Shay has found the man of her dreams, her heart and her soul. Cam is kind, generous, supportive and deeply in love with his new bride. Being a military wife is never easy, especially when Cam has to go on a mission he cannot talk about. Not quite fitting in with the other wives, Shay finds herself isolated and alone as her writing career deadline looms overhead, can her latest novel keep her busy in the lonely hours until Cam returns? Above all else he always promises to return, and he would never break his promise to Shay...

If Fractured by Alexis Noelle doesn’t get a chokehold on your heart and soul, nothing will. She has written about love and undying devotion, about two people who have found their perfect mate and the uncertainties of life as a soldier and the woman he loves. With a touch of attitude and humor, fear and uncertainty, Ms. Noelle will strike a chord that will be resonating through your mind for days after reading. Beautiful, heartfelt and so very realistic, even the sizzle of passion feels romantic and dreamlike! I was touched, moved and enthralled by this brief, but intense tale of true love.

I received this ARC edition in exchange for my honest review.

4 "When Everything Changes" Stars! Volume 1 of Fractured is a short and sweet serial that can easily be read in one sitting. I got the feeling that this first part is really just the prologue (ie, setting the scene for what's to come). As all serials do, this one ends in a huge cliffhanger, so you must be prepared to read all 3 volumes in order to get the full story.

Shay and Cam have the perfect fairy tale relationship. They are high school sweethearts who marry young. Volume 1 commences shortly after they get married.

Cam was the high school football star, who at one time was destined for the NFL, but had his football career cut short by a concussion. So instead he enlisted with the military.

Shay is so in love with Cam, that even though she dreads the idea of signing up to be a military wife, she undertakes the roll with open arms given its a small price to pay for their unique blend of a happy relationship.

They are just settling in as newlyweds, into their new house and new life, when fate deals them a terrible blow changing everything.

All in all, volume 1 was a good start. I'm pretty sure I know what the fate changing event is, and am hopeful that I have also figured out how Shay's life will be slowly resurrected. I can't wait to read Volume 2 to see if my suspicions are right!

Although this is a really short read I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Shay and Cam are newly married. They are just starting their new life as a married couple when they receive a phone call that changes everything.

This is a beautiful heartfelt start to their story. It really tugged at my heart. That ending has me wanting more asap. Great read.

Wow, I'm not sure even how to start this review. This is the story of newlyweds Cam and Shay. I fell in love with them from the start. They just returned from their honeymoon and are blissfully happy in their new home. Shay is an author who is currently struggling with her book. Cam is in the military and has just found out he is being deployed for a rescue mission. The anxiety you feel between these two as they count down the days until he leaves is palpable.

I loved meeting the members of Cam's military family! The men are like brothers, but the wives are a problem for Shay since she feels she doesn't fit in.

I grab the bottle opener from the counter and pop the top off, containing my laughter as it hits her leg. I am so over living by the rules that were set forth before I even showed up. I raise the beer to my lips, taking a few long gulps before lowering it. Carries looks like she might actually burst. Now that Cam and I are married, I need to stop trying to fit in and start being me, not that having a beer should be that big of an offense. As I walk past the rest of the mafia, I can hear the audible gasps at my blatant disregard of the wife code.

As their deployment time arrives, my heart was in my throat. I honestly don't know how difficult it must be for military families who have to deal with deployment.

"When I'm away, this is the moment I'm going to think of. Being here with you, no bullsh*t, no boundaries, just the two of us. I am going to miss you with every damn inch of me, Shay. I know that you'll be okay though, as much as you think you can't handle it.

And the cliffhanger ending tore my heart out! I can't get my hands on book 2 soon enough.

