mekole was dealt a crazy hand and she definitely showed how crazy she was and I was not surprised when I found out who her cousin was. And I enjoyed every second of her crazy!!
Then they introduced her to TJ and it was definitely love at first sight for him even though he tried to play it off. Bets were made by the fellas and the rest was history. Mekole and TJ’s love story was some Virgo Types e Sh*t!!!
If this series is not on your TBR it definitely needs to be!!!
This was a quick and hilarious read. Mecole went through the worst kinda pain right out the gate - then it was followed up by a TWO time triflin betrayal. But when I say my girl got her lick back... Chiiiile. Yes! Then entered TJ and it wasbup from there- all gas, no breaks. I loved how he played no games with or about her. I am still not and will never be a fan of the Geechie dialect that Mel includes in her stories, but I pushed through to the end. It was cool how the cast of the past rallied around and welcomed these two into the fold- and what a crazy and entertaining fold it was that ended with a sweet HEA.
Mekole was a walking reminder that you don’t play with a Virgo unless you’re ready to get burned. Her sharp edges, her chaos, and her refusal to shrink made her unforgettable.
When she crossed paths with the Cancer man, it wasn’t love at first sight, it was sparks, clashes, and fire from the very beginning. They were the perfect match made out of hell, and I loved every messy, magnetic second of it. Their dynamic kept me glued to the page because it wasn’t about perfection, it was about finding someone who could truly hold their own.
Mekole showed me that being “too much” is really just being exactly enough. Virgo type sh*t, all the way.
Mekole learned of the betrayal of her bestfriend and boyfriend while dealing with her loss. As with the othe characyers in this series, she reacts in an unhealthy manner.
TJ had a business and meets Mekole when she relocates to his area. On their first meeting he makes it known that he is interested.
TJ seems to be making all the decisions about their relationship movement. Mekole makes it known when he is over stepping and he reaponds with "Bet". He is friends with Mega, so that should yell you something if you are reading this book in sequence...lol
Whenever I need a good laugh and to get out of a reading slump Mel Dau is my go to author. The way I hollered because why Taco Shell just why. You can’t trust your friends or your man. TJ and Mekole were both for all the foolishness. Mekole tried to act like she wasn’t about that life but TJ knew better. I’m glad I got a quick catch up with Mega Nem because everybody showed up. This was a quick, refreshing pick me up read that I throughly enjoyed.
Tum and Meek got me out my slum. I am a huge Insta love type of reader so I ate this up. Once I get my sister thru her nursing program I'm on my way to the south cuz baby Mel southern men are my TYPE😁. It's always a pleasure to see the group. It appears I need to brush up on some of my oldies but goodies because I dnt remember Draco of the top my head. Anyway Tum came thru and loved his Meek right on down and I loved it. I really hope to get some more of them with more kids.
AMAZING!!!…I expected nothing less than a book with jokes, love and family!!!… Mega and Ruth came with all the shattzz and giggles!!!… I love how the circle showed up and showed out for Mekole!!!…Mekole was not to be played with and she let that be known!!!…Fiona still has that booming personality!!!… This book was good from the beginning to the end!!!… TJ and Mekole personalities was a beautiful fit and I love how he gave her that personal space while being on the same space!!!…
Well this escalated quickly...Mekole wasn’t playing a single game with James and Taco Shell! I love that the whole family was with the foolishness too. TJ is just as much of a nutcase as Meek too, they were a match made in crazy heaven. It was nice to see my Man War make an appearance again too. TJ is similar to War in the games they play but TJ focuses more on finding loopholes for his foolishness. When he says “Bet” Meek knows he is about to be on some good BS. This was a nice easy read that I added as a Virgo girly myself. Happy Birthday to all the Virgos!
Faheeta and James thought they pulled a fast one on Mekole when they were secretly fooling around behind her back but karma was sweet when she got to ultimate revenge. She lost her son, moved to Charleston, SC. She meets TJ almost as soon as she gets there and from there, they begin their relationship. He basically tells her from the first time out with family and friends they go together. Both of them were serious about the other and both crazy as ever. In the end they got their HEA! This was a great read!
I liked this book for the most part, but I’m good on a man like TJ though. I can’t deal with the aggressive/possessive shit. But I did like that he found compromises.
The following are all the thoughts I had while reading this book so it may contains some spoilers:
Aww shit Fajita having James baby too ain’t she??? Hmmm let me keep reading.
Oh ok nvm lol
I knew it!!
Tattoo on his face you say??? Automatic denial! Have a nice day!✌🏾
Remind me to cross Charleston dudes off my list. I’m not with the aggressive shit. ✌🏾

This was accurate depiction of a Virgo, I know that author is a Virgo. But the way Mekole’s character was set up. Baby, her Virgo was on full display. I am a September Virgo and what she said about us was spot on. I loved how TJ didn’t allow her Virgo type shit to scare him off. I was so mad when it was revealed that her best friend and her ex boyfriend were messing around. And to insult to injury, had a baby. They deserved everything they got.
First of all her best friend was wrong asf playing in her face like that and the mama got some nerves! I’m from Charleston so I was reading everything just like us 😂. I knew TJ wasn’t wrapped too tight with the circle of friends he got! Hell Meek ain’t wrap too tight either! Match made in crazy and I love every second of it! Of course Mega still had me laughing 😂😂. Mel you did it again! Go read and if you’re a first timer please read her catalog!!
First let me say some of the names in this book made me this a Taco Bell commercial was on….now Ms Mekole is related to Fiona so you know her level of crazy is top tier & TJ is with the enterprise so they were a match made in heaven… now I say her bestie & boyfriend did her real dirty they deserved that plus more now I love how TJ told her how they were in a relationship & they never dated & both saying I’d you cheat u will FAFO… as always great read
Mel never disappoints with her storylines or her wordplay! I thoroughly enjoyed this read . Meek was everything and then some super classy but with no hesitation will air it out behind her respect and her man ! I adore the love they share and how quickly it blossoms even after what she just went through. Just proves that time means absolutely nothing when it’s divine , right and meant for you!I highly recommend reading anything by Mel ! 10s across the board
This book isn’t how this series should have started. The character names were atrocious. The author attempted to write the characters using a Charlestonian dialect. Huge fail! The use of the dialect literally took away from the story because it was hard to decipher what the words meant. I definitely have no interest in reading anything else from this author. I will continue the series though.
