Pax

I just want to survive my Heat in peace, so I book a secluded cabin for the holidays. But when I’m ready to pass out after a long trip, I find something already in bed. Under the covers. My first thought? Giant friggin’ rat.

Turns out the rat is actually an Alpha mink shifter, and he’s very flirty. When I explain why I’m here and not with family during this holiday season, he offers to help me through my Heat. He says it’ll be casual, no strings. But the more time we spend together, the harder it is not to get attached.

Aaron

I didn’t expect to meet an Omega on vacation. I had plans to design my next line of stuffed toys, but he’s too distracting. His Heat’s getting the best of him, and I offer to help since I can’t knock up a human. Unfortunately (or fortunately) Pax is my fated mate, which makes things complicated. What starts as a simple arrangement becomes more than either of us bargained for.

Mink Hijinks is part of Double-booked for the Holidays, a multi-author mpreg shared setting at Christmas series with sexy shifters and forced proximity. Each book can be read as a standalone, but why not read them all?

Double-booked for the Holidays is a multi-author mpreg shared setting Christmas series. The winter holidays are hard on single shifters. Instead of going home to yet another barrage of “why haven’t you found your mate yet” questions, some prefer to book lodging and ride out their depressing time off between Christmas and New Year’s.

Except this year, their cabins are double-booked with unsuspecting humans.

Hey peeps! I’m Morgan.

I’ve always been a reader and a daydreamer. My writer origin story is embarrassing now that I think about it. But also kinda funny, maybe. One day I might share. If people ask nicely. It involves a psychic.

I share an apartment with my sister in Southern Indiana where we keep the AC on year round and try to keep each other entertained.

A cute MM Holidays romance novella where being double-booked in a cabin leads them to finding Fated mate 😗. It's short, cute, hot with omegaverse (+ m-preg) & paranormal setting.
I devoured my #ARC in 4hrs. Loved Pax & Aaron! I applaud Morgan, we got so much in a short book.

Pax is a human Omega. He's a mechanic & muscular. P's gentle, cautious, sweet but heats make him needy. P's "need to be strong", insecurities hurt but I'm glad he finds who he is.
Aaron is a mink-shifter Alpha. He's famous for stuffies. A's wild, chaotic with a flirty flair but is caring, protective too. (I've never read a mink shifter before!)

Their meet cute is hilarious 😂. A rat? Lol. I liked how A brings lightness to P's life & how P reminds A to relax & just be. I liked that A goes by P's pace, they're so cute 🥹. OMG so hot too. Especially as P's in heat at cabin! I liked them getting to know eachother as mates. Will they do Long Dist• or change life to be together? Love me a vers couple 😍.

This world was interesting. So Shifters aren't known yet there are "rumours" huh? Makes sense, I guess. Family & friends are hella fun. A's so chill with P's bestie, It showed how settled they are together. I liked getting to see them as couple & m-preg! Cute ending. I totally want the bestie's book.

💭 My Thoughts:
❄️✨️ An easy, beautifully written read with funny, emotional, and steamy moments.
The way Aaron looked after Pax when his Heat hit was tender and heart-melting, and I loved how their roles broke away from the typical alpha/omega setup.
🥵 The spice was chef’s kiss 🤌 - steamy, kinky, and emotional, but never too much. Even with all the heat, there’s so much emotional depth, vulnerability, care, and genuine warmth. It ends up being both sexy and sweet.

▪︎QUOTES▪︎
■ “You’re beautiful in your vulnerability, Pax. It’s part of what draws me to you.” - *Aaron*

■ “Says a shifter. You are magical.”
“Does that bother you?” I brace for his response.
“I got fucked by a magical creature. Why would that bother me?”
“You did not just call me a magical creature!”
“Magical mink.” He pokes at my side.
“Better. Much better...." - *Aaron*

😉 Thanks for reading hope this helps you out!

Mink Hijinks is part of the multi author Double-Booked for the Holidays series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. This is the story of Pax a human omega and Aaron an alpha mink shifter. Oh my was this just the sweetest holiday story. This is what can happen when a cabin gets double booked. I love how both characters are the opposite of what you normally expect from alphas and omegas. This was just a perfect story with enough steamy moments to enjoy. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book.

