This series is crazy loco but I love it. Also, weird of me to say “crazy loco” it’s the same word in English and Spanish and I’ve never said it before.
Anyways, It’s a crazy series with crazy cliffhangers. But it’s complete so you can just keep reading. I had to take a break while reading this one because towards the end there were a lot of enemies/villains. Some more obvious than others but still too many and that’s not including the zombies!! I’ve realized I don’t like that. Give me one good villain. It makes it more realistic. Haha… in this post apocalyptic zombie romance. Listen don’t judge.
Knowing that book three isn’t set to drop until 2027 is so disappointing. This will probably be my last incomplete series. I like the sense of completion I get when I finish a good book and I just don’t get that with series anymore.
With all that being said, this was a good second installment. It is slower than the last book but that’s to be expected. The author is building up this new villain and a conflict. The romance part of it was a… different. Not bad, but I guess I didn’t get it. Overall still like the story and hope I’m still interested when the next book comes out.
😭 I am literally crying right now. I just found this author and this series! I’ve fallen down the dystopian rabbit hole and this series has been soooo good. I didn’t even check to see if the first was a standalone of if the series was even finished!! I jumped in with both feet and it has been getting me through this snowstorm, I have been abrupt and giving my family the side-eye these books have been soo good. Jackson is “chef’s kiss” all alpha, all, a$$hole, but he is also all about Asia. Being at the farm and the drama that has been transpiring had me on pins and needles….and doggone Asia but I was looking at her with a side eye when reading because I was straight on the Jack train…this book has action, gore, drama, and all 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶. I hope this author writes fast because I need som mo of this series!!!
I am enjoyed the journeybthis story has taken me on. I must say it's not as gruesome in as action filled as other stories that are similar. I like that they was able to find a place to rest into build. The sheriff is an issue, his son is an issue. Then to find out that people who you traveled with want take from you, steal from you and hurt you is another thing. I'm looking forward to the next story to see what Jack went through. I hope Evan is alive, and I hope that he's able to get back because we have not heard the last from the sheriff. That whole thing, what he did to the girl should have made the people revolt. I'm looking for the next book. I will say Jack is a special kind of man You're a bit scary, but the vultures could not wait for him to leave,I'm sure.
I tried, I really did. But I’m so not finishing this series, which is an utter disappointment because it’s sooooo hard to find an adult apocalyptic romance. And with a person of color as a main character! But this wasn’t even romance it was straight sex, the plot was nonexistent and our FMC had no backbone for someone who was a lawyer. Ms. Faye tried to get me to believe that our MMC cared about his younger brother, but his actions proved otherwise. Whelp another bites the dust.
I wrap this up in under 24 hours! It was really that captivating. But as much as I love a good smut romance. I will tell you, there was a ton of it. What really struck with me was seeing into each character’s eyes and feeling their raw emotions—both the good and the bad. I couldn’t judge how they were dealing with things. That last chapter really hit me hard with a surprise. I won’t spoil anything, but I’m really looking forward to the third and final part!
On everything......I hope we really don't have to wait a year for the final book 🥺 I'm not usually into post-apocalyptic reads, but this is one of the best series I've read! Jack and Asia, from the elevator to him walking away...chemistry off the charts! Here's hoping to them reuniting in the most epic fashion. Oh, and Bridget is a garden tool
Interesting continuation of the series! We get a more in depth view of the sheriff and his “town”, i just know there will bemore trouble on that front. The book definitely ends in a way i didnt expect! Loved the twists and turns i didnt see coming! Will jack and asia reunite?! I have to know!!!
Not sure I liked this second book!! The sex was too rough for me in this installment. The story is ok.. the sheriff is stereotypical.. just really had to get through this book.
