This was all set to be a five star book with continuing the series and then the OP MC h, who is a teacher, FONDLES a beastkin student’s head and ears because FLUFFY and she CANT HELP HERSELF!!!

What the actual [insert LOTS of colorful language here]!?!?!?!

The power dynamic is HORRIBLE. She’s a TEACHER. She’s THE MOST POWERFUL spellcaster, easily handling ROYALTY AND the student who’s ears she is fondling, she BEAT him in a duel, he CLEARLY doesn’t want her to do it and he FLEES CRYING from her petting his ears WITHOUT PERMISSION.

And she did it after hunting him down when he was in a private area, with no one around. While thinking she needed to be calm like he was a feral cat, and after he escaped, she thought to herself “next time.”

GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT GARBAGE!!!

It’s NOT FUNNY. It’s DISTURBING.

If the genders were switched, this would NOT be tolerated, so why is it ok for a GROWN WOMAN to touch a TEENAGE BOY, wanted or otherwise?!?

1, this is repugnant and needs to stop it’s not a funny gag it makes me WANT to gag, star.

A Japanese female teacher is reincarnated in another world in a much younger body right at the doorsteps of a hermit sorcerer. After doing some growing up and being properly trained as a sorcerer she decides to start her life in this new world as a teacher at the best sorcerer academy on the continent, both since she loves teaching and a location to do research into magic and how to get back to Japan.

While at its core it is fairly typical isekai with an OP main character, it has its charming twists to the normal. Teaching isn't usually the job these characters pick, and for now the teaching aspect is done well. How she deals with bullying both by students and teachers is a bit over the top, and I am not sure it is very realistic, but it makes for entertaining scenes. The characters are fairly typical, although it appears some of the characters do grow. It is also very much a slice-of-life volume in that there doesn't appear to be an overarching plot which depending on the characters and world I don't mind.

All in all, a pretty entertaining read, nothing thought provoking or some such, but a solid popcorn read.

This was a mixed bag for me that I generally enjoyed but with a few caveats.

You won't find some of the expected isekai enjoyments here as the author basically speedruns what would have been the first volume or two of the story during the prologue. By Chapter 1, the MC is in her early 20's and has already mastered everything her hidden master of sorcery had to teach. So she has been sent to the continent's premier magic school to serve as an instructor for the opportunity to further her own research on magic.

It's a fairly unique path this story takes and the various obstacles are fun as the new instructor has to earn the respect of the students, many of them royalty from various factions, but also other instructors who don't believe someone can just walk off the street as a commoner and obtain a position as an upper-level instructor.

It was a nice change of pace to see so many of the obstacles be character interactions and it provided plenty of opportunity for haughty nobles and mid-skill mages to be put in their place as the new instructor demonstrates her prowess and her desire for school to ignore social stratifications.

The author unfortunately trips up and undermines the character multiple times for the sake of making a joke by having her basically molest a male student simply because his ears are fluffy or punch another student in the solar plexus because he wouldn't stop talking.

There is a degree of comedy to the scenes in the most generic sense, but it's probably not a good idea to undermine the foundations of the character in the process since these interactions fly in the face of everything she's touted as proper teacher-student behavior. Surely the author could have exercised better imagination and found other ways to create comedy. It would have been easy enough to pet the ears of a teacher rather than a student and avoid the loaded dynamic of a teacher giving unwanted physical touches to an underage student or, heaven forbid, just not molest another person at all and keep the MC's intrusive thoughts to herself.

Some light novel authors can't seem to help themselves when it comes to adding stuff like this. If you are a person who really dislikes that sort of thing, then unfortunately this book might shoot itself in the foot with regard to your enjoyment.

But if you can overlook some unfortunate lapses in judgement on the author for the sake of humor, you might have a decent time with a somewhat laid-back isekai as a teacher rather than a hero story.
