Maisy was just a pawn in a game she didn't know she was playing. She was sick of the rules – and the abuse. All Maisy wanted was to be happy and to be free. Archer could have left me to fend for myself, but his demons weren't loud enough to stop him from saving me. Suddenly Maisy found Archer becoming her peace, her very reason for breathing.
And it wasn't just because he saved her when he didn't want or know how to save himself from his own demons. It was because Archer managed to crawl his way out of the depths of hell to help save her. Archer has seen the depravity lurking in the shadows and somehow chose to do better – and to be better.
This is BOOK 2 in the Graveyard of Hearts Collection. You must read Grave Kisses first to understand this story.

Reader discretion is HIGHLY advised.
Grave Sins is the 2nd book in the Graveyard of Sins Series by Emily Klepp. It follows Grave Kisses and you HAVE TO have read Grave Kisses to understand the events that have happened before this book to understand this book.
Archer is still blaming himself and believes that he doesn't deserve redemption for what he did to Kendra. But, as we learn more about his history and background, we come to learn that it's not all sunshine and roses as we once might have thought. We got a small glimpse into what he had been subjected to in Grave Kisses, but we never really learned the full depravity he went through at his uncle's hands.
One night, as he's leaving late from the gym, he's walking back to the garage where he's parked his truck in and he hears a woman screaming for help. Knowing the kind of screaming he's hearing, he doesn't hesitate, he just acts and follows the screaming into an alley and finds 2 men abusing a woman whom he later learns is named Maisy. Archer manages to stop the attack, and with Maisy's permission, he picks her up, takes her to his truck, and after calling Kendra to meet him at his place, takes Maisy to his home to try and figure out how best to help her.
On their way to Archer's home, Maisy trauma dumps on him, and after Maisy's honesty, Archer ends up trauma dumping on her, including the truth that he brutally raped Kendra. And he is shocked when after his truth is revealed, Maisy still trusts him and doesn't want to leave him as she says that she feels safe with him.
After arriving back at Archer's home and speaking with Kendra and everyone else, it is decided that to keep Maisy safe, Archer is going to have to marry her. Maisy and Archer do have an instant connection and their chemistry is just sizzling off the page. Yes, they have bonded over their shared trauma, but this is also what helps both of them heal in the end.
I can truly say that I loved all the twists and turns that Emily wrote into this book. And there was the surprise letter that Kendra and Archer's dad wrote to Archer that revealed that Alan was still alive and revealed that he had a connection to Harrison and his trafficking business. (Alan was trying to put a stop to it.)
I loved this book and I loved getting the chance to learn more about Archer's background and everything that he actually went through that brought him to doing what he did to Kendra (not that it excuses it) and I love how Kendra was able to find her way to forgiving her in Grave Kisses. And then in this book Archer was able to find his own kind of redemption and he found his own happiness.
If you have read Grave Kisses then you need to read Grave Sins. I think by the end of this book you will come to actually like if not love Archer like I have come to. You need to add this book if not both these books to your TBR if you haven't read them. And just remember to check your trigger warnings on both books as your mental health always comes first.
