Angelique Trying to start over in a post-invasion world while running from a controlling ex has landed me alone in the woods. Be an off-grid outdoor school instructor. Meet some kid-friendly dudes. Make some friends. It’ll be fun. Except it has been an absolute disaster.
The pranks and teasing of my nerd self were just the beginning of this coworker bondingpre-season campout from hell. The entire hike up the mountain, I pick up signs of enemy aliens in the woods around camp. No one believes me. But I know we're in trouble.
Since Earth joined the Milky Way Cosmic Guardians, we’ve been targeted by every enemy alien species in the galaxy. They want to trade for our ore, medicines, military supplies, and women. Our enemies want control of everything.
Alien soldiers ambush our campsite through portals. The commotion sends me tumbling down the mountainside. I’m soon lost in the forest without survival gear, running for my life from an alien enemy when I face-plant into the chest of a hulking blue male with an axe burning so hot I can hear the flames shuddering like my heart. His cohort laughs at the one tool I have left. It's more for pleasure than pain, but it's all I could find.
The beastly axe wielder pulls me behind the shield of his rippling body and confronts the enemy with the blinding fire of his blade. He doesn't want to hurt me, but the way his eyes burn into me, I know he wants something else. I watch him fight to protect me and discover a new kind of lust...for an alien three times my size. I must be losing my mind. But I'm open to paying his price if it means he can get me out of here in one piece.
O'xorsin I'm so tired of fighting battle after battle with no reason to survive other than to put the enemy back in their place. Protecting my kind and our alliance with the other planets is one thing. But my rage grows more uncontrollable the longer I endure this life without a mate to soothe my urges.
The Zevyrlon are a greedy, egocentric species. Centuries of battle with them have taught us their patterns, impulses, and motives. They will always have the advantage of speed and a neural network we can't hack. If we Sha'kanin do not perfectly predict their next moves, we often struggle to catch up. But when we do, we make sure we remind them of the cold, dark place where they belong.
We did not anticipate them returning to Earth so soon after the initial invasion. They captured an entire community of humans, and by our calculations, should have satisfied their lust for a few more years. Word reaches my team, and we're tasked with neutralizing the enemy soldiers and determining why they've returned.
We take the fastest transport to the campsite and step out into utter mayhem. The Zevyrlon have captured all humans except one female, who crashes into me as she flees their weapons' fire. Her body is soft with luscious curves uncommon to Sha'kanin females. But it's the determination in her eyes, the way she fights when she has no weapons, that heats my mating core.
I'm not the only one who has eyes on her. I must rid the planet of the Zevyrlon scum and her devious ex before I can have her all to myself. I'll sacrifice whatever I have to, if it means keeping her by my side, including, but not limited to, my life.
A steamy, fast-paced science fiction romance with action, violence, and cursing.
Anywhere but Here (Series in progress) Take Me Away, Alien Reaper, #1 Take Me Away, Alien Mercenary, #2 Take Me Away, Alien Reject, #3 Take Me Away, Alien Warlord, #4 Take Me Away, Alien Beast, #5 Tak
The first in a new series, this book had lots of action and scorching intimate scenes between human Angelique and alien reaper warrior O’Xorsin. Angelique is the only member of her family to have survived a horr!f!c abduction and br33ding experiments. Having grown up in foster care, she’s shunned by the genetically altered humans now inhabiting earth due to her “only” human status. However, it’s clear she’s more than meets the eye when the aliens who destroyed her family return for her in the present day.
When O’Xorsin meets Angelique, he instantly knows she’s his Mate and will do anything to protect her, even at the cost of his own life. As they race to outwit their relentless pursuers, he helps Angelique first evade then determine how to stop their foes.
As always, Sybur Phyre has depicted a FMC with major reserves of inner strength, and a MMC who’s devoted to her above all else. This is a wonderful start to a new series, and I look forward to the books to come. I was furnished an advance reader copy from the author and bookfunnel, and I’m pleased to share my honest review.
