Оригінальний переклад казки про Попелюшку для нас зробила українська письменниця та перекладачка Мія Марченко. Шарль Перро написав цю історію в 1697 році. Це були часи правління короля-Сонця Людовика XIV, коли французький смак і мода підкорили Європу.

Нам хотілося, щоб класичний сюжет Попелюшки відкрився по-новому, показав моду та стиль епохи й занурив читачів в інший химерний світ. І саме цього нам вдалося досягти завдяки сучасному перекладу та незвичайних ілюстрацій Галі Зінько.

Художниця наповнила малюнки безліччю зразків побуту і стилю французького двору та знаковими марками й атрибутами art de vivre XXI століття. Кожна ілюстрація — окрема картина, яку хочеться неспішно вивчати та знаходити несподівані деталі. Малюнки буде цікаво розглядати й дітям, і батькам.

Наша «Попелюшка» особлива ще й тим, що містить елементи доповненої реальності й анімацію. Ілюстрації оживають, якщо навести на них камеру смартфона. Для цього не потрібно завантажувати додаток, достатньо скористатися спеціальним ефектом в Instagram.

About the author

Charles Perrault was a French author who laid foundations for a new literary genre, the fairy tale, and whose best known tales, offered as if they were pre-existing folk tales, include: Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Puss in Boots, Cinderella, Bluebeard, Hop o' My Thumb), Diamonds and Toads, Patient Griselda, The Ridiculous Wishes...

Perrault's most famous stories are still in print today and have been made into operas, ballets (e.g., Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty), plays, musicals, and films, both live-action and animation.

The Brothers Grimm retold their own versions of some of Perrault's fairy tales.

Li este livro para o projeto do DisneyInUs, que consiste em ver um filme da Disney por mês e ler o conto/livro que lhe deu origem. Os filmes são escolhidos à sorte e no mês de Maio calhou ver o Cinderela. O conto que deu origem a esse filme foi o Cinderela de Charles Perrault.

Ouvi o audiobook hoje e recordei-me todas as diferenças entre o que se conta e o original. Realmente era bem mais do que aquilo que é atualmente. O que me espanta é que ainda assim era contado daquela forma às crianças.

This has been an intriguing collection of Cinderella tales. I've very much enjoyed reading it and it has been quite useful in my Cinderella research. I love that the tales span different times and places. Some were straight up funky, and I mean funky. But others were really sweet or just interesting and a little different than the story we're used to. It had the big names like Perrault and Grimm, too, which was nice. It was a very well-rounded collection. It had versions that often reminded me of The Goose Girl or One Eye, Two Eyes, Three Eyes and then it had some that were unique and yet more that were kind of hard to see the Cinderella connection. All in all, I'm glad I bought it and will reference it in the future. Great little collection for any hardcore fairy tale fans.

Ілюстрації Галі Зінько роблять це коротке оповідання справжньою казкою, у яку, я – доросла готова вірити. Готова брати приклад, милуватись та щиро радіти цим цитринам від принца, хоч і всього лише намальованим.

This was fine. Seeing all of the different versions of this story was interesting, though sometimes rather repetitive. I enjoyed the essay at the end more than I expected to. Overall, a fairly average read, and not a book I think I will ever re-read.

This was a good story. A bit gory, but I was expecting that. The story is different from the Disney version but quite similar too. I was entertained throughout, the way this is written was fun to read.

I definitely like the movie versions better. There really isn't much to the book. This book has Charles Perrault and The Brothers Grimm version in it. I liked The Brothers Grimm version better.
