R.E. Bond is a dark romance author from Tasmania, Australia. She is obsessed with reverse harem books, especially if they have m/m! She collects paperbacks as a hobby, has read or written every day since she started high school, and constantly needs music in her daily life. She loves camping and rodeos in the summer, and not getting out of bed in the winter. Coffee and books are life, and curse words are just sentence enhancers.

Honestly? If I could read this book higher than five stars, I would. I don’t think anyone understands just how much this series has always meant to me and getting to reread it basically for the first time since everything from this book on is 100% new is insane.

Rory has always been an FMC that has always on my mind. I constantly talk about to people and just love in general. She resonated with me on a so deep level. I just don’t know how to explain it. But I absolutely love this author and everything she writes.

For my actual review here it goes: book one was essentially the same as the first version, but slightly had differences, for example, the ending. We pick up right where that one left off and to say Skeet wasn’t happy with Rory wasn’t understatement.

I love that we’re actually getting to see the guys and their familiar relationships and the bond between them themselves as well as their developing relationship with her. We didn’t get much of their past in the last version so it’s actually refreshing and amazing that we get to know more about them.

Slash is still an asshole, but I’m pretty sure he’s a little bit worse than this one. He for sure has some graveling to do, especially with the way this one ends. To say I wish March was tomorrow is an absolute understatement.

Rory is definitely still the bad ass FMC she’s always been and I can’t wait to see how her character and the rest of them develop throughout the series. I don’t wanna say too much because I don’t want to spoil it so the only other thing I’ll say is I love that we got to meet Hunter and Marco in this book. Also, Lexi is very different in the storyline. And I don’t hate it. But I will say I really do hope her and Rory’s relationship still progresses the way that I did in the original because I enjoyed that side of them. I felt like it made them closer as friends. So I really hope you don’t take that part out.

I honestly seriously though I can’t wait for March and I wish I was here tomorrow. Please read the series. And once you do read this whole series and its entirety, please read the rest of her works because they all follow this. There’s only three series off the top of my head that don’t fit into this world. Like I said, absolutely love everything you write and I cannot wait to own all of these with the original copies as well.

Author RE Bond has rewritten this series to give us additional backstory and updated characters so even if you read the OG series, grab it again because the author just gives more and more and if feels like a whole new series. The author is amazing at making this world seem like you are looking out the front door or could be hanging out with these people and not fictional characters. Please make sure you read the trigger warnings as this does take some really dark twists and turns including SA, gangs, violence, drugs and mental health scenarios. This also is a reverse harem with multiple love interests for the FMC but there is also MM and lots of spice. By far one of my FAVORITE series ever and I can’t stop telling people about it but again my cup of tea might not be yours so please, please, please read the trigger warnings!
Deceptive Games - Book 2 picks up after a cliffhanger which the author is fantastic at laying out for us and will continue doing throughout but the trauma Rory has endured just makes her so strong even though she is struggling to deal with her damage. She is 100% my FMC crush as she absolutely does not take any crap from anyone including the guys she is falling in love with. Each of the guys you meet throughout the series brings something different to the table and you have a lot of friendships overlapping where is where the author truly shines in my opinion as she weaves it all together so seamlessly that its hard to put down once you start down the rabbit hole. This rewrite gives a lot more of their backstories and friendships which just adds to the storyline.
You will find yourself wanting to get into sparring matches on Rory’s behalf both with her enemies and sometimes her love interests…..there are also parts that you find yourself laughing out loud and kackling about but there are also sweet moments like Josie being there for Rory when she needs a mom hug. New crews come into play in this book and of course they all have interest in Rory because not only is she a total hottie but they are overall intrigued about everything with her from her cage fighting, her jerk of a dad (gah) owing the crews money but also her revolving door of love interests. This is Book 2 out of 10 and you must read them in order so I recommend you get started today – you won’t regret it!

If you haven’t red the OG version:
I loved the second book in the Watch Me Burn series! You see Rory becoming a bad*** FMC who is has to decide weather to forgive Caden, Ty, Jense, and Lukas after how they treated her and how to balance that with her feelings for Skeet. It is definitely fast paced and will have you on the edge of your seats! I love how Rory is building different relationships with each of the guys and also dealing with the ongoing tension between her and Slash. There were definitely quite a few shocking moments and it does end in a MAJOR cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the next book!