Pax and Aaron have the cutest meet-cute I have ever read! If I found a 'Rat' in my bed I'd freak out too! Thankfully though, there was no rat, just an Alpha mink shifter who makes plushies, bakes, and sews. Not to mention he's a total sweetheart.

Even though Pax and Aaron meet under unusual circumstances and are strangers, they still form a sense of trust with one another during their stay at the cabin. Aaron didn't know Pax well in the beginning when he was being so kind, caring, and supportive towards the omega in heat, even though they were strangers he still offered kindness and support.

My favorite part of this book was when these two decided to go on a road trip to spend Christmas with Aaron's family. The road trip itself was enjoyable to read about but the moment when Pax gets introduced to Aaron's family was adorable! Everyone was so welcoming towards him and made him feel like family. I also want to say I'm very curious about Buckle, he seems so lonely on his own, I hope he'll eventually meet his mate.

I love how Morgan incorporated their love for plushies into a character in this book, its very cute and I enjoyed reading about Aaron's process of making various plushies.

This is a very cute, very sweet, Christmas romance book, with fated mates and a bit of hijinks.

💜 Review 💜

I loved every moment of Aaron and Pax’s story. It was sweet and swoony with just the right amount of heat to make my heart flutter.

I loved how Pax kept trying to prove to his family that being an Omega didn’t make him helpless. He was intent on making his own way, and the strength he carried—soft but unwavering—made him shine.

Aaron was the perfect Alpha for Pax—gentle, steady, and absolutely unbound by tradition. He showed Pax that being an Alpha or an Omega didn’t have to dictate who they were or the roles they played. Together, they could simply choose the life they wanted.

These two were fated for a reason. They were always meant to find each other, to be exactly where the other needed.

If you’re craving something short, sweet, and swoony with just the right amount of heat, this is the Omegaverse story to dive into.

This was the first book in the Double-booked for the Holidays series I've read, but I have a suspicion. Which won't get confirmed/denied until the series end (if ever). Any other of ya'll think that the clerk at the Winter Wonderland Wilderness Lodge, Branson, is some flavor of supe, maybe Fae? Either that, or he's pretty darn incompetent at his job, doublebooking 8 cabins.
I really enjoyed how Morgan Lysand approached this only one bed trope. Human Paxton is a grumpy, take charge/I don't need no Alpha, Omega, with the not so delicate muscles of a car mechanic. And the Alpha is Aaron Rising, the Adam Rising. "You might have heard of me?" (p16). Absolute sunshine, creator of a stuffie collection that is indeed becoming quite famous. He also enjoys homey touches and color. Cooking and baking is his love language. They have the best meet cute, a funny, if rude awakening to the supernatural for Pax.
The story was a quick, delightful read. A sweet holidays romance with just the right side of hotness sizzle. Who doesn't enjoy two MCs that can barely keep their hands off each other? Author Lysand is already thinking up a fated mate for Pax's bestie, Buckles. How about sending him to the Lodge for series two?
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.

Aaron (alpha mink shifter) and Pax (human omega) are getting away for the Christmas holiday season. They both book a cabin at the Winter Wonderland Wilderness Lodge. Unbeknownst to them they are double booked into the same cabin. Aaron has already arrived and made the cabin feel homey. When Pax arrives he's going into heat and has a big surprise. These two decide to stay together and nature takes its course. Within a few days they decide to go home and introduce each other to their families. Big chances are in their future.

This was a short, fast paced fated mates romance. I didn't really feel like Pax and Aaron had that fated mate spark. 🤷‍♀️ I didn't feel that special feeling from a Christmas book. It felt more like a book written in December and Christmas is mentioned. 🤷‍♀️ I liked Buckle and how he was such a supportive friend to Pax. Hopefully he finds his fated mate. I liked the fun that surrounded Aaron's family. Pax's family was more calm and didn't really feel close. This is probably a me thing but it just didn't give with me. Sorry.

I love fated mates stories! They are an absolute favorite of mine. I think author Morgan Lysand did a spectacular job with Mink Hijinks. I read it in one go round and now I have to look up the rest of the collaboration.

Pax is a strong human omega that doesn’t fit the stereotype. He works as a mechanic and lives life on his own terms. Those terms have him going into heat alone during the Christmas holidays at a super cute cabin. What he wasn’t expecting? A shifter inhabiting his cabin who is also his fated mate. Aaron isn’t expecting his cabin to be double-booked either, but he is more than ready to help his omega through his heat.

