Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith

Rate this book
A veteran with scars, a single dad with doubts, and a Christmas neither will forget.

Veteran Maggie Majors is in Pine Hill, Kentucky on a mission, not to get involved in the town’s over-the-top Christmas festivities. None-the-less, she’s judging their “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” contest. Twinkling lights, silver tinsel, and a borrowed princess costume aren’t going to fix the holes in her tortured-by-the-past heart, but Maggie will do anything to make the most of the second chance she’s been gifted. Even co-judge the games with a man who makes her insides jittery.

Firefighter Walker Bailey isn’t looking for romance, much less a fairytale happy-ever-after. He’d loved, lost, and been left a single dad. But spending time with Maggie has him adding her to the top of his Christmas wish list. If only he believed Santa could deliver the gift of love…

Can the spirit of Christmas bind their hearts, giving them a faith in love that can conquer their pasts?

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, given to me by Tule Publishing via BookFunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
“Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith”, by Janice Lynn, is a romance story between a wounded female veteran and a single dad, in a small-town setting that plays a major role in the narrative.
I liked that the wounded, tortured warrior, in this case, is the heroine, Maggie.
With her backstory and the recent negative events in her career she’s instinctively wary and guarded.
She’s more affected by psychological and emotional trauma than by the physical injuries caused by the crash, which have no meaningful impact shown throughout the story.
The emotional pain starts to fade and the healing begins while she’s in Pine Hill, Kentucky.
The hero, Walker, has his own trust issues, but he’s way more open and positive. I liked his persistence with Maggie and the tenderness with his little girl.
I liked the main characters and Walker’s daughter, of course, and some of the secondary characters, too.
I struggled to find chemistry between the leads and thought the story, with lots of telling, dragged a bit. Some scenes and dialogue involving the older ladies were a bit boring.

Maggie Majors in Pine Hill on a mission, she only wants one thing and that is to get her life back to normal. She did not envisage having to participate in a Halloween Party dressed as a Princess and for the man dressed as her Prince to make her feel things she doesn’t want to feel.
The towns people make her feel welcome, she makes friends with Sarah, her husband Brodie and their little daughter has Maggie, like everyone else, wrapped round her little finger.
Sarah includes Maggie in as many town’s activities as possible and even persuades her to be a judge in the towns Christmas Games event. The only draw back is that she will be judging alongside Walker, the Prince from the party. Walker is not looking for love, he just wants to have a stable home and environment for his daughter. The ore time he and Maggie spend time together their feelings grow. Will this Christmas season bring them more than they could ever hope for?
I loved this book. Great characters, the town sounds such a wonderful place to live and visit. Maggie drew me in immediately and I fell for Walker. Both of them have things in their pasts that make them wary of each other, but they are both willing to work together for the best of the community. The Butterflies are always so welcoming and caring. I loved seeing their competitive spirit coming out. Harmony House sounds a delightful place to stay. The Quilts of Valor are a wonderful addition to these stories that add another level of dimension.
Definitely a book to read this festive season.

She is a former military pilot sent to the small town to heal. He is a firefighter that moved to the small town to raise his daughter. She’s doesn’t plan on staying and is fighting to get her wings back so she can leave. He fights falling for her because he doesn’t want to be hurt again. Ends with a HEA.

Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith by Janice Lynn is an emotional story set at Christmas time in the town of Pine Hill, Kentucky. The main character is Maggie Majors who was dishonorably discharged from the military a year and a half earlier. She was a helicopter pilot and on her last mission, the helicopter crashed, killing the three on board with her. She was badly injured. When she heard what happened she was devastated and fell into a deep depression. To top it off, her fiance, also in the military, broke off the engagement to protect himself from her reputation. She got in touch with a former military officer who has his own security company. Once she was doing better, she was hired by his company to secretly keep an eye on the wife of one of his buddies from the service. There was a known threat to the wife, according to intelligence reports. Maggie moved into Sarah and Bodie’s Bed and Breakfast in a special room for former military. It is located in Pine Hill.

Maggie follows Sarah everywhere to keep her safe. She gets a job at a local farm in the cafe. Maggie reluctantly attends the Halloween party in costume and meets Walker Mathison, a firefighter who is a wangle dad that has a baby daughter. Walker is fairly new to the town but he and his sister have been welcomed and accepted. He has sworn off women and dating after his ex wife left him after the baby was born. Walker is attracted to Maggie. She lets him know that she is not looking for a man and continues to reject his attention.