If you have read the OG version: !!SPOILERS!!

I loved the OG series but the rewrites are a whole different level! I definitely feel that the story flows a bit better now and I also liked that we got more info on everyone’s parents and we get to see more of diesel way sooner. It’s also nice seeing how the guys interact with each other more and ofc the intro of Hunter and Mark 10/10! Also Skeet has always been my favorite character but in the rewrites I’m just shookkkk I love that they don’t have as much on again off again tension and skeet is way more in tune with his emotions and what he wants and it’s just sooo good!! Slash however hit me out of left field like whatttt and his breakdown when he apologized and realized he liked her it was such a good moment.

Absolutely loved this new updated book 2 of the Watch Me Burn Series. It kicks off immediately from the ending of book 1, so definitely make sure you read this series in order.

We see the fall out from the cliffhanger from book 1, with Rory trying to move forward.
The guys - Caden, Jense, Tyler and Lukas are trying to get back into Rory’s good books, loved their grovelling and her giving them the cold shoulder.

We have some new characters in this book who really mix it up, these guys are from a rival crew and they have history with Skeet. It was mesmerising to see how they interact with Rory, these guys are dangerous but Rory seems to bring bad boys to her like moths to her flame. The drama this brings is fantastic!

Lucas’s mother is up to her old tricks, which adds a lot to explain Lukas’s hesitation with his sexuality and mental health/his self loathing at times.

We see some real raw emotions in this book, find out about traumatic pasts and there’s some blood spilt.
The steamy scenes in this book are hot AF, this is a poly relationship but it also includes a little light MM 🫦🔥🥵

Cliffhanger ending leaves you screaming for more.

I absolutely consumed this book, I couldn’t put it down until the very last word. Bond is a phenomenal writer, the real world fades away and I’m right there like a fly on the wall in Ashburn Valley and Hawthorne Heights. The grit, action, suspense and twists hold me captive- can’t wait for book 3.

Deceptive games

Once again RE absolutely SLAYED my expectations when it comes to the rewrite of this series.  This second book is where you can really see the difference and growth in the characters. The story line is roughly the same, but the in-depth plot is so much more detailed and emotionally driven.

The first thing I want to mention (without any spoilers) is how much more I love Skeet in this rewrite. He is so much more connected to his emotions and how he feels about Rory. I absolutely adore their relationship in this book. The one I don’t know how to feel about after this last book is Slash. I am very curious to see where the story goes with him. I cannot wait to read the 3rd book as this one ended on another cliffhanger. ( RE likes to make it hurt lol)

This book once again hit me right in the feels and brought me to tears a few times. Seriously Rory’s journey with her men is one of my absolute favorites. I have read the original story at least 10 times and didn’t think she could top it. I was wrong. If you are a fan of the original books do not be afraid to read the new rewrites. I absolutely exceed my high expectations, and I love it even more than the original at the moment.

Things I am curious about how will be handled in the rewrite is Lukes’s story arc, hunter and Marcs, and the gangs. I literally am on pins and needles waiting on the next! 5 star read for me, and cannot recommend it loudly enough.

More character depth and relationship development compared to OG version

When she announced she was doing a rewrite of one of my favorite series, I was so worried that I wouldn't love it as much. But her decision to do these rewrites was the right choice because the story is getting so much more detail and insight and character/relationship development. I do need to add a big trigger warning for chapter 14. That one was hard to read for me as I typically avoid books with those particular scenarios between characters that end up in a relationship later on (and it involved one of my favorite male characters in the series which made it even harder). For those who read the OG series, you may struggle with the change in one character. I know I really struggled with that change. It's a bit of a rough ride in book 2, and that cliffhanger is brutal. I will just say to have faith and trust the process. Overall, these changes have added so much more depth to the characters and story. I love getting more of the guys' POV and also seeing more of their relationship dynamic within their group. I'm so excited to see how everything comes together this time. And getting to fall in love with some of my favorite characters all over again is pretty awesome.

