Emir is definitely a killa so, don’t test him. Baylyn learned that the hard way when she saw something she wasn’t suppose to see. Now, she can’t get away from the sexy hitman who has her in his sights. Emir is poppin’ up at her favorite coffee shop, having lunch delivered to her job anonymously, following her on Skroll, and leaving roses on her car for her to find. And, you know what? Baylyn ain’t mad at. She knows she should probably be afraid of Emir but, he intrigues her more than her frightens her and that peaks her interest in the mysterious hitman. I really enjoyed Imperial. Baylyn and Emir’s chemistry was undeniable from the moment they locked eyes with each other in that alley. He was her shooter and she was his rider. I loved all of the cameos (on page and mentioned) and not just the characters from KC’s books but, also the characters from Charity’s books as well. We got to catch up with Carter, Cress Omari, Just Kincaid, Gideon and Rhian Powers, Ezekiel and Jhori Omari, Kaamal and Rey Greyson, and Krew Troy. Crescent Falls is just full of black excellence. 🤏🏾 Baylyn and Emir set the stage for the start of a really good series and I can’t wait to read more from the Corvidae brothers.

Now Baylyn, sis… I don’t know whether to give you the 👀 or a hug for going for yours! After your gut screamed danger, and then you saw what you saw, you still got googly eyes for this ninja? 🙄🤯 Girl…. I couldn’t do anything but giggle at you and keep reading.

Emir is the most laid-back assassin; I have ever come across! Now don’t get it twisted, he gets it done but then goes on with his business like nothing happened. When he sees Baylin, and she doesn’t run for the hills, he is immediately smitten with her. However, he needs to know she won’t snitch, so let the games begin. This man is every damn where! Bay, you didn’t think it was odd that he knew where you were at all times? He loved teasing her with his popups, and her fake annoyance with it gave him more ammunition to keep going. 🤣

Although they were different as night and day, I liked them together. They had some great banter, and just fun! Looking forward to seeing what the other brothers bring.

2.5 this was just okay to me I found myself rushing to the end because I wanted it to be over. I really liked the cover but the contents was just very meh nothing about this storyline stood out or made it special. I feel like it doesn’t make sense for the MMC to be top notch killer man of the world but he had to be told 2047 times to take care of Trent, then the delay made no sense if Trent is running around hating become more erratic you telling me the crime org is really gonna be sad cus he gets killed like call the boss and tell him your plan and be done. I get we needed something to drag the plot along but it’s like this is insane if he’s as sloppy as we’re told he is then why would an org wanna keep him? Balyn was nothing special kinda dumb and it annoyed me. Y’all gotta make the FMCs make sense if you get with an assassin I’m sorry you gotta be on point too. Like you don’t gotta be a shooter or nothing but you start noticing some strange coincidences WHY TF YOU TALKING ABOUT “it’s probably nothing “ like oh brother we got a dummy here. Overall idk what’s been going on but I haven’t been enjoying this authors work like before. The stories have been a little dry and nothing about the characters stands out enough.

Imperial: The Corvidae Family

K. C. Mills, a shooter and he is sexy as hell....I'm here for it Ms. Girl.

I love Crescent Falls and all its peeps. Whenever Cannon makes an appearance, you know a good time is about to be had.

Emir is that guy. Sexy, intense, and a cold ass assassin. I love his persistence and how he never took his foot off the gas. Baylyn was perfect for him. She thought it was crazy how she was down behind him, but realized that his job was what he did, not who he was.

Great beginning to what I know is going to be a series. We need Kades and Yair's stories Ladybug.

I didn't like it. It started off with potential, and then I think it got too wordy. I feel like it could've been about half the length that it was.

A lot of the chapters were just filled with fluff. Or maybe they were building background for the second and third parts of the series I'm not sure. K.C is one of my favorite authors, but this one just wasn't for me. But I do look forward to the rest of her catalog

This book was just OK. It took me way too long to finish it because I just couldn't get into it the way I normally get into KC's Books. It seemed like a bunch of nothing was happening and then at the end it did. It was a weird vibe.

Things happened very quickly but KC did warn us at the start. I do think it was a bit long considering what the plot was but it was an enjoyable read nonetheless. I liked emir, he was crazy and stood on business

What do you do when you witness an assassin at work and he decides he wants you? You be with him. 😏

Emir and Balyn were such an interesting match; assassin meets event planner 🤔. Emir was that unhinged, protective, loving MMC we can’t help but swoon over. Balyn was sweet and easy to root for, but she felt a little too green for his world. 👀

Still, I really liked the story and can’t wait to see what’s next for Yair and Kades! 🙌🏽

This was a good read. I was excited about it until the beginning. It kept me interested but toward the end it got a little slow.

I read and listened to this story, and I have to say the experience felt very different depending on the format. The book itself is well-written, with layered characters, emotional depth, and a plot that keeps you invested. The relationships and tension were engaging, and I was curious to see where the story would go.

The audiobook, however, felt like a completely different experience. At times it seemed like the narrator was emphasizing or interpreting scenes in a way that didn’t fully match the author’s text, which made some moments feel inconsistent or confusing. It was almost as if the narration was reading what it wanted rather than what was actually written.

Despite this, the story itself is compelling and worth reading, but I’d recommend sticking to the text if you want the author’s intended tone and pacing.

Real love wins

I love Baylyn and Emir together. They just fit. They operate in different worlds work wise but it doesn't deter them from their attraction and connection to each other. When they finally allow themselves to just be, they knew that there was no one else for them. A verified hater tries to ruin Emir's life but he stay five steps ahead. I love the relationship with his brothers and parents. It is exactly what Baylyn needed in her life as well. It's a story of opposites attract but real love wins out.

Audiobook || 3.75 stars

I can always appreciate a low angst romance, so you won't get any complaints out of me. Once our couple met, they were locked in and weren't letting up on each other.

I just feel this story could have benefitted from being shorter since there wasn't much action on page.

Midnite and J.Y. Kora did a good job narrating and I enjoyed this during my commute and workday.

I can see these Corvidae brothers are going to be a force to reckon with. Emir was persistent in getting what he wanted in life. Baylyn knew in the beginning that he was the man who could not only protect her but love and level her up. I’m here for all the menacing acting that this series will be(hopefully)

Ms Mills happy new year and you have done it again! Another great book I couldn’t put down. Now this one threw me a little…loving a shooter? Interesting.
Emir was sexy though! And mysterious. There was no way Baylyn was not going to follow up on that!
