The competition is fiercer. The stakes are higher. And the magic is deadlier than ever. Spellcaster All-Stars brings the Spellcaster duology to its epic conclusion in a 200,000-word roller coaster of sabotage, justice, friendship, and romance.
I should be dead. Instead, I’ve made it into the Top 13 of Spellcaster’s creature season.
Also, I may have murdered a bunch of vampires, but I can’t remember and Malachi’s story that they killed each other in a fight for power sounds too convenient. He’d rather cover it up and focus on the competition. Fine by me. I’m not looking to be exterminated; I’m here to win.
With each week leading to the finale, the stakes get higher, and the competition among species is fiercer than ever. I cannot afford distractions—especially not the male variety. But I already promised a kiss to a werewolf and am indebted to a wizard. Then there’s the up close and personal coaching sessions with Malachi Rayne. Why is he so keen to protect me? Our species are about as compatible as a lit match and a stick of dynamite.
I wish I could say justice for my family has been served, but corruption runs deep, and betrayal even deeper. To protect the loved ones I have left, I must hide the horrible truth. But that won’t stop me from seeking vengeance.
First, I need to win Spellcaster and the powerful prize that goes to the champion. But the vampires aren’t the only ones out to stop me and, once more, I don’t know who I can trust.
May the best caster win … and live to tell the tale.
Vampire hunters, wolf shifters, witches, elves and Fae with humor, romance, snark and steam. I love bad boys with hearts of gold and heroines who kick ass.

I spent last year recommending Spellcaster: Wildcard to anyone who would listen—and even gifting copies to friends, family, and my followers. Now that Spellcaster: Allstars drops at the end of November 2025, I already know what my go-to holiday gift is going to be.
I first picked up book 1 after stumbling across an interesting review, and it ended up being my favorite read of 2024—out of more than 400 books. So when I had the chance to be part of a small first-reader team for Allstars (there were only four of us!), I felt incredibly lucky. It was a proof/beta-style read, and we got to help make sure it was in the best shape possible before release.
Let me just say: Allstars is long. The proof PDF clocked in at 787 pages. I’m not totally sure what that’ll translate to in print, but don’t let the size scare you off—it’s absolutely worth it. It feels like getting two books in one, and there’s really no clean breakpoint anyway. The story continues the wild, reality-competition–tinged journey that began in Wildcard and elevates it to newer heights.
Now, you might see “reality competition” and think, that’s not my thing, but trust me—it’s so much more than that. I’ve read other books that revolved around reality-TV style contests and ended up feeling cringey or contrived. This one? While the competition is a driver, it never dives into the “reality TV ick.” Instead, it stays grounded in strong characters, emotional stakes, and worldbuilding that rewards attention. Even after 700+ pages, I’d have happily kept reading just to stay in this world longer.
Important note: this is not a standalone. You must read Spellcaster: Wildcard first. Yes, you could dive into Allstars cold and piece things together, but this is a true duology—not a book that recaps everything for you. You get the full experience only by going in order.
What I love most is that, while it’s technically YA, it has cross-appeal. Anyone who enjoys urban paranormal fantasy with a dash of romance can sink into it. Younger readers especially might see themselves in Haylee or in the ensemble—there’s space to relate, grow, and root.
If you’re looking for something fun, engaging, unexpected, and utterly immersive, do yourself a favor and pick up this duology. Equal parts heart, magic, and momentum—this duology cements itself as a must-read for YA fantasy fans.
I was fortunate to receive a complimentary ARC from the author, which gave me the opportunity to share my voluntary thoughts.
How I Rate Because I mostly read ARCs, I focus on how I think fellow readers with similar tastes will respond. I sometimes round up or down based on pacing, prose, or overall impact, and I try to keep my personal preferences from weighing too heavily.
⭐️ 1 Star – Finished, but not for me; I never DNF ARCs. ⭐️⭐️ 2 Stars – Struggled due to writing, content, or editing issues. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 Stars – Decent read with untapped potential; recommend with some reservations. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 Stars – Really enjoyed it and would recommend for several reasons. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – Exceptional; lingers in my mind well after reading. A story I’d gladly revisit.
This book, this series is epic and gave me all the feels. I cried, laughed, cursed at the bad guys, everything. The book started right where we left off from the deliciously cruel cliffhanger on book 1 and right along some unexpected twists, some more betrayals, I got to feel like I really was on a television show and feel the wonder as if magic was real. That's how good the book is. I'm so happy I got to read this series and I can say with certainty I want more and I can't wait to read the other book in the same world. This is a must read for sure!
