A forbidden, Cinderella romantasy wrapped in curses, courtly glamour, and dangerous fairy-tale magic, where only love can rewrite the story.
The prince of my heart, the hunter of my soul.
When Jacob Grimm’s beloved brother, Wilhelm, falls gravely ill, Jacob will do anything to save him—even strike a blood bargain with a cunning Enchantress. In exchange, the brothers become her Hunters, cursed to serve her dark will. Their task sends them on a quest to a kingdom where villagers whisper of men turning to wolves, nixies lurking in ponds, and the young disappearing into the Black Forest, trailing after the tune of a piper.
But upon arrival, Jacob realizes there are evil forces at work, more powerful than the brothers have encountered. Seeking help, Jacob joins an alliance with a nobleman’s daughter, the smart and beautiful Ella von Maier. Yet, she too holds dark secrets, and she’ll do anything to keep them hidden.
Swept into a world of court glamor and alluring magic, Jacob and Ella’s lives are inextricably intertwined as they work to save the kingdom and break his curse. But as truths begin to unfold, Ella wonders if she can trust this handsome stranger, or if he’s, in fact, her enemy.
As friendship blooms into love, their cursed fates force them to make impossible choices where fairy tales and love come at a treacherous cost.
To Love a Grimm is a standalone, Cinderella romantasy. If you crave forbidden swoony romance, star-crossed lovers, protective heroes with hidden scars, and a heroine who must choose between duty and her heart, you’ll be enchanted by this thrilling tale that ends in a happily ever after.

I went in blind but damn this was good! There’s enough of a Cinderella/ brothers grim element to be nostalgic but so many original elements and twists that it hooks you in. Really enjoyed the pacing and the gothic dark feel.
This utterly unique and captivating tale took me on a wondrous yet wild ride that I was not expecting!
Jacob Grimm would do anything to save his sick and dying brother, Wilhelm. So when an Enchantress magically appears and offers him a deal that would keep his brother alive, he accepts. He and his brother must write the stories of the Forbidden creatures living in their realm to send those creatures back into the Enchantress’s kingdom, and in turn she claims this will keep humans from harm, and Jacob can only keep his brother Wilhelm alive if they finish each story on time. Ella von Maier struggles to keep her family manor afloat after the death of her mother and abandonment of her father. Her father unexpectedly returns with a cold and calculating wife, and two manipulative step sisters. When a chance encounter finds Jacob and Ella meeting for the first time, their fates are sealed. Ella battles to maintain control of her life, with her stepmother plotting a marriage between Ella and the local Dr. Wissen, who has many dark secrets lurking under the surface, and Ella soon discovers secrets of her own that start unraveling. Jacob resolves to keep Ella from marrying someone she doesn’t love, and vows to give her the happily ever after she deserves, even at the cost of his own happiness and life.
I devoured this book in a matter of couple days and I honestly stayed up the night I finished it, just mulling over all the plot twists and characters. Oh, the characters! I love them all so, so much. Well, except for Dr. Wissen and company…
I highly recommend this eerie, Edgar Allen Poe-esque, Grimm fairytale story that will keep you hanging at the edge of your seat!

Where do I even start…. I absolutely LOVED this book!
This is a fantasy retelling book that has all of your favorite fairy tales wrapped up in one! I don’t want to say too much to spoil it. But I loved the way how a lot of the different stories were intertwined with each other. The book has its own take on Cinderella and a nice twist to it. I have to say the step mother and sisters in here seem even more wicked that the actual Cinderella. I despised them and wanted to throw my Kindle every time they spoke. They made me absolutely sick lol. The Grimm brothers I adored as well as their little side kick they had that had me laughing at all parts.
The book had all these twists and dark retellings of fairytales that I was obsessed with. But throughout the ending of the book I kept thinking I was gonna know what was going to happen but it continued to surprise me. In one point of the book it absolutely wrecked me🥲 It had me sobbing at 8am on my couch. I’ve never cried that hard over any book I’ve read yet.
Overall I loved this book and it should def be added to your TBR!
This was such a captivating and heartfelt read. From the very first chapter, I was drawn into the world. It was full of mystery, emotion, and a touch of darkness that made it completely addictive.
The writing flows effortlessly, painting vivid imagery that makes every scene come alive.
The characters are layered and compelling, each one with their own struggles, strengths, and moments of vulnerability.
The romance was absolutely enchanting, tender, intense, and full of emotion. I loved the way the story balanced fantasy, heart, and a sense of destiny all at once.