I'm team Rory always. Thoroughly Loved

Deceptive Game by R.E. Bond absolutely blew me away. I went into this book a little nervous because I thoroughly loved her previous story, and I was worried it couldn’t live up to it—but somehow, it exceeded every expectation. I didn’t just love it… I may be a little obsessed with her writing now.
Rory is such a compelling character, and I’m really enjoying the variability she shows with the men in her life. In past books, I usually latch onto one clear favorite book boyfriend, but this time I found myself shifting as the story developed—liking different characters for different reasons—and honestly, I’m not mad about it at all. That evolution feels so natural and refreshing.
R.E. Bond truly shines in the why-choose genre. Her character dynamics and relationships feel authentic, emotional, and relatable (minus the trauma, of course). The connections never feel forced, and the chemistry builds in a way that keeps you completely invested.
If you love why-choose romances with strong character development, emotional depth, and addictive writing, Deceptive Game is an absolute must-read. R.E. Bond has officially secured a permanent spot on my auto-buy list. 💖📚

This book starts right where Pretty Lies ended, and we get to see what happens after that cliffhanger. This is filled with even more trauma than the first book, found family, new characters, lots of spicy scenes including some MM, and tons of drama.

So much happens in this book! Rory is coming to terms with what happened at the end of Pretty Lies and trying to move on from it. Caden, Jensen, Tyler, and Lukas are all groveling and trying to get her to forgive them. Luke's mom is a whole dumpster fire of problems. Slash still hates her and is now determined to scare her away. We meet characters from a few other crews who are coming into town and causing drama.

The pacing is fast, and honestly, there's never a dull moment. There's always something going on that will have you wanting to keep reading. There are quite a few jaw-dropping moments and emotional scenes. We also learn a little more about some of the characters and their own trauma-filled backstories. The spice is great, and we get some light MM sprinkled in there that I'm hoping we will get more of in the next book. Be prepared, there is a cliffhanger that is just as bad as the last one!

I have been in love with the Watch me burn series from the beginning. I honestly didn't think it could get any better, but holy crow was i wrong!  I completely devoured this book in half a day... I just could not put it down! Seeing the way the dynamics between Rory and all the guys has changed in some ways, while keeping true to the core of who they are... its just mind blowing!

For those of you that never read the original series, thats ok, you will get everything you need to know right from the new rewrites. I feel like the core of who the characters has truly stayed the same, with the main difference being the plot and storyline is alot smoother and not as disjointed as it sometimes was in the old version.

Definitely mind the trigger warnings.. this is a VERY dark and twisted romance, with violence, S.A. unaliving, lots of steamy moments, and a Fmc with a wicked sense of humor! This is a poly romance with MM in the harem. I promise you will not regret giving this series a try!

I was already chomping at the bit to get into this book after the way Bond left us hanging in book one—and wow, she did not disappoint! From the very first chapter, I was hooked. R.E. Bond has this incredible way of blending emotion, suspense, and just enough tension to keep you questioning everyone’s motives… well, except maybe the “rich boys,” because honestly, I’m not really second-guessing them anymore.

But Skeet? He’s so closed off to Rory that I just don’t know what to do with him. And then Bond throws in ****** (no spoilers, because I’m not about to ruin that twist for anyone), and goodness gracious, that completely blew my mind. Now I’m sitting here trying to figure out how ****** could grovel enough to make it up to her.

And honestly, I can’t shake the feeling that there’s still another player waiting to join her harem before all is said and done.

As always, Bond leaves us on an incredible cliffhanger, and I’m absolutely dying to find out what happens next.

I deserve a medal or something for having to endure yet another RE Bond cliffhanger.

Like seriously woman. That was a bit harsh.

Deceptive Games is book 2 in the newly revamped Watched Me Burn series. And I am back in the folds with Rory and her guys. Even though they just claim to be nothing more than FWBs. Let's be honest here though. They all caught feelings and they won't admit it.

Book 2 is a wild and spicy ride that had my emotions going haywire. Skeet is Skeet. Caden and Tyler have become quite clingy towards Rory (it's like they have loneliness syndrome or something) and Jensen and Lukas and Rory are developing a relationship and I am so here for that. Lukas and Jensen are just so hot together. Now I just need book 3 so I can keep on going because the story has consumed me!! It's like a brand new series. And I'm loving this!

