A mai tai competition turns deadly at the Coconut Cove Paradise Resort. Murder in paradise has never been this entertaining! You will LOVE this tropical cozy mystery! Cosmopolitan Magazine calls Addison's books, "...easy, frothy fun!" Humor with a side of homicide.
A laugh out loud standalone cozy mystery by New York Times, USA TODAY, & Wall Street Journal bestseller Addison Moore. Includes RECIPE!
Welcome to the Coconut Palms Paradise Resort, where the mai tais are strong, the murder rate is surprisingly high, and apparently my love life requires a body count to kickstart things.
I thought I was applying for a barista job at a cozy inn in Maine. Turns out there was a typo—or the universe has a twisted sense of humor—because now I’m managing a falling-apart resort on Kauai’s North Shore where the pools look like science experiments and the electrical system was apparently installed by someone who learned wiring from a cereal box.
My name is Jinx Julep, and yes, the nickname fits. I’ve got auburn hair that defies humidity, a talent for stumbling into trouble, and a recently divorced status that led me to this slice of paradise held together by duct tape and optimism.
Everything is going surprisingly well until I find a body in the sand during our first Mai Tai competition. Now I’m conducting a murder investigation with my two senior citizen sidekicks, dodging the advances of a grumpy but devastatingly attractive detective, and trying to keep our ramshackle resort from collapsing into the ocean. Okay, fine, I’m not dodging a thing when it comes to Mr. Hot Stuff who happens to be packing heat. But who could blame me? The man looks like he was personally sculpted by Hawaiian legends and comes with his own handcuffs.
Did I mention the stray cats that run this place, the red dirt that gets into everything, and the roosters who think they’re the actual resort management?
Everyone is a suspect. And if I don’t figure out who’s killing our guests, the only thing deader than our victim will be my new career in paradise.

Coconut Confections series and the bees knees great . By Addison Moore ,isn’t she great? Her writing is first rate . Always immersing and never cursing thought sometimes it’s curses for a crook getting away, but usually the sleuths extraordinaire save the day. Which is more than fair. It’s sunny and funny and ever-so punny.
Jinx is running the show now if you didn’t know and finding a body is not shoddy when you solve the case . Mai Thais they sell them by the case it seems ,when the place isn’t coming apart at the seams. Is this paradise the place of dreams or nightmares? Well they certainly had a scare or three but with Jinx and cohorts the crooks are always getting thwarted so no reason to be downhearted.
Great story as ever and clever puns galore with awesomely compelling storytelling, who could ask for more? Encore and good show . Love Addison Moore’s writing I’d like you to know.
Jinx is now managing the resort she accidently found a job at, in another state across the country from where she thought she was applying. If you know Jinx, you know this happens a lot. The resort is hosting their first Mai Tai competition, and of course what could make the competition even more exciting than Jinx discovering a body! Jinx had noticed a lot of people had some tension with the victim. Can she discover who the murderer is before she finds herself in danger? This is Jinx, of course she is going to find herself in danger along the way, but don’t forget the laughter and shenanigans with her two besties from the resort, Ruby and Lani.
The handsome detective, Koa, has suggested Jinx stays out of the investigation. Did I mention he’s devastatingly handsome? Jinx refers to him as Mr. Hot Stuff. I have it on good authority; she most likely won’t listen to Koa’s warnings. Where’s the fun in that? If she had listened to Mr. Hot Stuff, her and the girls wouldn’t have had a blast making chocolate candies while trying to interview on the suspects. Well, some people would call it a blast being covered in chocolate after a “mishap” took place, I am not sure I would agree. Does chocolate ever really come out of hair?
Mai Tai Confessions will have you laughing out loud throughout the book while keeping you guessing as to who the suspect is. At the end of the book, you get a peek into the next story, and I can’t wait to read it! It sounds like a good one.

Another day in paradise for Jinx Julep unfortunately brings another murder mystery. The island’s stray cats lead Jinx to the celebrity judge for the Mai Tai competition, slightly skewered on the rocks. The victim had several tense confrontations with people at the competition, but who wanted her out of the picture for good? Time for the barista turned manager to put on her sleuthing hat again.
Come back to Kauai for another fun and frothy adventure with Jinx, Ruby, and Lani. There’s plenty of hijinks to laugh at as they scope out suspects at a chocolate factory and a beachy cowboy bar. The cats and the chickens add to chaos especially as the cats hitch rides around the island. Jinx gets romanced by Dective Koa and learns to trust snorkeling. As always, Ms. Moore’s descriptive writing brings the scene to life and you can practically feel the island breezes and smell the tasty treats as the pages fly by. A teaser for book 3 means more trouble is brewing for Jinx.