My Review:

This novella reads like a personal diary or a letter from a friend. It is written in a casual and relaxed manner in common vernacular, and without pretense. I found it refreshing and a bit perplexing. Refreshing - because I am enjoying the story, realism, and honesty of the young bride who is struggling with stressful and unexpected events. Perplexing – as a reviewer, I am undecided on how to rate the caliber and quality of the writing. I have decided to go with a compromise and met in the middle. Of great importance to an old cougar and smut monger like me, Ms. Noelle does a good job with the sensual scenes – nice and steamy! I am also enjoying the humor, banter, bold honesty, and the confessional vibe as she works through her observations, concerns, inner musings and feelings. She has quite a bit going on in her head and has silently nicknamed the other military wives as the “military mafia” and is personally annoyed and frustrated with their “wife code,” which appears to be an old fashioned 1950s notion of how “good wives” should act. While it seems outdated and antiquated in comparison to our current society at large, I am aware that this snobbery and stuffiness is still the common expectation of many a military social set.

* * * * * 5 Star Review

Cam and Shay Wilson are newly weds, they are just back from their vacation/wedding/honeymoon and settling down in their new home. Cam received a phone call that will change everything, he is being deployed on a rescue mission and he only has seven days before he must leave.

Shay knew that is the life of an Army wife, yet she must keep her disappointed to herself since she must show Cam she can be strong for him. She will be busy since she is on a dateline on publishing her second book and this will keep her mind occupied while Cam is away.

It has been a couple of days and Shay hasn't heard from Cam but she's hopping he'll call her so she can share her good news. Shay has been glued to her computer all day when her doorbell rings she opened the door and finds this beautiful flower arrangement she knows their from her husband. When she places the flowers on the window seal she notice a black SUV parked outside her house and her doorbell rings she knows what that is all about and she won't open the door.

What will the news Shay receives will do to her future? Will this be the end of Cam and Shay Wilson?

I can't wait to find out how this story develops. This is a fast read novella. I love how is packed with so much emotions and you will be able to feel them as you read the story.

I recommend for you to read it.

Shay Wilson has just gotten married to her high school sweetheart Cam, the former quarterback and life is going perfect, well at least for the first couple of hours since returning from their wedding/honeymoon. Then she receives the news that in a week Cam will be deployed back to Afghanistan on a rescue mission.

This novella is all centred around the week before he is deployed and lets you see inside their relationship and also into her world, as a writer with a deadline! I love these two as characters as their devotion to each other is huge and the worry of being a military wife. It describes the feeling of being an outsider when you are new to being a military wife and the worries that you face with not having other family around and not being seen as the perfect wife.

With Shay's second novel's deadline approaching will she be able to get it done on time and have reason to celebrate??

Yes this is a great start to a new serial , I am hooked and was hooked from the start. I have no clue how anyone can handle being a military wife , parent or sibling , wow I have not had the experience and out of the few books I have read like this I have been heartbroken and full of anxiety for these couples and families. Such a brave choice on both parts. I really do have a great respect for it and will admit I would never be strong enough. Having said all that....

Shay and Cam are newlyweds after a whirlwind trip !! Now home we get the story through Shay of their lives in the real world. Shay is a writer , actually in a slump trying to meet a deadline, Cam is in the military and has sadly just been informed of his upcoming deployment. Living in the military community we get to meet the other guys and wives which gave this book a comical piece which was much needed to go with the heavy !! OMG Shay is my kind of girl , and how she puts up with these other wives is beyond me !! I loved the day she joined the guys on the couch , that was priceless !! Shay and Cam definitely have a great relationship and super hot chemistry. This is a troubling time for them both hating to be away and always the heavy weight on their shoulders of things that could go wrong. Cam has to work extra long hours the week before his deployment and it may push Shay out of her writing slump but it also has emotions on high. I have a few ideas of how things can go but of course I am slow to the game most times !! One person we meet remains quite a mystery to Shay and I wonder what his part may be when we go further in. The goodbye is heartbreaking , the anxiety I felt sucked and the ending was of course a cliffy. A cliffy that I would let go of real fast if I was told the story continued down at the bottom. Yes that is how bad I need to know what comes next. Alexis says , oh it is only a week , hey 7 days is a long time to hang !! My arms are weak !!