Rory is always causing trouble and doing everything she can to prove she can handle this life, but many obstacles are thrown her way. New and old people try to end her, but she continues to come out stronger and fight back the only way she knows how. The men are trying to stick by her but many are fighting their own battles. Introducing a new street crew who also takes a liking to Rory is going to cause so much trouble and the cliffhanger at the ending was cruel! i can't wait for book 3.This is book 2 in the series and is an amazing read. I love the original books, but these rewrites go into so much more detail with all the characters, and it's like getting to know them for the first time again. I love it. I will always recommend books written by this author; they are really good and always a fantastic read.

Where to even start?!
You need to enjoy dark romance with multiple lovers to read this series and I am here for it! Arguably my favourite author, Bond has created a masterpiece with Rorys world that is beyond immersive and addictive to read.
I didnt think the original could be improved but the rewrites are so much more juicy and detailed and I feel like im reading an entire new series which I am!
The second installment brings forth more trauma and new love interests as well as throwing red flags left right and centre. Aurora (Rory) is a hellion female lead and so strong you can fully believe why shes so popular with the men trying to win her over.
Cant get enough and can't wait for book 3 to grace us - amazing read!

This book is just so good. It starts off where Pretty Lies left off and man it is a roller coaster of all emotions. I loved the original series but I swear these new rewrites are amazing and I didn't think I could love more than I did before but was proven wrong wach time so far.

Rory is trying to move on from what happened. Caden, Lukas, Jensen, and Tyler are all trying to get back in her good graces.

Skeeter is still Skeeter and I love him even if he seems standoffish sometimes. Slash still doesn't like Rory and thinks she's a distraction for Skeet.

We have a lot more that happens with trauma and drama and more characters too. Get ready to go on the ride of your life and that cliffhanger, man, need the next book now!

Rory Rules!

This series just got even more intense. This second book continues Rory's story. Deceptive Games is a why choose with dark themes so be warned.

Even more chaos reigns as Rory deals with her actions from the first book. Slash is still determined to scare her off and his tactics have him crossing a dangerous line. I'm not sure how things will be between them after that ending.

Luke is dealing with his feelings and his mother. Jensen wants to see what things take them. Skeet is fighting with Slash and torn between the club and Rory. Caden is working on giving up some control...not much but some.

There are new faces and new dangers. Rival clubs are a new threat and they've taken interest in Rory and her relationship with Skeet. At least one enemy is handled in this book, but Rory seems to collect new ones like she does men.

Looking forward to the next book!

How can it possibly get better than the original? Rachel continues to blow me away. The first time this series came out , I was in love with this series and didn't think it could get better. When she said it was gonna go through rewriting I was worried that it would change the story is love so much. But the fact its even better is crazy.

In this second book Rory has to face monsters from her past and she has to face off with the monsters right in front of her that are trying to get rid of her. She has to has to deal with her chaos and the crazy from all the people around her. Can she handle it or will she crumble with the world around her?

Deceptive Games is book 2 in the Watch Me Burn Series. This series has been recently revamped by R.E. from the previous versions. This book was Amazing and I devoured it in one day. I absolutely was so caught up in the story that the ending has me begging for the next book. I absolutely love the FMC and how she handles the things thrown her way. I'm also excited to see how it all plays out for her and her growing harem. R.E. is NOT disappointing her readers with this revamp. I loved the stories before but THIS revamp has me so excited for the next! I feel like I'm finding things I missed before. This book is a MUST READ and I feel like this series is going to be a MUST HAVE.

Decptive Games is the second book in the newly rewritten Watch Me Burn series. I loved the original series as it was but these newly rewritten books (or totally new book in the series such as this one) has blown me away, all I can say is WOW!!!! Captivated from the first page to the last, I had a very hard time putting this book down. It is full of character development, more insight into character backgrounds, more intense scenes, heartache, trauma, danger, twists and turns you wouldn’t expect and of course lots of spice!!! I am so excited to read the rest of this series as it gets rewritten and fall in love with it and the characters all over again!!!

