The Pumpkin Patch Pact

Rate this book
Moriah Pearson swore she’d never return to small town Candlewick Creek. But when her grandmother falls ill and the town’s beloved Halloween Festival is on the brink of collapse, the big-city event planner has no choice but to come home… and face the one man she’s never been able to get along with.

Orion Gable has roots as deep as the pumpkins in his patch. He’s grumpy, grounded, and determined to protect the festival’s traditions - even if it means clashing with Moriah’s color-coded plans at every turn.

But as crisp autumn nights bring them closer together, Moriah starts to wonder if the home she left behind might be exactly where her heart belongs.

A stubborn hometown hero.
A city girl rediscovering her roots.
One fall festival that could change everything.

more like 2⭐. this was clean and the writing was fine, but the story was so cliche that it felt sterile. you could switch any character for another character and it wouldn't change anything. nobody has personality except their one token trait that made them so stereotypical. you never really get to know anyone because they didn't have depth so it feels so impersonal and just goes down the checklist of cliche plot points. big city girl leaves corporate job to go back to her small town and save the town by taking over the festival. add nosy, matchmaking townsfolk, third act breakup, instalove, it's all there. I didn't hate this book but I won't remember anything about it because it felt really generic. I don't plan to pass it along to my teen (even though it's totally clean) because it just felt hollow. I feel really bad like that's a very harsh critique but there wasn't one cute moment that stuck out for being unique to this book only. 🤷‍♀️

This was the perfect book to read in October. This was a childhood rivals to fake dating to lovers story.

This story is about a woman named Moriah Pearson. She swore that she would never return to Candlewick Creek. Her grandmother falls ill and the town’s Halloween Festival 🎃 is on the verge of collapse. The big-city even planner has to return to Candlewick Creek. She has to face the one man that she has never gotten along with Orion Gable.

Orion has roots deep into Candlewick Creek. He has a sister named Sage. He is an artist but he doesn’t allow others to see it. He is determined to protect the festival’s traditions even if it means clashing with Moriah’s color-coded plans at every turn. However to dispel any rumors and to stay on task they pretend to fake date. The crisp Autumn nights bring them closer together. Moriah wonders if leaving the home she left behind might just be where her heart belongs. This was a sweet love story and centered around a pumpkin patch. I didn’t like the misunderstanding they had at the end but I loved how the story ended. I loved reading this book.

If you didn’t guess based on the summary, this story was pretty much a Hallmark movie in book form. And I loved it! Maybe it was a little cheesy at times, but how can you not love reading about people discovering the simple things that make them truly happy in life? The ending was a bit odd. Honestly, it fell a little flat for me but, overall, it was a cute story that was especially clean, and I really loved that.

Loved this very cute small town romance. It was very similar to the holiday Hallmark movies - the successful corporate woman (Moriah) goes back to her small hometown and falls in love with the boy (Orion) who drove her crazy in high school. The malicious corporate business partner feels threatened and tries to ruin the Harvest festival, but the town comes together in the end and makes the festival even better. Which is what small towns do, right? Overall, a great escape romance.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was like a perfectly cheesy Hallmark movie about a city corporate woman goes back to her small town living and falls in love. I'm happy I was able to read it and enjoyed it very much. Moriah and Orion and quite the typical small town romance main leads. The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is probably just a personal preference, but I don't like it when authors tend to repeat the same word over and over again.

Moriah

Moriahs grandmother is sick and can't help with the local Halloween festival. So she returns home and is forced to work with Orion against her will. They've never been able to get along, but now they'll have to work together so that the town won't miss out on much needed tourists. She'll bring her city girl planning into small town organization and have to prove that she's got what it takes. This book is good. I enjoyed reading it and the characters were fun.

Nice cover! The story is good with interesting characters. The only thing that I didn't care for was at the beginning when it switches from her point of view to his, it basically repeats what the female character was thinking. He never left while she has been gone for years. I enjoyed watching them work together and figure out their feelings for each other.
