Don’t get me wrong I liked this book but I couldn’t quite get into this. I’m honestly not sure why. Maybe it was because he’s had a good sexual experience while she didn’t. Or maybe It’s probably just me.

First and foremost, please read your trigger warnings. This isnt your "normal" happy go lucky Hockey Rom-Com...its definitely a Dark Romance and as such, your mental health matters so please do not go into this blind. The violence starts in the first chapter and does not let up.
I was torn on my rating scale here, cause I really did like the book but there are plot holes imo that I am having a hard time coming to terms with which is why its not a solid 4 star book for me. I do however enjoy how down bad and frankly obsessed Riggs' is with Maren. He takes german shepherd to the max and will go to war with anyone who even breathes wrong in her direction all the while having so much golden retriever energy directed at Maren who does not want it [at least thats what she says with her mouth....].
Maren is damaged, with a capital D....and honestly so is Riggs but we dont know his baggage. We really only get to dig into some of Marens baggage, which is one of the plot hole gripes. I wanna know more about them both!
I feel like the book could have been longer in order for us to get the proper level of not only backstory on the two MC's but also more of a proper wrap up. The book ends kinda abruptly imo but not sure if thats cause im nosey or cause it really was abrupt. Im gonna go with nosey, but really I jsut want more Maren & Riggs 🤷♀️
If you are looking for a quick, stabby, feminine rage, with a completely unhinged for her Mc's than give this book a read!

Spice: 4/5: it brought everything and more during those chapters
I read this book in one sitting (okay fine, I read 20 pages the night before, but that doesn’t count 😅). This was my first Havoc Wilde book and it will not be my last. I’m absolutely speechless at how captivated I was. From page one (and that opening kill 👀), I was completely hooked. There wasn’t a single dull moment, and the darkness of the story was written so beautifully that even as someone who doesn’t usually go for thrillers or horror and I ate this up.

Why I Loved Riggs (the MMC)
• He’s obsessed, possessive, and absolutely down bad for Maren.
• Calls her “little nightmare”—and yes, it’s as hot as it sounds.
• Becomes his true self because of her; she’s his chaos and his calm.
• Protective, loyal, and so deeply in love that nothing (not even Maren) could stop him from loving her.
• When he finally said those three words? Domestic and perfect.
• Riggs is the definition of a man who would crawl, bark, or burn the world for her.

The first time Riggs Rhodes sees what Maren is capable of, he’s instantly obsessed. A year later is when all the pieces come together and his obsession has finally come to the surface.
The push and pull these two had was perfect. The way that Riggs is portrayed as being the perfect gold boy but really he’s not so different from Maren. He has a darkness inside of him that matches hers. But her fighting at every turn, this girl did not have a chance. This man obsessed and addicted to her, even tracks her; if that isn’t love, I don’t know what is lol.
Maren was such a fierce FMC. I loved how she took no crap from anyone including Riggs and really made him out the work in. She definitely took her power back. But there’s also this vulnerable side to her she doesn’t show anyone and when Riggs finally cracks her walls, we find out why and it is truly heartbreaking.
Havoc Wilde knows how to write a man down bad bc your honor, he was in fact down bad. This man did not let anyone talk bad about her and lost his mind when they did. He WORSHIPS her, and tells her to her face he does proudly. This man is the first person who has fought for her and stayed. Will never be over him painting her toes though. I was like, marry him girl, stop fighting and just give in.
A wild ride that I would gladly do again.

Maren and Riggs deliver the most delicious mix of totally unhinged, crazy scary, whilst also being utterly sweet and tender with a whole heap of spicyness thrown in!
Riggs essentially becomes downright obsessed with the college outcast that is Maren Marino… she’s spent a year as a shell of her former self after committing a terrible crime that saw her stepfather meet his end. It was totally justified- he had spent years abusing Maren and she just couldn’t take anymore, and Riggs witnessed her do it. So he spends the next year that follows becoming totally obsessed with her until one night he sees her do it again and realises her total darkness is everything that he wants and more. And despite him being the golden boy of hockey, the one headed to the NHL, he really relishes the dark that he sees her. They start to spend time together and despite Maren insisting that she doesn’t want anything to do with Riggs he keeps showing up, and they two bond over dark thoughts, serial killer documentaries and take out,l sat in her dingy apartment. Then before you know it, they’re committing crimes together, and getting totally turned on by it!
This book was such a fun time- dark in the sense it’s so unhinged it’s total escapism at its finest! Riggs is swoon worthy to Marens very black cat and I couldn’t have enjoyed this more.

