Celebrity Love in New Orleans #2

Starfully Yours: A Sweet Celebrity Rom-Com

Rate this book
I’m the only one who knows that movie star Luke Fisher is hiding out in New Orleans.
And somehow, he’s ended up living next door. After a scandal that broke the internet (and his nose), Hollywood heartthrob Luke Fisher escapes to New Orleans, hoping to disappear. The plan works—until Anna Amato, the feisty Italian writer next door, recognizes him.
Anna knows what it’s like to have your heartbreak make headlines. After her own breakup hit the news, she swore off love, fame, and men with PR teams. But behind Luke’s maddening charm and magazine-cover good looks, she finds someone vulnerable, sincere, and, annoyingly, really good at making her laugh.

When Anna agrees to help him stay hidden and discover the real New Orleans, the line between pretending and something true begins to blur.

He’s the movie star everyone wants.
She’s the only one who sees him clearly.

Get ready to feel all warm and gooey like a piece of king cake straight from the oven.
If you're looking for a sweet read, characters who feel real, flaws and all, and the HEA giving you the best contented sighs, don't hesitate to grab this book!

The FMC was born and raised in New Orleans, as was I. Loved the references, culture and true to life scene setting of one of my favorite places. Although at times, those references in conversations became a bit overkill. It wasn't a huge distraction from the plot though and even made me a lil homesick.

The story unfolded naturally for the FMC and MMC's relationship. Such a big turn off for me when the characters kiss once and are ridiculously in love so I appreciated the authentic progression and setbacks.

Anna's family reminded me of many of my own! I truly believe you can't beat the hospitality and warmth of people from South Louisiana (may be a bit biased) 😉

The author did an amazing job and I will be reading more from her Celebrity Love in New Orleans series in the near future!.

This is such a heartfelt story about dealing with heartbreaks, and finding a way to love again.

The setting -New Orleans- literally serves as a third character in this story as it provides the setting, the moments, the places for Luke and Anna to develop their relationship.

The book starts as Luke goes through a very public break up (he is a famous actor) and goes to New Orleans to hide from it all. He wants to disappear /remain anonymous that is until he runs into Anna, his next door neighbor who also wants anonimity, she has been in his place and somehow understands what he is going through. But talk about opposites, be ready for some banter! and how slowly it turns into heartfelt conversations that open them up to learning and understanding each other.

This book is a romantic read, in a sense that there is no insta love, instead the relationship grows as the book progresses. Katie Talbot infuses so much realism and humanity to the setting and characters that you feel transported and a part of the relationship. I highly recommend it!.

Thank you Katie Talbot for providing this ARC of Starfully Yours in exchange for my review.

This is my second book from Katie Talbot, and I was genuinely thrilled when I got the chance to request a copy. It did not disappoint.

Much like the book that Anna writes, eventually becoming a film (sorry for the mild spoiler), Starfully Yours feels like something that should be adapted for TV or film. I could see it all so vividly... the streets of New Orleans, the emotional highs and lows, the quiet, tender moments that make you ache a little. Can someone please make that happen?

The story made me swoon, laugh, and cry with sheer frustration, all while showing a different side of New Orleans to the one that I’ve only ever seen in tragic news stories. Now I genuinely want to visit and experience it the way Anna showed Luke (though perhaps without the vase-breaking or the need for security).

What really got me was how raw it all felt. There are honest, unflinching depictions of trauma and PTSD, showing how people cope, fight, flee or freeze... and how love can fit into that healing. The dual POV was perfectly balanced too; I felt everything from both sides.

It was emotional, immersive, and exactly the kind of escape I needed. Katie Talbot has a real talent for weaving heartfelt, character-driven stories, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.

Witty, Well-Written Rom-Com with Fabulous Depiction of Wonderful New Orleans

This book was so well written and the descriptions of the food, settings and atmosphere of New Orleans were so enticing that I am ready to book my trip. I also genuinely liked both Luke and Anna and could understand their feelings and motivations and their chemistry - ooh la la! The background characters (Marie Antoinette!) and Anna's family were a lot of fun and added to the culture and Anna's origins. Although the story often dealt with serious topics (Katrina, hiding from the press and paparazzi) they were handled with sensitivity and humor. I truly wanted Luke and Anna's HEA and that kept the pages turning. Technically the book is part of a series set in New Orleans but is easily read as a standalone - I can't wait for the next one - enjoy!