Christina Farley has such a beautiful way with words. Her storytelling feels both magical and deeply human, and she makes you feel every emotion her characters experience.
To Love a Grim is the perfect read for anyone who loves a little magic, a lot of emotion, and a romance that feels timeless. I adored it and can’t wait to read more from Christina Farley! 💜
I LOVED this book so much! I couldn't put it down. (I finished it in 2 days).
I've read several fairytale retellings, many Cinderella retellings, but this one topped them all. It is possibly my favorite retelling to date. It told the story of Cinderella in such a unique way that, while also staying true to the story, you didn't know which direction the story would take. The plot twists were amazing and caught me off guard each time (which is hard, especially in a retelling).
The characters were so well written, it felt like they came to life on the page. I loved the relationship between the Grimm brothers. Their sibling dynamic was amazing. Not to mention the other "side" characters. I'm not naming names to give away spoilers, but the side characters who tagged along with the brothers made me laugh so many times. I could go on and on about the characters. The step-mother and step-sisters, I hated them with a burning passion; to Ella, I loved her to bits. Let's just say I wish this were a series so I could get more of all of them.
The book made me laugh, blush, tear up, and want to commit a crime for a character. If you love: -Friends to enemies to lovers -Slow burn -Hidden magical powers -Broody hunters -Forbidden love -Dual POV Then this is a book for you. Do NOT hesitate to buy it. It's completely worth it.
I would like to thank the amazing author, Christina Farley, for allowing me to be on the ARC team for this book. I cannot tell you how much I loved it.
Omg this was so fantastic!! If you love Grimm fairytales then you’ll love this! I absolutely loved every moment of it and the blend of the tales was genius!! So good!!
This one was so fun! Plus there was plenty of action, adventure, romance, and of course magic, and mayhem! Then there were the awesome characters!
Jacob was broody and protective! I loved this connection with his brother and the love and loyalty he had.
Ella was fantastic! She was a fierce determined woman who didn’t shy away from doing what she believed to be was right.
The two of them together were a delicious slow burn!
If you love twisted and original fairytales, Cinderella retelling, forbidden romance, morally grey characters, magic, dual POV, HEA, secrets, protective MMC, fairytale creatures, and so much more then check this one out!
Oh my goodness! I LOVED this book. Cinderella retelling with fairy tale tie ins. It was magical! I can’t wait for the next book! This one is going to live rent free in my head for a long while.
I was traveling through Germany with my family, wandering castles, hiking the Black Forest, eating not enough chocolate, and exploring adorable towns the Grimm Brothers once traveled. When we visited the village of Honau, we stayed at an old manor that sat by the river.
Our first day was a hike up the mountain to visit Lichtenstein Castle. With the mist curling around the lone white tower and steep walls climbing up out of the cliff, it truly felt like we were wandering through a fairytale.
That night, we ate outside at the manor, and as darkness settled in, lights sparkled through the windows and across the walls of the castle perched on the cliff above us, and music floated down to where we were. I asked the owner of our manor what was going on at the castle. He said it was a party the duke was hosting at his home. Instantly, I thought of the story of Cinderella and how she might have sat outside her own manor, now treated like a servant, wishing to escape a better life.
And that’s where the idea of this story started to unfold for me.
I hope as you read this tale of a woman brave enough to embrace her true identity and a man strong enough to sacrifice everything for those he loves, that you will find a piece of yourself in their struggles, and it will give you the courage to live your life fearlessly, too.
As a girl who loves all things Brothers Grimm this was a book I was so ready to pick up and devour. And guess what? I DID JUST THAT. This was a was an enchanting stand alone that follows the Grimm's Cinderella and that makes you never want to leave the world this author created.
✨Retelling ✨Fated mates ✨Forbidden romance ✨Broody MMC ✨Magic ✨Slow burn ✨Dual POV ✨Based on the lives of the Grimm Brothers
Y'all....Y'all...Y'all!!!!! This book was a wild ride! This is the Once Upon a Time TV show, that also tries to tackle the Grimm's version of Cinderella in a quirky retelling. Cinderella kisses a frog prince, gets helped by Rumplestiltskin, and chased by Scarlett and her wolves. Plot: Jacob Grimm signs a blood oath (in order to save his brother) to write 'the Forbidden' back into their original stories as they've littered the real world and are wreaking havoc. He sees all of them as monsters so he doesn't have to acknowledge the monster he's become. He meets Ella and things get complicated. He might have to learn that the Forbidden aren't always evil, and happy ever afters are the stuff of fairy tales, not the 'grim' stories he and his brother have been writing.
