Verlyn Gravelee, a spirit whisperer with a peculiar apparition alarm, craves a haunt-free life—fat chance. Inheriting Spooky Specters, her late grandma's ghost-hunting business, lands her a 1957 Chevy Nomad, a vintage trailer, and a scrappy Chihuahua pup bent on brawling the undeparted.
When unearthly mayhem shutters a Route 66 museum, the panicked owner begs Spooky Specters for help. Now Verlyn's steering the show, navigating her grandmother's spectral sass and her own testy abilities.
Oh, and solving a murder or two.
With a legendary two-lane highway, an eccentric entity-chasing crew, and one vengeful boss ghost, Verlyn must crack this case. Fail, and the museum's a poltergeist parking lot.
Ghost-hunting adventures meet haunted Americana on Route 66. Perfect for fans of retro rides, RV escapades, roadside attractions, and whodunits with a paranormal punch.
What a great beginning to what looks like a fantastic new series. The story is intriguing, easy to follow but also keeps you guessing - what’s gonna happen next. Verlyn is an engaging character that feels real. Her reaction to how she handles her new life is realistic. I will say the chapter at the Gillmart seemed a bit over the top but the rest of the story smoothed it out and made for an enjoyable read.
