Every time Sevyn walks into a room, my heart betrays me; racing like it’s trying to warn me. Yet, I gravitate to him at the same time. There’s something about him, this mix of rugged edge and untamed danger, that makes it impossible to stay away. But I’ve been down this road before; swept up by the charm, only to be left picking up the pieces. The scars from my last dude still sting, and I swore I’d never let someone get close again. Especially an athlete. Yet, here I am, fighting a battle between my mind, screaming at me to run, and my heart, pulling me deeper into his orbit.
Sevyn Majors
Whenever I’m around shorty, I feel like I’ve finally found something real. My person. The one. But then settles the guilt, reminding me she’s too good for me. Too pure for the shit I come with. This trade was supposed to be a fresh start; a new city, new faces, a clean slate to outrun my demons. But no matter how fast I move, they’re always there. And then there’s her, standing in the middle of all my chaos like the calm I didn’t even know I needed. She feels like peace in a world that’s never given me any. With her, I see a life untouched by trauma, yet I can't shake the feeling that I’ll ruin her.

A passion that while initially was only a spark, ignited into a full-blown flame after her tenure at Lincoln University and St. Francis College, where she studied undergrad, with the intent on becoming a lawyer.
The inability to escape the gnawing desire to write led her to write and publish her first #1 Bestselling Series “Power Trip” Over twenty novels later, Treasure is still capturing the experiences and emotions that come with the complexities of black love in her stories. Now equipped with a master’s degree, she continues to pursue elevation in her career and beyond.
To her, writing serves a greater purpose than just being a career or outlet for creativity, instead it enables her to make a meaningful impact and create an unforgettable bond with her readers.
This is a new to me author who did not disappoint. I love a good sports romance and this one delivered. Now, I wish I had known it would end with a cliffhanger. But please believe I plan to circle back for the conclusion.
There were some plot holes, but now I’m wondering if that is because there’s a part 2. And further more I hope part 2 includes more of Idol making Houston eat those hateful words he spoke to her. I would love to see her glowing up and unintentionally, but intentionally getting her lick back. Because his raggedy a** tried it.
I’m loving them as a couple, really loved how Sevy was about her. Please please please let him drop his leaching behind family. Diane is another one, who needs to be eating their words in book 2.
Reserving my opinion on Idol’s parentals, as of now they’re getting the side eye. I don’t like how they’re moving. So more to come.
New author for me, and this was a solid intro. I love a sports romance, and this one delivered. Sevyn and Idol had me locked in, and I liked how he showed up for her. I just need him to drop that leeching family because enough is enough. Diane too. Whew.
I kept reading, waiting on the big third-act breakup moment, and was confused when it never came… then boom, turns out there’s a part two. That explained a lot. I wish I had known ahead of time, but I will be back because I need closure.
I need Idol glowing up and making Houston eat those hateful words. He tried her bad and I want the payback through success. A few plot gaps showed up, which I’m guessing will be handled in the next book. Idol’s parents are still getting a hard side eye until further notice.
Good start. I’m coming back to see how they land this.
Treasure, come to the front please! Aht aht... How you end this book like that?!? I need more! I loved how Sevyn and Idol's relationship came about and progressed. There is so much left unsaid here... I just need to know what happens next. Definitely have to see what other books are coming with.
I went into this story with no expectations and left feeling completely fulfilled (despite that ending lol). This book takes us on an emotional journey with Sevyn and Idol….two people from opposite sides of the track, yet both intimately familiar with disappointment, embarrassment, and heartbreak. Sevyn is deeply misunderstood and often taken advantage of by those who, truthfully, don’t have his best interests at heart. Sometimes, loyalty can blind you to toxicity, and Sevyn’s story is a powerful example of that. Childhood abandonment runs deep for him….he’s a grown man simply yearning to be seen, especially by someone other than his sister, Cherish. And then there’s Idol. Oh, Idol. She gave her all to her ex, Houston, only to be left with nothing but wasted time, heavy regrets, and a haunting past. When circumstances bring Sevyn and Idol into the same city…and unexpectedly close to one another….they form a bond that begins as friendship but slowly blossoms into something more. This story had me questioning the nerve of some people…the way they hurt others and still find ways to justify their toxic behavior is truly wild.