I absolutely loved this story. I have one quibble with an out of character moment from Ella, as in the rest of the book she's shown to be so selfless and worried for others. However, other than that one moment, (and the near heart attack I had as I got to the end IYKYK) the twists and turns were a joy to follow.
The story is so unique and I loved the little bits of real life you get of Jacob Grimm's story. I loved Whillehm (I probably misspelled that), and I was kinda sad that it's Hans Christian Anderson's story we get (Though that makes sense) and not his for the next installment. I'll be looking out for the next book in the series!
Note: There was a bit of gore, and Ella and Jacob internally describe the physical characteristics of the other person(and how attracted they are). It was to the point that I thought it was a bit overboard, but everything stayed firmly closed-door...nothing more than a kiss (by more than just a frog!).
Amazing story and probably my favorite read of the year, so far!
This standalone is for lovers of the show Grimm and the Grimm Brothers fairytales, specifically Cinderella but with a dark gothic romantasy twist, slow brin forbidden romance, fated mates, broody love interests, twist, turns and one hell of an emotional roller coaster, hidden magical powers and a majestic kiss in castle ruins that will leave you breathless.
This story follows Jacob Grimm, desperate to save his brother from the illness that is plaguing him, enters into a blood pact with a dark enchantress. Now serving as the cursed hunters who are forced to serve all that the enchantress desires, are set off to a village with multiple terrors that are more powerful than anything they have ever seen. While in this haunted village, Jacob enlists the help of Ella, a nobleman’s daughter who has secrets of her own. As the danger rises, so does the tension. Soon the pair facing a curse and the fate of the kingdom, their new found relationship will be tested and the price may be too much for either to pay.
This author always writes the most beautiful happily ever afters. In a world that is so messy and chaotic, it is nice to have a delightful ending. The personal struggles are so realistically written that even though this is a fantasy story, it is easy to see why the characters made the choices they did. The writing is a breeze to read and the world building is vibrant and immersive that the pages practically turn themselves. I just love literally anything that Christina Farley puts out, she can do no wrong in my book (pun intended).
Her lashes lower, brushing her cheeks, and my chest tightens like it’s forgotten to breathe.
Want to read a thrilling fairytale that has you on the cusps of your seat wondering what will happen next? The standalone, To Love a Grimm by Christina Farley is a fairytale retelling of Cinderella based on the Grimm Brothers. This book is a forbidden romantasy shrouded in star-crossed lovers, betrayal, curses and yearning. It has modern language but is written in a gothic style.
The two Grimm brothers - Jacob and Wilhelm- enter into a blood-binding contract with the cunning Enchantress in exchange for saving Wilhelm’s life when on the verge of death, the brothers become her hunters. Cursed to live their lives completing a quest to hunt down all the forbidden that are living in their world. Yet when Jacob ends up in a field of crops where he gets attacked by the birds that defend the property he meets a kind and sweet maiden named Ella who throws a spanner in his life when he starts to fall for her.
I especially loved how the author added extra insight to other stories the Grimm brothers wrote about because it made the book just that bit more enjoyable.
“Living without you wasn’t living. But I’ve found you, and now that I have, I don’t want to ever leave.” - swooooning. There was quite a bit happening at times but I love the incorporation of all the characters into the events and how you really got to know them well and all the quirks they had to make them unique. Ella was a badass fighting alongside Jacob rather than going off to hide. Not your typical retelling of the fairytale Cinderella, the author Christina Farley added a few twists and turns to make the book unique and it was very engaging.

Huge thank you to RR Tours and Christina Farley for the gifted eARC in exchange for my honest and non spoiler review.
Something I’ve always loved growing up was fairytales and anything brothers Grimm related so when I saw To Love A Grimm, I knew I had to sign up in hopes to be able to give it a chance. Let me tell you, this did not disappoint! It is the perfect blend of a Cinderella/Brothers Grimm collab/retelling but it didn’t just stop that. It has more fairytale characters mixed in which were a surprise and a joy to read about.
Christina Farley is a new author to me but she definitely has that special fairytale writing style that made me feel like I just sat down to enjoy one of my favorite past-times. I felt like I teleported straight into a beautifully written world that felt like a warm welcoming hug. I know my past self was squealing as I read this book. In true brother Grimm fashion, this retelling brought everything from the classic happiness to the relatable sadness of loss, especially the loss of true love. I loved Ella, Jacob and Wilhelm so much and enjoyed every moment I had reading about them. The brotherly bond tugged at my heartstrings and I just wanted them both to be able to find happiness and peace after everything they have been through. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one as there was so many different ways things could go wrong especially with curses involved and this one didn’t disappoint. I’m excited to check out the second book in this fairy tale hearts series!
