Part of the Flamingo Realty Cozy mysteries! Sweet and fun, lots of friendships and humor. And of course a mystery filled with red herrings and clues!
Bernard Cloverfield has died and Stella O'Neil has been selected to auction off the mansion. With rumors of ghosts and a fortune in gold associated with the house, the auction is certain to attract attention. Initially, there are three main bidders. Rupert Hine is an antique dealer who hoped to find hidden treasures, Lila Traver was a developer who wanted to tear the mansion down and replace it with condos, and the third was Thomas Finch who is a local historian who wants to turn it into a museum. The bidding was progressing when a scream rang out that brought the auction to a halt. Searching for the source of the scream, Stella found Rupert Hines. He had been stabbed and was lying dead in the garden. This halted the auction, as the estate was now a crime scene. Stella automatically called Carlson to report the murder.
While searching the estate after the police release it, Stella and Georgie find themselves in the crosshairs of somebody shooting at them. Fortunately, nobody is shot, but that does not lessen the threat and fear. Another surprise arises with the arrival of Victor Cloverfield, Bernard's nephew.
Who killed Rupert? Why was he killed? Are the rumors of gold and treasure true? Who was shooting at Stella and Georgie? Can Stella wrap up the auction without any further issues? Can Stella, Carlson, and Georgie unravel the mystery?
CeeCCee James has another wonderful mystery with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged clear to the end. She has realistic characters and situations that the reader can relate to.
James has a way of drawing you in to her books from the very first page! Stella is trying to auction off a mansion after the owner died. Instead, a murder happens and once again it's up to Stella, Georgie, Carlson & Frank to take down the killer. I'm excited for the next book and love this series!
This Is one of the. best books have read with Shella starting a new client listing of a mansion where the man had died and he had no relative to leave it to so it was put it on auction. There were four main people wanting the house. That is where the trouble starts. You will have to read the book to see who ends up with the house.
Interesting twist to plot. Murders, co-conspirators, creepy house, hidden treasure—-all come together for a complex, but entertaining, story that intrigues.
So excited to have CeeCee James back with one of my favorite realtors. Exciting premise, auctioning off an old home that is rumored to have gold hidden within it. Let the bidding wars begin, as we sort out who is the murderer in this book.
Bidder Bump Off by CeeCee James is the 15th book in the Flamingo Realty Mystery Series. I enjoy these fun cozy mysteries and book 15 was just that. Stella is in charge of an auction for a house but when someone ends up murder she had to put the clues together to stop a killer. I liked that there were several people that could be the killer and I enjoyed the treasure hunt. Overall this was fun cozy mystery.