This story was such a gem! I loved watching Sevyn help Idol heal from her breakup while also working through his own struggles with family and friends from his hometown. I usually don’t pick up sports romances (I’m not really into sports-related books), but this one completely won me over.
What stood out the most was how drama-free it was. Instead of being full of chaos, this was a true love story that started with friendship and naturally grew into a healthy, loving, and peaceful relationship. Idol stepping into her power as a CEO and Sevyn navigating a trade to a new team and a new city gave the story depth and balance.
And let me just say—the ending had me gagged! I knew Idol carried some trauma around children and pregnancy, but I did not see that twist coming at all. It left me both shocked and excited for what’s next.
This book definitely made me want to dive into the rest of the series and check out the other couples’ stories. Such a beautiful, refreshing read!
Sevyn rescued Idol from reporters asking about Houston, him getting married to the mother of his child? The question blind sided her, made her question everything they been through. That's where Sevyn came in and asked the reporters asked the why would she be pressed when she has him? And it was on from there, they talked about any and everything. The getting to know you staged. Everybody in family are leeches especially their mammy. Thinking she has access to him because in her delusional mind she thinks that he owes her by doing the bare minimum for them. Her parents has high expectations of her, but they don't know all Idol wants to do is open a dance studio. See now Sevyn knows that he can't be there for everyone and doesn't get nothing in return. Cherish is the only person he owes and Idol if he forgives her. He felt that she should have told him about the son that she gave up.
This story gave me everything chemistry, tension, and two people fighting battles bigger than just love.Sevyn and Idol had me hooked from the first page. Idol’s guarded heart after past heartbreak felt so real, and watching her try to fight her feelings while Sevyn saw her as his peace made their connection unforgettable.
What I loved most is how this wasn’t just a sports romance. It was about two broken people finding healing in each other, showing that love isn’t always neat it’s messy, it’s scary, but it’s worth the risk.
Really ⁉️Hmmm, clearly time management, plot development & editing wasn’t a priority nor a consideration after already consuming seven hours convey Sevyn & Idol’s brief dating and relationship journey. Conversely, an exorbitant amount of time was devoted to all of the leeches in Sevyn’s orbit 🤦🏾♀️🥴‼️Nevertheless, ”Courtside Confidential: Sevyn & Idol” was good read, however this book was entirely too lengthy to end abruptly and with a cliffhanger🤷🏾♀️‼️It’s time for a new sheriff & effective management ‼️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️.75 This was so good! I really liked the pace of the story and the character development. There was some good swoony moments that was very romantic. Both characters have a lot of baggage they need to get through. I also enjoyed the image graphics throughout of the characters I thought it added a nice touch to the story for the reader.
Spoiler: The story leaves off on a secrets revealed cliffhanger
I was ready to come here and say all the good things about this book but THE ENDING 😭😭😭 the ending gagged me and now I’m speechless.
But seriously got me out of my reading slump… I was hooked on every page. I wish we got more of Idol dancing since that was said to be her passion and we really only got her at the hotel which is understandable but yeah… I loved this book and will be checking for more from this author!!
This is my first book from this author and I enjoyed it! Great storytelling. Great dialogue and chemistry between the characters. Drama but believable drama. Just an all around good story. It does end on a cliffhanger though so be warned. But I am looking forward to book 2!
& she’s done it again! i’m so happy that we got a new Treasure Malian releaseeee!! anywho, i love Sev & Idol!!! this book had me cheesingggg. and i don’t wanna give too much away but that ending??? ma’am!!!!

That ending. I have no words. This was a good story turned great. My flabbers are gasted. I am SHOOK. Idol seems like she has the perfect life but my girl going thru it. She’s scared of karma. And Sevyn is so sweet that everybody taking advantage of him.
This was my first read from this author and it definitely won’t be my last. The book ended in a way I wasn’t expecting! It’s not a make you mad cliffhanger. It’s more of a how is this even going to turn out cliffhanger. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series!
This book ends on a cliffhanger. Know that going in. Now with that being said, baby it's wonderful. Somebody call Treasure and tell her to "hurrup" with the next installment. Whew!!!!!!
