I’ve always been a fan of the unconventional. Arya and I love to share, and Devon is a temptation I can’t resist. I just want a little fun while we’re on tour, no strings, no complications. They say that Ohio is for lovers, but will Devon be down to let me experiment?
Devon
Everyone comes, but nobody stays. I’ve stopped hoping they will. So when Christian offers something casual, just for the tour, I should’ve known better than to say yes. Now I’m caught between wanting him, and hating myself for always wanting more.
Loving Ohio is an MMF 17K word novella previously part of the We Shall Rise charity anthology containing themes and situations not intended for readers under the age of 18, now with bonus content. This story features a curious MMC, spicy bets, and explosive action...both on and off the dirt bike. It's book 2.5 in the State of Us series and can be read as a standalone.
I mean, I have nothing bad to say about this novella, only that it’s so damn short. I desperately NEED more from these three, but if I’m being honest, I especially need more of Christian and Devon. I’m so glad it seems like this is just the beginning for them because I need a full novel about those two. I don’t want just a few mentions of them in Logan and Salem’s book. No, no, Bree Wiley, don’t you dare do that! I need a whole novel.
I like Arya, I really do, but I love the connection Christian and Devon are developing even more. Devon intrigues me so much, and in this novella, it’s clear that he cares and wants someone to love him. The way he felt used was heartbreaking, and Christian’s confusion was palpable. And my god, the spice in this was WOW. Basically, almost every quote I want to share is dirty, and I love it. The Pride show they did was beautiful, and as always, the friend group is as nosy and amazing as ever. I’m so excited to see what’s next for this series.
-----------------------
“Such a beautiful sight. But she's not who I want to serve. Eyes on Christian, I fall to my knees at his feet like the sinful little altar boy that I am and pray to the only deity I know. The only one who still listens.”
“The taste of her lipstick has faded, but the salt remains, Devon's cum still layering her tongue. As I set her onto our lumpy mattress and drop between her legs, I savor the taste of him before it's gone, still pissed off that he just left me. Us. Left us.”
“I like the way my cum looks on that pretty face, pastelito.” I blink, my stomach flipping uncharacteristically at the praise.“Pastelito?” His grin turns wolfish.“My little cake, covered in my frosting.”
“I can still taste her strawberry lip gloss on my tongue. Wish I could taste it on his dick.”
“You close, hot shot?”he murmurs.“Gonna come all over my cock and your girl’s mouth?” “Oh, my god,”I bite out, clenching my teeth when his piercing drags over the side of my shaft. I throw my head back and erupt like the Fourth of July. “There we go,”Dev groans thickly.“Feed her your cum. She’s going to swallow like a good girl.”
“Between Arya sucking my face, Christian's general vibe, and Taylor's attitude, I'm in a constant state of blue balls.”
“Jesus, is everyone in this friend group always so fucking nosy?”I bite out, and all three of them answer ‘yes’ in unison.”
“Taylor's standing to my left, fists clenched while Huck has a protective hand on his arm. Salem stands next to them, looking murderous. Arya is on the right, already twisting her hair into a bun like she's preparing to kick some ass in her heels, and I've never been more proud of my friends. My family.”
It was ok. I don’t know what the point of the novella was. And I hated that it just ended unfinished. The next book is Salem and Logan’s book. So not sure if this is it for these 3 or if their story is a part of Salem and Logan’s.
muy caliente 🌶️🔥 My only beef and the reason I gave it three stars is bc I’m soooooo upset I have to wait for the rest of their story. Like wait for months and also a whole other book before we can get to Dev and Christian.
What a ride. Devon just wants to be with someone that loves and appreciates him. He feels like just an experiment for Christian and Arya. He and Christian have a connection, can it be more?
I first read this short story as part of an anthology but this novella has an additional chapter and OMFG I need Devon's full book! 😭 While he may be an a**hole, there's definitely more than meets the eye when it comes to him and I can't wait to see more of him and Christian.
This is your vibe if you like MMF Moto x Found family
Well now I’m even more hooked on needing Devs story. This was like an entree that you didn’t want to end! I’m so looking forward to when we get the rest of his story!
What a roller coaster of emotions this story brings! Just a taste of what's to come later, it's the perfect mini story. I can't wait to see more of these characters in 2026!
Devon! This guy definitely deserves an HEA. After getting a few chapters of him, I definitely need more. I hope Christian pulls his head out of his ass soon. Overall, I loved it. Haven't read a bad one yet from Bree 💚💚
Bree Wiley really knows how to mess with my emotions 😅 Loving Ohio might be a novella, but wow, it packed a punch. Christian, Arya and Devon completely pulled me in—I loved how Christian’s “queeriosity” was explored, and we finally got a deeper look at Dev’s struggles with identity and isolation. My heart just broke for him.
I swear, no one writes characters like Bree. I felt instantly connected to these three… which made the ending hurt even more. Bree, seriously, WHAT was that ending?! 😭 This book was like 500 pages too short, I could’ve lived in their world so much longer.