I’ll be the first to admit, I’m an absolute sucker for a good fairytale retelling, so yes, this review may come with a touch of bias. But To Love a Grimm completely earned every one of these five stars.
This isn’t just another Cinderella retelling, it’s a beautifully imagined blend of the classic tale and the origin story of the Brothers Grimm themselves, which makes it feel both familiar and refreshingly new. Christina Farley takes what we think we know about fairytales and twists it into something darker, deeper, and far more emotional.
The world-building is lush and magical, pulling you in from the very first page. The magic system feels organic to the world, and the writing has that timeless, almost lyrical quality that gives it a true fairytale feel. But make no mistake, this story isn’t all ballgowns and glass slippers. It’s full of heartache, loss, and impossible choices, all woven together with moments of hope and love that shine even brighter because of the darkness surrounding them.
And the plot twists, oh, the plot twists! Just when I thought I had the story figured out, something new would unfold, making it impossible to put down.
This is the kind of story that reminds me why I love fairytale retellings: it honors the bones of the original tale while giving us something completely unexpected and emotionally rich.
If you love fairytales with heart, high stakes, and a touch of darkness , To Love a Grimm will absolutely enchant you.
So many fairy tales woven together to make this fascinating story come to life. We follow Ella - she lost her mom and was abandoned by her father. Who later returns as remarried and with two stepsisters.
Jacob is a scholar who is forced into a deal/curse to save his dying brother. They race against time to record tales before Wilhelm’s time runs out.
There are so many odes to different fairytales. The characters are all dimensional and layered. I really enjoyed how fast moving the story was and how Christina wove everything together. The setting was kinda dark and gothic. Masterful! I really liked the ending and was curious to how it all would wrap up and was pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns!
💖 no spice - just kisses No language TW - intense battle scenes, oppressive relationship
Thank you Christina for this Arc! All opinions are my own.
Favorite quotes:
Except since my mother’s death, I’ve felt like a shadow, but with him, I’ve found my shape again.
I want to cling to last night and the kiss that left me completely intoxicated. To the night we washed dishes in her cold kitchen, and the afternoon in the woods when she hefted that pitchfork to save me. To the morning when I showed her my sketches, and even when her arms wrapped around my waist as we galloped away from the house of a monster, chased by a pack of werewolves.
This was a pretty decent read. I liked how it delved into a lot of fairy tales and history tidbits from the time, and was adapted into a nice narrative. Despite including so much, it was very cohesive (especially anything involving birds, + loved the brief 13 Brothers mention, a rare gem of a tale). It reminded me a lot of “Gilded” in terms of using mythology to enhance the story, but based in German tales rather than Korean ones. A good amount of the characters were also entertaining to see on the page, with some of my favorites being Wilhelm, Prince William, and Aunt Fiona.
While the modern language isn’t exactly my thing (though I do understand accessibility) and certain parts weren’t quite paced to my liking, I still enjoyed myself overall. Even with dealing with weird doctors and frustrating witches, we got to our happy ending, which was actually pretty impactful. The last few chapters were probably my favorite, given how the historical references were the most present there and the huge emotional drop in the last few paragraphs. As a dessert lover, I yearn for endings to have an “umph” to it, and this book did it nicely.
Thanks to Christina Farley for providing ARCs, and shoutout to the artists as well!

The plot: The plot of this one combined various fairytales, such as Cinderella and those from the Brothers Grimm, which I found to be very interesting. Despite having these inspirations, this was still a very unique tale, and I was interested throughout. The ending was not what I expected, but overall, I was still pleased with it.
The characters: The characters were enjoyable. The FMC was very likable and had a mix of Cinderella vibes, for obvious reasons, but was also a unique character in her own way. Jacob, the MMC was very charming and intriguing in his own way. I'm not super familiar with the Brothers Grimm, beyond a general understanding, but I think the author did a good job with them. I liked how various fairytale creatures popped in in this one; it made the story extra fun and surprising.
Romance: This one had a lot of forbidden love vibes mixed with forced proximity and slow burn. There were no spice scenes in this one.
If you like twists on fairytales, I think you would really like this one!
Tropes:
• Cinderella retelling • Brother's Grim • Forbidden love • Broody hunter • Hidden magic • Slow burn • Forbidden ... and much more!