Reviewing on behalf of Rosie's Book Heaven who was given an ARC for an honest review.

Cam, with the all American good looks, quarterback of the football team, and the desire of every girl in school. Shay like the other girls in school always fantasized about Cam and was shocked when he asked her out. The rest is history, as we meet the newlyweds in their new home. Madly in love they are determined to christen every place they can in their new home with hot, dirty delicious sex. There happiness is unfortunately cut short when Cam who is in the army, receives orders that he will be deploying to Afghanistan in one week on a rescue mission, which Shay knows is the most dangerous.

The week passes quickly with dinners spent with his army buddies and their families and setting up their new home, and before you know it, it's time for him to leave. The heartbreak is really overwhelming for Shay because her whole life revolves around Cam and life is so lonely when he is gone; although, she is a writer and spends most of her time writing. He won't even be home when her new book releases, but she understands that his allegiance is to his country, after all, that is what he signed up to do.

The actual leaving day is horrible for everyone. Cam assures Shay that he will be OK and tells her to be strong while he is gone. It's a heartbreaking scene no matter how you slice it, going to war is not for the faint of heart and tears are falling out of everyone's eyes.

I will not tell you the ending of Volume I because I do not want to give away the storyline. I was heart broken and anxiously await Volume 2 to see what happens. I love this couple.

rip my heart out now.

cam and shay have a love people only dream of, meeting in high school , dating in college getting the proposal and then marrying the love of your life, sounds awesome til that one day, just that one day.

Shay and cam met in high school fell in love, dated in collie and cam was going to making it big playing football, but getting hit to many times changed all that, Cam joined the services and yeah he had been deployed and yeah 6 months has been the longest his been gone, they should feel lucky but it doesn't make it easier. Shay writes books and tries to get along with the wife's of the army family but she's just different.

Shays and cams first night in their new home is disturbed by a call that changes everything cams platoon has been called in for a rescue mission and the leave in a week. Shay and Cam deal with the ideal he's leaving again. they go to a get together with the army family and Jacob walks in and he quite and keeps to his self and shay is bothered by that, anyway her and cam spend what time they can together. when time comes for goodbye cam promises to come back, as the guys are leaving shay notices Jacob and she's not sure why but she hugs him and tells him to be safe. the only problem with this story it's not long enough, can't wait for more. 5 star I don't see how service wives/husbands do it, they are just as stronge. this book is going to break me I just know it. I loved it.

Well the title of this book is what I will tell you my heart feels like! This is my first book I've read from Alexis Noelle and I truely enjoyed it. I had no idea what this story was about and was very surprised and pleased as I read. I haven't read many books about this subject so it was very intriguing and emotional for me. Alexis writes in a way to draw you in and feel like you can very well relate to these characters.
Shay and Cam Wilson are newlyweds who just moved into their new home and are so happy to start their life off together. Shay has more of a leisure career and Cam's career is very heroic and comes with great difficulty at times. As they are settling into their new life together, they come upon their first obstacle. One that I admire those wives who go through this. How will this turn out for them? I truly have not a clue and cant even guess....I really need the next one to be in my hands right now!
This story is told in parts. This first one is short and sweet. Even In its short length I was able to connect and feel for these characters. (I do wish that it was a little longer.) I love reading a story where I can picture myself living and doing the same things. I laughed alot at these characters interactions, expressions and dialogue. I must add there was also some very enjoyable sexiness in here too! What a great start to a sweet, sexy, emotional story. I can only imagine how hard this roller coasted is gonna hit on my insides! I'm holding on tight Alexis Noelle!

3. 5 Stars!

Fractured is my first book from Alexis Noelle. I enjoyed her carefree style of writing. Say it like it is. It was refreshing
This is going to be a short volume series. I happen to be a huge fan of them. They are quick reads. They give you just enough of a taste and leave you wanting more. I did find this one a tad too short. I think a few more chapters would have helped it greatly. I wanted more depth and character development. Just as I was getting into the characters it ended.