What an unpredictable magical rollercoaster sequel 😆🪄 ✨
I laughed, I cried and was drawn right into the book. There were plot twists and turns I never saw coming leaving me guessing and wanting to keep going to find out what happens next! I was so engaged in the story and characters I had to force myself to put the book down from the edge of my seat. The hardbacks for these duology books are absolutely stunning with gold and purple foiling on the page edges, artistic pictures are visually gorgeous making them complete collectables for book lovers.
What a spectacular way to follow up an already thrilling book being Spellcaster wild card and what a wild card it was! This sequel is magnificent, well written with everything you want in a book and an absolute MUST READ.
Nikki Jefford just knows how to have the reader engaged in the characters, story, events and just when you think you know where the plot is headed your drawn back in with a compleltely unpredictable twist that will have you absolutely suprised and enthrawlled.
Nikki knows how to pull on your heart strings and leave you reeling for more. You won't want the story the end and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

You won't want to miss out on this or her others so check them out after this wonderful duology, as your next reads.. you won't regret it❤️📚
Spellcaster All Stars is an absolutely epic conclusion to the duology, picking up right where Spellcaster Wild Cards left off — and immediately rewarding readers who survived that massive cliffhanger. I loved how the author kept us waiting for answers just long enough to heighten the tension before finally pulling back the curtain. It made the opening chapters electric.
While the series is classified as YA, this installment definitely leans into upper YA territory with more mature, steamy moments than the first book. The reality-TV competition setting is taken to a whole new level here: the pranks are bigger, wilder, and more out-of-control in all the best ways. Every challenge feels high-stakes, chaotic, and completely addictive.
Emotionally, this book hits every note. Relationships are tested and strengthened, alliances shift, betrayals sting, and every character moment feels earned. Despite being almost the length of two standard novels, the pacing is fast and engaging — I flew through it without ever wanting to come up for air.
And just when I thought I’d figured everything out, the author blindsided me again with twists I absolutely never saw coming. It’s rare for a finale to deliver this hard, but this one left me breathless, heart-wrenched, and fully satisfied.
The author truly outdid herself; you can feel her heart and soul woven into every page. Spellcaster All Stars is a must-read — an emotional, thrilling, unforgettable finale. I can’t wait to gift it to others so they can experience this incredible journey too. 10/10 — an absolute triumph.
Spellcaster All-Stars is an absolute thrill ride from start to finish—an enchanting blend of magic, mystery, and high-stakes competition that keeps you hooked long after you’ve turned the last page. Nikki Jefford delivers a story that feels both fresh and delightfully addictive, drawing readers into a world where danger and desire weave together in all the best ways. Right from the beginning, the book shines with its vibrant characters and sharp, fast-paced writing. Each spellcaster bursts off the page with unique strengths, flaws, and personalities, making the ensemble cast feel truly alive. The relationships—both alliances and rivalries—add layers of tension that constantly shift, keeping you guessing who to trust and who’s playing a deeper game.
And the twists? There are plenty. Just when you think you’ve figured out where the story is heading, Nikki flips the script with clever reveals and unexpected turns that raise the stakes and deepen the intrigue. The plot never drags; every chapter pushes you forward with magic-fueled surprises that make it impossible to put down.
Overall, Spellcaster All-Stars is an amazing read—fun, dramatic, twisty, and brimming with charm. Whether you’re a long-time fan of magical competition stories or diving into this style for the first time, this book delivers an exciting adventure that feels both immersive and unforgettable. Highly recommended for fantasy lovers craving magic, momentum, and tons of delicious twists. ✨📚
*this is part 2 of a duology so make sure you read book 1 first or you won’t get everything!*
Spellcaster All Stars is everything a finale should be — explosive, emotional, and utterly addictive. Picking up right where Wildcard left us hanging, it wastes no time rewarding us who survived that jaw-dropping cliffhanger. Nikki masterfully stretches the suspense just long enough to keep you breathless before the revelations start rolling in, making the opening chapters feel electric.
Though the series is labeled YA, this installment confidently steps into upper YA territory with more mature, steamy moments that feel natural and earned. The reality-TV competition vibes are bigger and bolder than ever — the pranks are wilder, the chaos is turned all the way up, and every challenge feels high-stakes in the best possible way.
Emotionally, the book fires on all cylinders. Relationships crack and mend, alliances shift, betrayals hit hard, and every character arc lands perfectly. Despite being nearly double the length of a typical novel, the pacing never drags; I tore through it without ever wanting to come up for air.
And the twists? Forget guessing — the author blindsided me again and again. It’s rare for a series conclusion to hit this hard, but this one left me breathless, heart-wrecked, and completely satisfied.
You can feel Nikki’s passion on every page. This is a thrilling, unforgettable finale that I can’t wait to gift to friends so they can fall in love with it too. 10/10 — an absolute must-read.
