Micah Warren thought therapy would help him clear his head. Balance his life. Choose between the woman he married… and the one he can’t let go of. But the more he talks, the worse things get.Week after week, he spills pieces of his soul and instead of clarity, it forces him to confront the parts of himself he’s worked hard to bury. His sessions grow darker and more confessional, the walls feel like they're closing in. He walked into therapy to fix his marriage. He left with a plan no one saw coming. Not every confession leads to redemption. In Pillow Talk, love is twisted, loyalty is tested, and the safest space becomes the most dangerous.
Damn! This was a wild ride! 🤯 Micah's ole arrogant ass thought he could have his cake and eat it too! 😤 He thought he was untouchable, and that the women would allow him to do as he pleased. Well, karma came for him and took care of business. 🤷🏿♀️ It was the seven degrees of separation for me! It was crazy how so many people were interconnected. The end of the read felt incomplete to me. Is there more to come?
This book had great sex scenes. Well, I thought I’d start with the positive 🤷🏽♀️. The rest of the book lacked substance and details. There was so much potential to detail in more depth that lead up to many important moments in book. It felt like an outline of a book filled in with sex without the build up the story . There was a sufficient backstory to Micah Quinn’s affair, but the switch Micah made to leave (put her out) Cynthia contradicted his thoughts and sessions with the therapist. We never got to experience Cynthia and Lorenzo’s chemistry we just just right in them having sex three months later. I would have loved to see their friendship grow Then we are just told the divorce was bad but did not get to see it play out. It was just lots of that. Not sure if I’m going to read part two.
Kinda wish the full story was in part 1 of this book. The book was ok but I can’t see there being a full part 2 to this without it just being dragged out.
Pillow Talk Second Chance Romance/Forbidden Love Book 1 in the series - Book 2 coming soon *NO SPOILERS*
So, this Novella is about Cynthia and Micha whom are married and were high school/college sweethearts. They have been through so much yet have managed to build an empire together.
Cynthia has sacrificed so much for Micha while supporting him through school and through the grief and depression he experienced due to family circumstances which has made him the man he is today. Micha is loyal to Cynthia to a fault and would never leave his wife for anything. He knows what an anchor she has been in his life, and he owes her the world. Yet, what happens when that is challenged?
Nothing can shake the love they have for one another, that is until a third party enters the picture. Lies, betrayal, infidelity, and loyalty is questioned as these two embark on a road I don't think either of them knew they were headed for.
When I tell you that this book lives rent free in my head... Baaaabyyy! All the little hidden easter eggs had me clutching my pearls. The spice was most definitely spicy and had me fanning myself with my legs crossed. I had so many emotions reading this novella that I forgot it was even a Novella. I was so sad knowing it was coming to an end. Until I read the cliffhanger, I just knew there was going to be a Book 2.
I read this book in one sitting while recovering from a surgery and I will say it got me through and was so exciting to read. Be aware you are going to want to buddy read this with someone or at least have someone you can vent to or talk about spoilers with. I do not recommend anyone hold them feelings in. Thank me later & Happy Reading!
This was a short and fast read. Overall, I enjoyed the story's plot and was hooked from the beginning. I wanted to see how Micah was going to get out of his predicament with Quinn and if Cynthia was going to stay. There are some unexpected twists and if you don't keep your eyes on it, you'll miss a very important detail near the end.
Note, editing/proofreading was needed for the development of the story, to have smoother transitions, and address the grammatical errors. Another major issue is the abrupt way we lost Cynthia and her new beau thang towards the end. Not sure if this was intentional by the author, but not providing another scene after their steamy encounter didn't give me cliffhanger vibes. It just left me wondering why we didn't get to see her one more time. Hopefully this is addressed in the next installment.
I know I'm looking forward to Pillow Talk II. So many questions. What's up with the therapist now that she knows more of who's who? And we need to see what unfolded in the final scene. Where the hell is Cynthia? Who the hell passed out? And was someone actually un-alived?
3.5 this story centered on a married couple, who quickly grew part once a third-party entered the marriage. One successful. One at homemaker. Both confused as to how quickly the marriage fell.
I have to say this was a really good quick read. The characters were interesting. There a plot twist that are coming, but I think I know but I’m going to shock a few in the sequel. The author dropped hints expertly.
For a short read, the author packed a lot of content in between 102 pages. This is an excellent whodunit or did they?
and no, I haven’t seen the “new” Color Purple, but I remember the original giving Mister a worse showing than the book. here Micah sees an analyst Tony Soprano-style, but he still can’t contextualize his “love” for two women. this causes TROUBLE.
Now that was a whole ride! I had my mouth on the floor a couple times but the twists and plots that twisted more was dope. Micah was a husband from the hockey sticks but baby the way everything played out... chef's kiss. I loved this book. Very entertaining and kept me enthralled.
This book definitely itched the scratch that I needed! And in the middle of it gave twist and turns that left you with your mouth open. The only thing that I’m going to say is Lorenzo is a new book bae for me
This was a great read! I truly enjoyed all the twists and turns. The cliffhanger omg!! I can't wait until the next book is released. This is a must read!!!!!
The plot was pretty simple. The storytelling was decent, but there were so many grammatical errors that reading the book started to annoy me. I wasn't surprised though, especially with the misspelling of "Colombia".