The story is about a young newly wed couple, Cam and Shay Wilson. Within the first few pages, you can clearly see they are very much in love and happy. They just moved into their new home. Cam is in the army and Shay is a budding new author. Just as they start their married life, Cam gets a call that could potentially change their lives. He needs to go on a mission and will be deployed. This is my first story about families in the military. My heart immediately went out to them. I could not imagine what it would be like to have my husband away from me serving our country. I commend their bravery and applaud their families for their support. I am intrigued to see where this story will go. This being the first book in the series this was the plot lay out. I hope with each book, Alexis will take us deeper into their emotional battles and struggles. Their trials and tribulations. It's a very reverent and unnerving subject matter that has a lot of potential.

***4.5***

This is the first piece of work by Alexis Noelle that I have read and I was not disappointed. It was a great serial with a lot of heart.

Cam and Shay have been together since High School and just got Married. They were excited to start their married life and unpacking their for their new home after the honeymoon. After only being home for not even a day Cam gets a call. He will be deployed in one week!

Cam and Shay want to make the best of their week together before Cam leaves again with his squad. Shay is not used to having a big support system so while he is gone she keeps to herself and writes books. There are the wives of the rest of the squad to lean on but they just don't click. She is more the relaxed type.

Cam and Shay are so much in love and just one of those matches made in Heaven. He is supportive of her writing and she is supportive with the Army life. They are also funny sexy and sweet so when it's time for him to go I was sad for Shay. I couldn't imagine having to go through all that. Can Shay handle him leaving once again?

Quotes:

With that statement my mood drops once again. One week—seven days—is all I have before he has to leave.

I am so over living by the rules that were set forth before I even showed up.

“I want you every minute, of every day, anywhere I can have you.”

My only complaints about this book are number 1 that it was too short and number 2 that I unfortunately knew how it was going to end early in the book.

Cameron and Shay Wilson are high school sweethearts who also happen to be newlyweds. Cameron is in the military while Shay is a writer who works from home. Though they just returned from their honeymoon, Cameron gets called back to go rescue some fellow soldiers.

This story takes place the week before he departs and is full of just enough history to make you fall in love with this couple and enough small drama to make you want to keep going on their journey.

Shay doesn’t feel like she deserves Cam and is often battling self-confidence issues that he always tries to right for her.

They are both worried about the impending separation, but after a grueling day and while enjoying a bath together, Cam says what might be the sweetest thing he could:

“When I’m away, this is the moment I’m going to think of. Being here with you no buillshit, no boundaries, just the two of us. I am going to miss you with every damn inch of me, Shay. I know that you’ll be okay though, as much as you think you can’t handle it.”

If you don’t mind serials, I recommend this book as a chance to fall in love with another couple while also meeting a few of their friends.

Isolation is a tough gig to deal with but when the love of your life is in the military it is something you learn to handle pretty damn quickly. High School Sweethearts Shay and Cam are newlyweds, completely besotted with each other, settling into not only married but military life.
This pair is so in love it will make your heart twinkle, Shay has her man and what a man he is because there is nothing that he wouldn’t do for her, his love is without question.
But when Cam is sent on a mission at short notice, Shay discovers that she has little in common with the other wives around her. But her career as a writer can keep her mind occupied and stop her from worrying every minute whilst he is away. Literally counting the days until he returns … just like he promised.
I love the fact that from the get-go this is an out and out love story, it is full of everything you want in life and that was joyous to read. It encompassed all the emotions that you could possibly feel when you are head over heels in love with someone. Not to say that it was all mushy as some would say, it certainly wasn’t it had more than its fair share of uncertainty, it was funny in parts and full of passion.
A short sharp read which sets its stall out nice and early and has the ability to keep you enthralled.

