This is a wonderful book about all the Forest types of the world. Each section talks about the types of trees, climate, geography and some of the other animals and plants you would find in each specific forest community. Within each section they show you where in the world you can find the forest they are describing and interesting facts about them. From seeds that germinate while still on the mother plant to the 6 foot salamander and the fang-toothed deer that eats lichen, there is interesting information throughout this book!

The pictures are wonderful and the author did a fantastic job of pulling out gripping, exciting and unique information that really kept me reading. I learned about different relationships in the ecosystem of the forest and quite a lot of facts and interesting animal information I have never heard before. This was a fun read and made me want to learn more about each of these unique areas.

This would be a great classroom book, library book or great for a kid interested in ecology..