PLAYING WITH FIRE

RE Bond is re-writing this series and while quite a few readers are coming back to re-read, I am new and loving it. So as I am unable to compare to first editions, however, this book two is full of drama, characters to make you question the sanity of yourself, the author and other readers and writing that will keep you hooked to the very end. So much happens in this book between characters, as individuals and as a group. The growth and depth from which they grow from in Book 1 is extremely entertaining. Nothing is out of bounds and nothing is left to ponder other than these characters a playing a game, I'm not sure who will come out as a winner.

The author outdid herself again with this book.

New book in a rewritten series and I’m amazed at what takes place.

Picking up where the first left off.

Rory is starting to grow into the badass she’ll become ultimately. She’s feisty but vulnerable. And that’s what makes her that much lovable.

The men - so far - grovel if needed. They had to. The others are slowly being brought to their knees. Can’t blame them.

Check your triggers. This book is very dark.

Will say the cliffhanger leaves Rory in a pickle. But then in this case, she brought it on herself.

If you think book one is a roller coaster, book two comes at you with so much more! We see a lot more of Diesel and Skeet but all the boys are still present. Also we seem more crews filtering in. Bond is the queen of dark emotional romance and Rory is hands down my favorite bad a girl! She takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Seriously her strength and determination not to bend to her who she is and have what she wants is astounding. In true fashion this book comes with a nerve wracking cliffhanger but u know it is 1000 times worth the wait!

Well Rory while I want to say she is tough and a bad A is also hard headed. But she's scrappy and doesnt back down but sometimes I wish she would just listen and stop doing things she doesnt need to do. The guys Caden, Jensen, Ty and Lukas are still redeeming themselves from book one but finally get to a place where she feels she can rely on them. A lot goes down and now we have new players in the mix and Slash shows his true colors. Things get dirty and spicy. Book three should be interesting.

Excuse me, I'm gonna need 5-7 business days to get over that ending because OH MY GOSH.

I devoured this. Ate this up. If you think since you read the OG series, this is more of the same... think again.

Skeeter continues to be my number 1 (but I swear this man can do no wrong) 🤭 And SLASH!!!!! Ugh I'm obsessed. Feral for every one of these guys. And I loved how Rory just keeps on pushing forward and fighting for what she wants 🔥

RE Bond, you are a master writer and I literally cannot wait for the next book. So excited to see what you have in store for us!

Dang it. you left us again on a cliffhanger that was a full on gut punch! I even knew it was coming and tried to read slower…then bam, no more pages. Ugh - you evil woman. I loved it.

But dang how could I have forgotten how much our poor Rory has to go through!!! She might be a bit unhinged - but the girl is also one of my favorite characters and girl crushes.

The guys - Slash ticks me off & might just need to be hurt a lot! Skeeter might be the hot older guy, but even he needs a throat punch. The rich boys - might make sense age wise but they have their own trauma and damage issues that to make them just as unhinged.

I love Rory and all of her guys. The first write of the Watch Me Burn series will always be my favorite.

Especially after the rewrite of Slash’s character in Deceptive Games. I’m not sure how I like this new version or him. It made me very upset because he was one of my favorites and after this book not so much.

I liked seeing more of the connections that Rory built with Hunter and Marco. Getting more glimpses of Rory and her guys made me very happy because I really love her character, flaws and all.

This is seriously one of my favorite books. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book. This was full of a steamy emotional roller coaster of a ride. Not a single boring moment with Rory. I really enjoyed all the different points of views throughout the book. Getting to learn how the others think and about their lives. They all definitely keep you on your toes throughout the book. I very very highly recommend this book series to everyone that loves an amazing RH story. Will definitely bring reading the next book!

This is the second book of the Watch Me Burn Series, which is currently being rewritten. Book two ended up being a completely new book in the series. I love that Ms. Bond gave the characters more context and history, even if we were left with a doozy of a cliffhanger.

The dark interactions between Rory and Slash have become a centerpiece of this story. Slash is a major character with large implications on Rory’s behavior. I'm not really sure how we are going to redeem him for the rest of the series.

I really enjoy these rewrites, the characters are getting so much more depth with the new story lines. We see more side characters and earlier interactions with others. The guys are really trying to make up for their previous behavior and be there for Rory in all ways possible.

I’m looking forward to reading the rest of this series. It’s still a dark romance that touches on sensitive topics. Readers should Check all trigger warnings before diving in.