***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review - Jacquie / Scandalous Book Blog***
This is a very short introductory novel to a brand new series and although its a quick read it sets us up nicely for rest of the series. In fact the ending has us begging for more.
Shay and Cam are high school sweethearts and newly weds moving into a new home and trying to adjust to each other and his career as a soldier and the social commitments that this entails.
We see Shay struggle to keep up with the other army wives and meet the demands of her stay at home job as a romance novel writer.
Its obvious from the start that Shay and Cam are madly in love and that his deployments hit her hard and when in the first night he gets a call with a new tour of duty it hits her hard.
The book was very well written and easy to read and the description of the army wives and they’re outdated ideas of perfection made me smile.
If I have one criticism I think the book would have benefited from being a little bit longer and I would have liked to have had more of insight into Cam’s character as a person not just as a husband.
Having said that I look forward to reading the rest of the series especially as this one finished on a huge if not completely unpredictable cliff hanger.

This is my first read from Alexis Noelle and I was not left disappointed but was certainly left wanting more. I knew in advance the nature of this series, that being that they are small volumes due to be released in quite quick succession but I actually thought that half of it was missing as I just wasn't ready for it to end.

Shay and Cam are everything you want from a perfect book couple. High School sweethearts, Shay stayed strong by Cam's side when his college football career was pulled from under his feet. Now a military wife Shay continues to stand by Cam through everything. Just home a week from their honeymoon and Cam receives a call he is about to be deployed again. Despite being part of a military family, as a writer Shay frequently finds herself quite isolated and in her own world. She is unable to form meaningful bonds with the other overbearing, judgmental wives.

Cam ships out on the day Shay's new book is about to be released and a knock a door is a delivery of beautiful flowers from Cam to support his new wife. What will the next knock on the door bring...

I've been left gagging for the next installment in Cam and Shay's story.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This is a quick read. You see the tight bond and love Shay and Cam have for one another. Shay and Cam were high school sweetheart and newlyweds. Shay is a writer and Cam is very supportive of her. Cam is in the Army and has to leave on assignments with little notice. Shay is never thrilled when he has to leave as with any military wife when their husband has to leave the biggest fear is will they return but Cam always does and promises to always return to her.

This gives us a glimpse into Shay and Cams life and the men he serves with along with their wives. You also see the closeness that Cam has with the guys. You see how much Cam and Shay love each other and how much Cam supports Shay. Shay is happy her life is falling into place wonderful husband, career is taking off and then in one split second her world is turns up side down by one knock at the door. Way to leave me a ball of mess and make me wait tell the next volume but that is exactly what Alexis Noelle did.

****** Cam and Shay are Beautiful*****
I was hooked right from the beginning of this book. Alexis doesn't hold back, right from the first page she makes sure that you fall for this couple and become invested in their lives. Cam and Shay Newly Weds coming home from their honeymoon, is how we start. What better way to get a romance novel started?

I will tell you that you will need tissue for this book because the ending will have you curl up in a ball while you cry. I had to hide in the shower so that no one would think I have gone completely mad.
I love how Alexis incorporates some of herself into this book. Shay is a romance writer on her second book. At the end of this story, Shay has just published her second book and is waiting at the computer to see her ranking on Amazon. Eagerly awaiting to see how her fans receive her story of love and pray she makes it to the Top 10. Awesome!
I can't wait to read the next book in this series because as I said before this ending has hurt my heart.
Soooo, Alexis no pressure but hurry please!

Ugh, I knew... I just knew from the blurb that this was one that was going to hurt my heart. And by the time I was two chapters in, I was already mentally steeling myself....

All it takes is one moment to shatter everything around you, like so much glass. For Shay, who has it all - an adoring husband, a beautiful home, a successful career - that moment may be enough to fracture her forever...

This was a quick read, but by no means easy. I figured out fairly quickly what was coming, in general terms, but that didn't lessen my enjoyment of this great first installment to the Fractured serial.

I found myself gnawing my lower lip over Shay and Cam, getting invested in their story, hopeful for their future. But man, when the ending came, even knowing that there are two more volumes to come, I was no longer gnawing my lip, but instead trying to stop it wobbling.