I really liked book one, then when I started this I thought I was reading the wrong book. It starts out almost exactly the same. And I get it there’s a group of cats who cause mischief which is you know cats, and some roosters every other paragraph doesn’t need to describe their behavior with multiple similes. If you make it past that the book is actually pretty fun. An aptly named Jinx and her two senior sidekicks who “investigate “ and yes the sarcastic air quotes apply lol. They cause almost as much mischief as the cats. There’s sweet moments with Koa and mean girl moments with Melanie who’s totally plotting revenge you just know it. A doozy of a reveal/ lead in for the next book was an omg ending. So what’s the takeaway. Lighthearted fun definitely. Some repetition from the first book also yes. Overall if you want a book that will make you laugh and doesn’t take itself too seriously this is for you. 3.5/5 stars.
Mai Tai Confessions is the second book in the Hawaii Cozy Mystery series. Justine “Jinx” Julep just recently learned her husband’s idea for wedding vows, till death do us part, actually meant till someone hotter slides into his DM’s. So after divorcing him she looked to relocate and thought she applied to the east coast but mistakenly applied and was hired during her interview, further west in Kauai. When she first arrived Jinx hoped things were better than they appear. The resort has seen better decades, check-ins were down and her room was a storage room off the parking garage. As the new manager of the resort Jinx has her first event to run. Everything seems to be going smoothly until she trips over a body. Being who she is she against better judgment starts investigating to solve this murder. Koa isn’t happy about her sleuthing and warns her away but it doesn’t stop her. Will she find the killer before she finds herself in trouble?
Funny does not even describe it. Only Jinx and ladies can season murder with laughter. Picture it, a Mai Tai cocktail competition with diva judges who do not like each other. The animosity between two of the judges goes beyond tension. Slaps, drinks tossed ends up with one judge splayed across the lava stone with a bakers knife in her chest and a skewer in her neck. Koa has warned Jinx to stay out of things, as if! Ruby and Lani egg Jinx to follow a suspect on a trip to make chocolate candies. All I will say is they never really got to talk to the suspect and that innocently a bump into a table that causes a chain reaction tsunami. Addison Moore has an endless bag of goodies to add to her books that make me laugh..a lot! Jinx will always live up to her name.
Book 2 of The Coconut Confessions, Hawaii Cozy Mysteries series. Can be read as a standalone but for maximum enjoyment read the books in series order.
'Check in for the mai tais, stay for the murder investigation. Welcome to Hanalei Bay, Kauai—where the beaches are beautiful and the secrets are deadly.'
The characters were very appealing and complex and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

This is the first book I've read in the new cozy mystery series, The Coconut Confessions. Set in a Hawaiian resort, it features Jinx Julep, who seems to be a trouble magnet.
With a humorous tone, this is a quick read that I finished in one sitting. The animals in this book really set this apart from other cozies!
When Jinx finds an unalived judge, she knows she has to figure out what happened if she wants to save the Mai Tai competition her resort is holding. If only she wouldn't keep getting distracted by Mr Hot Stuff, aka the detective on the case.
This story was an absolute mind vacation. I really enjoyed the ride!.

Jinx, aptly named, is managing the Coconut Palms Paradise Resort, a resort by name only since it's in disrepair. Plus, what fun it is when you are hosting a Mai Tai competition and find a dead body. That's just Jinx' luck. She along with her friends Ruby and Lani do some hilarious investigating (and candy making) to find the murderer. Detective Koa advises her to stay out of it but what can she do? Don't forget to mix in feral cats and chickens. I love this series. Never has murder been so funny! I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Jinx is back as the manager of the Coconut Palms Paradise Resort, and she is keeping busy in the middle of a Mai Tai competition and a murder investigation. Things take some crazy turns. As always, the author's writing takes the reader on a crazy, fun ride with hilarious animals, quirky characters, laugh out loud antics, and so much more. Mai Tai Confessions is book two of The Coconut Confessions: Hawaii Cozy Mysteries series, and I can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens next for Jinx. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
These books tend to be pure chaos and I love them. This time, Jinx is coming to terms with being the new manager of the resort, managing to turn it into a success, but, during an event, someone turns up dead again! Now she's working to solve the murder while navigating a fledgling relationship with Detective Koa. I'm so into this series! I love the barely contained chaotic energy of everyone in the resort. It's hilarious and I'm looking forward to the next book.

Mai Tai Confessions Book 2 of the Coconut Confessions, Hawaii Cozy Mysteries by Addison Moore is another fun and laugh out loud adventure with Jinx, Ruby, and Lani, only Ms. Moore can make a murder mystery humorous. The worldbuilding is incredible and brings the island alive for me. I am loving this series and can't wait for more!

I love this author's books. There is never a disappointing moment, well, almost never lol, and the characters are always lovable and fun. The mysteries always keep me guessing, and the animals keep me laughing. I had a blast with this story, and I look forward to reading more.
This book is a comedy cozy. I can never decide if I would run to, or run away from this resort if I were a guest. Between the hordes of cats and chickens, drop-dead gorgeous males, zany staff, and corpses, I would say it’s a toss-up. I received an advance copy, but my review is honest and voluntary.
In this second book in the series, Jinx discovers a body at the resort. This is an entertaining cozy with interesting characters. This is not a paranormal story by any means but the cats and roosters do seem to have something special about them. The setup for the next book is exciting but this one can be read as a standalone in the series.
Another chaos filled adventure for Jinx Julep. I know Koa would like her to stay out of murder investigations, but I don’t think her brain will let her. I love the description of the resort including all the cats and chickens! It sounds delightful! This book is chock full of hilarious hijinks provided mostly by Ruby. That woman is a disaster all on her own! It was a fun read!
Second book in the series and Jinx is just as funny and hapless as usual. She and her friends investigate when a judge in the mai tai contest is murdered at the resort and there's plenty of suspects to go around. A great read, with a laugh out loud moment every few pages. Recommended
Mai Hai Confessions: The Coconut Confessions Hawaii cozy mystery book 2
This is a great fun read with wonderful characters. The reset is improving and there is a murder during an event these characters are delightful including the cat a chicken brigrade.
This is the second in the Coconut Cove series. Fun, breezy cozy with all the right elements. Now I want to visit Hawaii. Addison offers up such fun details, you can almost smell the flowers and the ocean and taste the food delicacies. I love all her series and this one had me at coconut!
