Wow! An amazing, fun, addictive quick read. I devoured this book so fast and couldn't get enough of Kieran. I love him, he's hilarious, unhinged, and God that filthy mouth on him🫦.
The moment he said, “Oh, fuck this!” my heart skipped a beat. First encounter between them and all his restraints snapped! Claiming her as his on their first meet up had me hooked and invested! Their chemistry is insane.
Issa is strong, fierce and confident even after everything she's been through. FMCs who normally refuse to be spoiled by their men should take a page out of her book. After surviving all that hardship, she deserves all that luxury and happiness that Kieran brings in her life.
Damn the spice! The first couch scene takes it all🤭.

it’s something special to read a book by a friend & im so lucky to work with diana & see her flourish as an author! kieran’s obsession is out in the world & think it’ll be your next obsession 😉 especially if you like a mafia romance with a man who’s down bad & only wants to take care of his girl—even if he’s a bit unconventional in how he does it! there’s so many things to love about this novella but some of my favorite things are the group chat, issa’s fierceness & strength but also her ability to accept help when offered! i love the side characters & the spice scenes & i can’t wait for the next book!

This was a book I wanted to fall in love with, but I kept finding myself pulled out of the story. One of the biggest culprits for me was the repeated mention of a certain major pop-culture icon. I know she has a massive fanbase, but every time her name appeared, I internally cringed—and once I started cringing, it was hard to fully sink into this world. Which was a shame, because on paper this story had everything I usually devour in the first few chapters: a mafia boss, obsession, touch-her-and-die energy, and a sassy FMC - Isabella. All my favorite ingredients. But for me, this mafia romance didn’t leave me begging for more.
While I enjoyed Isabella’s sass and strong will, I never found myself connecting with her. For me, great books hinge on characters who pull me in—characters I want to live beside, think with, feel with. Isabella never quite reached through the pages for me; if anything, I felt more annoyance than attachment.
Kieran, on the other hand, carried the story. His character felt more fleshed out—layered, believable, and steadily developed. His presence and personality floated off the page, and he dominated the dynamic in a way that made it feel like the balance between the two characters was missing. Instead of a partnership, he overshadowed her.
At 196 pages, this is a quick read—I finished it in a day. What I did appreciate was Kieran’s singular focus. Once he decided he wanted something, there was no hesitation, no wavering. That kind of certainty in a character can be delicious when done right, and here it absolutely worked.
Overall, it had pieces I typically love, but the execution didn’t fully land for me. Still, Kieran’s presence gave the story enough spark to keep me turning the pages.

Kieran's Obsession is a short, fast paced, dark mafia romance.
Isabella has had a rough life. She is living on the streets, working as a waitress, trying to save as much money as possible so that she can get a place. She discovers a cute little bookstore where she begins to spend all here free time, just to have somewhere safe to be, but she also meets her new bff here, the owner of the bookstore. In a vulnerable moment one night, she blurts out her lack of home situation to her new friend and to her surprise, her friend is able to help her. She has a little room upstairs form the book store that Isabella can stay in. As a thank you, Isabella starts cleaning the bookstore on the weekends. While cleaning one day though, she is confronted by a tall, dark, handsome man, looking for his sister, the owner of the store. She isn't there, but a spark ignited between Kieran and Isabella and he is obsessed. He will stop at nothing to have her... and maybe, she might be ok with it after all.
I wished this story was a little longer. It all felt a little rushed to me. I loved Kieran, but couldn't find myself connecting with Isabella's character. I love the use of a sweet little pet name, unique to each character, however, I found her name Butterfly to be overused in the story. Also... while I know a couple of her songs, I'm not a huge Swifty, so I wasn't really grasping all the pop-talk. But overall, the story was great.

I went into Kieran’s Obsession with pretty high hopes since it features several tropes I normally enjoy, but unfortunately it didn’t quite land for me.
The writing felt a bit clumsy and flat, with a lot more telling than showing. Because of that, I struggled to feel fully immersed in the story or connected to the characters. It’s definitely a quick read—maybe too quick—as the ending arrives so abruptly that it feels like the story simply stops rather than concludes.
The main characters, Isabella and Kieran, are… fine. I liked Kieran and his family the most, and I wish the book had given more time to the dynamics there. Isabella, on the other hand, never quite came to life for me; she felt more like a placeholder than a fully developed character. The relationship between the two lacks spark, making it hard to invest emotionally.
The plot is very simple, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but paired with the pacing and the lack of depth, it left me wanting more.