I don't want to hear anyone calling this a Cinderella retelling because it's so much more than that. This book is a Cinderella retelling in the same way the BBC show Once Upon a Time was a Snow White retelling.
I devoured this book. It's so good. I love that the author gave the Grimm brothers their own story rather than them purely just being there to write everyone else's. I'm a sucker for books with monsters in them (especially werewolves) whether those monsters are romantic interests or not.
I got super giddy when the Nixie showed up but was honestly confused and a little upset that she was a female because I know the Nixie as its Swedish variant which only is known to take the shape of a beautiful white horse or a beautiful man with long black hair. I was able to shrug it off as the creature just using its form to lure Jacob into the water. The whole time I was reading that part I was just waiting for Jacob to toss some iron into the water or something. You'd think someone having to work in an area (like hunting) would brush up on the local folklore just incase especially when what your hunting are, for the most part, monsters.

If you’re looking for an exciting fairytale retelling that is focused more on the brothers Grimm style of tails and is much more dark and twisted, you should check out this book! You follow the FMC Ella (Cinderella) and a MMC Jacob who is one of the Grimm brothers, plopped down into the middle of the Cinderella fairytale with overlapping stories and characters popping up from other tales.
I love a dual POV so getting to follow both Ella and Jacob’s stories was a fun way to get immersed into this world and learn more about the enchanted beings that Jacob is trying to remove from our human world on behalf of a mysterious enchantress. I also really enjoyed this take on Cinderella and how independent and strong willed she was and deciding her own destiny. There was of course plenty of tension and banter between these two characters and also lots of fun magic and discovery of hidden powers that made the book exciting to read. Overall I really enjoyed it and would love to read more stories in this universe! My rating 4.7/5!
Thanks to the author and R&R book tours for the gifted copy, all opinions given are my own!
The way I have been NEEDING a standalone romantasy book like this is an understatement. I often find myself knee deep in the middle of big romantasy series but sometimes a GOOD standalone is all you need to get yourself out of a reading slump and this will certainly cure one if that's what you're needing.
I loved that this was more friends to lovers but also had plenty of moments where I was still flipping the pages trying to see what was going to happen next-the pacing wasn't slow at all-and I found myself rooting for... well, these "star crossed lovers." ✨️
If you love... 🥀 Fated mates ⚔️ Forbidden romance 🥀 Broody hunter ⚔️ Hidden magical powers 🥀 Stays true to the Grimms’ Cinderella 🥀 Happily ever after ⚔️ Slow-burn romance 🥀 Dual POV ⚔️ Secret identity 🥀 Based on the lives of the Grimm Brothers
Then it's your lucky day, because To Love A Grimm releases on 11/11 and you can preorder it now!
I absolutely loved this book! This is a Cinderella retelling that also includes characters from other fairytales written by the Brothers Grimm. I thought having Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm be main characters in the story with their fairytales put a unique spin on this retelling. The author did a wonderful job of setting the tone and atmosphere of the story so that you feel like you are in a fairytale. The story is told from a duel-POV alternating between Ella (Cinderella) and Jacob Grimm. I thought that really helped the story to flow well. It also helped me to feel more connected to both characters. I thought the ending of the story was so well-done. It beautifully wrapped up the characters’ story and set up for the next book in the series. I highly recommend this wonderful book if you enjoy the familiarity of classic fairytales told in a new and unique way.
I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
As far as retellings go this one was above and beyond. I loved it, so much. Ella is surrounded by misfortune, and now that her father is back things are even worse. With a new stepmother and two stepsisters in tow, Ella's life just became far more complicated. As she tries to figure out a way not to marry who they've chosen for her, much bigger forces are at play.
Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm are brothers hunting down Forbidden creatures for the Enchantress. They're tasked with writing the stories and sending the creatures back into their own world, but it's more of a curse than anything. Stronger than normal men, able to fight off beasts and monsters, but never able to have something as simple as love.
I absolutely love the way everything in this was like an intricately woven web. So many fairy tales are represented here, but in a gothic, dark fantasy backdrop.