The town is a huge Christmas place. Everyone decorates and the town has holiday events. Sarah creates a new event called the Grandma Contest. She plays matchmaker by making Maggie and Walker judges. They attend meetings together and are at the same family gatherings. Walter becomes more and more interested in Maggie. She continues to tell him she isn’t staying in town. Her plan is to work with her boss to investigate the crash as she doesn’t believe she was at fault. As the holidays approach, the two act as judges and Maggie realizes she is also falling for Walker.

This book is well written and has genuine characters that are likable. The people in the town are welcoming to newcomers like Walker and Maggie. They make a very good couple. Janice put a lot of heart into the story. It is quite heartwarming to read how her grandmother was in hospice and she wrote the story with input from her. The inclusion of the Quilts of Valor is very emotional as well. I only read one of the previous books but I felt very comfortable with this book. The author did a terrific job in providing enough background information so that a new reader to the series is not lost. I realized that the characters from the prior books are part of this story as well, allowing for continuity. This is a five star book I’m pleased to recommend.

I was fortunate to receive this ARC from Tule Publishing in exchange for my honest review.

Reviewed at Happily Ever After Romance

Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith is the fifth title in the Wrapped Up in Christmas series. I’ve read the earlier stories, although not all have been reviewed yet, and it was so easy to fall back into this world for Maggie and Walker’s hesitant romance. While the stories are connected, and many familiar faces from previous stories are often secondary characters, if this is your first visit, you’ll not feel the least bit lost, so dive in and enjoy.

Maggie is a wounded soul, in more than one way. She’s a former military helicopter pilot who was dishonorably discharged after a crash that killed several people on board. She has never believed the crash was her fault, but that does not negate the guilt she feels daily. Maggie has taken on another secret mission for the security firm she’s joined. A mission that will take her to Pine Hill, Kentucky, to watch over a woman who will quickly befriend Maggie… and perhaps prove to be a matchmaker as well.

Walker is a local firefighter, a single dad just trying to get through the days caring for his adorable baby after his ex left them both in her rearview mirror. He’s not interested in romance, or falling in love again… done that, has the broken heart to prove it. Yet, Maggie draws him in, and soon two souls who have been hurt deeply will find comfort and perhaps a future with each other.

I loved their first meeting at a Halloween party, Walker the Prince to Maggie’s Princess. This small town comes alive with Christmas magic as both Maggie and Walker are drawn into the activities by that matchmaker, pairing them up as judges for a chuckle-worthy contest. Slowly, their walls will begin to crumble as they acknowledge the attraction that cannot be denied.

I enjoyed everything about Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith by Janice Lynn. From the underlying suspense of Maggie’s mission, to the heartwarming Quilts of Valor, to the quirky residents… and a couple who were meant to be together, if they’re willing to take a few risks. It’s well-written, filled with all the emotions you could possibly hope for, and characters you’ll adore. Hard to ask for much more. Dive in and enjoy.

I really enjoy reading the books in this Wrapped In Christmas series. This is another great addition to the series. I am impressed with how Janice Lynn puts great emphasis on appreciating our military and other heroes. Pine Hill, Kentucky is a place of refuge for those who have lost their way and/or lost so much in their lives.

Maggie is a former military helicopter pilot who relives her tortured past on a daily basis as she still feels responsible for the loss of her fellow soldiers. Her heart is shattered, and she has no interest in romance. She is just passing through Pine Hill on her way back to the job she loved so much.

Walker is a firefighter who is widowed and has a young daughter. He is a hero in his own right. He has lived and lost so much, so he has no plans for romance.

Pine Hill is also the home to the Butterflies. The Butterflies are a group of older women who are quilters and also love to play matchmaker. They are actually quite good at matchmaking. They most assuredly have hearts of gold. I always enjoy reading about the Butterflies who have a true gift of love for others.

This warm and heartfelt romance is a joy to read with engaging characters, once you get past all of the hurdles, and a town who loves veterans and provides for them, as well as helping them in any way they can. Add in the fact that the story takes place at Christmas, and you have an outstanding, heart tugging romance that will fill your heart up to the brim.

Thank you to Booksprout and the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a very sweet series with a strong Christian element. That is particularly so in this story which sees Maggie Majors arrive in town on what she was told was a secret mission. Maggie is a military veteran and after a crash she lost everything that was important to her. Even before that, a tough childhood had meant she didn't really believe in Christmas or believe that she would be welcomed in church. Especially after her losses put her on a downward spiral.
Walker Bailey moved to Pine Hill for the sake of his infant daughter, after they were abandoned by his wife. He loves the strong community spirit and the special friends he's made that make him feel like family.
When they are dressed in borrowed matching costumes for Halloween Maggie and Walker have their first real contact but Maggie is determined she is leaving once her job is over. She wants her old life back, rejecting any possibility of a new one.
It's lovely to see the town embracing Maggie and helping her see the world through different eyes. Even if the whole Christmas thing in the town seems overly sweet and mushy.
Walker is wary too, but he can't help but be drawn to Maggie, despite her attempts to put him off.
There are a whole town of welcoming and interesting characters to help out our protagonists, including couples from previous books and the older lady group known as the Butterflies.
A lovely Christmas story with a satisfying conclusion.

Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith (Wrapped Up in Christmas #5) by Janice Lynn

A veteran with scars, a single dad with doubts, and a Christmas neither will forget.

Although I haven’t read the previous four books in the Wrapped Up in Christmas series, I was immediately drawn to this one by its lovely cover and heartfelt blurb. Janice Lynn delivers a beautifully written story set in the charming town of Pine Hill, Kentucky, where love, faith, and the spirit of Christmas intertwine.

Our hero, firefighter Walker Bailey, is a widower and devoted single dad who isn’t looking for love. Maggie Majors, a veteran carrying both visible and invisible scars, is hoping for a second chance at happiness. When their paths cross, the warmth of the holiday season and a touch of Christmas magic may just help them open their hearts again.

This story is touching, hopeful, and full of genuine emotion. Lynn’s writing makes Pine Hill come alive, and the characters feel like old friends. Even though it’s part of a series, this book stands perfectly well on its own.

A sweet, uplifting Christmas romance about healing, faith, and finding love when you least expect it. I highly recommend Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith to anyone who enjoys heartfelt holiday stories.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Beautiful, Healing Christmas Romance. Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith is everything I want in a holiday read—heartfelt, emotional, and filled with the kind of Christmas magic that stays with you long after the last page.

Maggie and Walker completely stole my heart. Maggie’s journey as a veteran healing from her past is written with such authenticity and strength, and Walker—sweet, steady, single-dad Walker—might just be one of the most lovable heroes I’ve ever read. Their chemistry is slow-building, tender, and so perfectly matched that I found myself rooting for them from the moment they met.

The small town of Pine Hill is charming and festive, and the hilarious “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” contest had me smiling more than once. But it’s the emotional depth of this story that really shines. Both characters carry real wounds, and watching them learn to trust, to hope, and finally to love again was incredibly rewarding.

If you love Christmas romances that balance sweetness with emotional weight—and leave you feeling cozy, hopeful, and full of holiday spirit—Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith is an absolute must-read. I adored it.

Wrapped up in Christmas Faith by Janice Lynn
This story starts out with Maggie and she's been in Pine Hill, KY just a few weeks. She's there to recuperate from her tragic helicopter crash overseas where she was the pilot. She loves the little town and keeps reminding everyone she won't be there for very long.
Walker is there to recuperate himself from the losses he has suffered. He's a hot jumper, firefighter for the town and they love all that he contributes to them.
They meet up with help from the Butterflies match making. She is dressed as a princess and he the prince and goes to ask for her foot to try the glass slipper on...
They meet several times and she even tends to his daughter as he works weird hours.
He wants to take things slow and gives up on her one day when she's left the area with her ex. She does return to finish judging the holiday shows and explains what she was doing and where she had gone. She's not sure he is the right one for her...
Like this story mostly to learn more about PTS and the quilts of valor and beds for vets program.

I enjoyed this book so much, and loved the Christmas spirit that surrounded the amazing characters and the entire town. Veteran Maggie Majors has come to Pine Hills , Kentucky on a mission, but finds that the town is full of Christmas spirit, like way over the top full of Christmas spirit . Not what she wanted. After her dishonorable discharge from the military and losing her flying license, she has lost all of her spirit. If only she could forgive herself and accept what her future will be, maybe she can learn to love again
Firefighter Walker Bailey knows his own kind of heartbreak. When his ex , walked out of his life and left him with their daughter, his number 1 priority is his sweet baby girl. But now, he is hopeful that just maybe, having Christmas faith can create a new dream. But he has to convince Maggie, that she is worth more than she thinks. I loved this town, all the characters and all their silly Christmas fun. Such a delightful story of learning to trust, love, and have faith!

Another wonderful story by Janice Lynn. This time the vet is a helicopter pilot who was the only survivor in z crash that took the lives of 3 of her friends. After treatment and digging her way back to sobriety, she's landed a job with a security firm and is on her first assignment. She still blames herself for the crash and getting dishonorably discharged didn't help her morale or self confidence.

