This is a coming of age story about Roma, a young witch who after being plagued by visions of an evil with decides
to leave the safety of home to find her was in the world. Along the way she encounters a variety of creatures both good & evil with some intending to do her harm simply for being a witch.
The story was beautifully written & engaging which made it really easy to get attached to Roma so that by the end of the book you genuinely wanted to know what happens next.
Highly recommend & even my pre-teen son also enjoyed it

This book was absolutely everything…this was action, intrigue, sorrow, fear… all of it. I loved the characters and the heartfelt moments between them. This has everything you’re looking for in a book.
If you hear these words Opal black of burning fire Give unto me the power required To make my magick hit its mark Using fire on this night so dark you had better run extremely fast away. Professionally written and highly recommended.

Lineage: Daughter of the Witch is a vivid, beautifully written story that gives you everything you could want from a gothic fantasy—action, intrigue, creepy vibes, emotional punches, and those little moments of connection that make you feel like you’re right there with Roma.
This was my first time reading anything by this author, and I was lucky enough to get an ARC. Ia also truly love going into a book blind with no knowledge of a story or its author to form my own opinions of it with zero outside influence. And honestly? Michael W. Huard crafted a haunting but hopeful tale about Roma—a girl born into a legacy of witchcraft she never asked for. Everywhere she goes, she’s followed by the shadows of her mother’s past, dark rumors, and plenty of danger.
The atmosphere is rich with gothic witchy goodness, and there’s this constant sense of unease that pairs so well with the strong family bonds and sparks of hope running through the story. As someone who’s a bit witchy myself, I loved how much care clearly went into the research. It gives the magic a grounded, authentic feel. The spells, the scenes, the vibes—it all just works. And for someone who reads to escape reality, I had zero trouble disappearing into this world.
Whether you’re a longtime fantasy fan, someone who loves mystical stories with a darker edge, or you’re totally new to this author, this book delivers. It’s a perfect fall read—especially around Halloween or any gloomy fall day—and sets up an exciting lead-in to book two, Inferno.

The mystery and intrigue shaped by her mother and by her chosen foe are classic but engaging and, thankfully, not overdramatized. And there are many other interesting and engaging characters along the way.

Young Roma has to walk the path she was destined by blood, she inherited witchcraft powers from her mother.
This book has a high level of gothic witchcraft, with a haunted tension but there is also hope.
It’s beautifully written and the author did a lot of research on the subject of witchcraft. That automatically results in a very strong and gripping read! Great work! 😎

I was asked to read this as an ARC and I had not read anything by this author so I was intrigued. This book did not disappoint. It is about a young witch coming into her powers and her journey she must travel. The author did a fantastic job of painting a picture with his words. He also put a lot of research into the story about witchcraft and it shows. Overall it was a great fantasy / witch book. Great for right before Halloween!

I rarely reread a book but I’m glad I reread this book. I read the arc but the hardcopy seemed to really come to life. The illustrations are amazing and really gives you a connection to the story. It’s so much fun to read and it’s really exciting. A witch, mage and an incredible journey to find a wicked powerful witch who is dangerously evil. I can’t wait to read book 2. I highly recommend reading this book.

I really enjoyed this book, I didn't know what to expect as I had never read anything by this author before.
the story line and the plot were great. Alot of research was put in to the witchcraft aspect of the story which made reading it even better.

Absolutely loved this book and about to dive in to book two! Dark and creepy and full of magic and magical creatures. Devoured it!

Roma, the daughter of witch Svetlana, has a quiet and peaceful upbringing. Though she’s been haunted by nightmares/ visions about a dangerous and cruel witch.
When she’s at age, she decides to leave her calm and beautiful home on a quest to seek out the witch Salem.
During this adventurous journey she meets trolls, goblins, demons, man eating plants and other dangerous creatures. Her path also crosses with Jehovah, who is as intriguing on the inside as on the outside.
It’s a challenging story with a lot of good and evil things happening, it read fluently and the ending is a great opening for the next book. Roma will pass many more adventures on the path ahead. 😎

There are so many facets to this story that kept the book flowing and actually did have me asking what next. Svetlana and her companion Snow have raised Svet’s daughter Roma together and under the tutelage of her mother she has come to learn how to use magic. Once Roma has grown up and decides to set out on her own she meets those who are friends and those that would wish her harm for just being a witch. I definitely would recommend this book!! I was gifted a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review.

Was not sure what to expect as this is my first book by this author, but when asked by him to read this as an ARC, it sounded interesting. I'm a psychological thriller reader usually, but I like a good witch story for Halloween time!
This was a well written story, with lots of time dedicated to the research of witches/witchcraft. Worth the read for sure!!