A good mafia romance with the irresistible possessiveness we all love from the MMC, Kieran. Isabelle is a wonderful counterpart to Kieran with her feisty, independent, no-nonsense attitude. Their introduction to each other is pure gold and I love how the author portrayed things from both his and her perspectives. This read is full of wonderful positive affirmations that everyone can benefit from, but they mean more coming from Kieran to Isabelle with a delivery that is *chef’s kiss*. The differences in their worlds is stark and the introduction fast-paced. It is a quick read, so not a ton of detailed background information and build-up, but the plot twist at the end is one that I did not see coming! I’m hoping that we will have more to Kieran and Isabelle’s story in the near future!!

Fast paced, spicy, insta love/ lust from Kieran (mmc) with some hesitation from Issa (fmc), touch her and die, strong family dynamics, and a hilarious group chat made this book a great read! Issa is strong, sassy, and independent and kieran is possesive, attentive, and obsessed with issa. They have a funny little meet cute at Kieran's sisters bookstore where the tension and sparks fly that just builds throughout the book with a fairly simple plot and great relationships it made for a fun read that had me cracking up! With that being said i did struggle to connect with the characters a little bit I felt like i didn't get to know them (backstory) more Issa then kieran, and the climax/ conflict felt a little rushed like it happened then it was over. I feel like these "problems" could be resolved if the book was longer and had a little bit more detail/ depth. Overall though it was a good book and I recommend!

There's just something about a man that is absolutely feral for his woman. This fast-paced mafia romance was sexy, fun, and lighthearted in a dark rom-com kind of way. I had the best time reading this book. This is my first read by Diana Barnes and I thoroughly enjoyed her writing. I was hooked from beginning to end. Loved the plot and characters, they were fun and easy to read.
Kieran is the obsessed anti-hero we all add to our wish list. Tall, dark, tattooed, muscular, you know the drill.
Isabella is such a great, feisty FMC, I liked her tenacity right away. Her internal monologue had me cackling.
Their meet-cute was freaking hilarious. They had me laughing and squealing. They were so hot together. I ate this book up so fast.

I apsoultely ate this book up and honestly cannot believe that this is Diana's first book !!!

This was my first read from this author and I enjoyed it! It was a short and fast read !
I enjoyed the tension and the banter! Also the MMC brothers were so entertaining! I need their books if this turns into a series lol
I was able to connect with the FMC and I liked her. I loved the MMC and how determined and possessive he was ! He is definitely a good book boyfriend! He did do two unhinged things that I was like 😳 but I loved it lol
I hope you add this to your tbr and you enjoy it!
I loved that the author is Latina and the FMC is a curvy Latina! Also, the book playlist had Spanish songs and I LOVED THAT!!

Well to say that I was just taken on the ride of my life and completely mind blown in all the best ways would be the biggest understatement. I have to be completely upfront and say this was my first time reading one of Diana’s books ( and it most definitely will not be my last . Because oh man was this book so freaking awesome, so steamy and Uttely addictive. Not to mention a must read for all Dark Mafia Lovers Kieran and Isabella the connection and the love between them oh man I could not get enough . so much darkness and beauty and the feelings their journey stirred in me no words could possibly describe Kirean Is as morally gray and unhinged as you can get ,and I was so there for it all . He’s possessiveness and and protectiveness, the way he would burn 🔥 the word down for his butterfly his Isabella . Don’t plan on getting much sleep at all , that’s all I can say .

From the very first bookstore meet-cute, this story pulls you in fast and doesn’t let go. Their initial meeting was easily my favorite part, and Kieran’s immediate fixation made it clear this would be an intense, instalove mafia romance. His character felt fully realized—dominant, obsessive, and unwavering once he decided Issa was his. I especially loved his family dynamics and how grounded and strong those relationships felt.
That said, while this was an enjoyable quick read, it did feel a bit too short for everything it tried to tackle. I struggled to fully connect with Issa, and I wished we’d gotten more depth to her inner world to balance how much Kieran carried the story. Still, his devotion and the fast-paced tension kept me turning pages. A solid novella for readers who love obsessive MMCs and high-intensity romance in a bite-sized format. 🖤🔥

I love Mafia romances and I absolutely loved this book. You want a mafia, obsession, touch her and D.. vibes, no slow burn book this is a choice.
Issa is an incredible FMC. She has struggled throughout her life and has been fighting for what she wants. Growing up in Russia was hard for her. She was looked at differently but she grew up strong from it. She is a strong, independent, hard working, sassy character.
Now Kieran...I absolutely love him and his obsessed self. He is hilarious, hot, dangerous, and just what a woman wants. He grew up in the Mafia so that is really all he knows. Kieran is the perfect MMC.
It was an amazing dark Mafia romance book. I enjoyed reading the whole book and when it got spicy...it got spicy! 5 jalapeno for me.