A new series to start with one of my new favorite authors! This one centers around Angelique, a survivor of alien abduction. She was only 8 years old when a vicious race of aliens landed on Earth and abducted women while killing the men. Her life has been one of merely existing and survivor's guilt since then. When those very same aliens return to Earth, she is terrified, knowing they are coming back for her. Meanwhile, we have another set of aliens, a group of galactic protectors, tasked with stopping the evil aliens and on their way to Earth. Our hero is Razor, a huge alien with a beastly side that he tries to keep contained (that's where the Reaper comes in). Finding Angelique ignites something inside of him that he has never had to deal with before. Their 1st meeting was hilarious because Angelique was being chased by the evil aliens, and all she had was her purple buzzing "toy". I don't want to give the story away so you will have to read this exciting new series starter to find out what happens. Lots of action, subplots, and revelations are in store for you. I received an ARC, but my review is voluntary.
Angelique was 8 years old when an alien species called Zevyrlons invaded Earth, abducting the women and killing all the men. She escaped the alien ship and was in foster care, but she knew the aliens would be back for her. She worked as an off-grid school instructor on earth, but it was a disaster and no one wanted to be her friend. While out in the field the Zevs portalled down to earth to abduct more humans. Angelique ran and avoided being captured when another alien race rescued her.
When O'xirsin meets Angelique, he immediately knows she is his mate and it is his mission to protect her from the Zevs, who only want the female bodies to breed their species. Once the newly Zev young emerges the human host body dies. I will not tell you anymore, so I don't spoil what happens to our hero and heroine!
This is the first book in this exciting new series. It is a steamy, fast paced sci-fi romance with action, violence and cursing, and I can not wait to read the next one.
I received an ARC copy from the author and voluntarily leave this review.
What a great start to a new series by Sybur! Angelique was abducted alone with her mother and two sisters when she was eight by the Zevyrlon. She managed to escape from their ship, a feat no one had ever done before, and was raised in foster care. Twenty years later her worst fear comes true. The Zev return for her and any other females they can kidnap. But this time she is saved by a huge alien warrior!
O’xorsin is a Shaikanin, trained his whole life to be a “reaper” and to fight in the never-ending war against the Zevyrlon. He has become worn down by the never-ending death and hopelessness of never being able to conquer the Zev. But the second he catches Angel’s scent, he knows she is his mate and he will do anything to keep her safe. But when they learn that she has been on a Zev ship and escaped, she may just hold the key to their defeat. All he has to do is keep her alive long enough to for them to form a plan.
A great book with lots of action and twists and turns! Don’t miss it!
I have a feeling this is going to be my favorite series from Sybur Phyre. The story of O’xorsin and Angelique is great. It has everything you could ask for in an awesome sci-fi romance: besides the obvious aliens/spaceships/intergalactic wars/etc, we have well-fleshed characters, great interpersonal relationships, redemption for someone I can see as a future MMC, fantastic descriptions of multiple worlds, cool alien weaponry, and, getting back to the well-fleshed characters, the spicy times and hyper awareness between O’xorsin and Angelique, is sexy as heck.

Angel has been running for as long as she can remember. She’s a survivor who is about to face all the things she hasn’t wanted to talk about, thanks to a warrior who gives her the incredible gift of shelter and feeling safe.
Razor is out of balance. He isn’t coming apart at the seams, yet, but members of his team are worried. He excels at his mission, but his life needs something more.
This book is a roller coaster ride in all the best ways. With fun twists and turns that keep the story moving, some genuine emotional moments, and several characters who praise humanity for what we have given the universe and individuals in a manner that reminds the reader we have more to offer than we often realize or acknowledge.
I came out of this story eager for another adventure in the series.
This story is dual POV, well written, and a fast-paced, adventurous, female human alien invasion survivor (Angelique)/male (different species) alien warrior (O’xorsin), under pressure, fated mates, sci fi romance. I enjoyed Angelique’s resilience, perseverance, and focus on paying forward kindness. I enjoyed O’xorsin’s shock at finding himself drawn to Angelique, and the focus and respite that his interest brought his mental state. I enjoyed the complex non-romance plot, including the world building and the setup for future stories. I enjoyed Angelique’s active participation in executing plans. I enjoyed the secondary characters.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
"The moment I caught your scent, my life’s purpose, all of this training, these years of fighting and wondering why I was born into such a place collided.”
The 1st in the Anywhere but here series and started with a blast. A rich, imaginative and descriptive universe with complex and loveable characters that hooked me right from the first word to the perfect ending (for now). Not even going to summarize the plot because you really have to read it. Add to that a never-ending of action, evil aliens that prey on females for incubation and the masterfull touch of Sybur Phyre. Loved it and can't wait to see what's coming!
