For plain little Nina, working as a maid in the house of Count Mirkwood is her whole world—until a false accusation has her swept out on the streets. Jobless and with nowhere left to turn, Nina decides to set out on her very first solo journey. But Nina isn’t just any maid—she’s a supermaid! Her talents quickly prove indispensable to the people she meets during her travels. There’s Emily, a mage who can’t use magic; Astrid, a brilliant inventor whose experiments never quite work; and Tien, an orphan who can’t seem to keep a meal down. Meanwhile, back at the Mirkwood household, things go awry in Nina’s absence...
None of them realize it yet, but Nina might just be the answer they’ve all been searching for. Because when this supermaid is on the job, no mess can stand in her way!
A teenage maid, Nina, is excellent at her job, always in the background as a good maid should do. Few in the household realize how much work she does even though some very knowledgeable people visit the manor just for her. So when she is framed for the destruction of an expensive vase, she is fired, and decides to travel instead of fighting for her position. Something the household quickly regrets, while Nina gets to see the world and collect a few young women (an isekaied mage, an inventor and a wolf-girl) along the way whom she helped and decided to stick around to return the favor.
It is a fairly typical fantasy travel story, the kind where the protagonist helps people along the way. The characters are fairly straightforward, the world not too original and the plot simple. Still it was a fun palette cleanser of a kind I personally like well enough. It has enough hooks to keep me intrigued, most notably the MC's odd upbringing, and I am curious were it is going. So, an entertaining simple read that more or less fitted expectations.