Kieran's Obsession by Diana Barnes was a quick fast insta-read, insta-love romance. I mean Insta-love to!!!
Issa is homeless and meets a new friend Kate who offers her a room above her bookstore. While cleaning the head of the Mafia comes into the bookstore and its love at first site....AT FIRST SITE on Kieran's part now he just has to get Issa on the same page.
Kieran was obsessive and their was no line he would not cross to get what he wants. Issa finally finds her found family in this book and no one is judging her. ALSO she loves Taylor Swift (FYI if you don't like her (Taylor Swift) there are allot of references to her in this book) I can't wait to see what Diana writes next.

I've read a lot of Mafia romances and I must say I really like what the author did with Isabella's character. Her entire backstory, her outlook on life, and even how she's handling herself in the present and making best with what she has is incredible ❤️
And oookkkk Keiran!!! Dang....!!! He knew what he wanted and just said yup done mine 😂 this was very fast paced very insta love. If you enjoy those tropes you'll definitely enjoy this! It's also on the shorter side so it makes for a quicker read. The banter between Keiran and his brothers is funny.

Kieran is the head of Russian Mafia. His family was based in Russia but when he took over he moved to LA taking the territory over in the states as well.
When their worlds collide in a small bookstore, the connection is instant. Kieran knew she was his the second he laid eyes on her and as much as Issa tried to fight it she knew this was the truth.
This spicy mafia based novella was a fast paced read. The love between the two was instant. I felt like the build up to the end was absolutely fantastic, but when it got there it was a little rushed in the action. Though, overall the book was a good quick read.

I was absolutely sucked into this book right from the beginning. It’s dark, obsessive, touch her and die, mafia.
Issa is homeless. She goes to a bookstore one day after work when she misses her train. Issa meets the owner of the bookstore Kate. Eventually when Issa gets closer to Kate she tells her she is homeless. Kate lets her stay in a room above the bookstore. Issa starts cleaning the bookstore on Sunday’s when it’s closed. In walks Kieran Kate’s brother and the Pakhan. Kieran falls first and he falls fast for Issa. He is determined to make her his. Issa isn’t having it at first.
The tension between Kieran and Issa is explosive.
This is a great read. I definitely recommend this book.

Isabella has gone from being abandoned to foster care, to sleeping in shelters and the streets of Moscow, to now being the obsession of Kieran, the Bratva’s most-feared Pakhan.
Kieran falls for Isabella completely and immediately. For him, nothing will get in the way of marrying his Butterfly…not even Isabella herself.
Although the overall story was nice, at times it felt unpolished and not what I would consider a dark mafia romance. This one just wasn’t for me.
One of my favorite aspects of Kieran’s Obsession is the group text messages. They are priceless!

A quick read. It just flowed so well, and I didn’t realise how fast the pages were turning until I got to the last page. Couldn’t put it down, and I’m looking forward to the next one!

I am very thankful to have received this book as ARC in return for my honest review!
Definitely was a quick read with quite a bit of spice to it! The twist near the end did catch me off guard! I absolutely enjoyed reading how much the FMC grew in the book, she deserved it all! The MMC was very touch and die vibes and that’s always a fun trope when reading in my opinion. I do wish there was just a bit more hesitant to their relationship, it just moved so fast the whole time. Overall was a good fast read!

Was really excited for this as at first glance at blurb and tropes seem to hit a lot of my favorites to read about.
Kieran is a much more likable character than his counterpart. His family relationships are really great, wholesome dynamics. The meet cute is, well, cute! The group text trend carries the book… Two distinct voices for the MCs are well done. Has great humor throughout with LOL moments.
But there was a lot that didn’t add up that makes this hard to read and the pacing was off. It feels like a beta document than a finished product. It has good bones for a longer story.

Kieran's Obsession grabbed me from the start and did not let go until the end. I am just a sucker for a good Obsession read and Kieran is totally Obsessed with Isabella and I am so here for it.
Kieran falls for Isabella with a single mind focus, and the fun thing is she is independent, and strong. She has a strong mind that made me fall for her as a character. How will she deal wit Kieran's Obsession?
This is a great read that I could not stop reading until the end. I highly recommend this book for fans of Obsessive guys.

Kiernan sees Isabella and knows immediately that she is the one for him. He will not let anyone get in his way of achieving his goals. When together, these two had instant chemistry. It lit the pages on fire with its intensity. Isabella has gone through some tought times and finally gets a bit of a break. Their relationship is full of high intensity and a lot of sass. Good read.

Well that escalated quickly lol This was def a fast good read! Kieran fell for Isabella FAST and HARD. He was def obsessed with Isabella and wasn’t afraid to show it. I love that she found a family and they love her and accepted her quickly. She went from nothing to having everything and I loved that for her! This was a great mafia novella with a plot that was easy to read and love! Please let there be a book for Kate!
