When Nesta makes use of her daughter’s gift certificate for a five-star hotel in the heart of Chester, her week away is soon disrupted by a murder in the room next door. What follows is a brand new mystery involving film stars, Hollywood producers and a victim that seems to have upset the entire staff rota.
Get ready for more twists and turns, as well as the return of a certain teenager called Darren Price — another duck out of water in this city full of secrets. The Corpse In A Chester Hotel is the fourth instalment of the Nesta Griffiths Mysteries, where murder is just a little too close to home.
A short but sweet book. Managed to read the majority in one day. I really enjoyed the variety of characters and the friendship between Darren and Nesta despite the large age gap. I found it easy to follows the clues along of the murder however I still didn't guess who had done it by the end! It was interesting reading a book from a location I know very well and have lived in for ten years. It made it so much easier to visualise locations and scenery. Very tempted to pick up the first three books now and get to know more about Darren and Nesta with their podcast.
Really enjoyed this one. Good to see the series back on Track! I did miss Hari though - hopefully he will be back in the next installment which is set in Barmouth.