I was sent an ARC but the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

A fun sweet romcom about not letting fear drive your decisions. Such a fun ode to New Orleans the culture, the people, the city. It seems like it would be such a fun place to visit.

I wasn’t one hundred percent sold on the characters or their romance. It all just felt a little too easy without any hurdles and over the top cheesy. Also not a huge fan of third act break ups. The airport scene was cute.

Didn’t love the tarot cards aspect.

If you’re looking for a hea, no spice, sunshine with no bumbs this sweet romcom is for you.

I really liked Katie’s first book in this series Scandalously yours.

Thank you Katie for this arc. All opinions are my own.

Starfully Yours is a wonderful addition to the Celebrity Love in New Orleans series! I was completely captivated by Anna Amato and Luke Fisher's "enemies-to-lovers" story.

What truly made this book shine was how realistic the connection between the characters felt. Watching Luke and Anna navigate their relationship, including the struggles and the process of figuring things out, was incredibly engaging and relatable. The sweet romance and celebrity rom-com tropes were perfectly balanced with genuine emotional depth.

This is a clean, charming, and highly recommended book!.

loved it !! love this series !! love Luke and Anna... this is their story... a fun fast paced rom/com drama set in New Orleans... Luke's a star hiding in plain sight in New Orleans, after a scandal, at his friends house... Anna is an award winning author that can't seem to write another thing so, she works in a bar... then she ends up in the cottage on the same property as the same place that he's staying... yeah... and he makes her his personal tour guide... so funny !!!.

I loved Luke and Anna. I found it amusing that they couldn't stand each other. Their story was that much more enjoyable when they forgot why they couldn't stand each other and began falling for each other. I loved their story and set in New Orleans made this a very special story to me.

It wasn't that the plot was bad and I loved the tie in and love for New Orleans, but the pacing of this book was off from the start. That beingnsaid it was easy to put the book down and hard to want to repick it up. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

She did it again! This is the 2nd book in the Celebrity Love in New Orleans series and it was just as good as the first.

Luke is a movie star hiding out in his friend’s house (really a mansion) after some bad press. Anna is a writer who is nearing 100 rejections after her first award winning story in college. Anna ends up “saving” him when his cover is almost blown at the bar she works at.

When she ends up with a housing situation, Anna’s boss offers her the cottage on her son’s property (where one of his friends is currently staying in the main house).

Anna agrees to be Luke’s “tour guide” to help him prepare for a role he is trying to get. They do not get off to a good start but end up being just who the other one needs…

Some highlights:
- Hilarious disguises and accents
- Fancy technology mishaps
- Very honest nieces
- Airport scene
- Marie Antoinette
- Protective Luke 😍

I received an ARC of this novel and this is my honest opinion

Warm, witty, & full of heart... and just the right touch of southern charm.

A charming celebrity-meets-next-door rom-com that shines with humor, heart, and a touch of New Orleans magic.

Starfully Yours is one of those rom-coms that makes you smile from the very first page. It’s light and funny, but there’s also depth in the way Katie Talbot writes about connection, second chances, and finding courage to open your heart again. The New Orleans setting adds a perfect bit of charm... complete with porch swings, local flavor, and a sense of community that makes you wish you could move in next door.

Luke and Anna’s chemistry is instant but believable, full of sharp banter and those quiet moments that sneak up and make you melt. I loved that the story balances laugh-out-loud humor with tender emotion... never too much of either, just the right blend. It’s an uplifting, feel-good romance that leaves you genuinely rooting for love to win.

✨ I was lucky to read an advance copy—(It’s a 4.5/4.75-star read for me—but it feels better to round up than down.) Starfully Yours releases on November 18, and trust me, you’ll want this one on your TBR.