Fun story: I had to message Bree to get a visual on Dev, my mind just could not imagine him hot! I just kept picturing Tiger King 😅
Delaware…life affirming!!! All the ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️s will forever have a special place for the great state of Delaware. It had alllll the love a human can stand with amazing storytelling and plenty angst to keep our full attention along the way.
Arizona….noooooo bueno!!!! Nothing else needs to be said about that.
And then here comes Ohio sneaking into my recommendations list seemingly out of nowhere AND I’m soooo grateful for it.
Yes, 75 pages was waaaay too short for the story I didn’t even know I was dying to read. But it was long enough to remind me that Bree is STILL that gurl!!!! I may not be exactly excited to read a whole book about Salem…not a fan of hers to say the least…BUT if it includes even a teeny tiny bit more detail about Dev, Christian and Arya, I am definitely willing to suffer the good fight for more of THEIR story. You have my full attention Ms Wiley!!!
Why does everybody treat him like that? Genuinely, everybody is just using him as a plot device.
I don't know if maybe it's subtle slut-shaming from the group (which would be weird considering most of them are equal to Devon) or what. Honestly, I really, really* hope he will get a good ending, because I can't see the dude get pushed around anymore.
Arya and Christian are... fine. The willing cuck dynamic is interesting, and the sex is hot. But I feel zero chemistry between Devon and Arya. Not sure if that is meant to be the way it feels, but Christian and he alone seem to have that chemistry around them. While Arya feels like a prop (which is honestly kind of sad; her character could be so good after her talk with Tay in the first book.)
I liked the character snippets we got from Arya at the end, where she hates the way Christian is choosing for her. Reminded me of the 1st book, Arya.
I liked Devon's internal monologue and external actions; they are relatable to anyone that has used their body to get love but never had anyone stick because you're that, just a body in their eyes. Even if you don't want to be. I wish, WISH, he would get his main book soon; he's my favorite character after Taylor so far.
It's also extremely short. Read in one hour, type of short. So really there's not much to sink your claws into. Did I enjoy myself? Yes. Would I read more? Yes. Do I want Devon to finally stop being used as a plot device to further other people's relationships and given some love? Absofuckinglutely. I hope there is a Christian x Devon full novella or something. And something for Arya too (honestly, I would love for her character to be done with these men and find her own way.)
* MF, MFM, MM * Forced Proximity * Queer Experience * Sharing is Caring * Jealousy * Hurt, no comfort
“Days ago, this shit turned me the fuck on, but now I just feel dirty. Dirty and used.”
So this is the short story for Devon, Christian and Arya.
Christian and Arya love sharing, but this time Christian starts to wonder what it might be like to explore with Devon… something he’s never done before.
I hate that this was a novella because I am in desperate need for a full in depth journey for these three! This novella was so good, but it was just that, a taste. And it was yum. So I want more.
When you go from monogamous to crossing that line into anything else it can get messy real quick, and this novella touched on feelings of jealousy, feelings of not being good enough and wondering if you’re doing it for the right reasons or if its because you don’t think you deserve more.
Devon plays an asshole really well, but he is just dying for anyone to care, and to just stay. He needs to know he won’t be throw away… Reading his chapters was quite devastating and hit home, so this story feels extra special to me I guess.
I think I’m genuinely going to pass away if we don’t get a story for Devon. I don’t know what I’m going to do with my life now. So BRB I’m crying.
✨Please Note: 1. Always check the trigger warnings and protect your mental health. 2. My thoughts are a direct reflection of me, my experience and what I like, and not on the book itself or the expression of the Author
Ugh this novella made me really really want a HEA for Devon. He’s so misunderstood 😢
Ok spoilers ahead!!
But this novella also confused me a little… there’s obvious chemistry between Devon and Christian but it sort of seemed like Arya was just a pawn amongst it all instead of an mmf relationship I thought they were ganna have. I kinda really want just Devon and Christian to get together, I think they’re perfect for each other! But that also makes me sad for Arya, I find she’s often overlooked. She seems like such a sweetheart with so much passion but people just always seem annoyed with her presence.
SO I personally predict that she will leave both Christian and Devon forcing the two into a close relationship where they realize their love for each other. Then she will find love elsewhere hopefully with a girly because I would love Bree Wiley to write a sapphic romance, I think she’d be really good at that!
So yeah although this novella was very short it left me with a lot of questions and speculations. I’m really hoping these guys get their own books because we can’t possibly get all the answers in Logan and Salems book.

“I can't help but wonder why I'm always the pitstop in everyone's lives on their way to something greater.“
Everything Bree writes is gold - and I’ll read every single word written in this series! I was so excited to be back in this world, even if just for a little. Note - if you haven’t read books 1 and 2, you need to do so before reading this!
This book took place while Christian and Taylor were on tour for their T.O.T show.
