I came to Voran for a job, not a husband. I’m not opposed to a fun, light fling. But Voranian men love hard, propose fast, and don’t do “casual.” Knowing that, I try to resist the attraction I feel for my Voranian boss, even as I’m falling for his reserved nature, keen mind, and kind heart. A Ravil from the planet Tragul would be perfect for some no-strings fun, especially someone as charming and easygoing as Orin, whom I meet at a Family Day dance. Except that Orin and I quickly realize that we both want more. Now I’m tangled in the feelings for two irresistible aliens who, as it turns out, can’t stand each other. And my choosing one might break the other. This was supposed to be a career move… not an intense emotional disaster of an interplanetary love triangle. How do I choose between the two men I love without breaking all three of our hearts?

My Family Day didn’t gel for me. Ana, the human heroine, is divorced and steadfastly maintains she doesn’t want another relationship as she falls into insta-lust with not one but two aliens. Those aliens, Orin and Esvar, fall equally in insta-lust with her. But these folks all deceive one another, play tricks on each other, and in general run rings around each other to the point that I had a lot of trouble buying their HEA.
Ana’s problem is that she’s too accommodating, and she ends up leading on these guys when she really isn’t seeking anything permanent (until she suddenly does). Orin and Esvar play games of one-upsmanship that had me struggling with both (Orin more than Esvar, as in my eyes he starts everything with some destructive actions). Points to Simcoe for having heroes from two different planets, though.
To their credit, both Orin and Esvar prioritize Ana and her needs, but their backhanded way of getting there just didn’t work for me. So when that HEA arrived—yeah, it just didn’t succeed in my book.
I have loved so many books Simcoe has written, but this one was a misfire. Check out some of her other grand books instead.
I loved this well thought out, steamy and fun romance. All three of the main characters were fun to discover. Ana is compassionate, full of sunshine and in a pickle. She has feelings for two different males from different worlds. Orin and Esvra are polar opposites. Esvar being very serious and responsible , Orin fun loving wanting to put a smile on her face. It also hides his true feelings at times. Feelings he does not want to dig up again since the war. I loved Ana's honesty. Sometimes very brutal. I also loved the competition between Orin and Esvar. Lots of smiles and a few tears , but all's well that ends well and the HEA was well deserved and perfect. This is a standalone with excellent worldbuilding. POV of each.

My Family Day is an entertaining why choose romance between a human Ana Hilal and two alien males a Voranian Esvar who just happens to be her boss and Orin a Ravil who she meets while on the planet Tragul for business. This was a nicely written story with well crafted characters, and a human who ends up in love with them both, awkward and challenging since both males can’t stand each other. Enjoyed this engaging read though I usually don’t go for MFM stories yet the humor, passion, vulnerability, sweetness, and emotion kept me reading until a very satisfying HEA.

What I enjoyed most about the story was the diversity of characters. With two MMC, one older, one younger, you get the full range of emotions: jealousy, love, hope, fears and desires. But you see it from both perspectives. How a younger male perceives a challenge to his relationship versus how an older male handles the stress of the challenge. This is a lighthearted romance with a #why-choose trope.
I love this!! I know Ana wasn’t ready for a relationship, but seriously - how could she resist Esvar or Orin? Both are so appealing; handsome, admirable behavior (well, mostly), and a strong belief in what they want to achieve in life. Do read and enjoy this masterfully written book. I enjoyed every bit of it!
Wow! The FMC initially just wanted to enjoy her independence and stay single, but she ended up with two! It's super fun watching our MMCs compete for her attention and try to win her over whenever they can. I really enjoyed it!.

A charming Ravin and a grumpy older Voran constantly bickering and competitive from the first meeting, sizzling chemistry, entertaining writing and also dark undertones with the death of Orin's family, grief, loss, war. Wonderful worldbuilding, great side characters and a lovely epilogue. Recommended.
This was entertaining. I like how it's a bit of a clash of cultures but everyone is honest and open with how they are feeling and what they are willing or able to offer in a relationship. There was a lot of growing and learning and definitely some good action in and out of the bedroom.
