Elfed Up This Christmas: A Cozy Holiday Rom-Com

Rate this book
When Ginger Tinsel finally gets her very first mission as one of Santa’s Helpers–an elite team of Elves
sent around the world to boost Christmas Spirit–it lands her in Everly Cove, Maine. Once famous for its
magical Christmas festival, the town is now a shadow of its former self, and the fate of Christmas may
depend on Ginger bringing back its sparkle.

Disguised as the new owner of the local coffee shop, Ginger sets out to uncover why Everly Cove’s
holiday cheer has vanished. But the closer she gets to the truth, the more time she finds herself spending
with the mayor’s infuriatingly handsome, perpetually grumpy son, Colby Jackson. With his smoldering
professor vibes and maddening banter, Ginger is breaking the biggest Elf rule in the no falling for
humans!

With Christmas Eve fast approaching, Ginger must navigate baking mishaps, mischievous furry friends,
an overbearing ex-girlfriend, snowball skirmishes, and a growing attraction to a man who might be colder
than the North Pole.

How far will Ginger go to save Christmas–and her own heart?

A swoon-worthy rom-com filled with holiday shenanigans, small town charm, family healing, and a
sprinkle of Christmas magic!

This was so adorable and so fun!!! Any story taking place in Maine is very close to my heart. Add in coffee, the magic of christmas, an adorable romance, and sparkling humor, I swoon!! I was seriously losing it laughing so hard during a particular snowball fight scene, drawing all the attention of the other parents in the ballet class waiting room. Worth it 🤣

The perfect christmas romcom! Funny, sweet, magical, and full of heart!

This was such a cute Christmas story, set in the most picturesque small town in Maine. As someone who goes full Buddy the Elf the second November hits 🤭, I loved the concept of bringing Christmas cheer back not just to an entire town, but to a family who had truly lost their holiday magic. It gave me all the cozy, warm-fuzzy feelings.🥺✨️

Tasked with restoring Christmas cheer to Everly Cove, elves Ginger and Isabella couldn’t be more different, and watching their contrasting personalities blend into a beautiful friendship was one of my favourite parts of the story. Ginger herself was outright hilarious with her clumsiness and her constant bickering with Gimli (her beloved, dramatic cat).

The meet-cute-turned-rivalry between Colby and Ginger had me giggling at their witty banter, and watching their relationship slowly bloom was as comforting as a hot cocoa on a winter’s day. But what really got me was Ginger helping Colby and his dad mend their relationship and navigate their grief. I definitely got a little choked up... because sometimes all we truly need is someone who can see past the practiced smiles and straight into the hurt we’re hiding.

I will say there was a small plot inconsistency or so, and I noticed the characters’ eye colours changing a few times, which pulled me out of the story here and there. A bit more editing would have smoothed that out nicely, but overall, it didn’t take away from the charm or enjoyment of the book.

If Hallmark meets Elf is your holiday vibe, then this one is definitely for you. 🎄✨

This book has all the perfect cosy Christmas vibes that I’ve needed! I really love how this rom-com has a lighthearted humorous feel to it, but also explores deeper themes like navigating grief and finding your place despite what the world tells you who to be. I was invested in every character on the page, each one having their own defined personalities that made me invested in their stories and lives. This is like the perfect hallmark Christmas movie that made me laugh out loud at points, but also feel so heavily for the characters.

This book was lovely cozy and had me wanting the sequel. Lauren baker does a great job of bringing this story to life I was a little late finishing it but it is 100 percent worth the read. Check out her other books.

It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. Very predictable. HEA ending. Elf/human relations. More rom com than spicy.
