A new Prophet threatens all Max has built as old enemies resurface, shattering a fragile peace, in the final installment of this SF romantasy series.

Max and her partner, Nash, have built a thriving kingdom in the Valley where Max first defeated the Prophet nine years ago. She knows peace in the Skia Hellig Peninsula is never permanent, but she’s determined to secure a prosperous future for her people and her family, including her four-month-old son, Finn, and Nash’s thirteen-year-old daughter, Elsie.

It’s been eight years since a mysterious stranger promised Max’s death if she defied the natural order of the gods, and she’s no closer to knowing how to defeat him or the overlords he serves. Meanwhile, neighboring Prophet Theus of the Flatlands continues to foment rumblings of war, and Max is haunted by nightmares of the tyranny of Eskel the Ruthless and her death at the hands of Dr. Henderson.

Then, at a diplomatic summit, a foreign Prophet named Malach arrives, threatening to destroy Max and every kingdom on the peninsula. With foes on every side, Skia Hellig must unite to defeat its greatest threat yet—but its kingdoms seem perfectly content to let Max fight the deadly war herself. As if all that weren’t enough, the cult that once allied with Theus is still about, and its connection to Dr. Henderson may not be as dead as it seemed . . .

What an absolutely incredible, exhilarating ride. 🔥⚔️
If you thought books one and two were good, Lindsay French holds nothing back in book three. Everlight feels like her war cry to the world, raw, fierce, and unflinching and it echoes straight into the marrow of your bones. You can feel how deeply the author cares about the current state of the world, and that conviction bleeds into every chapter, every battle, every devastating choice.

Everlight is heart-wrenching, breath-stealing, and utterly captivating from the very first page, leaving you reeling in the best possible way. I adored seeing a more family-oriented side of Max without ever dulling her warrior edge, and as usual the banter between Max and Nash was top notch! But the true standout for me was Elsie. Watching her grow from the sweet little girl we met in book one into an empowered woman finding her voice, strength, and sense of self in a war-torn realm was everything. 😍🥺

I’ve always said that Lindsay writes battle scenes that could put Sparta to shame, and somehow she levels up even further here.😱 The action is cinematic, visceral, and so vividly written that I found myself gasping, holding my breath, and side-eyeing imaginary cameras like someone else had to be seeing the movie playing in my head! (Seriously, someone give this woman a movie deal because this is cinematic gold! 😧😍) Some scenes wrecked me so completely I had to stop reading just to regain a shred of emotional stability. Absolute devastation.😭

This finale delivers everything! The tension, the drama, the love, the family, the loss. I laughed, I cried, I feared relentlessly for these characters’ lives while silently waging war on the author in my head, demanding she bring them back immediately. Every single feeling was felt and will be felt long after.

A massive thank you to Lindsay French and her PA for having me on the ARC team from the very first book to the final chapter. This journey has been unforgettable, and these characters and this world will live in my heart forever. 🖤📖🔥

This science fiction romantasy had everything a no spice reader would enjoy! There was a love that transcends time, bloody battles, high stakes, witty banter, shocking twists, descriptive world building, and strong family bonds. I loved being back in Max and Nash's story, even though it was the finale. I was so emotional over half of the book that there were times I had to put it down to compose myself. This series has been an amazing journey that I highly recommend!
Eight years have passed with peace, until Prophet Malach threatens war. As Max, Nash, and their advisors prepare to fight they're ambushed by powerful poisonous weapons. When an enemy from the past gives them earth-shattering information and promises to help they must decide whether or not to trust her. Seeking the truth from the Collective, Max confronts them and asks for their wrongs to be righted. All the while a disgruntled warrior threatens Max and everything she's accomplished for the kingdom. As the war rages, all of Skia Hellig must unite to defeat their most powerful enemy. When the truth comes to light how will they handle it? When Nash makes an offer for peace, how will Max survive?

I received this book as an ARC and I am so happy and honoured for this

Everlight book rate: 5 ⭐️

Max is back, back again with Nash (our cinnamon roll) for the last war, the last fight.

Just like the other 2 books, the fights are EPIC, and our characters go against all odds (and Gods) to succeed and save their people. The plot twists again broke me! I could have never seen some of them and this is one of the reasons I give it a 5 ⭐️ rating.

Lindsay as always uses her pen amazingly and travels through time and lives and many outcomes. You have to read this series. There were moments where my heart could literally jump out of my chest. This series is everything a fantasy reader can ask for. It has sci-fi elements, time travel magic, and family bonds that go beyond time. Now that it is finished, you have no reason not to read it!

P.S. Elsie remains my favorite character in the entire trilogy!

Tropes:

Epic Bloody battles
Soul-tied warriors
Deep characterization
Evil gods
Time Magic
Sci-fi mixed with fantasy
Mental health rep
Mindbending twists
Angst!!!

Thankyou so much Lindsay for letting me arc read this epic conclusion to the Everlight trilogy.

This book is a rollercoaster of emotions. It hits so much harder than the first 2 books and is a stunning conclusion to the trilogy. We see the ups and downs of each character’s life; joy, sadness, grief, hope, fighting back. It really hits you in all the feels. There are so many epic gritty battles, soppy and cute scenes between our Max and Nash as well as seeing Elise and Finn grow throughout the story.

I did keep a crying counter as one does with an epic book like this:
I cried 4 times (2 small cried, 2 sobs- iykyk)
I did also have 1 happy cry (you’ll discover why if you’ve read the books).

I cannot emphasise enough at how well Lindsay writes these books. Every villain, essential character and side character is written so well integrating into the story and the essential plot of the book.

It’s my favourite book in this trilogy. Thankyou Lindsay for writing such a good book! 📚

Thank you to Lindsay French for providing me with a copy of the book. I am excited to leave a review.

Everlight is the third and final book in the Eclipse series and follows Max and Nash 8 years after the events in World Shifter.

Max continues to be as fierce as she was in the beginning of the series and is perfectly complemented by Nash as they lead the country and acclimate to parenting another child. Nash is the perfect blend of fierce warrior and soft-hearted dad and husband. I also loved seeing how Elsie has developed since the last book and is a force to be reckoned with in her own right.

The plot is beautifully written and the plot twists literally kept me on my toes. I am sad to see this series end but look forward to revisiting it in the future.