Maren Marino what a fucking queen! I love her so much! She’s so fierce and brave! 😭😍 I love when the FMC is as obsessed and badass as the mmc and this was this a more! And my man Riggs ughhhh I LOVE when a man yearns and is like a fucking puppy trailing after her girl!! And Riggs was just like that and at the same time he had this strong personality that was just what Maren needed! Their chemistry is unbelievable ❤️🔥

The night Riggs was going to go get his revenge, he walks in on an argument between Maren Marino, St. James cheer captain, and his coach. He is her step father and has been abusing her for years. While letting his sports buddies do the same.
Maren refuses to put up with the abuse and unalives him. This is when the true Maren is born. She is not the same and the other students speak about her like she is some urban myth. With every whisper, Riggs becomes more and more protective.
Maren has began disposing of those who seems to have a hard time of accepting no for an answer. Riggs is obsessed with her and can't help but fall hard for her.
I couldn't get enough of Riggs and the way he put her and her needs first. He will not allow anyone talk bad about her. She has a strong attitude and she won't hesitate to unalive those that deserve it. These two are perfectly chaotic together. He makes sure she eats and helps her with her unaliving.
I love the way Havoc interconnects her characters from other stories, both past and future. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The spice will have you grasping the pages. Riggs may let Maren take control and lead when it comes to her unaliving, but when it comes to being together, he let's his obsession take over 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶.

The book gods have spoken once again and blessed me with the exact story I needed to read. And apparently I have a theme going on and I am here for it. By chance I landed on Havoc Wilde's IG page when Her Name in Red was being promoted for arc readers. Just like a previous time, I read the blurb, instantly was hooked, and signed right up. I'm so excited I was picked because this story was not only crazy fun but wild and thrilling as well.
Maren and Riggs are two people that fate literally brought together. First by trauma and then by sheer will and watchfulness. They are literally 2 sides of the same coin, only Maren has accepted her role while Riggs tried to fight it. The more these two came together with their sarcastic bantering and underlying chemistry, the more the walls came down and masks came off.
I do love how Her Name in Red started off to a quick pace and dove headfirst into the storyline. I kept waiting for some backstory, some memories or anything but found it strange there was none. Both Riggs and Maren were subjected to events that shaped their darkness and I feel like the author missed out on bringing these topics to light. Overall though I absolutely loved reading Her Name in Red and even with this being written as a standalone, I'm hopeful this is the start to something with the theme of urban legends.

Okay, so this was my first time reading a book from this author, and boy did it not disappoint. I loved how the author took the tale of Bloody Mary and made it her own. Also, I loved how in this book, the killer is the FMC and not the MMC, but the MMC has that bloodthirst for killing. Riggs is a morally grey MMC, and I loved every second of it. He’s completely obsessed with Maren and will do anything for him, plus he’s a little psychotic, and I love that. Now, Maren’s story broke me; she has been through so much, and she took her power back, and it was beautiful to read. I also loved how these two meet, how they both were going to kill their abuser, who happened to be the same person. Maren owns everything everybody throws at her, especially her nickname, Bloody Mary; she uses it to her advantage, and it was sooo great to see. Also, when Riggs would say her name in the mirror three times, and she would appear, had me dying!! I also loved how she made Riggs work for everything; she was very hot and cold with him, and it did piss him off; he understood her better than everyone else. He knew she needed to get her power back, and he did everything in his power to help her get it. If you need a spooky season read, this book is definitely for you!! Riggs, was written was a great main male character I liked that he was driven and knew how to give supported Maren, I loved how he showed up to her and was better to her than anyone else. I thought of his character a lot because I throughly enjoyed reading about his character and how he had Maren as him as support from what he went through as well.
The spice was beautiful and so well put together I liked how dark the characters were and how the story was written. I felt the emotions through their words to each other. I supported the relationship from each other from the start and the improvement on their relationship was so much better than I expected and why I’m grateful for.
Maren was something else entirely she was thrilling and I loved her feelings and emotions and her new found freedom she had. Her character was rage and I adored that about her also I thought that strong personality and being with Riggs would stop her the strong personality but it developed into something obsessive I loved the desire they had for each other. I rated this book 5 stars and 3 on spice.

Maren is such a bada**. She definitely had her issues and was damaged for sure but she was so fierce and strong and OBSESSED. She was the star of the book and I loved that, normally it is the MMC, nah, not this time.
Riggs, my oh my were you down so bad. He was obsessed from the beginning and there was no getting out of it. He knew it, Maren knew it, everyone knew it. He had so many layers to him but deep down he was similar to Maren and I feel that really cemented their relationship even more.
No one would be able to handle Maren but Riggs.
I will say although I really enjoyed the story, there wasn't enough. I feel that there was so much more that could have been expanded on to get a better idea on who these two really were and why they were that way.