This second book in this duology is... there are no words to describe how wonderfully amazing this book is!
You absolutely have to read this duology! The second book, some may say is a bit long, but let me tell you, it isn't long enough! I absolutely DID NOT want this book to end!
I absolutely love Malachi Rayne! Don't get me wrong, I love Kace, especially how he treats Haylee. I really hope Nikki writes the book she mentioned at the end of this one, with Malachi!
This book had me so angry at times, as well as sad. I really cried at a certain spot when Haylee's aunt did something unspeakable to Haylee's guardian! I was actually devastated! I kept thinking, "No! How could Nikki do this!" Then I kept reading and I started really crying after I read what happened after.
Don't even get me started on Zane! I was so angry at him when I read what he did to Haylee!
There are a lot of happy moments in this book as well.
I hope this all makes sense, I am trying not to give any spoilers away. It's very hard! lol
This book ends on a happy note. Haylee is changing the world as she knows it! #TeamHaylee #TeamMalachi
Spellcaster Allstars by Nikki Jefford is an absolute must-read! It picks up right where Wildcard left off, dropping you straight back into the cliffhanger without any slow buildup. Haylee Hutchins' story continues with even more emotional depth, and she's such a relatable and loveable character-her struggles feel real, reminding us that everyone faces rough moments, magical or not.
This book (Duology) is a full-on emotional rollercoaster. I laughed, I cried, and my heart broke and healed right along with the characters. Although the series is labeled YA (or upper YA), it resonates across all ages because of it's honesty and universal themes/struggles. Reminding us that at the end of the day we are all 'human'.
What really stood out to me is how unpredictable this story is. In a genre where twists and turns can feel obvious, this Duology keeps you on your toes, and keeps you guessing in the best possible ways. It's refreshing, original, and absolutely addictive!
I happily give it a Four Wand Lift! I highly recommend to anyone who LOVES heartfelt, surprising, and unputdownable fantasy that's relatable!
What an all-star five-star read. This kicks off after the end of the first story Wild Card in the Spellcaster series, and you do need to have read that one first. This one picks up the baton and runs with it, taking all of the prizes along the way. Haylee Hutchins has had so much thrown at her, she really has had it so hard recently, but she hasn’t let it stop her, she has kept going and just gone from strength to strength, the question is will she have the strength to win the competition or the strength to stand by if she loses? There are so many twists in this story, and so many parts that will keep you on your toes, it’s a thrilling ride and one that you will be so glad that you went along with Haylee on this journey, to becoming someone her family could be proud of, the family that she lost and the one she found along the way. Each step of the competition is another step on her journey and how beautiful that journey is, this is a beautifully written story that encompasses rightness and what it is to be human and compassionate.
Wow! This book was an emotional roller-coaster. At one moment I was giggling and then I wanted to throw my phone away. I loved it and hated it at the same time.
Haylee, that zombie grew up in this book. She's so different from the first book. She's more confident with the fact that she's a zombie. She has accepted it, and she's just amazing. Next, we have Malachi, that vampire is 🔥🔥 Honesty I was hoping that Haylee would have ended with him. He's my favorite character. Kace, that werewolf is like a big puppy. He can go from cuddles to punches in one moment. He's one of the nicest characters that I've known. And, of course, we have Zane. That wizard is one of a kind. To be honest, until the end of the book, I liked him, but after what he did to Haylee, I wanted to hit him. Special mention to Cameron. This man is really wonderful and he deserves happiness.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Another 5 Star book by Nikki Jefford that had me hooked from the start! I loved the ups and downs, twists and turns with characters going from good to bad and bad to good. The main character Haylee is going through all the normal teen drama on top of dealing with her new supernatural life and it makes for quite a wild ride. She is working through life-changing trauma and making a place for herself on a reality show where she started out as the very controversial and only Zombie contestant. Going from underdog to star comes with some perks and a ton of problems for Haylee. Family problems and new relationships seem to have her world in a constant state of chaos. I really liked how she never gave up and always fought for what she wanted, the truth and what was fair. A great read for teens to adults with a strong, moral driven female main character that any girl would love to have as a bestie. I truly hope Nikki will create more from this world, and soon!
Another AMAZING book by Nikki Jefford!! I thought book one was good, but book two blew it out of the water! Be prepared because this one will have your emotions running all over the place. ;) Much like the last book, this one kept me on the edge of my seat. I found it extremely hard to put down. Overall, I loved seeing Haylee regain her confidence throughout the story, and watching all of the new friends that she made along the way. Many of her relationships between the characters kept me guessing on who was being true and who wasn't. In some cases, I was pleasantly surprised, whereas others pretty much ticked me off. lol. Although, I was sad to see the story end, I'm sooooo glad that I had the opportunity to dive into the duology. Don't let the length deter you...it is so worth it!!