Oh the drama of their meeting! It was hysterical and laugh out loud funny. I can’t even imagine being in that position. I would have lost my marbles. This story flowed so easily from beginning to end. Never too fast, never too slow, just right through each little adventure that Pax and Aaron took. Oh and Buckle! Please tell me that Buckle gets a happily ever after?! His relationship with first Pax and then Aaron, it just hits all the right notes.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I really enjoyed this one! The story was solid, Pax and Aaron completely won me over, and both of their families were full of personality. And let’s be honest—the spice? Absolutely spicing! 🌶️

I always find it fascinating learning “the rules” in each Omegaverse—are there shifters? Is there MPreg? Does the world know? Maybe that’s just my curiosity showing since I don’t read a ton of them 😅

There were only two things that threw me off a bit: the pacing felt a little rushed (probably because of the book’s length), and a few lines of dialogue were just a bit too dramatic—gave me Soap Opera flashbacks with my great-grandmother 😂

Still, like all of Morgan’s books, the heart was there. 💕 Aaron caring for Pax during his heat was so tender, and despite the short length, I got attached to these two. I’d love to see more of their story—and their kits! 🐾

oh boy…

This one really got me in the feels.
Pax/Paxton is an adult who was left behind by a father at 8 years old & was subsequently told by the asshole that he was now the man & he had to protect his mom & sisters. As an adult he identifies as an omega & obviously has a growing spurt which makes him look more like an alpha to his shame. Aaron is an anxious minx who is a Mink shifter who has a decent business making stuffies. Of course their cabin ended up double-booked but hey “we’re fated”. It’s cute but honestly for how close Pax & Blake are & then when Blake & Aaron meet, they become super close. It’s weird that the author didn’t end up making this a poly story because in reading it does have that element. But the author does indicate she has a book releasing in February this year for Blake & his mate. So far, I’m really enjoying this series and I’ll just keep reading to see if there’s any more of this series that I can see myself reading over & over.

Eep

Bloody hell this book was adorable as all get out. Pax needs to be away from his family to have a peaceful alone heat without the pressure of finding an Alpha who doesn't appreciate him as he is. Aaron is on a creativity block for his next stuffie line so decides to spend the holiday alone to restart. Fate has other plans and double books the pair. What makes this book great is the role reversal from your standard alpha and omega. They are both just themselves, and when Pax needs someone to take care of him, Aaron has no issue stepping up for that role and showing Pax, he can be appreciated for who he is. When the heat passes, they are bored and decide to surprise the family and ugh Aarons family is exactly what Pax needs in his life to be truly appreciated. The road trip doesn't end there off to Pax's home to meet BUCKLE and Pax's family. Where the two end up spending time deepening their bond to see if there are compatible outside of the bedroom. A great fun holiday mpreg romance with cute babies galore. Now I must say BUCKLE better get a book or I may riot and drive this author a little nuts begging for their story.

I absolutely love this book. Paxton and Aaron are adorable together. I love how Aaron is so accepting of Pax exactly as he is, and, in turn, Pax learns to open himself up and accept all facets of himself, too. Their meet-cute made me giggle. While I was originally put off by Aaron's complete lack of filter, he grew on me very quickly. He's just so himself, and he loves it. So does, Pax. It makes it hard not to love him when you see how genuine he really is and how well he takes care of Pax. I love that their dynamic isn't the typical Alpha/Omega dynamic. It offered an additional layer to the story as well as to their connection. It was so much fun to read, and I have to say thank you for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this! I loved every moment of this story!

This opinion is my own and freely given. I highly recommend this and other Morgan Lysand books!

Pax & Aaron

The story had a pretty rough and tumble beginning, but I loved the way Pax & Aaron connected and how they explored their fated connection with one another. They didn't shy from their fate, and took the steps to figure out their future. I loved the back and forth pieces of their story while visiting with each other's family. They had a unique family setup that I thought was sweet and very welcoming.

Mink Hijinks was a fun & sweet holiday romp to get the seasonal reading started (for me) and I loved the variation each of the authors gave to their "double-booked" trope. It was fun to see how Pax & Aaron first meet and the reveal of shifters to the human. It was an entertaining read.

I received an authorized copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

Rat in the bed!