I LOVED this. A new to me author but I plan on reading everything she’s written because this was so good.
Maren Marino was the College Cheerleader that all the boys wanted and all the girls wanted to be….until something changed. She became an outcast, dropped from social hierarchy and ostracized because of one night where she had no choice but to take matters into her own hands…
Now everyone on Campus calls her “Bloody Mary” and still the Golden Boy of hockey, Riggs, is drawn to her like a moth to a flame. She’s different than the other girls. She’s not a puck bunny for a start and she doesn’t sway to his charms….so curiosity getting the best of him one night, he follows her, jealousy eating him alive when he sees Maren go down an alley with a frat boy, but what he sees is not at all what he expects….by the end of the night he has blood on his hands and an obsession that’s well underway.
The chemistry between Riggs and Maren is on POINT and the steam is INTENSE 🔥🔥🔥, it’s not rushed and the filthy mouths on BOTH OF THEM, more please. Some of the best spice I’ve read.

Oh how I loved this book!! I couldn’t get enough of these two at all Havoc ate with this. The love Maren and Riggs have for each other is just incredible and I loved watching it unfold
Riggs snuck into his coach house to try to comfort him about something that happened, but he walked into Maren and her stepfather arguing and her killing him. A year later he’s obsessed with her
Oh my I love Maren she’s just everything and more!! she’s also soft but only for Riggs. She’s so badass, and doesn’t care what anybody says or thinks about her and how she’s “crazy” but Riggs do not care at all and just sees her as just the most beautiful person ever even when she’s covered in blood

Oh how I loved this book!! I couldn’t get enough of these two at all Havoc ate with this. The love Maren and Riggs have for each other is just incredible and I loved watching it unfold
Riggs snuck into his coach house to try to comfort him about something that happened, but he walked into Maren and her stepfather arguing and her killing him. A year later he’s obsessed with her
Oh my I love Maren she’s just everything and more!! she’s also soft but only for Riggs. She’s so badass, and doesn’t care what anybody says or thinks about her and how she’s “crazy” but Riggs do not care at all and just sees her as just the most beautiful person ever even when she’s covered in blood

I enjoyed the push and pull between Riggs and Maren! Their banter was perfect! They are snarky and full of angst and I loved it!! Their chemistry was strong and when it finally fully ignited…. Wow!!
The story was good, the characters were great and the spice was spicy, my only issue and the reason for 4⭐️ was how quickly Riggs joined the unaliving train and there wasn’t a whole lot of his backstory to explain why he was the way he was. I was able to see past that so I’d still 100% recommend the read!!

4.75 ⭐️ First off, thank you so much to Havoc Wilde for letting me read the eARC! I was hooked from the start!! The story started off with a bang and sucked you in completely! I became OBSESSED with Riggs and loved his unhinged side. Something about a man who only has eyes for his woman and is legit feral for her gets me every damn time. Not only was Riggs down bad completely for Maren, but he didn’t want to change a single thing about her especially things that others would consider flaws or brokenness. Their love and obsession for one another was to die for ;) not only was the romance sooo good but so was the plot and I just kept getting more and more curious about Maren and her extracurricular activities iykyk ;)) Havoc did amazing with captivating you with the plot along with the romance and intimacy ❤️ definitely recommend reading this and can’t wait to see what Havoc comes out with next!!

Her Name in Red is my first book introduction to Havoc Wilde as an Author, and I can say I was not disappointed in the least bit. This book was definitely up there in my favorites. A dark romance with a serial killer FMC, and spiraling MMC. I loved every moment of this book. I have to say that I was just as obsessed with this book as Riggs was with Maren. I’d love to see more of them, and I hope I do. I’d love to see how they get away with everything. Do they ever get caught? Like I want to know. However, I’d be perfectly happy with never getting answers. I’d be 100% content knowing how this book ended, and they were good for the rest of ever.
The spice in this book is wild. I think it was very peak. I appreciated it all. Havoc did a fantastic job with this book. Just remember to always check the trigger or content warnings, as this book may not before everyone.

OMG!! Her Name in Red is a dark college sports romance with revenge and spice. This is Maren and Riggs' story, similar to Bloody Mary retelling. Their story is filled with a similar trauma that had happened to them, which led them to take their revenge on those who cause pain to others. I love how both of them are willing to do whatever to protect each other, even if it means killing someone. Their chemistry is strong and addictive in how they will do absolutely anything for each other. They also have those touch her/him and die vibes and high possessiveness from both. Their story is tragic, and I loved how they found themselves and their HEA.

Wow! What a read. This jumps right into the action so prepare yourself! There is a cool Bloody Mary vibe that I really dig!