She meets Walker , a single dad and firefighter in town and the sparks are instantaneous, but she's vowed never to love again after her fiance distanced himself after the crash. The story explored her transition towards acceptance after learning there may have been extenuating circumstances behind the crash.

The family she's staying with at their B & B offers a free suite to recuperating veterans in exchange for a or job at a local family farm. She begins to feel acclimated to and welcomed by the community. But still feels overwhelming guilt from the crash. The hostess at the B&B and her sister are sewers who participate in the Quilt of Valor Foundation.

Such a heartwarming story of friend, recovery, second chances and finding love when you least expect it.Thanks to beansprout for the free ARC. All ratings and the review are my honest opinions.

Maggie has come to Pine Hill to watch over a fellow vet's wife as his name seems to have been leaked to prove to her boss that she is reliable while he looks into the crash of her chopper. Walker moved to Pine Hill, with his baby girl and sister, after being persuaded by a fellow firefighter and enjoying living in the town. These two unlikely people are attracted to each other but Maggie has been hurt very badly in the past and is really shy about a relationship. This is a great book with well written characters and some interesting twists.

Janice Lynn’s fifth book in the Wrapped up in Christmas Series is a sure winner with me. Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith has unexpected love during the magical Christmas Season with a crazy “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” contest taking place. Two hearts that need some healing and a rediscover of the magic of love. Wonderful main characters, veteran Maggie Majors and firefighter, single dad, Walker Bailey deserve the chance at love, I was pulling for them to take the risk. Then entire series is one marvelous read with the quilts, main characters and supporting community. I highly recommend it including Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith.

Maggie is in Pine Hill to help her recovery from a horrendous helicopter crash, she was the pilot flying fellow military personnel when it crashed, she's now jobless and homeless. Walker is a firefighter who has recently moved to Pine Hill with his baby daughter and sister.
They meet at one of many events put on in the small town, he's Prince Charming and she's dressed as Cinderella! Looks like people are matchmaking! But Maggie has no intention of staying, she just wants her wings back even if Walker makes her insides flutter, how can he like the mess she is?

Sarah and Bodie's story was so amazing! I love stories with vets in them. Sarah was great but overwhelmed with all the work needed on her B&B. But this was her favorite time of the year!! Bodie is a wounded vet who is kinda lost. Trying to find an anchor, her sets off to find the maker of his quilt. What he finds is exactly what he needs, even though he doesnt know it!! Sarah mistakes him for her handyman and he doesnt correct her! I loved these two! There was a lot of healing that needed to take place and it was handled very well. I love books that feature real programs for wounded warriors. This one features Quilts of Valor. Love it!

Wrapped Up In Christmas Faith is the perfect Christmas read. Maggie and Walker are both not looking for love. Maggie wants to heal and get the life back she loves, Walker is not looking to be hurt again. The chemistry between these two is HOT! The more time they spend together the more they both begin to feel. We all know sometimes love finds us when we are not expecting it all. Great read from start to finish. Maggie didn't have a good childhood in the foster system and her world crashed when her ex left her after she was found at fault for her military chopper crashing. Single father Walker sees something in Maggie from when they were tricked into dressing as a matching prince and princess. But can he risk his heart and his toddler daughter Zoie's when Maggie doesn't plan on staying in Pine Hill? My heart hurt for Maggie and all she'd been through. The food and holiday activities in Pine Hill sound wonderful and the matchmaking butterflies are a riot. This was kisses only Christian romance.

Another beautiful story in the Wrapped up in Christmas series. Maggie is sent to Pine Hills on an assignment where she is staying at Bed for Vets. I loved Maggie's transformation while staying in the "crazy town" of Pine Hill with it's quirky characters and traditions. She even allows Walker and his daughter Zoie into her life. From their comical meeting at a Halloween party to the Thanksgiving madhouse to The Grandma Games (Walker and Maggie are judges and the events are hilarious) to all the magic of Christmas I enjoyed every moment of this story. I do wish it focused a little more on Maggie's assignment -some of the back stories clouded this part of the interesting narrative. If you love heartwarming Christmas romances I recommend wrapping yourself in your favorite blanket and immerse yourself in this story. Because you know with a little faith anything can happen at Christmas. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a great feel good book. Maggie is a veteran living in Pine Hill, KY and just looking to keep a low profile and stay out of the Christmas festivities. Holidays can always add an unexpected twist to any story. And you have two characters that have deep issues that they have to work past if they want to have a relationship. Both of them fight it but the attraction is still there. Makes for very interesting reading. Especially when there is a child involved. Like the setting in the background of the story. Good read.