Yup, I was close to tears. And very ready to dive into the next part of this series. I'm once again steeling myself... ~ Beth, 4 stars

Wow, Fractured Volume One is a great start of the series. It a quick short read.

We meet newlyweds Shay and Cam. They just get back from their honeymoon. Cam is in the military and he get the call that they are being deployed again. Shay is a writer who is about to hit publish on her book.

I loved Shay she is a great character. She has a funny side too. I loved how she responded to a friends question "Are you guys trying?" her responds was, "Yes, we are. We are totally trying to unpack the house, but it's taking forever." I loved that, it had my laughing.

Through the story you can really feel the love Cam and Shay have for each. After Cam has left, he arranged for flowers to be delivered on her book release day. The next time the door bell rings, Shay doesn't answer it and jumps to one conclusion and that's how we are left hanging. I really hope Shay is wrong and I can't wait to read more.

Shay and Cameron are highschool sweethearts with the perfect life....a wedding and a new house.
Cameron was a star highschool quarterback on the football team and went on to play in professional football, when he gets a concussion in a game he is told he can no longer play he decides to enlist in the army.
Upon arriving home from their wedding/honeymoon in Jamaica Cam gets a call that a team Afganistan has gone missing and his team will be the ones deployed to go and find them. After a week of training and meetings for the mission and two team dinners, and one celebration dinner for Shays upcoming book release which Cam is sure will be on the best sellers list, Cam and the rest of the team depart for their mission.
Although Cam promises with every mission that he will return home again, will this mission be the same???

***4.5***

I love serials. Short, sweet, sexy and cliffhangers. I love them. This is the story of Shay and Cam. High school sweethearts who get married, come home from their honeymoon and then get news that Cam is being deployed in one week. She is a writer and Cam is extremely supportive. Although she is supportive of his military career, she doesn’t fit in well with the other families in his unit. They try to pack as much time together into his last week and it's funny, sweet and hot. He is gone for her book release, but he's so loving and thoughtful that he sends flowers. Then comes the cliffhanger! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Don’t even get me started on Pinterest. That is where days go to die.

"Next time?" I pull back to look at him. "If you ever think about nominating me for that shit again I will go Lorena Bobbit on your ass."

I have so many questions!!

Fractured is a very quick, very, very sexy read that leaves you totally hanging in the end. Alexis Noelle does a fantastic job making you care about her characters in such a short amount of time.

Cam and Shay are high school sweethearts, recently married and just moved into their new house, getting ready to start life as a married couple. Then it all comes to a screeching halt with one phone call. After the call they have seven days to make the most of married life as the future is now unknown.

You will have to excuse the vague review as I am trying to not to post spoilers. Fractured is a great start to this novella series and I am dying to see who was in the SUV.

This was a fast read that absolutely crushed me! I read it in about 30 minutes and when I got to the last sentence I actually screamed out loud!!! I have never read an Alexis Noelle book before and now I want to go and read them all.
Shay and Cam are living a fairytale. They met in high school, stayed together in college and then got married. Cam is in the military which is never easy on a relationship but when he is home he is an amazing husband. He takes great care of Shay and makes her feel loved and safe. When it is time for him to deploy on a mission they prepare the best they can for it. But can you ever really prepare for what lies ahead? I need the next installment like yesterday so I can find out what happens!!!!

I was given a copy by author for an honest review.

Cam and Shay are high school sweet hearts as well as newlyweds. Shay is a writer and Cam is in the military. Returning home from their honeymoon Cam gets the call that he's being deployed in a week!

Cam and Shay make his last couple days the best they can. The day he gets deployed Shay's book is being released. The door bell rings and she is confronted with a beautiful arrangement of flowers from her loving new husband!

This short fast read completely gutted me! The characters were perfect its like I was living in a fairy tale. The ending destroyed me and I really need the next part!! I have to say this is one of the best books I've read!