My heart really hurt for Dev - he felt so unwanted and like he didn’t matter to anyone - and I hated that. And Christian made me wanna scream - he needed to open his mouth and use his words! But I also understand him and his struggles to do that. And then there is Arya - who I definitely am excited to see her point of view when it comes to these boys.
I love Dev and Christian and I cannot WAIT to see what happens in their book! That cliffhanger?! 😩😩😩
What you’re getting: MMF Prelude novella Spicy bets Dirt bike tricks Threesomes Standing up to hate Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Christian and Devon! Oh and Arya.. But CHRISTIAN AND DEVON. We've been desperate for these two for a while now and thank you Bree for delivering!
This short story has me so fu*king pumped for their full length book! It's short and sweet but oh so spicy. Devon clearly has a lot of trauma to unpack, and the more we learn about him the more I can forgive the way he treated our baby Xed in CA.
Christian has been a constant favourite from FD and this glimpse into his queer awakening has me desperate for more.
The spice in this novelette is just delicious. The scenes with Arya are some of the best MFM I've ever read. While I'm definitely team Christian and Devon, I can appreciate Arya's talents and the part she's played in bringing our boys together.
This Definity feels like the beginning of something good for Devon and Christian and I am here for it!
Vibes: • MFM to MM • Queer awakening • Broken boy • Motocross • Found family
Breeeee I basically loved the scene where dev calls christian out in the motel!! That just got me head over heels dev! I need more dev, his life so hopefully after Salem (which I'm super excited about too) we can get his story!! And I'm so sorry but yeah there's no way a throuple can work with Arya, her character feels like just that, a character that isn't that interesting (sorry) I tried I just don't see it. Hopefully we get MM Dev and christian I actually thought about them before I even knew of this novella. But of course you are the writer. I didn't mind the cliff hanger because if they get a book we have a pre quel, like we know the why. Something tells me is a second chances thing too. Christian and Devin have a lot of self work to do before the fall in love. Especially Christian, he is unable to separate lust from love, which if you think about it Arya does deserve someone better.
I grabbed Loving Ohio as a quick read because, honestly, I’ve been missing this friend group and was excited to slip back into their world for a bit. But somewhere along the way, my enjoyment fizzled.
Christian has never been my favorite, but this book pushed me firmly into nope territory. The way he treats both Dev and Arya - like pieces on a board he can manipulate to get what he wants - left me more irritated than invested. Every interaction felt like another reminder that he’s playing a game only he benefits from, and I honestly hope he can recover in the books following.
There are still flashes of the charm and camaraderie I love in this series. But overall, this installment just didn’t land for me. I walked away feeling more “ugh” than anything else.
Hoping the next book brings back the heart I know this series can deliver.
CHRISTIAN AND DEVON!!! 🫠 I already know Devon’s story is going to kill me. I am such a huge sucker for the “bad”—but really just broken—guys. Getting to see glimpses of their soft, sensitive sides that just need love and care is absolute perfection, and this story was chock full of these moments. The raw vulnerability and emotion behind Devon’s thoughts (and actions) had me hooked immediately. And Christian opening up and exploring his sexuality? I am so here for it. I cannot wait for more of these two. Or three, if Arya sticks with them. Although, I honestly hope Arya finds someone better for her and just Christian and Devon end up together.
This little novella packs a HUGE punch. I cannot get enough.
MMF & MM 🌶️🥵 - THE SPICE!! Ooof.
This can be read alone, but I recommend reading Finding Delaware and Crossing Arizona first for the best reader experience.
Title: Loving Ohio Author: Bree Wiley Format: ebook Genre: Romance, MMF, Sports (motocross) Standalone: nope - ends on a cliffhanger Part of a Series: State of Us book 2.5 POV: Christian, Devon Steam Level: toasty 2/5
Ugh I was not expecting a cliffhanger so I bumped my rating a full star down. The front said that it was best to read in order to avoid spoilers but nothing about there being no end.
Aside from that this book was okay. I didn’t really connect with the characters and their self-loathing had me feeling the same. Nobody talked and then got mad when the other characters didn’t know what was going on.
Christian, the other half of the Twins of Terror is a pretty open guy when it comes to his sex life. He and his gf Arya like to spice things up. A newcomer to the circuit, Devon is on Christian’s radar. Christian wants to add him as a third and just fool around on the tour. Devon is up for it, but ends up wanting more with Christian and Christian wants to be in control of things between Devon and Arya.Devon gathers what’s left of his Alf worth and walks away. This novella is book 2.5 of The State of Us series with more to come. It ends on a cliffhanger.
Graphic sex, drug use, not meant for under age 18.

I been loving Christian since the first book, he's a cool guy but here he was an asshole.
I liked Devon so much, what an interesting and complex character.
Aria is also cool, but she felt like the third wheel.
Is amazing to me how in such a short book the author manages to include the dynamics of the friend group, a bit of every character, the pride show, dirt bikes, so many (and interesting) sex scenes and this story.
I was disappointed that they were just having a novella instead of a full book, so I hope that ending means we are going to get a full book.