This has one of the cutest meet cures ever. The Pax character is sweet but he struggles with how society believes an Omega should look and act. Then he meets his roommate who dresses in a frilly pink robe. Aaron is an uncommon Alpha with how his profession and general way of being. Not all macho alpha posturing. He takes such care of Pax when his heat strikes. I adore this pair and their story. I am also excited that Pax's best friend, Buckle, is getting a story! He deserves it after pining for Pax since they were children. I would like for Branson to get a boom or short story too. I mean, he accidentally double booked all the cabins that year and brought all the couples in this series together. He definitely deserves a HEA of his own. 😉

Another fun read in the double booked for the holiday series. This started off running with Pax dealing with his heat and Aaron being their for him helping him through it. Their first meet was hilarious and cute. Built up to a very steamy time but with feels on both sides. A lot of vulnerability, but with all the care and love that was shown, this was also a sweet read. Aaron ...such a fun and caring alpha, help Pax accept and love himself...with a loving and supporting family too. I enjoyed this holiday romance and recommend to read along with the other books in the series.

Pax and Aaron story was a sweet adventure with holiday magic, little kids’ joy, love and nurturing, and little bundles of love that will steal your heart.
Their first meeting was quite comical, he accepted the shifter side rather easily, and they also enjoyed family traditions.
I liked their chemistry, how they developed their relationship, the helpful best friend, and the way they blended the personal with the professional.
It was a sweet adventure, and I’m hoping for a certain chipmunk to find his happiness.

I was not in the mood to be annoyed. referring to everyone they/them until they tell you preferable pronouns did just that.
omega mc fucking SEES this is a man in front of him but uses "they".
call me whatever you want but using neutral pronouns on everyone also can be misgendering. and I would be offended if I stood in frond of someone naked and was referred to as "they". am I not woman enough for you? or are you blind? (blind in the only excuse I will accept)
it's so "considerate" to the point it's already inconsiderate.

OMG talk about a funny meet cute. Pax is an omega, and off to a vacation cabin to take care of his heat. Aaron, an alpha is off on vacation to plan for his next designs for his stuffed animal business. When Pax enters the room, he finds someone already there. I loved how Aaron helped Pax through his heat and finding out they were fated mates. It was lovely to see them spending time with both sides of their families. Here is hoping Buckle finds his mate.

I received this ARC for my honest opinion. Mink Hijinks by Morgan Lysand was a fun and cute read. Pax and Aaron’s story was one of being thrown together by chance. Pax not knowing that shifters are real and trying to satisfy his heat in a cabin secluded by himself finds himself rooming with an alpha named Aaron who is also a mink shifter. They find themselves attracted and at odds of how to proceed until they realize they are fated. This was such a fun, fabulous and quick read. I was not able to put it down. I highly recommend.

Pax is a human omega who looks like an alpha. He goes to a cabin to experience his heat alone. Aaron is a mink shifter who's an alpha and a famous stuffie designer. Both end up in the same cabin sharing. Aaron is sunshiny, kind and is a thoughtful caretaker. Pax is insecure and wants to be alone but something about Aaron makes him feel safe. A joyful story with mpreg. I received a copy of this and this is my voluntary opinion.

Thank you for the book; here is my honest opinion:

WOW!! So Good!!

Well written story and well developed characters. Love this whole double booked series.
Pax booked a cabin for his heat. His family drives him crazy trying to set him up with an alpha all the time.
Aaron booked a cabin because he has hit a dry spell in his creativity.
Oops!! They end up with the same cabin just as Pax starts into heat!!

Pax and Aaron

This was another great story in the Double booked series. Single Mink shifter Pax is on vacation to get away from his families interfering in his love life. Aaron is doing the same, wanting some peace and quiet while going through his heat.
A great addition to the series. Highly Recommended

This was super cute! I love unusual shifters, and a mink shifter is adorable. It was very short and easy to read, and I enjoyed it. I love when alphas and omegas don't quite fit into their designation, and this had that in spades. Some of the transitions were a bit clunky but it was a cute read.

A fast paced fated mates story. Pax and Aaron’s bond fell short and didn’t really capture a deep emotional connection between the two which was disappointing.

What to do when you find a Mink in your bed? If you are heat like Pax, it just might have been fated. I loved the cabin setting. This made for a nice snowed in intimacy. Quick and quite spicy little read!