Book 1 in this YA urban fantasy duology was my favorite read of 2024, capturing my attention and heart with its tense action, harrowing adventure, humbling life lessons, and complex supernatural world building. But, wow, book 2 is another doozy! Poor Haylee and her competitors have to suffer through many more episodes to wrap season 13 of the magic-performing reality show, and all of them are in for mysterious twists, romantic tension, and hard work in a world of vampires, werewolves, zombies, witches/wizards... and humans. They face challenges on and off stage in a world all too similar to the real one full of celebrity corruption and power struggles, egotism and virtuous righteousness, backstabbing and defamation, politics and hate crimes, and self-empowerment and advocacy. It's a lot packed into, well, also a lot of pages. But it keeps you on your toes right up to the end--and wanting more (pretty please?!) of this deeply dynamic universe and Jefford's realistic (morally grey) characters.
I LOVED THIS BOOK! I loved the entire duology. From begin to end. Spellcaster all-stars picks up where book one spellcaster wild card left us off on a huge cliffhanger. There are so many ups and downs. Love interests you’ll want to have happen. And betrayals you may not see coming. It’s action packed and keeps you on your toes. Haylee has been through so much between the two books you want to read. She overcomes so much and is an amazing person still. She deserves everything. Now go get the first book if you haven’t already so you can get book two also. You’ll love this book as much as I did. I just wish the star rating was higher. SO GOOD!!! GOO READ IT!!
“Love is like magic. It’s wild and untamed, a force that sweeps you off your feet when you least expect it. I’m ready to let it carry me away.”
Swoon!!!❤️❤️❤️What a joy this was!! I LOVED everything about it!!!
There was a bit bittersweet at the end but for the most part i thought it was well done and deserved for our heroine Hailey!! I was rooting for her and Kace in the romance department and rooting for her to win the whole competition. I Hope there is something in the future with an update of where and how she is and maybe some sweet revenge on a few who still deserve it!! 🥹
“That’s the thing about underdogs; we don’t need the spotlight to shine. We are the spark.”
A 4 wand 🪄 plus 6 for this book! I had the incredible honor of being an ARC for this book and new to me author. Spellcaster All-Stars is such an amazing book! It's a reality show with contestants and 4 coaches. The contestants have to compete week after week performing magic showing off special skills. Sometimes they get guidance by they're coaches, but usually they are given a challenge for the following week until only 3 remain. This is a high stakes game and a roller-coaster ride of a story. It will keep you guessing until the very end!
Team Haylee is back and the competition is hitting all the feelings in this explosive ending! Old enemies and potential new allies all seem to pour out of the wood work. Will Haylee succumb or overcome everything coming at her? Will the Spellcasters competition be everything she daydreamed about or will it become a waking nightmare that she cant escape from? The Rollercoaster of Feelings is departing, make sure youre locked and loaded because its gonna be a fast ride that will leave you wanting more. Definitely 4 wands!
This book was amazing. At one point, I was thinking I knew who done it, and I guessed right. And the twist on the love stuff, girl…… I will need an in the future on that one for sure if you go there. And the other twist- I’m glad the mean people got what they got. This book duo is just amazing. If you haven’t read this series I highly recommend reading them. Nikki Jefford nailed it. I am glad I was on the ARC team for this book.
The ending of Spellcaster Wild Card was insane! The journey to reach the conclusion of Spellcaster All-Stars was even more so. All-Stars picks up right where Wild Card left off. So we still have a competition to go through and justice to be served. The twists and surprises were unexpected and well executed. I'm sorry to see this duology end, and the book hangover is real, but you will recover. Don't miss the finale!
Starting off where Wild Card left off Haylee's adventure keeps on giving us twists and shockers that I never expected. I really adored Kace alot and I thought that Nikki gave us a great ending. I also really want more of Malachi and really hope to have more of him in the future all in all a phenomenal duet
Such a great conclusion to the series. This is a one of a kind story line for a book. I enjoyed seeing the character development through the series. Nikki did such an amazing job keeping me guessing throughout the book. This book will keep you guessing from the start.
OMG. I devoured this book within 24 hours!! The long awaited second book in this series has all the plot twists and turns that i fell in love with in the first book!! Love, loyalty, family and a ever engaging plot will have you at the edge of your seat!! And the ending!!!!!
This books ticks all the boxes. A perfect ending to an amazing duet. It continues on right where wildcard ended and the hits just kept coming. I really love this world and the characters so much. I truly hated for it end, but sure hope we get to see more from a certain Spellcaster vampire judge….