A fabulous fairy-tale retelling with a dark, gritty feel! To Love a Grimm is a fast-paced Cinderella- story wrapped in forbidden romance, curses, and the haunting charm of the Grimm Brothers' world. The author masterfully weaves true elements from the original tales into a fresh and unique plot, without ever losing her own voice. I especially loved how the Grimm brothers themselves- authors of the classic fairy tales-were seamlessly woven into their own fantastical world (think 2005 The Brothers Grimm movie nostalgia) and seeing other fairy-tale characters intertwined added even more magic. The ending left me both satisfied and dreading the final page, since it's a standalone, but it ties up beautifully while hinting at what's to come next. If you love retellings filled with curses, magical creatures, and witchcraft, this
I just finished To Love a Grimm by Christina Farley, and I am honestly obsessed. This Cinderella-inspired romantasy is pure magic. She mixes Grimm brothers' lore with haunting curses and gorgeous court settings in a way that feels both classic and completely new.
I fell in love with Jacob and Ella. Their story is full of so much heartache and secrets, and the twists genuinely took my breath away. Their connection is a perfect slow-burn—you can feel the fierce loyalty and passion between them. The writing is beautiful, I couldn't put it down, and the characters (especially the Grimm brothers!) feel so real and complex.
This isn't your average fairytale retelling. It surprises you from start to finish, and I'm still thinking about it days later. If you love dark fairytales, forbidden romance, and happily-ever-afters that have a real bite to them, you have to read this.
This story gave me The Brothers Grimm meets Ever After vibes at first, but quickly morphed into its own thing. The story draws you in so quickly, that it’s easy to lose track of time. One moment you’re on chapter one, the next you’re halfway through and the sun has set. I loved the way the story unfolded, Brothers Grimm fairy tales were something I started reading quite young, and if you enjoyed the originals, you’re going to love this updated twist! Ella and Jacob are excellent characters, well-fleshed out, and you’ll easily fall in love with both. The magic system is interesting and unique, and I loved the idea of the brothers being compelled to collect all these fairy tales. I cannot wait to see what else lays in store in future books!
Sure we know of the Brothers Grimm BUT do we know why or how these literally geniuses came up with their stories? This story isn’t just a retelling of Cinderella it’s a unique story that blends real life accounts of the brothers (through a lot of research by the author) with an incredible story that I could not put down. It’s a dual POV between Jacob Grimm (the handsome broody hunter) and Ella (our sweet nobleman’s daughter) and this plot twist heavy book keeps you on your toes where nothing is what it seems. This is the first book in the series but it is to be a standalone, but there’s Easter eggs in this book that leapfrog into the next book which we know is to follow Hans Christian Anderson and his tale of The Little Mermaid.
Great YA book - zero profanity and kissing spice level but the yearning and chemistry is there and in its an eventual happily ever after ending.
Every single book of her that I’ve read has locked me in this loop of twists that I don’t see coming. I’m not one to be surprised by changes in plot but hers always keeps me captivated.
Ella has the typical Cinderella story but with a much different back story and plot. She starts to get into trouble as she follows along with the brothers Grimm in their quest to find lost story’s, the characters, and the way to send them back to their enchanted land.
It’s such a captivating book, with enthralling and descriptive writing!
Highly recommend for all the classic fairytale lovers out there!
Note: some gore due to wolf attacks, no language, no spice
Thank you to the author for allowing me to read the ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own!
Ella is just a girl taking care of the land her dad left her with after her mother’s passing. When her dad comes back home with a new step mom and 2 step sisters Ella’s life is about to completely change. destined to be married off by her father, Ella finds her story relies in the hands of the Grimm brothers and her one true love Jacob Grimm.
This was a beautiful retelling of Cinderella! I really was on the edge of my seat toward the end nervous for what would happen ! I absolutely loved all of the fairytale elements thrown into it ! It was the opposite of what I thought it would be in the best way!!
I am unwell after finishing this story. I stared at the wall for a good 10 minutes once I was done. It was incredible. I love that it's a standalone so that I can process everything and find some form of closure*. This story will draw you in from the beginning and you will not be okay until the end. There is so many twists and turns and I could NEVER had imagined that ending. I finished this book within a day because I just couldn't stop. Yes, I neglected some house responsibilities (oh well).
I can't wait to read Han's story. Christina has a way to make the story come alive in your mind and I am so here for it!
* I found my closure after reading the bonus 2 chapters you get when you sign up for Christina's newsletter. I needed that.
To Love A Grimm is an amazing twist on how the Brothers Grimm got and wrote their beloved tales that involves an enchantress and a curse as well as displays the bond between two brothers. It has so many of the fairytales we know, and some we may not be as familiar with, woven in and hidden within this story of Jacob, Wilhelm and Ella. I enjoyed trying to find them all. The story is believable and exciting. I was wondering how it was going to end "happily ever after" until the very end and I am satisfied with how it did! I can't wait for the next one!