Sybur Phyre's Take Me Away, Alien Reaper is a wonderful alien scifi romance. Angelique, though an adult, is bullied by the other humans that are setting up a wilderness camp. She had survived the hive aliens and has never fit in since. Suddenly they care attacked by the hive again, and she escapes off the mountainside, avoiding the enemy that has tracked her down as the only human female that has ever escaped them. Enter O'Xorsin, of the alien orphan clan who saves her and discovers she is his one true love. Navigate with these two ass kickers as they free the universe from the hive for the first time!
This is the first book I have read by this author in this new series, but I am looking forward to reading more. I found this to be an original and intriguing concept.
The characters have depth and their back stories make them relatable. Angel is a strong woman who has overcome much to escape the aliens who took her and her mother and sister captive. When Razor rescues her, he is the first to show her respect and value her.
The world building is so detailed, I found it easy to picture the various worlds and ships they visited. There are many supporting characters and I hope that future books share their stories of meeting their mates.
Loved this story. A great start to a new series. It's a well-paced, steamy, action-filled, alien romance story that captivated me. I'd loved our characters: a battle-weary soldier, O'xorsin/Razor of the Cosmic Guardians federation and a gutsy nerdy counselor, Angelique who joined to work for an outdoor camp was an escapee of an abduction by the Zevyrlons are thrown together when the Zevyrlon attack the campsite. Their journey as they evade being caught in this fated mate story was an entertaining read, and I'd volunteer to review this copy I'd received.
A human female was able to escape from a hive ship after watching what the aliens do to females. Her saving grace was that she was too young to be breed. Back on earth she is working as a camp counselor when she hears the motor of an alien ship. She runs to get away and ends up tumbling down a hill side. She meets a different alien male warrior who only wants to help keep her safe. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to everyone. Happy reading!
No no no no. Non ci siamo.
Take Me Away: Alien Reaper is a refreshing twist on alien romance—this time, the heroine is a willing participant! Strong FMC, protective alpha MMC, fated mates, forced proximity, and instant attraction all lead to a satisfying HEA. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting.
Big fan of Sybur Phyre’s style—already excited for the next book!
I received an advance review copy for free from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fun new series. I enjoy this author's fast paced writing (although occasionally I feel like I missed something), and the way her characters don't usually fight the romance happening. They have concerns and past trauma to deal with but they just don't waste a lot of energy (and pages) denying what is happening between them.
My favorite line, “He’s my brother from another motherworld.”
A really good action -packed alien romance. Razor saves Angel from an alien species killing men and taking females to lay their eggs in. Angel escaped them as a child but they are now hunting her. Razor portals them to different planets and realizes she is his mate. Their HEA has all the elements for a must-read.
My first read by Sybur Phyre. I love the sci-fi romance genre. Where else are you going to get vast dimensional issues focused on small world people? Common enemies, personal traumas, survivor guilt, the need for redemption - all of these tropes enveloped by the desire for connection to the one who is perfect for you.
Rollicking adventure in sci-fi future This is book 1 in what promises to be a thrilling action-packed adventure to save the known galaxies. Wonderful originality, great characters, good world-building. I believe this series has great potential, and I am looking forward to reading more. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily leave this honest review.
Ms. Phyre has written another fast moving, exciting and sizzling hit. I love this new world and how the female main characters are decisive and brave. They don't just let stuff happen to them, they do things about it. Paragraphs of inner monologue is boring. My name is Veronica. And I am on my way to devour book 2 in this series. Bye
I absolutely loved this book, it's well written and the interchange between the characters is great. I can't wait to see what happens next. I received this book as a ARC copy and I voluntarily leave this review.
Nope..I couldn't read it. I don't need a list of characters or instructions on words and the story. If you can't world build and make me believe it then nope. There are more books out there for me to read. so I pass on ones that don't build and entertain me.
Great read! Excellent world building and fast paced action
Excellent book. Loved the heroine and hero. Nice sci-fi. Filled not only with action but great morals, purpose and romance. I totally enjoyed this book and read down to the last word.
A really strong story line and a lovely light style of writing, even in the darker parts of the narrative. I found myself losing time while reading this story.
A common enemy brings multiple species together in this sci-fi space drama. Politics and ignorance holds humans back from defending the planet from the threat. The FMC is the key to everything.
Great alien romance. Wonderfully written characters. You want to keep reading straight from beginning to end. Love that some characters can change learn to except all life matters.
