Alleria was just a simple, sexually legal orphan bear huntress girl from the Idiot Farmer Realm, forced to take care of her thirteen younger sisters after her parents tragically died in a cart accident. But one fateful day she chases a bear through the archway of Not-Like-Other-Girls and ends up transported to the Faerie realm, only to be tried for her crimes of being there when she's not supposed to. Her punishment? She must become the fiancée-captive of the brooding and mysterious 400,000 year old Prince Darkeyes Sixpack. But he has a dark, secret, definitely sexy and not toxic past, and his hatred for her can't be contained, least of all when they are forced to be together in the One Bed Trope Inn. Despite their hatred for each other and Alleria's youthful, plain-yet-incredibly-sexy tiny bird body, this 399,982 year age gap will do nothing to stop the passion welling up deep inside them, and the dangers they face as the dark secrets hidden in the Faerie realm come to light.

You've read the books, you know the tropes, now get ready to get thrown into the fryer laughing until you can't breathe, all the while finding unexpected joy and meaning in this whimsical spicy fantasy tale that aims to give you a newfound love and appreciation of life, romance, and everything. After all, what's life all about if we can't laugh at ourselves and learn to love and appreciate this messy chaotic world we have, faerie or otherwise?

I’m dead.

If this book was a horror movie, it would be Scary Movie. The horrible puns, the hilarious real-world references. Prince Darkeyes Sixpack. The not-quite-copyright-infringement. I loved all of it. It made me laugh out loud in the midst of my backward seasonal depression at a time when the whole world is on fire. This novel was much needed and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I tried. I REALLY tried to like this novel.

It soon became a chore to continue to read on until the end. The author told a "funny once" joke as a plot and continued to tell that same joke over and over and over again, page after tedious page. And it wasn't even a particularly enjoyable or memorable joke to begin with! The "humour" (And I'm being generous here...) was firmly entrenched in the pubescent boy stage of development, barely rising above the level of fart and poop jokes. All in all, a marvelous disappointment.

This book was really fun to read. I was laughing out loud at the titles of chapters, the character names, as well as the actual story. The only reason that I took a star off is because I could only read a few chapters at a time. Sometimes, the satire was a little too much for me personally, in the sense that I couldn’t binge the book. Still incredibly entertaining!

DNF

I initially started this book thinking it would be a fun, easy read. I was mistaken. I stopped reading it a few days ago and cannot seem to bring myself to continue. Whatever humor might be found in this book is simply not my taste whatsoever.

I had to DNF unfortunately, I thought it was humorous at first and then it was just silly boy humor that wasn’t as funny since the same jokes were used over and over.

3.25 for this hilarious ride.
For those reviews saying there is no spice. There were 2 open door scenes, along with an on-page description of 2 scenes the character watched. As for the writing style, yes it very much reads like a bored teen took every trope in the Romantasy Genre and put it into a 350pg book. And it was great!
If you can read a book that doesn't take itself too seriously, and an author who isn't afraid to be honest in his writing. This one is for you. Evan took every possible trope and turned it on its head or made fun of it in the most obvious way. I loved Miss Backstory and the wisdom of her Grandfather Plot Armor.
The scenes where 'plot holes' pop up are hilarious and right on the nose. That bear-hunting strength failing right at the perfect moment was excellent.
THIS IS SATIRE!! If you go in expecting this to be a serious book, you will be disappointed.
The sad thing about this whole thing. There was still a plot under all the nonsense...and to be honest, a slightly better plot than some of the books it made fun of. Well done Evan.

Had some funny moments at the beginning, but far fewer as it went on. All of the character names are very on the nose and ridiculous, everyone's hot and horny for the sake of it. The same joke is told approximately every other paragraph and your eyes just sorta start glazing over the text naturally. Most of the jokes are fart jokes, about body parts, or a reference to a celebrity/franchise.

Its mostly pulling from A Court of Thorns and Roses for the 1st and 3rd acts, and Fourth Wing for the second. Some valid criticisms of the genre tropes and those books are present, but it feels like the author just watched a rant review of the books and based it entirely on those.

Overall, this is a book I read, it kept me mildly entertained for the night but I would not reach for it again or recommend it to anyone. It has left me curious about the authors other works because despite everything I've said, I kind of like his writing style.

This book was fun, but definitely not for people who can't take a joke, take themselves and the things they enjoy way too seriously, or can't laugh at themselves. I would say the humor had me more facepalming and snickering rather than rolling on the floor in stitches, and after a while, it got a bit redundant. The novelty of it just wore off. I think I had more fun seeing all the characters from all the popular romantacy books in one story and how they interacted. This book absolutely recognized all of the quirky things about romantasy tropes we all tend to scratch our heads over, and it 100% recognizes the fatigue some have with the genre. I think, going forward, I will be wondering how the author would characterize any characters I come across within the genre in the future. Hope there is a sequel!

So this book took me about two months to read because it’s demented and I had to put it down and then pick it back up to make sure I read what I read and then put it back down again. But I’m still giving it four stars because I’m slightly demented. It is ridiculous and over the top and even though parts of it drove me absolute batty, I actually really like the stupid book. There were moments that had me cackling and other moments that had been rolling my eyes so far back I’m pretty sure I physically damaged something. But in all of its absurdity is a really predictable, but still entertaining story.

This has me rolling with laughter, groaning in embarrassment, and kicking my feet in giddiness. This is a work of pure, unadulterated love and you can tell. Evan Pickering wrote a book that, yes, pokes fun at the little tropes of the romantasy genre, but not in a demeaning way. This book has an engaging plot, powerful (or perfectly weak) characters, and expertly-timed comedy. Even better, an author with passion for his art that shines through what he does. I can’t express how much this book deserves to be read!!!!

Linguistically inventive and relentlessly hilarious.

I could not stop cackling the entire time. The minute you think, "he couldn't possibly come up with another new sentence the world has never seen," you are immediately proven wrong in the most unhinged possible way. And in the end, our characature of a heroine breasted boobily to a genuinely meaningful conclusion. This is easily a new favorite.

I had to DNF this unfortunately. It is too immature for my taste. There is no humor at all like others are referring too. There is absolutely no spice which I figured given the title it would be Fae, magic and actual intimacy. I got to Chapter 13 . The wording and plot is just very confusing and hard to follow. Very disappointing it’s like it was written by a boy not a grown man.

A laugh out loud perfect read

This book is absolutely perfect if you're looking for a lighthearted read to provide a good laugh and a much-needed break from heavier or more serious material. It's the ideal choice for a relaxing and enjoyable summer read.

Fairy Court Dragon Sex Magic

Wow what a wonderful weird story. If you like that forth wall broken every once in awhile and current Hollywood names thrown into a magical medieval sex romp then this is a story for you. Looking forward to the next adventure.

Satire at its finest

Absolutely loved this book. Took my time enjoying the adventure it took me on. I laughed, may have peed a little, & laughed some more. Worth the read & can't wait to go on more adventures.

DNF. 31 pages in and not seeing any "humor" that others rave about. I like satire, I like irony, I like books that poke fun. This one just seems to bash you in the face repeatedly how stupid the author finds the romantasy genre and all those who read it.

Coming of Age story about a plain but hot peasant girl with main character vibes. She is different than the other girls, she is worse.

10000 stars. If you enjoyed My Immortal, you'll love this too. The movie adaptation needs to be directed by Taika Waititi and the MMC should be played by Chris Hemsworth in a terrible wig.

There is so much truth in this quirky story. Hilarious and far fetched. I was vested to finish the adventure.
